R.The bus is very good for getting a view of Auckland. I went on both routes last week. However as its winter there is just one bus per hour. The last bus from the Museum is at 4.20 and dies not make any other stop..... Also had no commentary. Two of my driver were excellent and so helpful.
N.Have done this tour 3 times now and loved it every single time. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the buses are reliable as far as the timetable is concerned...and it's a fabulous way to see your way around Auckland, whether you're a visitor or a local.
P.Auckland Explorer Bus pass was totally worth its price. The drivers were very friendly. The buses were in a great condition. The frequency was also good. Got to see different parts of Auckland on & off the bus. Trip to Devonport via ferry was included in the price. I recommended that you buy the 2 days pass from Auckland Explorer Bus to see the best of Auckland & Devonport.
T.In the winter, takes 1 h to get the next bus. The Wifi availability is limited to some GB. The red loop bus was old and bad smelling. Service can be improved
D.Nice tour although not too long on both routes. A little expensive $45 for 1 day of basically a 2 hour total tour. Nice clean air conditioned busses. Fully automated tour with no live narration.

I.If you are new to Auckland, this 2 hour tour will give you a reasonable taste of the what the city can offer. I found the commentary fun and informative, and the bus itself was quite good.
The price is very expensive for what you get though, and the second 'blue loop' is pretty boring compared to the initial 'red loop'.
Comes with a free ferry trip to Devonport, which we didn't have time to use.
NB: not once on getting on the bus did they check that I had purchased a ticket.
L.The places were absolutely amazing and it was great value for 24 hours to get to visit all around Auckland and a ticket to Devonport but some of the drivers are extremely rude, one man asked if he could just run into the toilet and the women driving told him no, wasn't her problem if he had to pee and then got off the bus and started talking to the driver of the blue route about the man infront of the rest of us, extremely disrepectful and unproffesional

C.The buses were nice and new and the drivers were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the commentary and thought the 2 routes covered a lot of ground. The advertised 20 minutes between buses was more like 30 and the second day of my 2 day ticket they were one bus short i waited 40 minutes between buses. Under those circumstances its might still be worth using the Explorer Bus if you take the ride around without getting off. Also, when the two routes meet up make sure you understand if your bus is now switching to the new route or staying the original route..it can make the trip confusing if you don't clarify. Overall, good ride but there could be improvements if you really want to "hop on hop off".

O.I take the bus Ashley is a quite short time it was nice but when talking about the value I don't I don't think it's worth it

L.Nice way to explore Auckland. But I really recommend to buy the 48h ticket and not the 24h ticket. The bus drives from 9 am to 5 pm and so you don't have 24 hours to explore. So when you want to see the red and the blue line you should definitely buy the 48h ticket. Then you have enough time to see everything. But most important: GOOD WEATHER. On a rainy day you can't use the explorer bus the way you want to because almost all the spots are outside. So plan your trip depending on the weather.
M.We found the bus service to be excellent and it provided for all of our tourist needs to introduce us to the sights of Auckland. We hopped on and off the bus as we wished and the recorded commentary kept us informed of passing sights. We booked online and on the morning of our booking we wanted to take the ferry first to make the most of good weather, but when we arrived at the ferry terminal we were advised they could not help and we would have to see the bus driver at stop number 1. We had just missed the 9:30 bus and had to wait for the 10:00am bus to arrive meaning we would not be able to get the Devonport ferry until the 10:30am, thereby losing almost half a day. We headed toward the bus stop and found an Explorer employee there who could give us the ticket for the ferry. We noticed no advice on the website that this was how the system operated, so we suggest that future travellers keep this in mind if you want to take the ferry before the bus.

The Auckland tour would not have been exciting if Mr George would not be our driver..He had great knowledge of New Zealand .He helped us each time with the stroller and also gave great insights of New Zealand. The tour was good but the driver was excellent - Paashin
