I couldn't recommend Wild Kiwi enough! I had the best time exploring the best that NZ has to offer. From the moment I booked to the moment I left I felt like Wild Kiwi truely cared. Our guide was amazing and super knowledgable and made sure that everyone had a good time. The hostels that we stayed in were super nice and the Wild Kiwi vehicle was sooo comfortable.
I'll definitely be back and I'd encourage anyone looking to do a group tour around NZ or AUS to pick Wild Kiwi. You wont be disappointed!!!

Wild Kiwi were great, the entire 21 day tour was fabulous. Lots of laughs, memories, cultural history learnt, beautiful destinations seen.
Ben is your tour guide if you are looking for an informative, fun, trip.

Wild Kiwi is the absolute best! My original plan was to rent a camper and drive through Australia and the South Island of New Zealand myself but I decided to go with Wild Kiwi instead. I like the South Island tour so much I did the North Island with them as well. Renting a camper and driving would’ve been super boring and expensive comparatively and I wouldn’t have gotten to see all the amazing stuff that Wild Kiwi showed me. I also met incredible people wherever I went and all of the guides (Jason, Robbie, Telli, and Hendrik) were incredible! I had a blast exploring with Wild Kiwi and would recommend the tours to anyone even slightly considering the trip!

Fantastic service. Ordering from Auckland - I have received both packages within 2 days from ordering. Will for sure be ordering from you again

After completing the northern voyager tour with Wild Kiwi, I can’t think of a better way to travel around NZ. We got to see and do so much within the 7 days because of how well the tour was organised. Traveling from town to town was a breeze in their super comfy tour bus. The tour guide was engaging and insightful. I met some amazing people and had an unforgettable experience with Wild Kiwi . Would definitely do it again.

AWESOME!!! I went on the absolute Aussie tour in February 2020 and it was the best decision ever :) Jason, our Guide showed us the best places, made party with us and was really the best tour guide you can wish for! Wild Kiwi is perfect with it's small group size and perfect organized routes. Hopefully I can go to another tour with them :)

I went on the Absolute Aussie experience by Wild Kiwi. They were one of the best days of my life so far. Robbie is such a cool guy and so friendly. He made all the arrangements and made sure they were top notch. He is a baller. All the locations in the trip were so good especially the Whitsundays. Furthermore, the tour size is small, so I could connect with everyone and we all had a blast. 1000% would recommend Wild Kiwi. I am coming again for NZ tour.

I joined the Southern Voyager tour last January and it’s an experience I would always remember. NZ is beautiful without stating the obvious but the Wild Kiwi Adventure Tours team definitely delivered and made this holiday so seamless and highly enjoyable. Team, you really have set the bar high for me when it comes to adventure travel. I hope to join one of your tours again one day!

I took the 7 Day Northern Voyager. What made it great was how customizable they made it. So the tour itself includes accommodation, transportation, a surfing lesson, one other activity, and a dinner.
They show you the recommendations for things to do in each place, you sign up for what you want and then the guide books them for you while you are doing other activities.
This was a fantastic tour, Robbie (our guide) was a big part of that. The customizable structure is great. The bus is also a luxury passenger van, not a run down old bus. There are outlets, wifi, and nice leather seats.
I would highly recommend Wild Kiwi to anyone planning on going to NZ or even their Australia trips!

I did the 7 day Southern Voyager tour and haf the most amazing time! We did so much and had so much fun doing it! My guide, Robbie, was very helpful and knowledgeable about New Zealand. Wild Kiwi makes the trip enjoyable and stressfree by doing all of the booking and give awesome recommendations. I would totally recommend this tour!

My tour of the South Island with Wild Kiwi tours was an amazing experience. The bus your travel on is comfy, with reclining seats and USB ports. My tour guide Mark was amazing, he went above and beyond what he was expected to do. Along the way, Mark would stop the bus at little hidden treasures that he knew about which let you see some real gems that you might not otherwise see on big tours. He was a pretty funny guy and really made the tour worth it. Being part of a small group also made the tour really flexible with what people wanted to see and do. New Zealand was a beautiful country and Wild Kiwi Tours helped me see that beauty to its full potential. Thanks guys! And a really big thank you to Mark, you're the best!

Great road trip, especially for those who don't know how they want to travel through NZ. Your guide will organize everything for you, you just sit tight and enjoy the views. Moreover, you'll meet some cool people and have lots of fun together. And if you're lucky enough to have Vicky as your guide, you'll hear everything about NZ's nature, best places to see and how to get the most of your tour.

I have just returned from the most fantastic time in beautiful New Zealand. Departing for the 24 Day New Zealand Discovery Tour on December 23rd 2017, little did I know what was ahead of me. From day one, I was quickly immersed in the New Zealand culture, landscape and stories of its history and current stance on the environment, politics, social, economical and humanitarian pathways. This was all thanks to Robbie our wonderful guide. Starting as a group of 16 for the Northern Trail and ending as a group of 9 of us who completed the whole 24 Day Tour, Robbie was incredibly organised, highly energetic, always on point and patient (mostly with the playlists we forced him to listen to on our drives, along with our incredibly high end singing and professional harmonizing to such playlists). His knowledge of New Zealand is outstanding, including his answers for the random, insignificant little queries we threw his way (sometimes just to test him) as well as his 'typical' Kiwi humour which was refreshing. Robbie made the tour one of a kind and as I am someone who travels alone a lot of the time as I do not enjoy group tours, this was of great importance.
The tour itinerary has been well thought out and although I do wish we stayed multiple evenings at some locations as there was simply too much to do in one day, this gives me a great opportunity to return and continue to discover the delights of the places I felt a connection to...perhaps even as a part of another Wild Kiwi tour. If there was anything to 'complain' about it would be that there is a lot of driving as we did need to cover a huge amount of land in a short period of time however, these long drives also allowed us to stop off at little spots to stretch our legs and have the opportunity to check out little hidden gems of the country that I most certainly would have missed if I wasn't travelling with Wild Kiwi. They also gave us the time to get to know each other and get creative with conversations.
Most importantly, the people this tour attracted were the most wonderful travel companions. I think the target demographic that Wild Kiwi markets to is completely on point. I have met some incredibly fascinating characters who I will most certainly remain friends with for years to come. It was quite surprising to me how quickly we all bonded and although it was 24 days in each others pockets, I have left feeling like I've known most for a lifetime.
If you are an avid traveler who is a little skeptical about touring with a group of people, I would highly suggest you look into touring with Wild Kiwi. The small group numbers, organisation of the company keeping you updated with the tour planning and any changes to schedules as well as the personal approach taken by the company and guides makes everything a breeze. If you don't have time to plan a trip yourself but need to get away, Wild Kiwi are your go to for this. The planning was seamless and for the first time ever, I didn't have to stress about making time to plan a trip that I know I will love, it was done for me.
Thank you to Robbie and the Wild Kiwi crew for a fantastic adventure and for sharing your spectacular land with me. I'll be back!

Being initially referred to by i-SITE, I joined the 7-day South Island adventure touring the lower part of South Island, I have to say that, even for a local living in NZ, I have learned so much during the tour especially from our caring tour guides, who presented to us vividly and elaborately of every place we went to. They are fully experienced and very professional, and always think ahead of you. The tour is reasonably priced and is absolutely worth the money you spend, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fully immersed Kiwi adventure here.

Honestly the best part of my trip to New Zealand I did the southern voyager tour and the guide Mark is very knowledgeable and fun. When your not out at great places to stretch your legs or at a hostel in a beautiful area. You are driving through snowy mountains and great lakes. The choice of options that you can do are great and Mark will try to accommodate for you to do what you like, but even if you don't want to do an activity the areas you stay are surrounded by amazing scenery that you can do a veriety of walks through. The fellow tour members were great and in places the beer was cheap.

I loved my experience on Wild Kiwi. I did the Southern Loop which was only 7 days, but I enjoyed every minute. It was the perfect route, exactly what I wanted and with it being a smaller group means you're able to get to know everyone more- you definitely end up like a family! You get all your accommodation booked, with plenty of choices for dinner locally or using the hostel kitchen. There's a fair bit of driving so prepare for windy roads if you get travel sick, but there are regular stops for coffee and lunch etc also the views are worth it. The van is exactly as they describe, with comfy leather seats, USB ports and WiFi (FYI- which only works when the car has signal, that can be weak when you are in the middle of nowhere.) There's heaps of choices for activities that you can choose from in different locations, I did the whale watching in Kaikoura and Kayaking in Abel Tasman and would recommend both. 100% worth it!

I just finished up the 7 day Southern Voyager with an awesome group of people. We all felt welcome from the minute we jumped on the bus thanks to our amazing tour guide Robbie. There was a lot of driving, but the scenery was so beautiful, the music was good, lots of fun chatting with the other people in our group, and I always felt safe even along the many hairpin bends!
Robbie was super organised giving us heaps of notice about activities and times for the following days, making sure we were all booked in to the activities we wanted, and organising dinners. His knowledge about everything New Zealand is second to none and we always went on amazing walks, ate yummy food and learned so much about the culture, history, wildlife and plant life of this beautiful country.
I would highly recommend the skydiving in Franz Josef - it is not that expensive, the views from up there are insane, and the whole experience was great.
Milford Sound was incredible - as was the drive through Fiordland.
In Queenstown we took full advantage - doing the canyon swing (do it!!!) And then I went and did a bungy jump (I would recommend doing the bridge or nevis, the ledge bungy gave me whiplash), then ended the day with a pub crawl. The accomodation here was great.
Driving through to Mount Cook was also stunning, I have some amazing pics. Mount Cook itself and the walk we did here was beautiful - we also stayed up to stargaze - highly recommend this!
There were so many great little stops along the way and I have so many amazing photos and memories to take away from this trip. I had so much fun and made some great friends.
Thank you Wild Kiwi for what was one of the best weeks of my life. I am sad to leave and cannot wait to come back!

I'm just about to fly home after our 7 day Southern Voyager tour. It was one of the best weeks of my life! Our tour guide Robbie was absolutely incredible the whole time and he made our week super easy for us. He knows so much about New Zealand so we learned heaps while on tour, and he's super organised and communicates very clearly so there's never any confusion about where you need to be. If you had to check in for any activities he'd show you exactly where you had to be and at what time. He also pre-booked tables for the whole group for dinner most nights (which were totally optional) so you didn't have to think about where to go if you didn't want to. He made our tour awesome!
7 days is a short amount of time but we did so much that it feels longer! Activities I recommend are:
- Sky diving in Franz Josef. Awesome company, cheaper than a lot of other places, with an incredible view as you fall!
- Milford Sound. Don't miss this! Not just the cruise itself but the drive through Fiordland National Park is a must-see and absolutely takes your breath away.
- Shotover Canyon Swing in Queenstown. Possibly my favourite activity for the whole trip. It was SO MUCH fun, and was the perfect balance between scary and exciting.
- Do the hikes that your guide recommends! Robbie's advice never lead us astray and we loved all the walks we did.
- Star gazing in Mt Cook. A bunch of us just walked out to a random paddock and lay there and watched the most amazing stars. One of my favourite memories.
Overall the experience was incredible - I can't think of a single negative thing to say. We made some amazing friends and memories, and I'm so grateful that a company like this (smaller tour groups, locals running it etc) exists! Thanks Wild Kiwi for an amazing week.

I’ve always wanted to go to New Zealand but was unsure how to plan a trip that included all of the necessary spots I wanted to see - while being considerate of things like time, money and transportation.
I stumbled upon wild kiwi through a quick google search and was impressed with the offering. While all of the different tour offerings seemed great, the 7 day voyager through the South Island seemed best suited for me.
We met up with our group at the Christchurch airport on Saturday morning. We were immediately greeted by Big Ben, our tour guide, whom we quickly realized would be the highlight of the trip. We set out for the 5 hour journey to the Franz Joseph glacier, which seemed like a pain considering we had just flown 14 hours from the states. I was wrong...
We hit the road and we’re instantly greeted by some of the most spectacular views I’d ever seen... New Zealand is beautiful! Ben was mic’d up and incredibly knowledgeable of the terrain, providing comments, stops and food recommendations along the way. Instead of driving direct to the Glacier, Ben would give us breaks and walks at some spots that I likely would have missed if I wasn’t on the tour. He also briefed us on all of the possible activities at the glacier and signed us up during the stops. Ben blended his humor and inclusiveness to facilitate introductions within our group to immediately knockdown that awkward barrier as well.
We arrived in Franz Joseph on Saturday night and Ben had awesome dinner plans for the group. We ate and then had the option of checking out the local watering hole or resting up. Obviously I fancied the watering hole and the night was a blast.
The next day was spent for activities: me and my lady fancied a Kayak tour on a nearby lake with an excellent view of the glacier. Later, we rode ATV’s along the river and through the tropical terrain. Others chose a Heli-Hike up to the glacier, jumped in the local hot pools, or went of path on their own hiking adventures. We finished up with dinner @ a local pizza shop with 2 for 1 drinks all night!
Next day we hoped in the bus to queenstown. Same deal, long drive, but ben has stops planned accordingly and we got some absolutely breathtaking views. Ben provided a breakdown of the activities available and Queenstown and signed us up accordingly. Our hostel was right in the heart of town.
Spent the next two days in Queenstown:
Woke up and drove direct to Milford Sound for an awesome cruise of the area on day. Enjoyed a night in Queenstown as recommended by Ben and found all the local watering holes we fancied. Queenstown night life and food is A+.
Day 2 was activities: we paraglided in the morning (insane) and hit the luge in the afternoon. Others did the skydive, bungee jumped, jet boated or did the canyoning. We did dinner and a pub crawl with the group that night and exchanged stories.... stories were insane.
Next day we embarked to our last stop in Mt. Cook. We arrived and embarked on an awesome ~10 mile hike to a lake surrounded by the water. Dinner at the hostel that night with one of the craziest sunsets I’ve seen in our life.
Last day drove back to Christchurch, stopping along for some amazing views. Basically, to summarize: this was the best decision we made on our trip to New Zealand. Perfect group size, just the right amount of driving and Ben... literally Ben was the highlight of the trip. The guy had so much knowledge about New Zealand culture and terrain and history, he really took the trip over the top. One of the coolest and funniest humans I’ve ever met, and the best tour guide in the world!
A+ time and would recommend.

The Tour is very well organised. U get to see the best of the East coast and have great fun. The sailing on the Withsundays was a dream. Robbie is great guide as well as a great company. He took care of the need of all participants and made sure we had fun. O definitely recommend this tour

Great tour, the 7-day Southern Voyage takes you to the must-go destinations in the South in a small group with a few like-minded travellers. If you only have a week or two and don't want to do all the driving by yourself, this is a great option as you can just enjoy the views while your guide will handle the driving and keep you entertained with his jokes (ask Telli about the horse joke, it will brighten up your day). Thanks Telli and Wild Kiwi :)

Tour was beyond what I expected. I did the 7 day Northern Voyager. Decent accommodations, knowledgable and friendly guide, modern transportation with usb charger and wifi. Lots of local attractions to enjoy and among wonderfully diverse company. Suitable for backpackers of all experience levels. I felt very apprehensive at first as a first time backpacker but found those worries alleviated very quickly by our wonderful guide Vicky. She gave great local recommendations as well as some group activities where everyone could have meals together and have group bonding time as well alone time for exploring if that was one's preference. Transitions to each location was smooth and everyone was notified ahead of time what the next day's activities and plans were going to be. I could go on and on but I believe with other reviews, this company's reputation speaks for itself. Mahalo for a wonderful time. Aloha!

I had my first week of the Big South Tour with Ben. He is absolutely amazing; a wealth of knowledge about his country, extremely organized and cognisant to give us detailed briefings on the day's adventures, as well as great recommendations for tours and food. I was never dissapointed, but permanently excited and satisfied with my week packed with activities. I did the dolphin swim in kaikoura, sky dive and canyoning in Abel Tasman. We had awesome fish and chips on our first night of the tour which only cost $10 and the provided dinner of a burger & chips at Fat Tui's in Abel Tasman was perfectly delicious after a day of activity. Ben was also fabulous at looking after all my dietary requirements and always ensured that our food was consistently replenished.
Thank you Ben! You're a legend!

Seven days of absolute fun! Would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to explore South Island in a short span of time. An incredible experience for solo travellers too (I met amazing people on this trip). And if Telli is your guide, ask him for the horse joke!
D.
Had an awesome time on the wild kiwi tour, made great friends, our guide Julien was a lot of fun to be around and made sure we had the best time possible, hands down the best way to solo travel New Zealand,

Had an absolutely epic time touring the South Island with Claudia! Would 100% recommend, got to see so much and met really good people along the way. The trip was stress-free, accommodation was comfortable and the atmosphere was inviting. Thanks again Wild Kiwi!

Would highly recommend the Southern Voyager trip in the South Island of New Zealand. Fab Tour Guide Claudia, great-sized small groups for a more personal tour and a really good itinerary. Great value for money, highlights include Milford Sound, Franz Josef Glacier and all of the vineyards around Queenstown! Looking forward to returning to NZ for another trip soon!

My Wild Kiwi Northern Voyager trip was the first time I travelled by myself in a group and I loved every second it! What an epic landscape! Our guide Robbie was such a legend too and knew all of the best secret local spots to visit. I would recommend this to people who wanna see this beautiful country. Made lots of new friends too :)

Get me back to NZ. Had an AMAZING tour of the South Island! Such a perfect way to explore New Zealand. I am hoping to get back and do the North Island very soon. Definitely recommend going with Wild Kiwi, its the only way to do it.

Best adventure company by far. I've traveled around New Zealand many times with many different operators, and even lived and worked in New Zealand once upon a time. Out of my many trips around this stunning country, I never had such a fulfilling experience like I did with Wild Kiwi Tours. Firstly, it's Kiwi owned which is great, so you know the care for their country and the compassion of kiwis as a whole blends into the company. You could feel that in every aspect from the incredibly knowledgable guides (Rob and Ben for the win!!!) to the attention to detail in itineraries and off the beaten path kind of experiences. I did 3 weeks with Wild Kiwi, one in the north hitting all of the beach towns and breathtaking sights and 2 weeks around the south island experiencing the wild outdoors. 2 weeks is definitely a MUST for the south if you are an outdoors or adventure lover. Anyways, I digress. Secondly, props to Wild Kiwi for actually breaking down my view of organized tours as I avoid them usually given I think they are too clinical, too crammed, or too messy and party-centric. Wild Kiwi really hit the right balance of a group tour that was a small enough group that felt like an intimate experience, yet big enough where the group really vibed. There were ALWAYS a plethora of options to choose from that fit different people's desires for experiences...you could choose from mellow activities, take time for yourself, go extreme, you name it. And along the way Ben and Rob always made sure to stop off at viewpoints or short excursions and secret spots. They'd constantly be giving us fun facts and info about places that didn't feel regurgitated or robotic, what they told you added value to the experience as a whole. Honestly, Wild Kiwi just changed my whole view on traveling with people as a whole. i usually solo travel, so to be in a small group of fun people looking for exploration and adventure with a great guide and sweet ride... can't beat it really. There wasn't ever a point where I felt I was lacking for something to do, nor did I ever feel pressured into doing anything at all. That was the great thing, the options were there for all budgets and kinds of travelers. As for our trusty steed (van) it was SO much more comfortable than being crammed into a massive bus. Bags were stored in a separate trailer and the seats were spacious. Wifi on board to? Heyooo! And for accommodation being included, it just was so simple to enjoy the experience without figuring all of that out. For the places we stayed, be it lodges or hostels, they were always nice. It wasn't just some cheap place we got crammed into, they were good hostels or places and we always had rooms specifically for our group. Even if there was just a few of us in a larger room, it was only those of us from Wild Kiwi in the room which gave me a ton of peace of mind. I can't say enough except I wish i could go back and do it all again. To end this gush... I'd say if you want to experience the best New Zealand has to offer without the fuss of planning everything and taking medicore transport...do Wild Kiwi. Even as a backpacker, solo traveler, group, couple, whatever. Paying a little more for a tour like this will leave you so happy in the end. Hopefully one day I'll get back to New Zealand, or get a chance to do Wild Kiwi Oz someday! If anyone from Wild Kiwi sees this, give props to Ben and Rob and the whole team. You made a group tour believer out of me haha.
D.
We had an awesome tour of the South Island. We travelled in April and the weather was beaut! Robbie our guide was awesome.
K.
Such a fantastic tour and our guide Robbie was such a big part of it. The customizable structure is great. The bus is also a luxury passenger van with wifi, and nice leather seats. Highly recommend!

I did the Southern Loop tour and it’s an experience I will never forget. The Wild Kiwi Adventure Tours team definitely delivered and made this holiday so seamless and highly enjoyable.
