My boyfriend and I had the most romantic stay at Cascade Creek last month for Valentine's weekend! The cabin was magnificent! Where to start... We loved the roaring fire in front of the huge fireplace in the lounge and the fluffy cloud bed downstairs with the memory foam topper! The views from the comfy deck furniture were fantastic, but the outdoors baths were the crowning jewel. We watched the incredible night sky full of stars whilst soaking in the hot baths in complete privacy. The cabin is very well appointed and spacious. It was very clean and tidy and we enjoyed the games and being able to cook our meals in the well stocked kitchen. We just can't wait to come back again in Winter to enjoy the cabin in the snow! Thanks again for an amazing weekend! See you again soon!

Cascade creek is the most amazing place! We had such a brilliant time. Everything about it was perfect. The food was delicious! The cabin was immaculate and the location was secluded. We loved the outdoor baths and the walking tracks. I can’t wait to book again!

So nice to be away from it all. Our visit was a surprise birthday present for my husband, and our daughter, husband and grandchildren joined us. They are 11 and nearly 9, and enjoyed the Bush walk, toasting marshmallows and the outdoor bath. So nice to have no screens!! Great piece of paradise, clean, lovely bbq basket, and very accommodating hosts. Thank you

Cascade Creek Retreat is an absolute gem of the South. An incredible property with elements of luxury all throughout the cabin and wild nature all around you. The ability to disconnect from the world (wifi & cell phones) is beautiful and a great way to connect with yourself and the ones you love... or the ones that join you on this trip. The walks are amazing as well, loads of waterfalls nearby and a cascading creek to follow through the native bush. The sheep are super friendly and it's so fun to give them a wee feed and say hello. This will be a regular place for me to visit, both for my photography work and for some romantic time with my partner :) Thanks for sharing such an amazing slice of paradise!

We stayed at Cascade Creek the week before Christmas and absolutley loved it. It was a surprise for my wifes birthday and she was blown away. Also had an 11 year old and a 3 year old with us and even with out internet they had an awesome time. Bush walks, creek, board games and roasting marshmallows. We got the food package and loved it, easy to prep and tasted beautiful. Also the communication between myself and the host Sophie was perfect, she maintained regular contact leading up to make sure we had the best stay we could. Thank you very much!

My partner Andrew and I recently stayed at the Cascade Creek Retreat, and oh how wonderful and gorgeous the place is! loved every minute of it and didn't want to leave! It really is a magical place, I mean a log cabin set in such calming, beautiful native bush, who could ask for more. And not once will you get bored without WiFi, mobile phones and TV, was great to switch off from the world! So good we've booked again in winter!...P.S Sorry we used 2 beds but my snoring wasn't quite as magical as the surroundings LOL

The perfect place to go either by yourself or with your partner or even a group of friends but the idea is to disconnect from the madness of the world (especially at the moment). I took my wife to this stunning location for her birthday so that we could just relax and be dazzled by nature and all the wild life. Not a false note. Everything was perfect. Could not recommend enough

A true retreat in every sense of the word. We left the busy world behind for 2 magic nights of rest and relaxation. You can't help but feel that way when your immersed into a magical log cabin surrounded by native bush and awesome birdlife. We will be back.

Such a beautiful and stunning place to stay which exceeded our expectations so thank you Sophie for sharing your magic with us. Also a very big thank you to Kelly the chef who was just gorgeous and cooked the most amazing meal which really made our weekend so special. One month ago we spent a wonderful experience at Cascade Creek Retreat, a perfect location. We enjoyed the out door tubs under the clear starry sky, the open fire made for a comfortable evening , the food was top class and as good as any restaurant, we enjoyed a walk on the cascade creek track, there was not enough time for us to explore more as we only had a one night stay. Absolutely Superb Thank you.

We stayed at Cascade Creek retreat for 1 night and only wished we could have stayed longer. The cabin is absolutely stunning and everything has been thought about with great detail. We loved the toasted marshmallows, outdoor baths and hot chocolate making. We also loved the scenery and the pet sheep! Will definitely be back again. :)

Absolutely loved our visit from start to finish. It snowed!!! And it was just beautiful. The baths were so awesome as the blizzard formed around us. Place is the best way to get a nice relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Will be back.

The perfect venue for our intimate wedding. Luxury accommodation at its finest with stunning scenery. Cannot recommend Cascade Creek enough. Management went above and beyond to make our stay perfect... from the gourmet food basket full of delicious treats, personalised welcome letter, flowers, champagne, hot chocolate making set, marshmallows to toast, fluffy bathrobes.... The most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. Already planning our next stay!

We recently enjoyed our third stay at Cascade Creek Retreat. Since our first visit in 2015 we've been enchanted by this gorgeous property, and always look forward to a return visit. It's the little things and level of thought put into Cascade Creek that makes it so truly wonderful. From arriving to find the fire has already been lit and warmed the cabin, to a scrumptious hot chocolate recipe and beautifully presented ingredients waiting for you. The Jar of marshmallows filled to the brim waiting on the coffee table, and the jar of skewers beside the fire - purposely left to entice the sweet-toothed amongst us into toasted marshmallows. The wonderful knitted slipper socks available in numerous sizes and colours to wear while you stay to keep your feet toasty warm. And the bubble bath, placed by the outdoor bathtubs to make the experience even more luxurious. The beds are super comfortable, and warm. There are games for the kids, and these days even a gorgeous group of tame sheep at the entrance to the cabin who call out when they see you and enjoy a scratch behind the ears. Every day we watched large groups of Keruru (Wood Pigeons) eating their fill around the cabin, sometimes counting up to 10 in a single tree. We go here to switch off from our busy lives. Cascade is one of the very few places you can stay where this is truly possible. Time stops down there as you enjoy another perfectly toasted Marshmellow infront of the open fire after a soak in one of the outdoor baths.

We stayed here for 1 night in March and I can't recommend it more highly! We own and operate accommodation ourselves, and these guys sure do know what they are doing! We loved the smaller details; everything has been thought of to make the stay top-notch. The log cabin itself is so beautiful, and the atmosphere was cosy, yet spacious, warm and welcoming. We loved the outdoor baths. Being off the grid with no wifi or cell phone reception allowed us to truly disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature. We left feeling refreshed and inspired to come back with friends! Thank you for the wonderful stay!

What a fabulous experience staying at Cascade Creek is. Every little touch has been thought of, the ingredients to make a perfect hot chocolate, marshmallows to roast on the fire, all our toiletries, great breakfast, just everything you need. We stayed over Christmas and there was even a Christmas tree which was such a lovely surprise. The location is perfect, the sheep in the paddocks friendly, the birdsong beautiful. If you are worried how you will cope without internet or cell connection - stop, just stay, you wont regret it. I wasnt sure how my tech crazy husband would cope, but he loved it, totally relaxed, loved the bush walks and had the comfort of knowing he could either walk or drive up the hill and you are back in range, but he actually never felt the need! The whole process from making the booking to the check out was smooth, friendly, fabulous. Don't just think about staying here....do it. We'll certainly be back.

Cascade Creek would have to be the best, most idyllic place to stay. Janene and Dave have created a haven to escape to away from the chaos of life, to disconnect while disconnecting. The service from start to finish is exceptional. The food was divine, the hot chocolate recipe was marvelous to have in front of the open fire. Bubbles and wine in the outdoor bath was heaven to relax in while listening to nature around you. We will definitely save to come back again. Thank you for everything. Words really don't cover what we have experienced.

I was the lucky winner of 2 fabulous nights at Cascade Creek Retreat - where do I begin ! Upon arrival we were greeted with some delicious snacks as well as a hot chocolate recipe which was absolutely delicious. We stoked the big warm fire up and parked up on the couch and toasted some marshmallows - absolute heaven! The big luxurious beds were just lovely and we had a lovely warm sleep. We awoke the next morning with the sun shining and decided to go for a bathe in the tubs outside, where we stayed for a couple of hours. The sun was beaming down and we were joined by some cool bird life flying around. After lunch we went and fed the friendly sheep and went for a walk around the retreat. We returned and had a lie down, then decided to stoke the fire again and waited for chef to arrive to cook our 3 course meal. I absolutely recommend getting the “dine in experience “ the food was some of the best food I have tasted, not to mention the wonderful friendly chef Kelly who absolutely made our night. What an absolutely wonderful experience my sister and I had at Cascade Creek Retreat. We highly recommend this place to stay and look forward to returning. Thank you so very much for having us!

We found everything so well done and just perfect. The Lodge is amazing and the location is so beautiful and peaceful. We so enjoyed our 2 hours in the bath soaking up the bush and the bird song. The food you provided for us was top quality. I really appreciated your simple but very tasteful experience that you offer. Highly recommend

We were gifted a two night stay and it was fabulous. Very relaxing. Lovely weekend away.

Well, where do I start...... booking was absolutely easy from confirmation/payment/checking in details and follow up email too. We travelled just down the road from Dunedin which was so easy as before we knew it we were at our destination AND what a piece of paradise. The Log Cabin was just amazing built beautiful inside and out and was a great touch to read your journey and see the Cabin being built beautifully for us to share!!! Everything was perfect and we felt relaxed the moment we arrived and cell phone coverage was GONE we were totally FREE and able to be left alone to unwind and enjoy Cascade Creek. We enjoyed the outdoor baths both in sunshine & in the rain which was so beautiful while soaking up the outlook of the native trees and the birds singing away. Your stunning open fire was just so cosy and warmed up the place perfectly and thanks for the jar of marshmallows too we absolutely demolished them. I must comment on your super cosy beds certainly 5 star bedding. We enjoyed our private bush walk down to the water fall and listening to the birds singing away following us along our walk. We had the pleasure of spending New Years here and cooked a beautiful Roast Lamb in a well equiped kitchen. Everything from music to board games and even hand knitted slippers to wear should your wee feet get cold. Honestly if you are reading this review STOP and book now because if are searching for a place to escape the world this is the place perfect in every way to certainly have quality time with your loved one or family or friends DO IT!!! The price you pay is worth every cent and we have special memories of our stay. The world quickly came back though once we got to the top of the hill as our cell phones pinged away in which we turned onto silent haha...... The Cascade Creek retreat is a delight to stay at. Not only is the location stunning, the love and attention that went into building and hosting is absolutely fabulous. We lit the fire every night even though the temperature didn’t call for it and had breakfast on the terrace far away from everything but close to the many birds. Absolutely recommended!

An absolutely incredible weekend away! My husband and I were blown away with this hidden treasure! We LOVED the food, wine, tubs, walks and just the over all experience in this surreal unique getaway! Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us, we can’t wait to make this an annual romantic getaway!

My partner and I had such a wonderful time here. I surprised him with a weekend away for his birthday and it was the best choice ever. Firstly, the communication with the hosts was timely and easy. I was well informed from the get go. The retreat is clean tidy and comfortable. Well furnished. It’s a perfect setting to just sit back and relax! So incredibly peaceful and isolated. The outdoor baths are perfectly set. Multiple tracks to go for a wander and take in the gorgeous scenery. Comfortable bed too. We live in a rural setting so are used to all things quiet but this place is just another level! It’s like we were in another world, just the two of us. It was bliss. We will definitely be back.

This place is AMAZING. A hidden treasure of South Otago. We loved the natural flora and fauna surrounding the retreat, as well and the bush walks. The building is beautiful and has such presence nestled in the valley; the two outdoor baths were great day and tend night; the rustic, quality and comfortable interior, open fire and goodies to enjoy made for a relaxing, peaceful and much needed break away. We will be back another day!

Stop looking for the perfect place to stay, relax, explore and unwind! By far the best place we stayed at. Ever! Ultimate privacy. Fireplace. Hot outside bath. Sustainable. Walks. Dave and Janene built their dream. An amazing story (which you can read about in a booklet on site) filled with dedication, an eye for detail and vision. The bed was so comfy, we didn't want to get out of it. The perfect place to ask my partner to marry me. 😊💍 We'll be back.

Cascade Creek is simply stunning. We had a girls weekend here with 6 of us over Queens birthday weekend and it was just amazing. Attention to detail cant be faulted and every little thing has been thought of down to cozy slippers and a DIY decadent hot chocolate making kit. Just WOW, try it for yourself!

Sooo relaxing - in a stunning environment! We had a great weekend at Cascade Creek Retreat. A beautiful off the grid lodge, lots of attention to detail, roaring fire place and outside baths. We did several walks from the retreat and we didn't see one other person or house (just some sheep!) Will be back for a weekend of total relaxation...

We had the best of time here. Such a beautiful and serene place to get away from the concrete jungle and just enjoy the simple things in life. Take the time to track the nearby trails... but avoid the sheep poop mines :) we'll definitely be back. Better than any 5 star hotel.

Took my husband there for our wedding anniversary we had a fantastic stay the log cabin had some many extra effort touches to it which made our stay even better. The bird life is amazing and the tranquility even better.
