Absolutely amazing experience for our family! Up close and personal with seals, dolphins and sting rays. We had coffee and hot chocolates on a deserted sandy beach. Stunning scenery. Brad was an awesome and down to earth guide. Absolutely recommend :)
P.
All the staff are super friendly and helpful and the trip was amazing! There's even a food truck on site and the burgers are huge!
A.
It was so much fun and hot chocolate was so delicious! Brad is a really nice guide. he know well about birds and marine plants! We really enjoyed ! It was full schedule and an economical price! I really recommend it!
C.
Really nice trip. NZ adventure tourism is built around guys like Brad. Definitely make that trip out to Marahau.
P.
Steve looked after us today and was just superb. Chilled but professional and had all the family engaged and having an amazing time. Thanks team.

This is the best location to paddle. We had the best safety instruction I have ever had, filled with humor. Boats were in clean and overall good conditions if you consider that they must be used daily.
We freedom kayaked for one day what came out to be about 6 hours (you have to be back by 4pm) but if you're not having more time in this region and are not often on the water that seems to be enough to me.
You are going to see blue water, golden beaches that are only accessible from the water, rocks with seals on it...
One of the best experiences of my New Zealand trip.
Thank you!
And when your arms are tired, you can have one of the best burgers at "the fat tui" which you can find right on the car park.
A.
Very nice staff and kayaks although I am terrible at it but can't blame anyone but myself😂
It's a very good kayak company I recommend it, you can also find reductions on sites like bookme or Groupon :) we paid full price for a day (from 8.30 to 4pm), didn't think about checking first haha. We paid $75 each, you can have it for about $50-$55!

We had an excellent trip to Adele Island and Observation Bay. The guides really looked after us. We were intrigued to see the kayaks returning to Marahau on the watertaxi.
L.
A really well organised and professional company with a brilliant guide, Tyler. We chose the Southern blend and kayaked north to Observation Beach passing the Fur Seal colony and then took the walking track back south in the afternoon. Our guide was really informative and good fun and set a good pace for the group. The group size was small which was a big bonus as we are terrible kayakers! This trip is a really good choice if you only have a short time in Abel Tasman as you get to see some spectacular scenery from both the kayak and the track.
R.
Great day paddling around the coastline seeing lots of the wildlife and some fur seal colonies. The guides are super friendly and make the day very enjoyable! Book at Kahu!
J.
Lots to east see and do. Reasonable prices and parking food and equipment looks good. By bridge on way to Park entrance at Marahau.
Water taxi as well which can be economical if you have a big group ,5 or more.
G.
The full day kayaking experience was stunning. The staff was kind enough, nice and really fun. I definitely recommend this guys!
D.
We did the full day tour marine reserve tour which was awesome. Our guide Matt was really good, the included lunch was delicious.
J.
We rented the kayak for a day and saw dolphins and seals. Really a great time, beautiful place.
R.
We’ve had an incredible time with Brad in booking a half-day family package during April’s school holidays.
Having two young kids (9 and 5) Brad was not only very knowledgable of the region’s wildlife and the great spots to paddle around, but he was also very friendly and professional with all age groups.
Nothing was a problem and always friendly and genuine to explain things and making sure we were having a great time.
Totally recommended!
A.
Such a cool experience! Brad was an awesome guide and made a bloody good salty latte
J.
From start to finish Brad was the perfect tour guide, unfortunately the rain was pouring when we arrived so Brad gave us a few options to go out, money back or change the date.
We decided to carry on and go out as we were only in the area for the day and boy it was worth it!
Brad talked us through all the health and safety elements and ensured we had all the right gear on to stay warm and dry. The trip was great we passed lots of interesting shoreline, birds, wildlife and of course the famous slip Apple rock.
Brad took the time to tell us stories, legends and myths and took lots of photos for us before heading back for a warm shower and brilliant hot chocolate!
Can't wait to go back in the sunshine to see it all again, we'd highly recommend Kahu Kayaks and can't wait to use them again!

We had a great kayaking trip on 30 December, and lucked out with the weather. We were a little slower than other kayakers, and unfortunately our Guide Kegan did not stay back with us or kayak back to us to see if we were OK - this worried us especially when the Guide led us out to choppy open water and did not come back to see if we were OK as we were having trouble controlling the kayak. It would have been great if the Guide gave a bit more commentary about the geology/history of the area - as we were a little slower than others in the Group we often missed what the Guide was saying to the others. Otherwise we had a fantastic lunch (would have been nice if the lunch was a little bit longer). And the company and staff were very friendly.
a.
We had a 1 day freedom kayak rental. It was amazing. Staff very friendly, helpful and funny. I would definitely recommend! It was a beautiful day of exploring Abel Tasman. We saw seals, beautiful beaches and also playful dolphins.
D.
Wow! This kayak tour was worth every cent.
The team were awesome, yummy easy lunch, equipment felt safe to me (first time on a tour) and the location location location was sensational.
You need to be on the boat and kayak to understand just how beautiful our sea in NZ is. Such an honor to be close up (not too close) to nature's creatures.
We were lucky to be out on a beautiful calm day, I would check the weather before you go because it may get scary.
Once you're out there, you're out there.
K.
Fantastic experience! We did the half day kayak and walk freedom tour. It was just perfect from start to finish. The staff were awesome; friendly and well-informed. They gear provided was good quality and well-maintained. They got us started as soon as we arrived with instructions and a safety briefing and then left us to our own devices.
R.
Great service.
We felt very safe and enjoyed our time
D.
Amazing day out highlight of the holiday made better by exceptional guides. Very trust worthy

Our Kayaking tour was without doubt our favourite part of our few weeks in NZ - stunning scenery and the chance to get up close with local wildlife (Seals, Shags, starfish, possibly penguins and even Orcas apparently). We did the Southern Blend half day - started with a great ride out on a water taxi out to Observation beach where we waited for the other couple who would be on our tour to join us (they had walked in). Whilst we waited our guide, Troy - who was superb) - fixed us up a coffee, freshly brewed on the beach. When the time gave us to launch he gave us a quick run down on the boats, how to fix the splash deck and a short paddling lesson and then off we went! The tour was relaxing and fun with Troy leading us around the islands in the bay and recounting endless brilliant stories either of the area or his experience. It was such a great afternoon I will remember for years to come. EXTREMELY highly recommended!!
Z.
great company, very well organized and the area is amazing, make sure you get to see the seals at Adele Island!
L.
It was beautiful! A must do if you're in New Zealand
S.
We had a wonderful experience kayaking with Kahu Kayaks. It was nice to have a small group of only ourselves. Our guide, Keegan, was amazing and made sure we were all entertained.
P.
Big thanks to Brad & the team. We had the best time ever. We felt save and relaxed at all times. Brad you had so much patience with the kids and they are driving me crazy to book our next trip. 🤣 Thanks
S.
Really friendly team, good briefing at the start and excellent experience kayaking to Watering Cove via Adele Island to see the fur seals
K.
Our Kayak Tour was amazing!! Lucy was a great guide teaching us some local knowledge, when we stopped for a snack and swim she made us hot chocolates and coffee, the perfect length to Observation point and a glorious walk back! Would highly recommend Kahu Kayaks to anyone!
M.
Great bunch of people highly recommend. Went all out to make our trip what it could be, informative, friendly and loads of insight of places to kayak etc. Definitely go with these guys!
N.
Excellent! Brad was great and we got amazing weather 😊
T.
We had an amazing time. We did the 1/2 day kayaking, and it was incredible. Their guides are super nice and funny - especially Luke our guide. We even got a latte during our morning break. If you are going to do a guided trip on the Able Tasman go with Kahu!
P.
Fantastic trip on monday morning. Friendly, fun, supportive, helpful, respectful and safe guide. Great coffee. Stunning place to kayak.
C.
Great guides, kayak, coordination. What a fun day out in the most beautiful area!
P.
Hired a double kayak for a freedom trip over two - three days in early December 2019. This was the second time I've used Kuha Kayaks and again found their team friendly, helpful and responsive. Although the weather turned nasty, the Kahu team were flexible and changed the booking to suit. Thanks! Paul
M.
Did the swingers tour and really enjoyed - nice balance of hiking, boating, and kayaking. Great guide too!
A.
Highly recommended!!!!
M.
Fantastic guided kayaking tour experience and perhaps the best of all of the Abel Tasman tours we did. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Never realised just how stunning the Abel Tasman coastline was until I jumped on a kayak. Thanks for the amazing experience!
K.
3 hr one way guided kayak. Very happy we included this as part of our trip to NZ. The islands were beautiful and animals were cool, but what really made it was the fact that Troy was such a great guide.
S.
Awesome experience with down to earth staff. Highly recommend
T.
Very friendly and relaxed staff. It took us longer to pack everything and they didn't mind waiting at all. Also lent us a baseball cap, wind jackets and a small waterproof bag. They also helped us to plan our freedom tour. :)
P.
Cheapest place (booked with Motueka I-Centre) for paddling to Anchorage and leave the kayak to walk back. Friendly staff. Good explanations at the beginning of the day. We took an unguided tour because we wanted to be independent and that is not dangerous at all. Amazing day : sea, sun, seal, swim, magnificent coast. A must-do to discover Abel Tasman if you don’t have time for the great walk.
J.
Absolutely wonderful time had during our sea kayaking day tour in Abel Tasman as run by Kahu Kayaks. Really friendly team, efficient and the guided day tour was exceptional! Such a beautiful part of the world we live in! Thanks guys!
T.
Awesome day. Three hours kayak to Observation beach then 2.5 hour walk back. Beautiful trip with seals swimming near our kayaks. Ryan our guide for the morning trip was really cool .
L.
We had a fun day kayaking and then going on water taxi and spent a few hours in a beach. Highly recommend them!
S.
Truly awesome experience! Did the 3 day kayak tour that included the water taxi and so happy we got to get a proper feel for the Abel Tasman National Park and its coast in all of its glory! Thanks Stephen
T.
Great staff, nice equipment, and we loved the paddle. My one complaint is that their briefing for freedom kayaking took a long time (it took about 90 minutes from when we arrived to when we were in the water).
J.
You guys rock! Guide is awesome, perfect organization... The only thing is the price. It cost a leg to get some experience in Abel Tasman, same prices everywhere.
W.
We did a trip into the park with Kahu. The Abel Tasman was fantastic and had a great time with our guide. Probably one of the best days so far!
H.
Troy makes an amazing cuppa ☕
w.
Perfect combination with high quality and inexpensive price
M.
Good experience, $85 for whole day Kayak is reasonably priced. Enjoyed the trip, good staff, explained everything in detail..
R.
Amber was a great guide. We got lucky with our day. Amazing conditions to go out. Great way to see the marine reserve
F.
Friendly staff helping you even with more complicated requests. Kayaking experience is great and the company can arrange for you even camp site passes, kayak transfers, water taxi or baggage transfers through the park and all this for reasonable price.
L.

(Translated) Super guides who explain everything in detail before and also ride the first meters by kayak so that you can settle in. Then you can explore on your own the area around the Abel Tasman National Park, stopping at beaches or watching seals at the nearby islands. Then it goes back to the starting point. Costs were $ 80 per person for a day (up to 4pm). Alternatively, you can also go incl. Kayak to one of the beaches and drive from there or vice versa. A great experience!
(Original)

(Translated) An absolute must at Abel Tasman.
The organization is perfect from the time of booking. Super friendly, competent team. Explain and demonstrate everything in great detail and thus provide security. On the water you will be accompanied for a few minutes while paddling freely.
Also suitable for beginners.
Thank you for the beautiful day. A great team.
Definitely book kahu kayaks ... it is definitely worth it.

(Translated) Very friendly and competent team. We were able to take a tour with our 6 year old daughter, the only ones in the area to offer for such young children.

(Translated) Take responsibility for life travel. It's really great. Be sure to do it, do it twice more. If you have a good smile, you can see killer whales, seals are basic.
