R.Fantastic service, door to door transport, great bikes and they were also able to accommodate 2 of our group who wanted their own bikes. Great bikes and e bikes, very helpful when someone got a puncture too. Would highly reccomend
C.I had a great experience with Takaro Trails doing the 3 pub 3 winery ride. We had a group of 22 and Karen was super easy to sort out all the logistics with for getting to the start of the ride. On the day Rog was very informative on where we were going and was helpful when we got lost. Overall was a great experience and would definitely use them again.
J.Had the absolute best time using Takaro Trails. Rodger picked us up right on time, was incredibly lovely and knowledgeable. Bikes and kit were in great condition, we had no issues through our day journey. Couldn’t fault the service at all. The pick up and drop off system was the cherry on top. Also, all comms and the booking process in advance was quick and easy. Would highly recommend.

J.We loved this tour. The electric bikes were fun and easy to use (our first time). Customer service was excellent, the bikes were all set up for us, and the bike trails go through beautiful scenery. Our three teenagers loved the markets which were on at Black Barn Winery (we enjoyed a wine tasting while they ate French crepes). We had booked Clearview Estate for lunch and had a leisurely lunch there in the afternoon. A beautiful way to see the Hawkes Bay scenery while enjoying great wine and food. On our tour was another couple who had done the tour last year and were back to go to the wineries they had missed. We are intending to do the same on our next trip.
T.What a fantastic weekend we have had. We arrived knowing no one in our tour group, and finished as friends.
Roger and Karen were awesome hosts, nothing was too much trouble, and were flexible to the groups needs. For example, Tony picked up everyones wine purchases from a vineyard. Tony also made sure we got to the last vineyard in time for the wine tasting before they closed.
The accommodation at The Crown was excellent.
And the wine tour. So many vineyards, so little time. We are simply going to have to come back again.

Q.Great service, quality bikes, and a lovely trail. Wish we had more time. If you’re planning lunch at one of the wineries, I’d go for a later booking 2/2:30 to allow ample time to do tastings and relax along the route.

L.Just completed a 4 night 3 day cycling experience through takaro trails. Had a wonderful time we were kept informed daily by hosts. From 56yrs to 76yrs a group of 6 , our 75yr old completed on a road bike ( mind u she is a wonder woman) in many ways! Thanku an experience we will never forget!!
E.These guys were fantastic! They sorted out a group of us with pick up and drop of, ebikes, standard bikes and maps of the area with great tips of where to eat and the best vinyards. Nothing was too much trouble, friendly and professional, would highly recommend!
S.This is the third time that we’ve done the Cape to Sea wine tour ride - we love this ride. Bikes are great, staff have excellent knowledge not just of the vineyards but other activities we can do in HB. Roger goes above and beyond and even dropped us back to our accomodation with our many bottles of wine! Totally recommend Takaro Trails.

A.Friendly and helpful service from the team at Takaro Trail Cycle Tour. $65 for four hours with very good e bikes that were easy to use. Tracks are all well sign posted so it's hard to get lost!

Easy riding, comfortable & so scenic!. Lovely vineyards & delicious pizza at the end at The Awanga. Really recommend a wee bike around The Awanga village by the sea as well. Picked up on perfect time & great chatting all the way back to hotel. Loved our day
F.From the moment we wondered in to enquire about what was on offer we felt at home and at ease.
With the help of the lovely staff we selected the tour we wanted to do, booked it in and we set for the next day.
On arrival everything was ready, we were given great instructions and set free to explore. Riding and wine tasting was a great way to spend a day.
Roger was amazing on pickup, he loaded the bikes while we finished our lunch and took us back to base.
All in all a very enjoyable day, we will be back to do more of the trails on offer.

J.As a couple of novice e-bikers we were a little uncertain of what to expect but Roger & Karen were quick to put our minds at ease giving us detailed instructions on the bike operations and the route we were about to take.
As a result we had a fabulous experience and now can't wait to get our own e-bikes.
E.What a wonderful tour, I got this as a gift and this tour was the highlight of my trip to Napier.
We got picked up from our accommodation on time and headed out to the black barn to start our trip. The bikes were all ready to go and had the essential wine bag attached to the bike so we could fill it up with wines as we made our way through the vineyards.
Everything was perfectly timed and when we got to the last vineyard the minivan was ready and waiting to drop us back to our accommodation.
I highly recommend this tour.
C.We have just returned from an epic 4 days in the Hawkes Bay, on the '2 Day Baycation' tour. The Takaro team were awesome from our pick up at the airport, settling us in the Crown Hotel, organising our E-bikes for our multiple sizes. To taking us for a wander around the Farmers market before delivering us back to the airport. We had history lessons along the way. Also the E-bikes were magic!
The region was beautiful, turning on it's best for us. Super scenery, weather, vineyards, restaurants and fantastic trails. Our group all had a wonderful time and I think we may be back in the future for more fun times.
A.We did two wonderful days of riding with Takaro tours. Karen and Roger were easy to contact, gave us great advice about the rides, set us up really quickly with bikes and we were on our way! It was all very easy and great fun.

S.14 ladies cycled for 4 days. Roger was amazing-nothing was too much trouble: he picked us up and dropped us off at the airport, he delivered bikes and bags as required, he picked us up if we couldn’t complete the full days cycle. He changed the flat tire of my personal bike and stored the box until needed to repackage at the airport. He is kind and considerate. I would highly recommend Takaro Trails. You would be hard pressed to find a better tour company. Thank you Roger

The bikes were in excellent condition and we really enjoyed the whole day in beautiful sunny Hawke’s Bay. We will definitely be back to redo this tour with the guys and are glad to support a family owned company who work hard to ensure you have the best experience.
We went to their Cycle base at Ahuriri, two days later and hired some bikes for a few hours to cycle around Napier for a bit. This time, we were attended to by Karen and enjoyed the same care and attention. Will absolutely be back to do this again in the near future.

I also had a cyclist in our private group unsure if she could go the distance, and Karen offered to collect her, if she needed help.I fell off my bike right outside the premises at the start of our ride. A.We had an awesome day with Takaro Trails on Friday. Karen and Roger organised a Christmas work doo for 25 of us. We used a mixture of ebikes and nonpowered bikes which were all in great condition. Every individual got all the help they required to master the ebikes (easy). We biked from Ahuriri with a stop off at the Mission, for a glass of bubbles and toasts, then off to the Puketapu pub for dinner. Even the unfit managed this 24 km with ease on the ebikes. Roger picked up all the bikes from there. We didn’t need transport but the service was there if needed. Thanks Roger and Karen. Think everyone is keen for a repeat next Christmas.
T.We did the Cape Coast 16km winery ride and the experience was an awesome fun day out in the fabulous Hawkes Bay. Booking was made easy by great communication from Karen and our driver Tony was friendly and informative with helpful advice for our ride.

N.We had a great day cycling with Takaro Trails this week. Both Roger and Karen were extremely helpful and the App download worked a treat. I hadn't ridden a bike for many years but the 25-28km wetlands / wineries / Taradale and ending at the Puketapu Pub (a classic with a great pork roast) route was perfect for us - including our 11 year old. You get to see estuary /wetlands / birds / farmland and lovely cherry blossoms in Taradale. The cycle track along the river was not right next to the river which I would have liked but you still have river peaks and lots of trees. The bikes were all in very good condition and we had a very comfortable ride back in the car on the return trip. A great way to spend the day - thank you!

They were super accommodating - we also organised for them to take us to the airport post our cycle wine tour. Highly recommend and will definately be using them again next trip to the Hawkes Bay.

S.Takaro trails set us up with bikes and took us to the first vineyard and collected us at a vineyard at the end of the day. The more than 16km cycle from start to finish was an easy ride but difficult to do in the timeframe. It was not easy to find anywhere for lunch as the first 3 vineyards didn’t serve lunch and the last two were completely booked out. There were loads of cyclists on the same trail so the wine tastings took a long time as well. We probably would not do this wine tasting trip again but would do other cycle trails.

E.Really friendly staff who got us sorted with bike rentals and a great route for a loop around the area complete with wine tasting and an ocean ride. The bikes and helmets were both in excellent condition and even came with a fancy computer. Good prices for four hours as well.

E.Stumbled on this place while I was walking around... got a 4 hour bike rental for $30 (they even picked the bike up from my motel when I was finished since I was close by!). Great deal and a wonderful way to see the village and Napier. They included a helmet and bike lock with a little backpack attached near the wheel (perfect for my shopping purchases). Super easy and friendly!
