Ross’ tour is amazing! He goes above and beyond. He has a vast knowledge of the area and takes you to a private vineyard area for cheese and wine. He’s really a top guy.. 100% recommend

I would take this wine tour again. Ross was a fun and engaging guide who took us round three wineries. Each winery was unique and there was even a chance to sample beer at the Urban winery in town (gin coming soon). After the third stop at Linden, Ross took us to a special spot overlooking vines (he planted himself) for one last wine and a second cheese board (the first platter at Mission was crazy good). Five stars.

Ross is your man. I have been on one of Ross' wine tours twice now. The first with my mum on a group tour and the other was a private tour. Ross is amazing with communication, really professional and quite clearly loves what he does. I will absolutely be recommending Ross to anyone I know heading to Hawkes Bay. We had an amazing time with Ross visiting 3 great vineyards. The tours were very entertaining and informative. Our russian grandfather who does not speak much English still had an amazing time despite the language barrier. Would highly recommend.

Great little tour. We were lucky enough to have just two other people on the tour, and maybe we timed it right at the wineries as we were often the only ones at the tasting counter so we could spend as much time as we wanted and ask all the stupid questions we liked! All four wineries were great and having a chat at the final stop with the wine, cheese and crackers just felt so natural with our group. Thanks Tere!

Our situation: we'd been to Hawkes Bay before and had been to many of the wineries ourselves. Our issue: On our second visit, we wanted to do some wineries off the beaten track we hadn't visited, but didn't want to rent a car. Our solution: Vines and Views. We were able to have a personal wine tour with our own itinerary. When one of our chosen wineries no longer did tastings, we were given an excellent alternative. The result: an amazing day! Our guide was laid back enough to stand back and let us decide for ourselves about the wine (much appreciated). Then we got to the Esk Valley, where he used to work, we were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour. After three wineries, we were taken to a special high hilltop platform to enjoy a bottle of wine and nibbles with an incredible view of the coastline and the hills. The platform is covered, surrounded by bushes tall enough to block the wind, creating an oasis of still and shade in a sunny, breezy place. As we sat there enjoying the view, wine, and appetizers, we had swallows darting around us and hawks soaring by. It may well be one of the top outdoor venues we have ever seen. It's no surprise we are giving this five stars. In fact, just for that hilltop deck experience, it is worth choosing Vines and Views. Plus, our host (I'm sorry I don't remember his name), was perfect. Definitely one of our favorite New Zealand experiences.
