We got extremely lucky when a local shared with us Paul's contact information. We weren't going to make the morning bus to Abel Tasman, and we called Paul to see if he was free to show us around. Turns out he was, and he's an excellent guide for the area. He knew all the best locations, showed us some hidden secrets, shared the history, and we had a tight timeline because on of our colleagues had a flight later that evening -- and we still got a chance to hike the Abel Tasman trail. Would highly recommend if you want a flexible and local view into the city and park. He also does trips all around New Zealand -- will consider this for the next trip out!
