Reviews of Sail Barbary eco-sailing Taupo
T.
What a simply magic experience.
There are many cruises to choose from at Lake Taupo. We decided on Sail Barbary as we felt a sailboat just had that extra personality and elegance.
It's about the journey not the destination right?
But what a beautiful destination it was at the carvings and easily the most refreshing swim of my life.
We learnt a lot and laughed a lot.
Thank you guys for a memory we will treasure.
K.
Amazing experience! Best boat company to take to see the rock carvings. Friendly, funny and informative staff. Was so fun to be on a sailboat and jump in for a swim by the carvings. Highly recommend.
G.
A really relaxing way to get out to the Maori carvings. The electric engine is quiet yet powerful and once you are out on the lake the sails kick into action and the lapping of the water. The booking system is easy and the experience on the water is safe and enjoyable. I’d recommend this for anyone keen to see the carvings.
B.
Had an awesome experience.
Glad to chose this eco- sailing boat which is so quite.
Shout-out to the skipper of the day Chris who has good sense of humour.
C.
An excellent experience to see Lake Taupo and the Maori rock carvings. If you like sailing, yachts, or just wanting a relaxing/peaceful electric boat trip, this ticks the box! Chris, the captain, was an expert in navigating the boat and waters, as well as being a great guide, explaining the rock carvings, the landscape, Taupo/Maori history, and sharing other local insights and suggestions. Despite the winds, we got up close to the carvings and for a decent amount of time to take plenty of photos and videos and enjoy the moment.
K.
It was a lovely 2.5 hours sailing with Sail Barbary. The boat is eco friendly, very quiet engine, sleek looking, plenty of space and most importantly, pet friendly. The skipper is so professional, friendly, and expert in navigating the boat. The trip was so relaxing, breezy, with a lovely weather and great value. Definitely will recommending everyone going to Taupo to sail with Sail Barbary.
S.
Fun trip sailing on the Barbary out to the Maori rock carvings. There wasn't too much wind but the skipper used the sails and quiet electric engine to help us along. We got a great close view of the rock carvings. Water looked lovely for a swim if it had been warmer weather. Comfortable seating around the boat. The cabin was well equipped with a toilet and facilities to make a hot drink. The skipper was very friendly and knowledgeable.
C.
Awesome trip, you totally get your money's worth! It was so nice to have a dip in the lake included
S.
Had an amazing day on Lake Taupó today with Barbary Eco Sailing and hosted by Skipper Pete. We had great fun, great weather and Skipper Pete was a fountain of local knowledge. We will definitely go again, and happily recommend this experience to anyone who wants a fun day on the lake.
C.
Thoroughly enjoyed this experience and definitely a must do in Taupo. First time on a sailboat and the guide was informative and really funny, great way to see the moari carvings and relax in the evening! Would recommend highly! Thanks!
W.
We went on the electrical yacht Sail Barbary to the carving rocks, with skipper Chris. It wasn't the nicest day, it drizzled a bit, but Chris has made the experience great: nice stories about the cannings and the sailing was very pleasant.
A.
What an amazing experience! We were very lucky to get a gorgeous day. Kerry, our captain/guide was wonderful. We loved his sailing adventure stories (he’s been around the world!) and all the great information he provided about Lake Taupo, the Maori rock carvings, and surrounding area. We were even provided warm blanket-like ponchos which was much appreciated. All in all a fantastic day, so relaxing. What a great memory this will be :) Thanks!
S.
We booked a trip on the boat to take the visiting in-laws out for a few hours to see Taupo.
The sky was cloudy, wind cold but Chris the captain kept us interested and enjoying the beautiful lake . We was grateful and impressed that they provided warm waterproof ponchos to keep in our body heat in.
This trip was informative and relaxing. The boat is just beautiful. Chris is great at his job and a fabulous host. We will be back in the summer.
J.
Highly recommend... Loved this trip . Great value for money. 2.5 hour cruise to see the carving with a small crew of people. Can byo food and booze:) but available to buy aswell. Borrowed a towel from Matt and jumped in. The water was amazing. Swam under the boat which was very special. Various places to sit for different experiences. Splashed at the front or chill at the back out of the breeze. Thanks guys I had a great time.
D.
Great trip to the Maori rock carvings. Very relaxed sailing and the skipper was very good. Much better than a motorised boat trip. Got a hot drink thrown in. Recommended.
D.
Wow!!!!! I mean wow!!! What an amazing sailing. The service was great. The owner was amazing. Be ready for a crazy fun sailing when u get in the middle of Lake Taupo. The owner made us all comfortable and heaps fun. He even gets you to pilot the Yacht back. Will do this again.
E.
Captain Sarah was THE BEST! Such a beautiful cruise around Taupo made even more enjoyable by the fact our skipper grew up there. She actually sailed on the Barbary as a girl and was very knowledgeable about both the ship and the lake. Bonus: She stopped the Barbary to retrieve a large plastic bag that was floating in the lake, demonstrating the importance of kaitiakitanga/good stewardship. Great experience not to be missed!
T.
It was such a wonderful experience for three seniors. Sailing in the shower and raining day was fun. The host was full of knowledge and experience, with the sense of humour. Of course the Maori Carving Rock is amazing.
J.
Had a great 2.5 hours out on the sail boat yesterday with Peter, Chris and the dozen or so other guests.
Out of all the tour operators taking people out to the Maori Carvings I went with Sail Barbary as they're emissions free and that was a great idea.
L.
A wonderful experience travelling under sail or electric motor...so peaceful. We were in Taupo in January 2020 and were so very fortunate that the day we went out was a perfect, sunny with almost not a breath of wind so had to use the motor in parts. The wind picked up a little on the way back to port which meant that we could travel under sail. For the majority of the trip the lake was like glass. The Maori carvings were quite spectacular, very interesting how they came about.
Captain Kerry was a bit of a character with a good sense of humour as well as having a wealth of information about the lake and its history. Highly recommend.
R.
One of the best trips of lake Taupo! Very skilled staff and very good eco silent yacht. Wonderful experience all together and highly recommend to others.
A.
What an experience. Due to inclement weather we were treated to some rough waters that made the whole experience feel more like the Sydney to Hobart than a leisurely yacht ride on a lake. Luckily the skipper had fashionable waterproof ponchos for myself and the rest of the crew, so we were able to survive the worst of it. In typical NZ fashion, we had hot sun, then rain, then almost sleet, then wind, then sun again. My feet got wet and the water left an unfortunate mark right down the middle of my rear end. We had a great time and the experience was well worth the admission price. Highly recommended.
A.
Sail boat is actually motorised boat. But very quiet. 2.5 hours of cruise is bit boring, whole trip is consist of return cruise and spend around 10~15 minutes on Maori wall carving .
J.
Sailed on 13/12/2018 to the Maori Rock Carvings. Excellent day out in lake Taupo with a friendly and incredibly experienced skipper that made sailing look easy (though it really isn’t)
m.
What an amazing day on the lake. Wonderful weather and lovely people we sailed with. The carvings were amazing and the water crystal clear. If you have a chance to go, you should!!
E.
An excellent morning out on the lake. Very enjoyable and so much nicer on a sail boat than the other motorized tourist vessels. Great value.
T.
I love being able to sail with these guys. The captain was so accommodating and made sure we were all comfy. Glad to be able to see that Māori carving. What a special day.
D.
This is an amazing experience and a different way to see Lake Taupo and the Maori rock carvings. We experienced slight rough conditions with both wind and rain but didn't let that take away from the experience. They provide warm dry ponchos if needed. If you want to see the rock carvings and nothing else then try else where, but if you want to EXPERIENCE the lake and see some amazing sights then Sail Barbary is a must in Taupo
R.
We had a truly excellent trip on Barbara. The boat is fantastic, skipper is great and very knowledge and we swam from the boat. Definitely make sure to take swimming gear!
M.
The captain made the trip with her stories knowledge of the area and knowledge of the carvings, highly recommend, the views were magnificent. Hot or cold drinks are included in the price. Ponchos and blankets are a must on a chilly day on the lake
s.
We went on Sail Barnaby for a tourism school trip and I can confidently say that each and everyone of us enjoyed ourselves and loved having a close look at the beautiful carvings their crew take you to see. I personally went on the power boat which was relaxing and enjoyable. We went on the very top deck because it was such a beautiful day, skipper Peter even played some good tunes for us all which we had a blast listening to while out on Lake Taupo. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity from Peter our skipper to be able to have a quick swim which I highly recommend! A few of us were hesitant because Lake Taupo is known to be not the warmest outside of summer, however skipper Peter convinced us! Peter said it’s an experience like no other so that really pushed us to have a quick jump in Lake Taupo off the boat. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and a special thank you to Skipper Peter and Tiffany at Sail Barnaby.
D.
Nice 2.5 hours ride in a sunny day... staff on board was very informative and friendly. There’s complementary tea and coffee on board
V.
Thank You for being the only boat going out to the lake during the week. Everyone else only run on weekends at the moment due to less visitors. We are so lucky to get Cary and Matt who gave us a fun and exciting ride.
T.
A must do when in Taupo. It was such an amazing experience! We started sailing with good sunshine but unfortunate it rained although it didnt stop us from having fun. We had a complimentary drink and fleeced lined poncho to keep us warm and dry. Captain Keri/Kerry was very informative about the Maori Carvings. It was spectacular. When the music was turned on. We dance and sang our hearts away. The Captain even showed us how to feed the ducks mid air. Very cool. Definitely recommending this adventure.
A.
Truly awesome experience sailing with them and without noisy engines. Recommended 100%.
B.
One of the top activities you can do in Taupō, the best way to see the lake and visit the carvings. Great value for money and an eco responsible company too which is great!
K.
A must do in Taupo! Stunning weather, wonderful experience on a sail yacht skipper was very welcoming & knowledgeable Thank You!
Maori Carvings were beautiful.
highly highly recommend!
D.
Thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing and interesting journey around to the historic carvings, fed ducks on the fly, all under sail or electric power, brilliant!
S.
20 of us girls were celebrating a hens do and booked a 2 1/2 hour cruise with Kerry and Craig who were our skippers on the trip. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and even participated in our games and gave the Bride-to-be awesome tips on what to look forward to and tips to help with a happy marriage as they are both happily married 40+ years!!. We went around to the maori carvings which were simply spectacular. We all enjoyed our time on The Barbary, I used to work in Taupo on the cruises a few years and it took me back like i had never left. So thank you very much for your awesome hospitality and patience with the rowdy lot! 😁
F.
The trip roughly took 2.5 hours to completed, during the whole trip the captain was patient and friendly. He shared lots of fun stories and historical event to us. The Maori carving was also a fun experience.
However, this trip for me and my gf wasn’t that enjoyable. Both of us get really serious seasickness as the sail boat goes all the way up and down, because of the waves in Lake Taupo. Captain gave me some lemon-ginger flavor biscuit to get over it. (Thanks for that, but it really doesn’t work for me....)
A little suggestion to the owner: Get some seasickness pills on board might help the people like me, REALLY.
This was really not a fun trip for me, but it should be for others. BTW, you can get 4G access during your trip on Lake Taupo, that’s impressive...
M.
Beautiful sunny day, and it was an awesome sail out to Maori carvings. The skipper was friendly and gave us informative tidbits about the area, the lake, the carvings etc.
Enjoyed it so much, that I'd probably do it again
Thank you Sail Barbary
J.
Amazing experience! Staff are experienced and knowledgeable and are just great hosts. Smooth sailing and breathtaking sights - best activity to do in Taupo! I have been all around NZ and this is the only place you can do something like this. Highly recommended!
A.
We had fantastic time! The Pirate tour package was reccomended. Captain Kerry gave us rum and we sang all the old pirate songs! The magic carvings are so cool in the rock.nice to see and such history. I will come again
B.
The sailboat cruise around Lake Taupo was absolutely beautiful. The Maori carvings were very impressive and the shadows of snow capped Tongariro National Park were breath-taking. The captain was very knowledgeable about the carvings and Lake Taupo in general. However, as soon as we told the captain we were American, we regretted it instantly. Constant jokes, ignorance and talk about controversial issues, really put a downer on our cruise, even though we expressed very liberal views. If you're American, tell him you're Canadian. Other than that, bring lots of beers and enjoy the easy sail!
R.
Great tour and excellent service. Loved every minute of it
G.
I really wanted to like this experience but it just wasn't that great. The captain could have made the tour a lot more interesting by sharing more information about the lake and region, he pretty much only talked about the rock carvings. It sort of felt like you were in your friends boat as a favor. This is just a boat ride around a beautiful lake, not a tour. They also charged to bring an infant onboard which seemed unusual and the other companies here do not do that.
M.
Over the course of 2.5 hours we peacefully sailed up Lake Taupo towards the Maori carvings and back. The open deck boat was comfortable and in the setting evening sun it was an incredibly relaxing experience with a beer or glass of wine in hand. Our skipper Jamie was a great host, sharing some sailing and local knowledge, putting everyone at ease and letting people relax.
We took the 5pm cruise and recommend it as the perfect way to relax after a hard day in Taupo! Booking is as advised as our cruise was full even in early November.
(Note: You're free to bring your own food and drink)
C.
Incredible experience with very knowledgeable and funny skipper Chris. Highly recommend to everyone. The journey to, and the Māori rock carvings, are both well worth it.
B.
Had the loveliest sail on the Barbary. We did a 2pm sail, it was pleasant weather. The tour was not rushed, and we enjoyed a very casual trip up to the carvings, we spent about 20 minutes near the carvings just taking in the view and getting in photos. But what really made the trip was our guide! She was so witty and unscripted, and very knowledgeable about the lake and the carvings. Offered lots of opportunities to ask questions, and pulled out a map to show us the magnitude of the lake. She was so genuine and we thoroughly enjoyed her company. Definitely book with Barbary for your sail!
P.
This was a lovely cruise out to the Maori carvings on the lake, with pizza provided. Cruises are BYOB, so feel free to bring a bottle of beer or wine with you to enjoy. Also bring a swimsuit, as you may get the chance to swim in the lake near the carvings, if the weather is good. I highly recommend going around sunset, as the views on the lake can be pretty incredible. The captains are very knowledgeable and friendly, and it's definitely worth having a conversation with them.
L.
One of the best things I've done on the North Island in New Zealand. The views over Lake Taupo and Tongariro are absolutely stunning. Our amazing skipper Peter shared many interesting facts about the area but also sustainability and preservation programs with us. Sail Barbary is a fully electric sailing boat, which made our journey even more peaceful. We even had a hot drink at the Maori Carvings! I can only recommend this eco-friendly, informative and beautiful tour!
R.
We loved this experience, especially thanks to the captain Kerry who was very charming with all the crew. He was explaining to us many things about the lake, the vulcanology of the area and Maori rocks carvings all the time. In fact, I was so lucky to sit close the rudder of the boat, because I could sail the boat by myself following of course, Kerry's instructions. Almost at the end, he offered us a snack and a drink to warm up ourselves, despite the wonderful day that we had. We spent two hours and a half feeling like home, when I used to sail with my godfather in the Mediterranean sea. This is why I want to finish this review saying that the importance of this journey is not only to see the amazing Maori rocks carvings, but also how to go and come back, and Sail Barbary with great people like Kerry offer to visitors a huge added value.
N.
Took a trip out to the Maori carvings on the Barbary back in April. I don’t remember her name but the lady who sailed us out was so good, she gave out lots of info about the boat/lake/carvings. The boat ride itself was very smooth and enjoyable, not rushed at all. You get plenty of opportunities to take amazing pics and vids. I would highly recommend this tour!
A.
Great tours, great crew we had an absolute ball of a time even if the weather didn't agree with us. The guys were really accommodating to my family especially my 4 month old. The only issue with the trip was the deckhands average DJ skills and the ducks were too lazy to fly to the boat at the start.
J.
Great boat, great hosts. Fantastic way to navigate Lake Taupō
Z.
Went in late fall so it was a bit cooler but they had parkas aboard to keep you warm if you’re cold. Really relaxing afternoon, you can bring your own beers and snacks and the skipper was super chill. Great way to see the carvings!
T.
Awesome experience sailing on this yacht, Kerry was awesome and such a friendly guy. The sailing was great, great scenery too especially the Maori rock carvings.
M.
HIGHLIGHT OF OUR HOLIDAY!!!
Last week we had the absolute pleasure of sailing to the Maori rock carvings with ‘Sail Barbary eco-sailing Taupo’ with Chris as our skipper. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing that it was an eco boat and it shows the company is mindful of the environment and progressive towards a sustainable future. It also made for a surprisingly quiet and very relaxing journey. The carvings and experience of being on a sailboat was extraordinary and delightful.
I loved Chris’s commentary - educating us about the river, the lake, all the work that’s been done to keep the lake healthy, the trout, the nearby mountains and which million dollar houses to swim to in the event of a shipwreck (tehe). Chris had such a fantastic sense of humour that really set an awesome vibe. Also had a good ol banter about fishing with my partner that made the trip extra enjoyable and genuine.
As tangata whenua, the most humbling and important part of this trip for me was Chris’s respectful, caring and truthful teachings of Tikanga Maori, Iwi legends and New Zealand's history. For example he taught everyone what and why the place is tapu. He taught the legend and scientific explanations of how lake Taupo was created. Best of all taught the CORRECT pronunciation of the word Taupo.
To me these things are SO important and I’m thrilled to know that kiwis and tourists are being taught this.
Chris’s mindset and teachings play a huge part in the positive direction we as New Zealanders are going and for this I am extremely grateful- you are true kaitiaki.
Thank you so much for such a brilliant experience!
Nga mihi nui
X.
A truly great experience, the captain was very funny and informative as well. The sail boat is so beautiful and uses an electric motor (when there's no wind) so no fuel stink which is top! and there's very little noise. Plus it belonged to Errol Flynn, how cool is that? :)
Then on the way back, after seeing the carvings (amazing work by the way) we just sailed back with the wind on our back. That was just amazingly relaxing and beautiful. You will wish it never ends.
M.
Great couple of hours on the lake. Chris our skipper was excellent... dry sense of humor but informative commentary. The carvings are exceptional and the highlight
A.
Amazing experience! Very friendly staff, great boat and carvings were cool. We were debating going on another cruise to the carvings but are so pleased that we picked this one because the others are diesel and are SO loud/you spend your time choking on diesel fumes. This was electric and peaceful.
K.
It was one of the best experiences I had in my life. I booked the sail for my birthday. Due to some reason, we could not take the sail and was shifted to another boat. It was awesome. It was 2.5 hours trip which is value for money. I took the last trip sunset Cruise. Pizzas and drinks onboard. Even had a choice of BYO. I sat on top part of the boat which was amazing. Also, specially thanks to Christopher who found my lost glasses which fell into the water on that evening and he swam to get it. The next morning I got a call that he found it. How amazing is that...Special thanks to him. I am so glad that I choose to do this experience this for my bday. From trip to our guide, everything was just perfect.
S.
Great experience. Kerry was fantastic, a great host who looked after us all well.
The boat was very comfortable and it was awesome to steer her back. Super friendly way to end the trip with postcards, hot drinks and discount to the hot pools. Thumbs up!
A.
We had a great time. Barbara our host was on her toes the entire trip and kept us engaged! It's not an easy job to talk continuously for hours while you are commanding a sail boat. But she made it look easy! Special thanks to her. We will return again!
G.
Great trip run by friendly, knowledgeable and great crew. Nice and easy to relax with the beautiful scenery including Tongariro National Park in the background. We chilled with a coupleof drinks and jumped off the bow sprit into the lake in front of the awesome Maori carvings. Awesome sunset across the lake. Nice, warm and comfy fleece-lined ponchos to keep you warm on the sail back. Great experience.
H.
Kerry and Craig were fabulous skippers for our hens party on Saturday afternoon. We were all a bit nervous but you both made us feel secure and comfortable, thank you so much for participating in our game! And accomodating our requests. Awesome sound system and beautiful ride!
A.
Had a great day out sailing today with our skipper Chris. Very informative and entertaining. Will be recommending to anyone visiting the area.
F.
Great experience, best if you take the 5 pm tour to see sunset
s.
Thank you so much for a great day 🙂 we both really enjoyed our boat trip with you guys and the scenery and lake was beautiful. Good guys and great knowledge to. Will definitely be back with the kids in tow.
C.
Loved this cruise, very relaxing, the captain was it all, it’s a great way to experience the lake. An interesting fact is the sail boat use to be owned by Errol Flynn. Here is the photo of Errol at the helm located in the cabin.
T.
Paid to see maori carving but we only stopped there for less than 5 min. Smh
I.
Took my grandson out - the boat skipper was very friendly and even let my grandson steer the boat!
C.
We really enjoyed our time on the Barbary. Our skipper Sarah was relaxed and good humored. Being a well-travelled NZ’er herself she delivered a narration which put Lake Taupo in a global context.
L.
Wonderful experience! The journey was peaceful and beautiful, the skipper was awesome, eco friendly, all with a sunny day ! :) choose a summer day because cold might ruin your journey on the lake.
B.
We booked this to help celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Thanks so much for helping make this such a special day!
We were worried about doing this in the winter however it didn't matter. Cheers Chris to your banter and knowledge.
A.
Awesome morning spent on the Babary with my 5 year old son to visit the rock carving of Ngatoroirangi. The crew even let my son sail the boat back to Taupo. The lake jwas calm and the sun was out, little wind, so we had nice quiet electric motors to keep us moving.... wld love to go again next time we visit Taupo.
J.
Great trip out to see the rock carvings. Lovely afternoon out, great service and affordable
S.
Such a relaxing and romantic experience sailing on beautiful lake Taupo and an amazing opportunity to see the Maori rock carvings. I recomend this attraction to anyone traveling to Taupo.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE
AMAZING VIBE
AMAZING CREW
5 stars for me.
W.
Easy to find, great boat plenty of seats inside and out, Chris and Craig full of fun and useful information about lake. Maori carvings were excellent good trip
B.
A great way to see the carvings on lake Taupo. It’s relaxing under sail out into the lake. The staff were very friendly and gave a very informative history of the carvings. Highly recommended when in Taupo
R.
Very relaxing and enjoyable cruise around some of lake Taupo with plenty of interesting facts. I would definately recommend this to who anyone who would like to see the maori carving and some of the lake.
R.
Great sail on Barbary, even if the wind was light. Very helpful and knowledgeable owner skipper who had much to tell us about the lake and the rock carvings. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon for all on board.
D.
Totally relaxing and enjoyable 2.5hr cruis'n. Very informative without being overbearing interaction with the skipper Kerry. Highly recommend.
A.
Almost certainly the best way to see the Mine Bay rock carvings, in a beautiful sailboat with a friendly, skilled skipper. Watch out for huge variations in temperature and a searing sun in summer which it is hard to escape while lounging on the deck of this small yacht.
L.
My husband and I really enjoyed our cruise on the Barbary. It was a brilliant experience, the captain did a wonderful job to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. Definitely recommend this experience to anyone.
A.
Great kiwi blokes who managed to get us out to the carvings in slightly choppier lake conditions, well informed and laughable commentary as we cruised out, and topped it off with mulled wine and ginger nuts in a calm spot on the way in. Thanks to the team for a great afternoon out.
W.
What an amazing boat ride to see world renowned Mine Bay rock carvings
m.
This was a fantastic sail to the carvings. The captain was great and very informative. We were able to swim in the crystal blue water. It was a very relaxing way to spend a few hours.
M.
Sailing on Barbery with Sarah is like listing to Tui's in the spring.
Best lake experience in Taupo. Nice wine too.
S.
The best boat trip on the lake. Great value and awesome local knowledge. As a local to Taupo I can't recommend this trip enough. Lovely people running a cool local business.
M.
❤️❤️❤️ an amazing boat, an incredible crew, a beautiful weather, for an unforgetable Journey ! One of the best memory of my 4 weeks in New Zealand.
P.
A great trip.. Knowledgeable and friendly skipper.. Great commentary.. I really enjoyed sailing on the wind and electric powered yacht
M.
Because of the wind condition was upgraded to motor yacht. No regrets. Friendly boat captain.
R.
Highly recommend 👌 Such a great trip out on the lake with such a friendly and knowledgeable Skipper.
S.
Love the service and great to not smell any motor fuel and hearing engine noise on such a pristine lake (Lake Taupo). Their boats are electric powered.
N.
Great trip - crew friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable - was a lovely trip out to the cravings, with a stop for a swim on the way back - great value for money - totally enjoyed and would recommend to friends
K.
Crew was amazing and place is beautiful. Make sure the weather is good before you go sailing specially if you afraid of water like me 😁
A.
Weather was awesome to go for a cruise
J.
Slightly overpriced . Good info by Peter and good service by the volunteers. If it's not because of their aim and goal of making make lake Taupo clean I wouldn't pay that much
T.
Lovely Cruse and the captain was very knowledgeable about all things on the lake. Very relaxing afternoon.
T.
I went on a very misty, cold day and was not very prepared though it was fine because they have very warm, cosy ponchos.
P.
We did not have the opportunity to sail with them due to weather condition but offered and processed the refund quickly.
E.
Serene. Majestic. Relaxing.
Chris the skipper was very fun and informative. Thanks!
Nice and quiet ⛵
J.
This was such a great experience. Jumped in the water and it was freezing. Its BYOB and domino's which makes the whole thing amazing!
J.
Had fun and really a nice experience 😊
J.
One of the best things I did in New Zealand by far! Fun, relaxed and with a great skipper.

(Translated) The harbor in Taupo is very nice. While we waited for our boat tour to the Maori Rocks, we could enjoy nature. Just book a tour to the Maori rocks and enjoy it.

Der Hafen in Taupo ist sehr schön. Während wir auf unsere Bootstour zu den Maori Rocks warteten, konnten wir die Natur genießen. Bucht doch einfach auch eine Tour zu den Maori Felsen und genießt es einfach.

(Translated) Quiet and romantic sunset cruise to visit the Maori Carvings. A restful end of the day and a good moment of conviviality with the skipper and the other passengers around a few pizzas and drinks. Plan to cover yourself, the evening cruise is very cool.

(Translated) A very pleasant sailing trip to the Maori carvings. The ride can be a bit hectic if the weather is capricious, but that only makes the moment more fun :) We loved it

Une balade en voilier très agréable jusqu'aux maori carvings. La balade peut être un peu mouvementé si la météo est capricieuse, mais ça ne fait que rendre le moment plus amusant :) Nous avons adoré

(Translated) It was a very private and special sailing experience as we had to enjoy this trip in a rainy day. The host-Peter was friendly and accommodating, we had an amazing trip and had some good laugh. The tour was really informative and we feel really proud join the first eco sail boat experience, and also visited the same boat with many celebrities across different countries. We'll recommend to our friends for sure!
If you like the static humanistic journey, this sailing Maori mural experience you must not miss the owner very caring knowing that we can only make the trip on the day, even if it is only the three of us leaving the boat on a rainy day, he is willing to only accept us, but it is very conservative Credit merchants drank mulled wine in the cold weather. Only the three sisters had a very special experience with the private brother Peter. We also cared about our favorite music. The atmosphere was great and there were many celebrities in the history of the ship. The celebrity private sailboat Taiwanese model Sui Tang's clothing brand is also here to shoot images of Peters very well, so we all have a pleasant journey highly recommended!
