Gentleman at reception was friendly and chatty. The interior of the building could do with some TLC - carpet torn on one of the stairs we had to use, the tap at the sink worked well but was completely loose and could be lifted right up to expose the pipes, the bathroom has a mobile wooden shelf right beneath the towel rails rendering the towel rail inaccessible. A few interior decorating blunders. The bed, linen and towels were spotlessly clean and the air-con provided a lovely cool room. The information folder in the room had some useful information and led us to a restaurant where we had the best curry ever. The lodge website offered a complimentary breakfast that turned out to be not so, and after bringing that to their attention in an e-mail, that advertising was removed. All in all, we got what we paid for and nothing that I've mentioned would put us off staying there again.

Great easy check-in. Lovely room, comfy bed. Friendly staff. A microwave would have been nice to heat meal up, but didn't affect my lovely stay.

We booked a private room. Conveniently located close to town, air conditioned rooms with a small balcony and view of the mountain. Room was super clean and tidy and they are priced really reasonably! Car park availability a little tricky at times but we still really enjoyed our stay and have locked in the next one :)

The new air con in the room is great. The only negative is the guests smoking on their balcony's sticking the place out. Management need to enforce the no smoking rule. The noise by guests early hours Saturday morning is a problem. Hopefully it is a one off.

We have stayed in a few places the past week and I must say the Silver Fern lodge is definitely on top of my list. The cleanliness was perfect, The decor, the Parking, top grade 👌❤️

Quite good, but could have been a bit more careful with cleaning. Found an empty water drink bottle in bathroom and toothpast splatters on the wall.

The room was very good for the price. A lot more roomy than the last lodge I stayed at and I paid 30% more that time. Very clean, bathroom and main room was immaculate. smelt good and was warm. Tv was a bit on the small side but for the price was sufficient. Remote took a bit to get going, but came right and was good. Only down sides was the shower nearly flooded and had to clean out the shower sum my self of the Giant hair ball that was preventing the water flow. ( It was the size of a medium sized bush rat) didn't look too much different either. I'm not a Lipton tea drinker, a section of different brand's of tea would have been nice. Instant coffee was good packet creamer was even included, that was a treat, don't see that rarely. will most certainly be looking at coming back in two weeks and using the Silver Fern again, just hope the price is still as good. I used Travago to find this accommodations and I booked and paid through 'Travel Up'

Excellent Hotel and Staff with Beautiful Hotel View This hotel was just as its pictured. Clean, beautiful and intimate. I have toured every hotel off the beach, and I can’t find a better establishment than ‘Silver Fern Lodge’. Their staff is very professional and highly accommodating. The rooms and hotel are maintained very well. I slept like a baby. The staff was very nice as was the front desk. They helped me with my all bags. So glad we picked this hotel. We received wonderful service and everyone was welcoming and accommodating. They offered us free breakfast when our check in hotel. They were very understanding and tried to make us happy in any way they could. Great facilities, complimentary breakfast offered daily, nice room, great room service. We had a great time! Thank you to the whole staff! Especially to the manager, he is very understanding and helpful.

We enjoyed our stay here! The rooms are big and tidy. It is family friendly, the staff are super friendly! It is conveniently located near the town centre, too! Even though the breakfast was served late for us and some of their guests (maybe they were busy that day and miscalculated the amount of food to prepare), the food was delicious. Very good pricing for the two nights. Breakfast was very good with lots of options and great service from the cook, with a cheery “good morning, come in .“ and tips about what to see . Just be sure to take your own blankets as well as, it gets cold at night without the heater on and no electric blankets on bed. Would had been nice to have an oil heater that could tick over comfortably over night, after all, it is Taupo! The sheets didnt fit the bed, so, we had to remake it. Though, gotta say, best sleep ever, so very comfortable in all the beds we have slept in!

Really nice people, helpful and friendly. Rooms are average but still good quality with air conditioning. Free parking & simple complementary breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

We were there with our friends a few weeks back. We found the rooms very clean n tidy. The place is very well managed and maintained in an excellent condition. We found the customer service also was very good. The motel is close to the supermarkets and the shops and the lake, couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay on our holiday in Taupo. Would recommend Silver fern motel to anyone who is planning a stay in Taupo. Thanks guys!👍

Comfortable and clean. Disappointed that I was charged for 2 nights when I only stayed for 1. I was ill and decided to go home early then found out cancelling the last night cost. Would not give a credit either. I guess I should have stayed and passed my illness on to others. NOT.

The good: friendly staff. Parks. Central and close to the shopping. Handy breakfast although not very consistent. Fast 5 GB internet for each device per 24 hours. The less good: no lifts. Microwave in the main kitchen not in the rooms. Probably a bit overpriced.

Clean and quiet with pleasant service from the staff. The complimentary breakfast was great, with a range or hot foods, and also options for a continental breakfast. The location to town is brilliant as you can be at a restaurant within a 3 minute walk. The lake front is also only 2-3 minutes walk. No issues with parking, and the area appeared to be safe.

Despite the very early arrival, we were given the opportunity to dry our wet hair from a rain shower in the already cleaned room and to put our suitcases down. Breakfast was nice. (Original) Gute Lage in Taupo. Unser Zimmer war geräumig und gut eingerichtet. Trotz sehr früher Anreise gab man uns die Gelegenheit, im bereits geputzten Zimmer unsere durch einen Regenschauer nassen Haare zu trocknen und die Koffer abzustellen. Das Frühstück war gut.
