Gentleman at reception was friendly and chatty. The interior of the building could do with some TLC - carpet torn on one of the stairs we had to use, the tap at the sink worked well but was completely loose and could be lifted right up to expose the pipes, the bathroom has a mobile wooden shelf right beneath the towel rails rendering the towel rail inaccessible. A few interior decorating blunders. The bed, linen and towels were spotlessly clean and the air-con provided a lovely cool room. The information folder in the room had some useful information and led us to a restaurant where we had the best curry ever. The lodge website offered a complimentary breakfast that turned out to be not so, and after bringing that to their attention in an e-mail, that advertising was removed. All in all, we got what we paid for and nothing that I've mentioned would put us off staying there again.

Great easy check-in. Lovely room, comfy bed. Friendly staff. A microwave would have been nice to heat meal up, but didn't affect my lovely stay.

We booked a private room. Conveniently located close to town, air conditioned rooms with a small balcony and view of the mountain. Room was super clean and tidy and they are priced really reasonably! Car park availability a little tricky at times but we still really enjoyed our stay and have locked in the next one :)

The new air con in the room is great. The only negative is the guests smoking on their balcony's sticking the place out. Management need to enforce the no smoking rule. The noise by guests early hours Saturday morning is a problem. Hopefully it is a one off.

We have stayed in a few places the past week and I must say the Silver Fern lodge is definitely on top of my list. The cleanliness was perfect, The decor, the Parking, top grade 👌❤️

Quite good, but could have been a bit more careful with cleaning. Found an empty water drink bottle in bathroom and toothpast splatters on the wall.

The room was very good for the price. A lot more roomy than the last lodge I stayed at and I paid 30% more that time. Very clean, bathroom and main room was immaculate. smelt good and was warm. Tv was a bit on the small side but for the price was sufficient. Remote took a bit to get going, but came right and was good. Only down sides was the shower nearly flooded and had to clean out the shower sum my self of the Giant hair ball that was preventing the water flow. ( It was the size of a medium sized bush rat) didn't look too much different either. I'm not a Lipton tea drinker, a section of different brand's of tea would have been nice. Instant coffee was good packet creamer was even included, that was a treat, don't see that rarely. will most certainly be looking at coming back in two weeks and using the Silver Fern again, just hope the price is still as good. I used Travago to find this accommodations and I booked and paid through 'Travel Up'

+ Close to the CBD + Breakfast is delivered to the room, and can be delivered the evening before for early risers + Breakfast was pretty standard but better then expected + Nice room - Not a great mattress - Cushions were thin and useless - Lobby was not that inviting, but the room was fine

Really great place to be the guy on the counter was extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was lovely with everything you wanted. We will happily stay again. Comfy bed, air con. Great price too. We'll be back.

Really great place to stay, rooms were spacious and tidy! Staff were great but took reminding a few times over 3 hours to deliver the baby cot we had booked. Overall really good accommodation and will stay here again

Not much of a selection of rooms at short notice. Kind enough to allow us close parking.

Excellent Hotel and Staff with Beautiful Hotel View This hotel was just as its pictured. Clean, beautiful and intimate. I have toured every hotel off the beach, and I can’t find a better establishment than ‘Silver Fern Lodge’. Their staff is very professional and highly accommodating. The rooms and hotel are maintained very well. I slept like a baby. The staff was very nice as was the front desk. They helped me with my all bags. So glad we picked this hotel. We received wonderful service and everyone was welcoming and accommodating. They offered us free breakfast when our check in hotel. They were very understanding and tried to make us happy in any way they could. Great facilities, complimentary breakfast offered daily, nice room, great room service. We had a great time! Thank you to the whole staff! Especially to the manager, he is very understanding and helpful.

Super excellent, you can't get better then this. Our room was vary nice and tidy upon arrival, spacious room as showed on booking site. Reception guy is polite and Keen to help. Awesome healthy breakfast 👌 for free with wide range of options...big feed. Good value for money 👌 plenty of car park and we'll secured.

We enjoyed our stay here! The rooms are big and tidy. It is family friendly, the staff are super friendly! It is conveniently located near the town centre, too! Even though the breakfast was served late for us and some of their guests (maybe they were busy that day and miscalculated the amount of food to prepare), the food was delicious. Very happy to have found Silver Fern Lodge. Very accomadating with late check in. Clear and precise instructions getting to our room. Room was a good size. Complimentary breakfast great start to the day. Will make this place a great stop off in the future. Many thanks to the owner and the staff that made this stay enjoyable.

Very good pricing for the two nights. Breakfast was very good with lots of options and great service from the cook, with a cheery “good morning, come in .“ and tips about what to see . Our room was very comfortable with all we needed and a balcony as well. Lots of good parking and in walking distance to everything as well. Great stay thank you

Just be sure to take your own blankets as well as, it gets cold at night without the heater on and no electric blankets on bed. Would had been nice to have an oil heater that could tick over comfortably over night, after all, it is Taupo! The sheets didnt fit the bed, so, we had to remake it. Though, gotta say, best sleep ever, so very comfortable in all the beds we have slept in!

Really nice people, helpful and friendly. Rooms are average but still good quality with air conditioning. Free parking & simple complementary breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

We were there with our friends a few weeks back. We found the rooms very clean n tidy. The place is very well managed and maintained in an excellent condition. We found the customer service also was very good. The motel is close to the supermarkets and the shops and the lake, couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay on our holiday in Taupo. Would recommend Silver fern motel to anyone who is planning a stay in Taupo. Thanks guys!👍

Comfortable and clean. Disappointed that I was charged for 2 nights when I only stayed for 1. I was ill and decided to go home early then found out cancelling the last night cost. Would not give a credit either. I guess I should have stayed and passed my illness on to others. NOT.

This place is fantastic value for money .. really cldn't fault it .. nice big bed .. room modern, quiet & clean .. easy walk to town.. & then they threw in free cooked breakfast as part of the deal ! Been around the world & stayed in places charging three times as much not nearly as good as this place ... Well done SFL team !!👍👍👍👍

Friendly helpful staff helped us out when the other motel we booked turned out to be a disaster. Room was clean and tidy. Good value for money.

Just a Wellingtonian passing by and stopping in for a nights rest. Not too bad. View of the lake is nice. Staff at reception was very welcoming.

Laundry not open at convenient hours for overnight guests. Only teaspoons in room, other cutlery would have been handy. Beds excellent though, staff friendly. Plenty of parking, decent location.

The mangament are so friendly and kind. Good security and rooms are private. Although hearing is sensitive its easy not to care.

You get good value for money. The breakfast is not diverse but you get the basics (the NZ typical) which is more than enough. The room was very big and it had many pluses

The good: friendly staff. Parks. Central and close to the shopping. Handy breakfast although not very consistent. Fast 5 GB internet for each device per 24 hours. The less good: no lifts. Microwave in the main kitchen not in the rooms. Probably a bit overpriced.

Nice clean motel. No frills . Can be noisy when full of residents. Breakfast option is good quality value for money. Close to town centre short walk to lake side

We loved our overnight stay, great value, very comfortable, staff were lovely, we arrived late and clear instructions were sent to us before arrival, lovely little balcony to soak up the sun - recommended as good value stay in Taupo, we will definitely be back 😊

Excellent stay here. Very warm and welcoming hosts. Breakfast was great. Room was clean and had everything we needed.

Good location, clean and tidy accommodation. Great value for money especially given the affordable price. I stayed with three of my children and included in the already affordable price was a buffet breakfast for us all. Definitely recommend for travel on a budget.

The breakfast fast was very good and beds were very comfortable. Staff were fairly friendly. But general maintains in the bathroom etc needs to improved in the guest rooms.

Clean and quiet with pleasant service from the staff. The complimentary breakfast was great, with a range or hot foods, and also options for a continental breakfast. The location to town is brilliant as you can be at a restaurant within a 3 minute walk. The lake front is also only 2-3 minutes walk. No issues with parking, and the area appeared to be safe.

Lodge was in good condition decor wise also very clean. Bed comfortable. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good, hot and cold food available. Recommended.

Mint as cosey lil rooms warm clean got a laundry mat where I can wash my feet 🤭 I mean my clothes 😅 mint kitchen where I can watch tv 😜 lol I mean cook a feed and is all clean as aswell, if you want to be the next silver fern star start off your athletic career by staying at a silver fern lodge 😁 makes sense to me

Bit dusty in our room caused our sons allergies to go off. But nice room very comfortable bed.

"Free WiFi" is limited. I am currently posting this review using my cellphone data because the internet needs to "cool down" for 2 hours before i can connect to wifi again. Apparently there is a limit or quota of 5GB per device, if I'm not mistaken.

Trotz sehr früher Anreise gab man uns die Gelegenheit, im bereits geputzten Zimmer unsere durch einen Regenschauer nassen Haare zu trocknen und die Koffer abzustellen. Das Frühstück war gut.
