Staff here are very good. Although extremely busy they were mindful of assisting everyone. There's plenty of information on things to do in the whole region & pamphlets were displayed in a well organised manner. Nice, welcoming & friendly.

Free information centre to ask and get to know best activities, places to visit and accommodation. They also give coupons of some places for discount. You can buy suvenior as well.

Very helpful Staff great

Stayed in Taupo for nearly a week while waiting for the crossing and ended up going in here nearly everyday when I wanted something to do. Everyone there was so helpful and kind, and were great to talk to and get opinions from when deciding what to do for the day. If you're stuck for something to do, give this place a visit (Also, there are no toilets in the building, but there are free ones about 100m up the road, away from the lake)

Having not booked anything when coming back from Whangarei we went to the Information Centre in Taupo on the off chance they knew if there was any available rooms ... Deb was so helpful and found us a room for the night ... she also put us on a call list for a 2nd night ... we had a lovely night and as it was a gamble we would find anything for the 2nd night we decided to head home to Wellington we got a call half way through the Desert Rd with an offer of a room which had just had a cancellation... none of this would have happened if Deb wasn’t so amazing at her job ... thank you

Caught a bus back to Palmy from here. Never done it before, same as all the tourists. No signage or markers for luggage/queuing made it unorganized. More so the bus network than an i-site problem, i-site itself is great.

Very helpful staffs. No washrooms in this information centre. However there is a Pay Per Use public washroom about 100 yards away. Be ready with NZ$0.50 or have a McCafe in McDonalds few streets away. Enjoy your stay.

Loads of information on what there is to do in the area and nationwide. You can purchase NZ souvenirs at an affordable price. Very friendly and helpful staff. The downside is that there are no toilets onsite. You had to go to the Superloo, which is approximately 50 metres away.

Very helpful staff and a great location makes this a nice place to learn about the local sights and tours as well as the time tables of buses out of town. Also you can purchase all those things tourists are wont to buy here.

Very helpful! I needed a ride to the airport outside of the usual routes and didnt want to pay for a taxi. Some outside the box thinking from the employees got me to where I needed to go for a fraction of the price!

Very efficient didn't have to wait long for service .It's on the very edge of taupo town . Close too all the facilities and has the facilities both for parking and easy access for wheelchair or those that are restricted some way physically.The lake , park in reach while waiting for their transport or just booking a fare for a bus trip.

Staffs are friendly and gave good suggestions. Definitely a place to go to if you're a traveller in New Zealand especially if you have no idea on the attractions and routes.

Good information point ! A lot of information, goodies, postal cards, etc, are available here. Nice, welcoming. I took my tongario shuttle pass in this I-Site and it was very fast and easy.

Good to be able to have a shower. $2.50 very reasonable.. 50cents for toilet is reasonable as they are so clean

Desperate for accommodation last Saturday the 10th I visited theTaupo i site seeking a motel unit. A Young English customer service girl was not to be put off but in the end had to admit defeat. She certainly pulled out all the stops. Nothing available. After leaving the office and walking back to my car I turned to see her waving to me. She said they had just received an email with one vacant unit did I want it? This was customer services with a first class effort. 10 out of 10

Thanks so much to Deni at the Taupo information centre for all of her assistance to us on 18th November. We had just driven for 8 hours and arrived in Taupo late on Saturday afternoon with no accommodation booked. We didn't realise that due to several events on for the weekend it would be so difficult to get accommodation. Deni went out of her way to find awesome accommodation right on the lake front for us. It couldn't have been more perfect as we are here from Australia celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Thanks so much Deni. You are a delight and you made our stay in Taupo even more special. One of the more helpful i-SITEs with info on mountain biking and hiking. Now if I could just understand the fast talking Kiwis!

The information close at 5pm, it is a bit earlier than in some other locations, so go there early. It is a well advised spot to plan your trip to Taupo and especially Tongariro National Park and look at the last weather updates on the Alpine Crossing.

The store had some cute gifts for reasonable prices. The man at the counter was very friendly and helpful. I received a free map of Taupo.

They were always friendly. Answered all our questions about the Tongariro crossing and we checked if the weather is good enough through calling them, no problem.

Nice i-SITE with helpful staff. Our attendant, Ronda, suffered from verbal diarrhoea but it was all very useful stuff

Friendly staff with an abundant amount of information about Taupo and the surrounding area. Well worth the stop if your not sure what to do or need some directions.

The right advance and the things you can buy there will blow your mind. They also have showers there for a small fee
