Nice place to visit for people who can appreciate art. It's like the whole town is a creative masterpiece.

One of the most adorable i-Site in NZ

Didn't really look around. Only used the public toilets. Lovely little town.

Good place for a rest stop on the way to Rotorua or Taupo. Beautiful small township.

The ladies at the iSite are super helpful. Bit disappointed when i found out that the iSite dont sell/a miniature resin copy of the cute sheep and dog tin-roof sculpture. 🙃

Tirau is a beautiful and friendly stop over. Very friendly and welcoming staff everywhere. We appreciate your welcoming signs everywhere.

Interesting place. The giant sheep and wolf (dog?) statue are definitely a must see and photo.

Went to the bendon shop with my Mum. Ate lunch which was delicious. Used the very clean public toilet.

What a great i-site with its unusual exterior, friendly staff love the cafe attached.

Found this little village on Atlas Obscura. There is a fairly large gift shop as well.

Great place to stop rest heaps 9f places around it that make this place a great place to stop.

You can go wrong with a corrugated dog and corrugated sheep. Loads of parking & very helpful staff.

Pretty good info centre not that I actually went there, I did go use the toilets there but the change table table was missing, who steals a change table? That's just not cricket, so changed my daughter in my car which wasn't too bad. She loved the big dog building, she's at the stage where she's learning to talk and loves dogs and makes woof noises, it's pretty cute Hope this helps

Tirau is a must stop and go for a walk. The city is famous for its corrugated metal art. The town has a overload of nice little shops.

Loved this i-site, great staff, the toilets were modern and clean. Worth the stop here in this little town coz the food was great, the shopping was great although not many of them. A recommended stop for sure!🤠👍🏼

Many years later, I will still tell people Tīrau has some interesting café and stores with remarkable decorations to make you feel the absolute need to stop for a while, smile and get relaxed. The awesome i-site and public toilets tell all urban managers that a small town also has a huge potential to be an iconic attraction.

Only went here for the toilets. 24 hour toilet accessed from between the 2 large buildings. Very clean and smelt nice.

Great staff but lacking in good tirau magnets.

We usually stopover here for a toilet break. There is also a nice souvenir shop & cafe at the back.

Had brunch at the little cafe out the back . Very good food and coffee. Biggest sausage rolls I have ever seen! Had to eat it with a knife and fork. Well done ladies. Will be back on my next fishing trip. 👍

Excellent info centre. Patient staff. Warm and friendly. Good stock. The yummy home made food in cafe attached made the experience worth stopping for. We will see you again next year on our way down to school camp.

Convenient facility with relevant information, area maps and gifts! Public toilets also situated next to the iSite.

Good to stop on way North, building in shape of a sheep made of corrugated Iron. Lots of specialty shops.good place to have a walk before continuing journey. Petrol stations on both sides of road and places to stay.

Toilet facilities were clean. Cafe sandwich cost me $7.00 and was uncut. Had raw onion in it, fortunately I like that but very cumbersome to eat and VERY expensive.

Eye-catching, Cute concept to use for information centre. Especially so after driving in the New Zealand country road for good one hour. Gave me a reason to stop by to see what it was, and have a little rest.

There is a lot of sights and activities to do in and around Tirau the crew at the i-Site center were very helpful informing us of the place we visited and as we travel with a dog they gave us all the information on where we could talk him.

Not much to see in this town but great experience with the people here. Check out the quirky metal art outlets.

Buildings are iconic sheep dog and sheep and a required photo stop. Plenty of parking and great toilets. Lots of pamphlets if you want ideas for what to do.

Loved walking around here. The hugy buildings which are also works of art were great. Lots of cafes and gift shops.

Iconic designed i-Site with the Big Sheep & Dog made from that favorite Kiwi building material corogated iron. Great cafè with excellent coffee, friendly staff and mouth watering custard squares.

Toilets clean. Not enough toilet paper. A great stop from a long drive.

Good parking if you pull in here and it's handy to public toilets, local shops etc. Good place to stop on the way through to break up the trip

Actually love this place, work of art with corrigated iro. Sbeets. And all if the animals are so friendly, the shops are very good and many choices of take out food.

I just took a photo with the dog. It's pretty iconic. Tirau is a cute little town and I always like to stop for breakfast or lunch on the was through

Visitors Centre was fine but toilets are gross - they used to be much better

If you are traveling towards Auckland from Taupo make sure you take a stop in this town and grab pictures of the public toilets in the form of a dog and a cow. The I-Site visitor information Centre is very conveniently located.

Loos locked so there was a queue for the 1 toilet available. At least it was clean and nice area for a lil pitstop

Good place to visit. Excellent public toilets. Passing thru so didn't check shops. In fact driving thru main street the village looked tired and sad. Needs tourists back that's for sure.
