We want to thank you for the wonderful time we had with you touring Auckland and environs. The 3 days were planned out wonderfully and you hit all of our expectations and requests.
The first day touring the city was very educational and we learned a lot about Auckland and New Zealand history. Your suggestion for dinner at “Soul” was excellent and researching the wine list for wines for us to try was over the top.
Day two was the best with your plan for Waiheke Island with visits to 3 vineyards for private tastings. You knew we wanted our tour to focus on wine tastings and you hit the mark with 3 great choices.
Day three was a nice mix of touring, wine tasting and a great lunch at the “Hunting Lodge” which we really enjoyed. The addition of the visit to your friends wine store was really fun; meeting them and purchasing a few bottles of wines to take home.
All in all we enjoyed our time with you and best of all by the end of the 3 days we felt more like we were being shown around by a friend not a paid tour guide. Couldn’t have been any better!
We will spread the word to any friends that plan to visit Auckland.

Fabulous Auckland experience! For our first time in Auckland we spent the day with the lovely and personable Bill Hird of SEEN Auckland. We run a food and wine touring business in the United States so we big believers that the best way to know a new city is through its food and wine scene. Bill put together an outstanding full day for us that included some driving through neighborhoods in Auckland and a great walking tour of restaurants on the Viaduct. We visited a total of five restaurants, sampling a variety of New Zealand foods and wines at each one. What made this tour so outstanding for us ( and we can be jaded as we do this for a living ) was Bills vast knowledge. As a fifth generation Kiwi he certainly made Auckland and New Zealand history come alive for us but in addition he is a noted expert on, and a judge of, New Zealand wines so each dish we tied was beautifully paired with a compatible wine. His choice of restaurants was so good that we brought a group of friends back to a couple of them again the next day. Finally, Bill is fun, engaging, personable and he felt like a friend we have known for years. Do yourself a favor and book a tour with Bill Hird of SEEN for a very unique and memorable experience.

We had a delightful half day tour to the Arataki center and Pihia beach with Bill in his clean and comfy SUV when we found ourselves with a large block of time between checkout at our Airbnb and check in for our flight. His love of the history of New Zealand and the Maori culture really shines.
He is truly a helpful and pleasant person. If we had had another day we would have gladly toured with him again. Thank you so much, Bill!

I think I can safely say that our tour of Auckland with Bill, was like meeting up with an old friend we hadn't seen for a while. Excellent way to get a good feel for Auckland, when you have limited time.
