A great asset for New Zealand. Looks like it can be expanded a lot more. Nice to see such clean and clear water in a harbour. Beautiful views.

Calm beach near the port. Short walk to the beach. Some people go there to fish.

Beautiful location and some good fishing spots. Well worth the look.

Marsden Point lies 30 kilometres southeast of Whangarei and around 140 kilometres from Auckland's CBD. It forms the south-eastern tip of the entrance to the Whangarei Harbour on the east coast of Northland, New Zealand

This review is only about the leisure activities available for seamen, and not about the port. The port is located far from any city. Only interesting place is a small sea men's community centre nearby, whose bus pick you up and drop you back at the gangway free of cost. They have some games, soveniers, t shirts, chocolates etc. A decent spot to spend an hour or two.

It is great just to get a way for lunch

It is normally a blessing to check out the scenery from the Port, on a nice day 😊 But yesterday we decided to check out how windy it was on the pontoon & almost got blown away, even the sign flew off, it was definitely a sub tropical day 🌬🌪

Interesting large industrial site. Not much to be seen due to security, but together with the Marsden Point refinery, they are situated in one of the most beautiful beach/harbor areas in NZ. There are beach fishing opportunities between the two sites

Beautiful spot for sailing. Hills on a side and the port on the other

Very quiet beach near the port. Clear quiet water. The toilets are very clean. Even if it is very close to the port, it is a little peace of heaven.

I am a truck driver and I travel to here from Auckland and cart product off the wharf.. there's a great cafe next to the information centre which houses a really awesome scale model of Marsden point refinery..

Water was nice and refreshing, great sppt for a summer swim. Sadly we didnt get any fish to bite, but was still very nice

I don't really want to let the secret out. But it's a good stretch of beach to walk the dog. I've even gone for a wee paddle myself. Lovely view over to Taurikua and Mt Manaia. Just have to pretend you can't see Marsden Point refinery at the each end of the beach.
