S.Good place to stop in on way through. Nice amenities and you could grab food or coffee at the Cafe. Very hard to get out of as roads pretty busy and if going north visibility can be tricky.
C.Hubby used Toilets. Then we had an amazing Picnic ! Food from Braai hut. Clean park. Shady spot. Just the Council need to clean the Tables. Pity about the Vandalism! Destroyed the beautiful Art work! Rainbow 🌈. They need to install Cameras!
I.Very informative lady, plenty of parking. Heaps of souvenirs for anything you may need. Talked to Saehee about all our needs and she drew up a full itinerary for us. Highly appreciated! Heaps of maps, brochures and just everything. Joint to a cafe as well so you can flick through all the maps you just got. Would recommend if coming through Whangarei
N.You really enjoy coming to places like this the security guard was so polite and helpful plenty of information inside lovely cafe and the rest rooms are immaculate

S.The staff was very helpful welcoming and friendly nd they guided us which places v can visit on d way back home. Moreover the art gallery showcasing different photographs nd creative art painted on d walls is a must watch for the art lovers nd its free. They do have plenty of car park facilities, rest room n free wifi. There's a cafe nxt to it so best place to have a stop on d way.

I.great place for a pit stop. Good sized park grounds to enjoy a stretch, walk the pooch or pop into the info centre cafe and refuel. Public toilets have always been very clean, I've been travelling through Whangarei for 40 years heading up to the Bay of Islands.
D.Can't get enough of getting out of Auckland....and Whangarei has a lot to offer if I were to choose another place to live💖😎it'll be here....more photos next time

s.Great facility, can park up overnight and a hot shower for $2 in opening hours. Why can't other district councils be as helpful instead of treating travellers as pariahs and persecuting them!
S.The center closes at 4pm during Saturdays. We stayed at the cafe for a quick tea and this view is just behind it.

R.A well appointed tourist centre with clean amenities, cafe and information/retail shop. Access is easier traveling north as when approaching when traveling south. There is a median barrier that prevents a direct turn into the carpark. Proceeding a short distance further allows a right turn to the opposite side then access to the carpark. As of January 2021 roadwork could affect ease of access

L.UPDATE to my original post below, Covud signs are up and dismayed clearly now.
Stopped to use the public toilet which are usually very well maintained and it was on this occasion but we stop for breaks here regularly on trips to Auckland and still no QR code in the ladies toilet area. Perhaps the isite centre is not at fault here but it was the name that came up on Google for the entire building. Carpark is usually busy so patience required at times. Has a park beside it for stretching the legs or walking the dog for a break.
D.A great place to take a break before heading further North or getting information about what to visit while in Whangarei from their very friendly staff. Go for a nice walk in the nearby park with a kids play ground or enjoy the lovely food in the cafe plus take in the wonderful artworks. The restrooms are nice and clean but hope that there will be money spent on them in the future because they are becoming a little dated, still a place well worth the stop.

P.Convenient rest stop while traveling North with 24h toilets. Turning right from the carpark to go South can be a bit of a mission.
R.Eventually got great advice, however when I asked where I could find and/or watch Maori carving in Whangarei at first the question stumped both the staff on the counter. Otherwise very good.
P.The staff here are very helpful. They provided me with good information and made a nice itinerary for me in the limited time that I had.

J.Always a go-to place to stop off for a quick leak when on a road trip, bathrooms are always well maintained. And if you're feeling fancy, you can go for a tinkle then treat yourself to some food at the cafe or catch up on some local information
F.Holy moly you can even stay overnight in the parking lot, accessibility to showers and loo😍 so if your tired this would be an awesome place to rest them eyes. I didn't try it as I was visiting a bro. On a road trip I would stop there lol 😊

A.This place is a great place to park and relax, the information centre seems really nice and there was plenty of toilets. I noticed also that self contained cars/vans etc can stay over night.
J.Nice clean toilets. 5 minuets shower for $2 and water pressure is good. They have toilet facility open 24/7 and rubbish bins.

The only thing bad about this place is google facilitates people to say stupid things anonymously with reviews and fake names ranting it's not like this is a service it's a luxury while on the road North or South. It's an info center with a few other things, get over it, go to the toilet, and hit the road again. Holy heck.

Always a helpful crew on hand with the accent on personal service & astounding food - ive been coming here for 1hr daily for 25yrs + can't really stop - What does that tell you?. A Change of ownership Dec 2017 New year greetings to the new + fond farewell to the old.

V.Whangarei Visitor Info Center is always a great way to look around for activitie's to do or sites to see and enjoy.They have a thorough collection of information to appeal to almost everybody I'm sure.Most of it is easy to find in the displays but the staff are keen and knowledgeable on most of the places and activities. All Credit to Them.

G.My tour group and I stopped for coffee & snack at the Press Cafe at the Whangarei i Site this morning. Was fabulous, quick and staff polite.
