A place run by very lovely family. We've got one bedroom unit and it was very tidy, clean and looks new too. Kitchenette completes with all we needed for a good breakfast. Closest beach is Buffalo beach by car which was amazing. Very happy with our stay here.

Beautiful lodge close to town. The hosts are fantastic and very friendly. The rooms are clean, and it has everything we needed it, from towels to comfortable pillows and blanket. Green everywhere, the great location make you feel connected to nature. Just loved it.

Exceptionally tidy and clean place that is well looked after by a friendly host.

We stayed recently in a twin share room for two nights. The location was semi-rural and restful. The room was spotlessly clean and it was pet friendly so I was able to take my dog. Choi was a great host and was on hand for anything we needed. Very adequate all round and very good value for money.

Stayed 2 nights amongst farmland at Aotearoa Lodge. Plenty of parking and large area for dog friendly play and exercise. Plenty enough room for two in our room and bathroom with a good working kitchen next door. 700 meters to Buffalo Beach. Free WF. Good hospitality.

They were very accommodating as we showed up with an extra person and they made it work. We went to hot water beach and they provided a free shovel. Laundry facilities were good. Very clean and quiet surroundings.

Ample parking, peaceful area (but only as quiet as the other guests- can hear full conversation from room next door at midnight, beware being located too close to the guest lounge - clattering of dishes, tv sounds, children running around and screaming at 10pm). Clean and warm, but funny smell in room (maybe stuffy+cleaning products? Or perhaps a former occupant smoked within), polite staff. If you don't mind being a bit further in from the beach, its fine. Also, phone reception for data not the best, and only 1gb of free internet by coupon per room - if you are prepared for these things then its fine.

Location of the lodge is great. 3 min drive and you r amdist Downtown Whitianga. Ample parking space.Their Service is marvellous. I am on a 15 day tour to NZ. I got late in reaching the hotel...almost 12am instead of 12 pm...due to Traffic congestion, Road repair near Auckland,etc. But still the receptionist was too good. He made arrangements so we don't sleep hungry. Throughout our stay he was very entertaining and made us feel comfortable. Hope them to improve on the limited breakfast option.

Such a nice tidy place to stay! Me and my partner stayed here for one night and it is above our expectation! Really nice staff as well. :)

Nice budget Lodge with decent clean rooms. Well equipped kitchen with fridge, ovan, gas stove etc. Beautiful nature around. But no restaurant service and one need to carry his own stuff.

Nice peaceful location. Good sized clean room with a king bed. Breakfast included with tasty strong coffee. Very kind and helpful manager. Nothing to complain about.

Clean bedroom and bathroom with plenty of parking. However facilities are dated. Balcony and BBQ avaliable to use. Communal lounge also available. No aircon in the rooms so very warm in summer. Nothing around within a walkable distance.

The room is nice, clean, looks new. Close to the beach, close to the city. Breakfast is a joke. Toast with jam or oatmeal with milk. No choice, I came back hungry.

Simple, clean, quietish. Shower water pressure low. Walls are thin. Reasonable rates. Can't complain. Pleasant hosts.

Friendly family run business. Average rooms. A little dated perhaps. Wifi signal weak and hard to get online. Ok for a night or two.

Okay okay stay..peaceful location outside the hustle and bustle of a big city..mediocre type room with no aircon.. bed mattresses was bit soft..owner was very friendly though..but overall not so comfortable stay.

Fantastic place. Tucked away from the crowd and planty space, best staff looked after our stay. You will never disappoint with this place.

(Translated) The rooms were good, clean and spacious you had room, on the terrace still needs to be done, apart from were cobwebs on the patio door and the window. And the furniture outside should also be cleaned before the arrival of new guests. At breakfast please at least not hard-boiled eggs or so, I could only eat toast with butter. Beach and city are still about a 20 minutes walk away. The welcome is very warm and friendly (Original) Die Zimmer waren gut, sauber und geräumig man hatte Platz, auf der Terrasse muss noch was gemacht werden, von ausser waren Spinnenweben an der terrasentür und dem Fenster. Und die Möbel außen sollten auch vor der Ankunft neuer Gäste gereinigt werde. Beim Frühstück bitte wenigstens nich hartgekochte Eier oder so hinstellen, ich konnte von den was drauf war nur Toast mit Butter essen. Strand und Stadt sind noch einem ca 20 minuten Fußmarsch erreichbar. Der Empfang ist sehr herzlich und freundlich
