We had a fantastic afternoon sail with Mat and Sam. We loved the “choose your own adventure” style of allowing you to relax throughout the entire ride or participate in the sailing if you would like to. Mat and Sam were kind hosts and provided fruit, beer and wine throughout the trip. The cat was safe, clean, and comfortable. We cannot recommend Boom Sailing highly enough!

There probably isn't a more relaxing way to see Cathedral Cove and the coastline out from Whitianga. Mat and his crew are great fun and the trip was really enjoyable. From booking, to getting us on and off the boat, to chatting about the local area, everything was super easy. The fruit platters were delicious and the locally brewed beer was very easy drinking. We swam with fish in the marine reserve and could not have felt more relaxed at the end of the day. Highly recommend these guys.

This was the most relaxing and peaceful way to spend an afternoon I could imagine. We could choose to help sail or just relax and enjoy the feel and smell of the ocean and the gorgeous Coromandel coastline. Matt and Sam were amazing. Highly recommend this for anyone, especially those who could do with taking a deep breath and getting away from it all for a while!

This was a awesome experience. It was relaxing . We were on our honeymoon and we both fully enjoyed sailing on the catamaran. It was well priced at 110 pp and was 3 hours . We were taken around from whitianga to cathedral cove. We got to swim with snapper 2x drinks and a snack included on the way home. It felt safe and was a experience I will never forget. One lady on board was going for her 15th time.

Mat and Sam took us for a lovely afternoon sailing. The hospitality was friendly and relaxed, the beer was cold, and the sailing smooth with the wide, flat area on the catamaran (including bean bags!)

This is a must-do activity when you're in Coromandel. We had a half-day excursion on Fully Charged - Mat's big yellow catamaran. An awesome time exploring, snorkelling and enjoying some freshly caught sashimi'ed Snapper and a few beers. And what a great way to see Cathedral Cove, the hoards ashore looked quite jealous when we pulled up for some snorkelling.
And all of this for a very reasonable price. Mat and his crew Sam love what they do, and this makes them the perfect hosts. I cannot recommend this highly enough.

An absolutely amazing experience with Boom Sailing. Our captain and host Mat was super knowledgeable and hospitable. He promised us dolphins and sunshine at 4pm and delivered on both at 4.15pm! Moments I will never forget. The catamaran means sailing is so smooth (so no sea sickness - YAY) and there is no better coastline than the Coromandel to cruise along. I would do this every day if I could.

Relaxed, friendly and exceptional sailing trip in the Coromandel around the bays to Cathedral Cove and then Gemstone Bay to snorkel. Jordie, Sam and Florian made us feel very welcome and got our boys involved in steering and help hoist the main sail and jib. We were exceptionally fortunate that there was just us four so it was like our own private charter. This has been the highlight of our trip to the Coromandel and we will be back for sure! Thanks!

One of the best things you could do in Coromandel. Mat and the crew provided an awesome experience and made this day unforgettable. We enjoyed sailing on this catamaran and 100% recommend this to anyone who wants to do a sailing adventure in Mercury Bay.

A leisurely sail as advertised. The owner meet us on the beach where the 12 of us went by dinghy in two shifts to the (former racing) catamaran. We sailed to Cathedral Cove, slowing as we got there to view the activity there, and we anchored in a nearby bay for about 15 minutes to swim/snorkel in the "refreshing" waters. In general we were comfortable on the boat on bean bags / sitting on the hull, were offered beverages & a few snacks, and were assured there was a marine toilet on board although we didn't try it. The sail took over three hours on a lovely summer's day. The owner Matt assured me he preferred to be called Steve.

I've went with Boom 2 years in a row now, first with my daughter and this year with my wife.
A smooth running operation taking you out to see Whitianga, Cook's Beach, and Cathedral Cove from the other side.
Along the way Mat's crew Conner and Joey pop out refreshing bevs and hors d 'oeuvrez, :-)
I'll be back next year with more guests.

What a pleasure to sail with Matt and Joe. Their capability and friendlness was 2nd to none. My wife and I had our 8 year old son with us and both Matt and Joe shared their knowledge with him, allowing him to take the rudder and prepare the anchor etc.
I would higly recommend this trip for a lovely afternoon exploring the beautiful coastline.
