One of the most iconic university in South Island cherry blossom trees takes your breath away

Best place to study. Great atmosphere, well equipped laboratories and people are very welcoming, helping and Friendly.Students will find everything they need on campus, including four different libraries, a state-of-the-art fitness facility called the RecCentre, art galleries and a number of different bars and restaurants. The institution has been awarded with a 5-star ranking for research and teaching by the QS World University Ranking... indeed.!!! . It is based on New Zealand’s beautiful South Island, there is lots for students to do outside of lectures. From surfing to skiing, the diverse landscape that surrounds the city of Christchurch provides unique sporting and cultural opportunities for international students. Also I am adding some of the pictures of old campus which is based in city centre of Christchurch. It was affected so much due to earthquake but now they are reconstructing it.

Ok, time to put my Ph.D in Maths to work (I don't actually have a Ph.D in maths)

I believe that everywhere in the world you will find the good side and bad side of every university. there is no perfect one and since its also service based; the feeling it gives 1 person might be different to another. i am going go hopefully attend this uni and i just cant wait. from all i have read and the videos i have seen its awesome. sidenote: reduce the campus rent fee

I graduated from the University of Canterbury and without hesitation I can say I had a great time socially and academically. There are some superb lecturers there with high quality teaching and learning resources. The recent upgrades with the new buildings being built mean if you consider going here you won't be disappointed with the environment or the staff. Choose Canterbury as your first choice and enrol now.

Great university! Have really enjoyed studying here even in the aftermath of the earthquakes. Its great to see the rebuild here well underway. The grounds are very beautiful, especially during the spring and summer when the are flowers blooming.

They will teach you invaluable skills but you will be swallowed in the crowd. Not listened to at times and it's a huge struggle to get one on one time with the lecturers. Had a blast in the clubs and made great friends here. Pity some of the engineering lecturers struggled with English. This was years ago now so I am sure it's better now.

Canterbury is a beautiful university but just like outward appearances its whats inside that matters. Your experience depends on the course you pick. After completing my degree I can say only 20% of the lectures/courses actually provided me the proper understanding of the materials. The rest were miss-leading and sometimes a waste of time.

I look back fondly on my time at Uni, great campus with vibrant surrounds and green space. Plenty on offer to give you the grounding in your chosen field and set your future on course.

University of Canterbury is a great place to study with lots of course options and fantastic staff. However; as always experiences depend on your subject(s) of choice and how hard you try. If you don't put in the effort you won't make it. Some courses certainly don't warrant a entire course simply because they lack content and don't teach you much past getting you points for a degree - so as always make sure you pick carefully and balance your workloads (be sure to talk to your departments course advice - as they really are awesome!)

This is a great university. I have attended at Dunedin as well but Canterbury is soooo much better. The grounds are brilliant with the Avon River and Okeover steam flowing down either side of the grounds, which are covered in mature trees and plantings. The facilities have and are being updated after the quakes (which were nearly 4 years ago now) so there are new science labs with every type of technology you could want and more new buildings under construction. The courses are well structured and the teaching staff are excellent, they have students best interests at heart and come from myriad countries. You can not make up a degree in New Zealand by just picking random stuff that sounds cool instead you get many choices but they must lead to a degree that is useful to employers and stands you in good stead for future postgrad study. UC biological science school is the best in the country (this is not only my view a recent review by government indicates it is the best). Take the challenge ... do more.....see more.... and later on you can earn more and do useful stuff for society. Oh and only the best students get scholarships, they are highly sort after so don't expect to get one unless you work hard and achieve at a high level.

Centralised around Ilam makes it easy to travel between buildings. Lovely scenery makes the early morning walks delightful.

University is specially renowned for its civil and structural engineering departments. A beautiful Campus with very specialized trainers or faculties.Definitely a best place to study

Nice grounds, good range of courses, but compared with other uni's management was reluctant to be flexible to meet student needs in combining these courses to a degree. regulations need to move with the times.

Hoping so much I can study also in this school. It's my greatest dream to work in New Zealand. Hoping God will bless me to reach my dream come true.

The campus is very calm on a summer day. It also becomes quite lively when students return for the academic year.

I'm a student at the University of Canterbury and I can say that it's a great place. Amazing and friendly staff everywhere, offers many opportunities and offers a lot of support for students.
