I am an alumni, so maybe my opinion would be biased. But great university. Wonderful faculties. My two years in the university were a great experience. Also, located literally at the heart of the city.
K.
We really love the event. This is our first time to visit the Night glow, the rides, food and the fire work was amazing.
A.
Terribly confusing for a first time visitor, lots of construction going on, pretty poor parking availability and if you did find a park it is not crystal clear if you need to book a visitor park in advance or you can just park, and with a potential cost of $350.00 (anecdotal) to release your car there needs to be much more clarity. However, that said when we did get to where we needed, staff were extremely helpful and polite.

The university of Waikato is located on a beautiful campus with garden areas ponds sports grounds and nice walking parks. As an ex-student it is great to go back and enjoy the atmosphere again and it is exciting to see the new facilities being developed but I am concern about the staffing issues and public relation issues that have been in the media. Facilities are important but the reputation of a learning institute is only as good as the teaching staff and the learning experience they provide to their students.
M.
Super awesome place to be. I love the stories and culture around individual gardens. I would recommend for anyone visiting Hamilton
J.
Beautiful campus. Wish there will be more retailers on site in future

The University of Waikato is one the most incredible and supportive universities that I have ever known. It is truly exemplary, in terms of the cooperation and assistance that it puts up on offer to everybody who touch base with them. I would not be making a mistake by terming the kind of student support they cater as "commendable". To me, to achieve the flawlessness with which they function is totally inscrutable.
C.
If you are visiting with kids, google up the "maths eyes" walk you can do around university.
Also visit the Eco Emporium for all things relating to sustainability on campus! And they have a wellbeing hub to make sure people are supported.
There are often great public events happening on campus.
D.
Wonderful campus to study at. Caring & helpful staff make a real difference. Lots of international students too who seem to enrich the learning environment and social experience.

My son and I like to walk around the lake at the Uni. People hide painted rocks around the walkway they are called Tron Rocks. If you ever find any please be sure to 're hide them around the lake again, or if you have brought some to hide there feel free to take the ones you found post pictures on the Tron Rocks Facebook page and then hide elsewhere. The Tron Rocks community really love to see that their rocks have been found and rehiden

The University of Waikato began in 1956 after Hamilton locals launched a petition for a university to serve the needs of the South Auckland region. The group was led by Douglas Seymour, a barrister, and subsequently Anthony "Rufus" Rogers, a Hamilton GP and brother to long-time Mayor of Hamilton, Denis Rogers.Their campaign coincided with a shortage of teachers in the 1950s that prompted the New Zealand government to consider plans for a teachers’ college in the region. In 1960, the newly established Hamilton Teachers’ College opened its doors, and combined with the fledgling university (then a branch of Auckland University), began a joint campus on farmland at Hillcrest, on the city's outskirts.

This is the University of Waikato, which meets the world's population
in the stream of the river that flows across the land,
under the shadow of the mountains of refuge by which they are bound.
Welcome, come, come.
