I couldn't be happier with our Vet, describing the effort and care they have provided to my beloved tripawd Indiana as amazing is quite literally a gross understatement. From the moment we walked into the clinic all those months ago facing a horrendous decision, the vets and staff have been nothing but helpful and supportive. You have helped my pooch fight the toughest of battles and you have been by her side through all of it. You have given her months of life she wouldn't have had and some dignity right to the end, whenever that comes. A special shout out to Jess our Onc Vet, the care and professionalism you have displayed with my Indy is a testemanent to you and the clinic. Every dog I own will be brought to Takanini (if you'll have us 😁) because I know you will give them the same level of care youve given indy. She may not show it, but she behaves better with you than any Vet she has ever seen before. Thank you for all the research, advice and help, we gave it our absolute best shot, and a special thanks for taking my word for how gentle she is and not muzzling her during the treatments.

My usual vet was closed over the Christmas/New Year period for the four stat days, which of course is when my cat got sick. A friend recommended Veterinary Associates Takanini and they were amazing. The receptionist was very helpful and slotted us in for a check up. The vet Jess was very lovely, compassionate and handled the cat with ease. The cat had subcutaneous fluids and B12 but didn't improve so I phoned in the afternoon and the vet was very helpful and suggested returning the next day if there was no improvement. Unfortunately, the cat was listless the next day so we went back. The clinic reception was able to book us in to see the same vet who was again helpful and recommended IV fluids and x-rays. Unfortunately, things weren't good on the x-ray and after an exploratory surgery the cat had to be put down. She had cancer throughout her intestines and her liver. However, I can't say enough about the kindness of the staff, their efficiency and the help that they gave. Nothing they could have done would have changed things but at least I know she was in good hands for her final moments. The prices were also very reasonable considering it was a public holiday.

Always happy with the service when we come here. They recently fit me in for a last minute checkup before our cat had to go in a cattery for a week on short notice. They’re always kind and answer any question I can throw at them. Also lots of helpful advice around diet and care etc. Good price for the service they provide. Have been coming here for years and will continue to do so, recommend to other as well.

Took beautiful care of our GSD in her final months. I appreciate the love, care and genuine concern. Thank you for letting us be with her as she passed even if COVID rules had to be worked around. At times there are long wait times, but this is a reflection of how popular they are. Well priced, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Cats and foster kittens have done well through here too. 100% trust in the team.

Second time I've had to get my beloved pet put to sleep. Sunday morning they opened earlier than they were supposed to as my son couldn't hold on for his booked time and we needed to have him put to sleep earlier due to his deterioration rapidly that morning. They had the upmost Caring team well informative, very patient as our family grieved for our loved boy of 12year Rolly . Was the most hardest thing we've had to endure as a family was having to let our son rest in peace after his battle . Knowing it was our last moment with him 😭💔 they explained everything down to the T, so we wouldn't be shocked at what we were about to experience 🙌😊💓 they made his passing as quick and painless and fearless as possible and im so grateful for the job they do and how they do it. Just beautiful souls 💞🙏 very very much respect the job they have to do on a daily basis , so please treat them with respect dignity and love too. Thank you's so much for everything. I will never be going anywhere else for pets care from now on . Thank you to the team 😊😊 My boy is now running free!! no more pain and suffering 🙏🙏💞💞💞🐾🐾🐾

Been coming here with my multitude of furr babies since i moved out South about 4 yrs ago - every single vet and vet nurse i have met has been absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable and compassionate in their care. My only wish would be for the clinic to expand to a larger site with better carparking and more staff - only because they are SO good that everyone wants to get in! Love your work VAT!

Nice vet for those who don't mind paying $65 just for a consultation. In my opinion it was a waste of my money and didn't really get any answers I was looking for in regards to my little pet 🙃 I honestly wouldn't go there again, this was literally my last option as other vets were fully booked. Note to self, book ahead of time.

The team at Vet Associates Takanini are amazing. This is our regular vet and when our cat was attacked and needed an emergency operation they didn't make us feel silly, spoke to us in real facts and didn't sugar coat anything. The follow up calls and appointments we fantastic and everyone we dealt with truly cares for all animals. From what I've seen when it comes to pets needing to be put to sleep, the team are very discreet and professional. There is a side door they allow you to use for privacy during a difficult time. Really can't find fault here

This is the best vet clinic in Auckland. I am forever grateful to the wonderful Dr Eckhard Stalmann for giving me & my beloved cat Daniel the gift of 55 days together after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. My request for palliative treatment was dismissed by ANOTHER vet clinic, but when we went to the Veterinary Associates Takanini, Dr Stalmann immediately stepped in and helped extend Danny's life. He also gave him the most compassionate and peaceful end! Heartfelt thanks, Dr Eckhard! Really lovely staff, and there's always a friendly atmosphere. It can be a bit pricey if you're doing more than a check-up, but I've found that it's well worth it. The vets here are more thorough than any others I've seen, and always do everything that they can to make sure that your pet is healthy and safe. There can be a wait during peak times, but on the whole they're good at keeping to appointment times. Definitely recommend.

A huge shout out to Veterinarian James and the team at Takanini for the wonderful care of our late beloved family pet Riko who was sent on his final journey last week. They showed true compassion for Riko in his final days when despite the medical interventions, it was soon clear that no more could be done for him. James was professional, patient and empathetic at a time of great sadness for us. Nothing was too much trouble and he gave us the time we needed with Riko to allow us to say our final goodbyes to our our dearly loved pet. Thank you James and the Takanini team. Really positive experience. We had been going to a well known place in Papatoetoe which was cheap but always had a long wait, and I got the feeling we got some incorrect advice at times. Went for our first visit today and seems that the vet really listened and cared about my dog. This is my vet now!

I found the vet I had wasn't onto it. I had been in a few weeks before with my dog limping on rear leg. Previous vet said he had a knee strain. I went in for a general check up and immunizations. He was weighed at reception. Vet rubbed his hands over his body and did the immunization and that seems to be a check up. I asked him to check his ears (is that not in a general check up?) I then had to ask him to check his leg(do they not read notes before seeing clients?)I used to get Andrew and another vet who were really efficient but the last two times I've found them average. No follow up call after telling me my dog might have to have a knee operation if he continued to limp. Seems strange as usually would get a follow up call to see how he was luckily with some resting and care I managed to get him right.

TVA have always taken good care of my dogs (and te odd birdie, cat, hedgehog, tortises!), extremely knowledgeable, always professional, friendly, compassionate and sympathic. Veterinarians that u can trust with yr pets. Parking can be a bit 'tight' sometimes when they are busy therefore yr wait time can be extended. Always seen straight away in case of an emergency. My cat recently had a lump removed from his back, and it has healed beautifully, he doesn't even have a scar! Was stitched up really well, had been cleaned perfectly and I had 1 very happy kitty afterwards.

I recommended Vets Associates Takanini to my daughter whose rescue dogs were in need of care. Mia had to be spayed and despite being in heat and feeding her young pup Andrew reassured me they could perform the procedure. We were so impressed with the teams friendly and professional treatment of us and our pets. My daughter was taken by the family atmosphere of the vet centre stating so many people were coming and going from all walks of life bringing their pets into the centre very confident and reassured by the vets and team. As soon as I arrived they put me straight into a consulting room so I wasn't a blubbery mess in front of the public in the waiting room which meant such a lot to me. The vets here have looked after our dog so well, they are lovely, helpful and are happy to discuss our dog's health at length and answer any questions we have. They are also very reasonably priced compared to other vets we have used in the past or quotes we have gotten. The vets are also very experienced, our dog required surgery which was only available at 2 surgeries in Auckland, Vet Associates being one of them. They did an amazing job of it. I would highly recommend Veterinary Associates to anyone.

Their costs appear to be competitive and unlike a lot of places they are willing to make arrangements for Customers to pay off large balances. Let's face it Veterinarys aren't cheap.The equipment is mostly modern an up to date.

Over the years the team have treated our dog family with great care and attention and I would highly recommend them. They have always been very compassionate when we have had to make the sad decision to say goodbye to one of our furry family, and we really appreciate that.

We got x2 11 week old kittens speyed, vaccined and dewormed. The staff were thorough and patience with us with our questions in the exam room. They were there for half a day. EAR INFECTION CORRECTIVE SURGERY REVIEW. I took my standard poodle to Vet Associates after doing a google search to have a Zepps procedure done on his ears. He has had two years of constant ear infections that never cleared and our local vets kept saying it was due to allergies. I had spent thousands of dollars on medications and hair plucking under sedation over the two years and i got desparate to do something for him after the last hair plucking gave him relief for only one month. Wow am I glad i had the Zepps done. Dr Eckhard Stalmann at Vet Associates did the procedure, he is a fantastic surgeon, he looks so young, like he could still be in high school but don’t be fooled he is one clever guy, we couldnt have wished for better. He assured me he had done this surgery many times and it was obvious by how well he did it. He said at the time that if the ear drums were ruptured that he would need to do the more difficult and more invasive TECA surgery of removing the whole inner ear which would leave our dog deaf. We hoped for the best and trusted Eckhard with our dogs hearing. Eckhard told me after the surgery that when he went in and opened the ear that he was sure that he would find the ear drums ruptured due to the diarrhea like substance that was coming out but that he was rapt to find two little intact ear drums so he could still procede with the Zepps procedure. I can honestly say our dog was happier three days after surgery even with the cone on his head and heaps of stitches and obvious discomfort than he was with, his sore ears prior to the surgery. Two weeks later the stitches were removed, the ears had healed beautifully and his ears were clear of muck for the very first time and unless you are shown what has been done you wouldnt notice any difference in how the ears look. We now have a much happier, more playful, more cuddly, more alive dog than we did before, it is wonderful to see. He no longer ducks his head when anyone pats him, he no longer shakes his head, hangs his head to one side, hides away from other dogs or human, his ears do not smell, he can eat any food, he does not have allergies, there is no brown muck in his ears, i have not put one drop of medicine in his ears since the surgery which was 5 months ago. And the added bonus on top was Vet Associates charged $1,000 less than the other vets had quoted, I paid $2500 where i was quoted $3500 elsewhere. I highly recommend this vet practice, they are fantastic and we will be definately be using them again. The one thing Eckhard said was that people usually leave this surgery too late and the ear drums rupture. I am soooo glad we got this done for our dog before that happened. Thank you very much Vet Associates Takanini.
