Been going to Rob for years would not go anywhere else even came back from holiday for him to treat our very old

First time there today with Polly and Percy, two Bassett Hounds - Rob was fabulous! Love his honest - simple style - great knowledge. Thank you.

Great vet. Unfortunately we had to be there for a sad occasion, to have a dog put down.

Quick appointment booking so doggy didn't have to wait long to be seen. Excellent vet who really listens and explains the diagnosis and medication. Great service with a smile, too.

We had been waiting for weeks for our Vet to be able to cut our 16yrs old Beautiful longhaired cats nails. decided to ring Robs and we were able to get in straight away with our masks on and distancing, he said her nails were starting to grow into her skin!! 10 minutes later it was all done and dusted and we appreciated his professional manner and his lovely receptionist!! Well done!!

Rob Bloomfield was fantastic. I feel reassured with all the information he gave us regarding our 14 year old dog who has lymphoma. Appointment wasn't rushed and he thought of 2 other things I had wanted to ask about but forgot. I totally recommend him.

My husband Ian and I moved to Levin 16 months ago with our two Maltese Angel and Casper and needed to find a vet which we did and after today I would recommend Rob to anyone that has a pet and needs an incredible caring vet. My two babies needed a lot of teeth extracted and cleaned, and Angel has had an eye problem that needed treatment again. The cost was great for all that was done and my two came home happy little dogs even though they had been under a general anesthetic. Thank you Rob for being such an amazing vet.

I have found Rob to be brilliant. We moved from Hamilton and my dog has trust issues so taking him in was always a chore. I suggested a muzzle but Rob said he preferred not to. Rob was amazing and my dog just sat there and did not even flinch for his vaccinations. First time ever! He was also kind, as were the staff when i had to get my 16 year old cat put to sleep. He is straight up and to the point but I think that is a good thing. Dogs are great judges of character, and my dog is happy so i wont be changing!

Rob has both the skills and expertise in so many ways. My cat worships the ground that Rob walks on. Well worth a visit he's a true hero!

5.30pm 14/5/19: Thank you all so very much for relieving my 18yo Minnie (Staffie X) of her toothache. She is a happier than I have seen her for some time. What a brave soul she is. She has eaten well this evening, drinking well too. Still a bit wobbly but insisted on greeting her young Griffin friend Lexy, then they left each other alone. Respect in the Pack I guess. Thank you again for the number of years you have looked after her. Best Vet I have experienced over 60years of being with/owning dogs and cats. :) :) :)

Rob has taken care of my staffy x and lab x for over 13 years from prostate troubles and cancer, yesterday another quick diagnosis with treatment providing an instant result, not only providing a cure for my best mate but stress relief for me as well! Thanks so much, very fortunate to have a first class vet in Levin

Vet rob is awesome, our cat needed medical help urgently and he took very good care of our kitty he's now home & doing very well . Both him & his staff were very nice. Highly recommend vet rob.

Based on our experience 4.5 stars because: 1. equal service to other vets but 2. faster and 3. significantly less expensive treatment cost (ongoing medication: in line with other vet practises ie. significantly more expensive than reputable NZ based internet retailers). Details are: Our male 9 year old English Pointer had rotten teeth needing extraction (he’s also stiff in the backside which VET ROB spotted immediately). At the suggestion of a work colleague we went to VET ROB for a second opinion as we felt the estimated treatment cost from the first vet we visited was felt to be high. We were seen promptly for quick no-nonsense assessment and given significantly better quote covering more extractions. Vet struck me as old school (as am I) but caring. By “old schooI” I mean recognising that an animal deserves care, consideration, to be pain-free and to be treated well but that at the end of the day it is an animal, not a human, companion and that cost does matter. I suspect that also being a farm vet means VET ROB is exposed regularly to the financial realities of being a responsible animal owner. It was explained that the dog, being large and pedigree, would need the more expensive of 2 anaesthetics and that the method of extraction was the quicker, original pulling out of the teeth as opposed to the current more expensive method now taught at vet school. Another, significantly more expensive, vet had advised a 6 week wait for treatment (with pain & cost of painkillers throughout). Initially VET ROB indicated 1.5 weeks but spotted opportunity to fit our dog in within 3 days. So eventually, less than 1 week after we first noticed our dog in pain VET ROB ended up having to pull sigificantly more teeth than initially estimated (he had warned us that anything with a hole would end up going) and presented us with a lower than quoted bill and a drowsy dog (same day = no expensive overnight stays). 5 Days on and dog is happy as Larry (started eating the day after the dental work - gums stopped bleeding yesterday). Friendly reception staff too. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is that the mark up on medicine appears to be as per standard vet practise - painfully about twice the price as available (with prescription) on line from reputable NZ pet medicine supply websites. Based on his friendly disposition though I suspect this vet would not hesitate to provide us with a copy of the prescription (am yet to ask as we did buy a supply from him to start with). My wife had been worried that the original vet pricing was so high that it would mean the dog would have to be put down (me having grown up on a farm where the cost of maintaining an animal, including pets, is taken into account every step of the way). In our case this wouldn’t quite have been the case but for someone in different financial circumstances the other vet’s pricing may well have been enough to have the decision go the other way and curtail the life of an otherwise perfectly happy dog with a few years of good quality life to live. Thank You VET ROB ! (btw dog’s treats are now slices of cheese instead of sugar laden schmackos and carob choc treats and you’re right that there’s no hope brushing his teeth regularly).

Great vet. Pricing is reasonable and sometimes Rob may let you pay the account off.

What a excellent vet cl7nic my puppy of 14 years and had a stroke, the service rob and his team gave jessie was first class, I wish I had the same service from hospital when I had several strokes.
