Good location. Comfortable bed. Room adequate needs some updating & General TLC, Weird dining table set in 2nd bedroom, instead of beds! Only tea/coffee facilities.Room phone & internet not working, however management offered 10% discount to compensate. Weird hallways everywhere, scarce signage. Although Adequate probably will not stay again.

Nice pool and balcony. Our room was at the end so it was a hassle walking to your rooms as the elevator is right at the end, nearly like walking in a terminal! Otherwise loved it, private parking also.

Stayed here 3 nights checkin was easy made sure our passes were checked we had a room on the second floor the reviews are right these rooms are quite huge compared to most Hotel rooms unfortunately we had to access the covered carpark on another street at back of the hotel the plus was our room was near the exit and near the carpark so we didnt have far to carry our bags thank gosh or I would have been complaining...However we proceeded to our room we walked in to a one bedroom apartment nice but very basic no plates only cups glasses I know it is a Hotel and that what it is basic...my friend had to walk a mile to the elevator to go down to reception to get plates knives forks and spoons (I knowing how Hotels operate had brought some cutlery and a plate from home) it was for our cheese board snacks and wine...it was lovely.. Cleanliness the mirror on the wardrobe was smudged, the panel to the bathroom door had not been cleaned, the hand basin had not been cleaned and the mirror was dirty plus cobwebs in the lounge area... The reason for the cleaning review I used to clean Motels and Hotels are no different outside was lovely to stand on the balcony and watch the kids swimming and lovely to hear the water of the spa running through the night quite soothing other than those little things it was good..

Wasn’t very impressed with my stay here. The room was very big and spacious, but no microwave or cutlery (no fork to eat my takeaways), and the mini fridge is full of purchasables, so not any space for food. My room was also next to some sort of water pump, so it was very loud when it would engage. Very simple room with only the necessities. The coffee in the room was very good though, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Overall, probably won’t stay here again.

The breakfasts we had were absolutely delicious alas the hot water on Saturday morning was cold. The room was very nice we had no pricing for the mini bar, no signs for the door so we couldn't put anything out for newspapers or do not disturb signs etc, the sky magazine was no where to be seen in our room and the reception for skytv was poor. But the staff were very friendly although Sunday day morning at breakfast we didnt quite understand why were being charged for coffee with our breakfast as this normally comes in the price of the breakfast at most hotels. However overall we did enjoy our stay.

Our room was fantastic, we had a balcony overlooking the river, room was spacious and very clean, bathroom was big with a deep modern bath. I see a lot of negative reviews however our stay was the complete opposite.

Best value around. A one bedroom pool view unit less expensive than other 4 star motels in Gisborne. Simply walk out onto the main street, undercover secure parking by access with your room key card and a great pool and heated pool. Highly recommend.

Good hotel in the heart of Gisborne. Well located so you can wander to the beach via the river, right on the main street in town. Rooms are okay, very large but a bit outdated. There was something running on and off outside the window throughout the night (perhaps someone else's aircon unit) which was quite disturbing when trying to sleep. Beds were comfortable however, the tv was mounted on the wall in an awkward spot so we couldn't really enjoy watching anything from the bed. Good for what and where it is and pricing wasn't too bad, staff were all lovely.

Hi there. So I booked a double and 2 singles in one room at $185.00 When we arrived our booking was in a room with 2 singles and we got charged again for a double room. We all were on a very tight budget and this was not at all what I had booked. The dude on the desk would NOT help us in any way as much as we asked him too. The date was 10th April. Most disappointed and ruined our stay Also we were charged $55.00 for a buffet meal which was probably worth $30.00 at most and nothing for my Vegan partner until we complained then she got it when most others had finished their meal. All in all VERY VERY DISAPOINTED.

Excellent stay, friendly professional staff. Relaxed atmosphere and convenient location. Close to water way walks. Only hassle experienced was access to the parking, only one entrance with one way traffic, if someone is going up the vehicle at the top either have to wait or backup again.

Nice hotel but our room was near a noisey ventilation system

I had enjoyed all the offerings that this hotel offered except for a slightly indignant response from a staff member! Just unexpected but that's a small price and something that can't be taken as representative... Despite that, my urge to run her over remains intact, my bad!! 😂 Anyhow the decor, the room itself and the facilities were great. But i must admit... In the middle of the morning and you hear the words 'yes daddy yes' only then you realise that the walls are paper thin but somewhat entertaining.. My bad!! 😂 I have to say... Despite my car having a literal heart attack and spilling all its oil over the car park floor and still awaiting the repair bill... I can't attribute that to the experience of the Hotel... Just bad luck!! Do you detect a theme here?? Hmm hmm 🤔😅😅😅 Thankfully, the stay at The Emerald Hotel was worth it. It was largely the back drop to a splendid time in picturesque Gisborne.

Excellent staff, clean, spacious, central, car parking and the pool was amazing. Will definitely stay again. Just needed earplugs for the morning (5am) trucks!!!

Beautiful Room, very clean and modern. The car parking is very limited here and the sensor lights weren't working on two of the levels. The carpark stairwells weren't well lit either.

It’s unbelievable how big and comfortable this hotel is!

The house keeping staff were outstanding in cleaning our room and moving our luggage very professional and friendly,,the reception team went above and beyond in helping us with allocating us a parking spot close to our room as i have health issues.top notch all around would recommend the Emerald Hotel anyone wanting to stay in the city centre based on the staff and amenities.

Stayed two nights, booked online but there was a problem and did not recieve the room I paid for, however the receptionist was fantastic and moved us to another room for the 2nd night. Room was for 4 ppl and only had 2 towels in the bathroom. Light on the deck didnt work. Gated parking, however if you park on 2nd level you have to walk your luggage down a stairwell which has no lighting. Odd configuration of the hotel. Overall opinion is that I would stay elsewhere.

It was a last minute stay on an East Cape roadie. Large room overlooking the pool area. No issue with noise especially as the bedroom was interior. Had everything I needed for a comfortable night stay.

We had booked this hotel for the river view and boy was it worth it!! We initially got a room without a balcony. I requested the staaf if we could get a balcony room and they were happily offerd us an upgrade to a 2 bedroom apartment. The view was magnificent. I must say this view made my stay at Emerald hotel my best part of Gisborne. Sagar at reception suggested we go to Kaiti hill for the sunrise. It it was experience we will never forget. He also suggested a great Indian restaurant which we ended up loving. Thank you for an awesome stay!

Very good staff a big thank you to AJ front desk. Double room rate should not exceed $150 per night Perhaps do a package including cooked breakfast, it's about rooms sold, cooked breakfast your cost per PAX maybe $7.00 per head cost. Amortized into room rate with volume you will turn a profit all year round.

Nice Location and Nice Room for the price. We loved the large balcony overlooking the pool area. Amazing attitudes and always willing to go above and beyond when asked. I have stayed here ***y times over the years and feel its great value for money. I will definitely return for a holiday.

We loved our overnight stay at this hotel. From the car park you can easily access the hotel and our room was a short walk away. There was a full cooked Buffett available that tasted amazing I do hope they improve back to the standard they were before I come back to stay in November.

Super room.Staff very friendly and helpful. Car park is secure. Only downside is distance to lift znd reception. Good job they give you a map. Small issue though.

The location, room size and view over the pool were great. No "Do Not Disturb" sign available. Please note also, this hotel is not in Patutahi but in Gisborne City.

Recently used the Penthouse Room on the top floor of the Emerald Hotel and had a great night. Hotel provides free parking in a locked carpark which should ensure the safety of your car. Limited secure Guest Parking is available. The even provide a coffee-press and the coffe provided to use tasted great. Great value for money.

Had a great stay here! We asked to change rooms to get a bath instead of a shower and Lee, the lady at reception was very friendly and helpful and helped us without any issue! Jacuzzi is nice aswell!!

Only thing I would say needs improving is the entrance to the hotel, quite hard to find so needs a bigger sign. The next morning I asked at Reception to be moved to a room without road noise. We'd like to say a special mention to Deb, …

Great hotel in a great location. Massive room (we had a 1brm poolside unit). Great service. Centre of town. Inexpensive for what you get. Beds are very old school soft which may not be for everyone.

Huge rooms very comfortable but central room lighting & suitcase bench lighting poor. VG meals staff pleasant. Quiet.

Last time we stayed at Hotel Emerald it was great. The room was huge and overlooked the Marina. I had room which had nice big balcony and the views of the river. The staff were very friendly. We had room service for dinner that night and the service and food were very good.

Could be a really awesome hotel - big comfy rooms, great food in the restaurant, but seriously under-staffed. Rooms on the riverside are great, but the road facing rooms are too noisy (single glazed) and you can expect to be woken up at 4am by the first truck heading to the port!

Large rooms. Pool and hot spa is decent. Gym is terrible and the corridors are oddly large. Can get lost if not paying attention. However, I always enjoy my stay.

The layout of the hotel was the most confused I have ever seen in 60 yrs of travelling. The hotel might be best for people that are comfortable in finding things out for themselves in a city. My scores are based on the fact we got a discount and complimentary breakfast.

Well sited, very nice atmosphere. Had a wonderful meal and evening with an organised group. We had our own bar and dining area, and service we very good also.

Stayed 2 nights, skeleton staff because of covid but they worked really hard for our elderly group. We ate on site last night great food.

Was there for a meeting which included a meal and a talk in the conference room. The service was good, the meal was lovely but i left feeling absolutely frozen to the core. The conference room was like an icebox.

The hotel is very centrally located for a trip to Gisborne whether it is for business or pleasure. The river is at the rear of the hotel and provides pleasant walks. The entire layout makes no sense at all and must be a logistical nightmare because of the amount of space used up by endless corridors and blind alleys.

Staff in reception are very hospitable helpful and polite. Bristol bar beautiful meals, and the staff going out of their way to help. Accommodation excellent as well as the staff very helpful.

It wasn't bad but it's annoying how you have to have the key card in to have the lights going especially if one goes out and one stays in. Staff were friendly

Stayed here for the weekend great stay comfy bed we arrived late and the restaurant rang us to see if we wanted dinner before they closed.

The reception does not have any kind of tourist information or free maps or anything and weren't especially helpful in finding a place to eat in Gisborne. Co****dium pages were stuck together with god knows what. As the hotel felt empty and we had an expensive room this annoyed me.

Very hard for parking, rooms were a very good size, bathroom was very up to date. Over all, I'd definitely stay again.

On the mainstreet by the river with restaurant and a great bar downstairs. Love it and would have enjoyed in its entertainment heyday. In the CBD and always my first accommodation choice when visiting Gisborne.

We stayed here in November of last year the staff made our stay very comfortable the rooms are beautiful had plenty of space for both me and my partner plus our 2 kids who loved the pool we had a pool view awesome balcony clean room awesome services overall we enjoyed our stay at the emerald we have booked another room for end of March thank you so much to all the staff at the emerald I highly recommend this hotel to everyone 😊😊😊😊😊😉😉

nice to stay in the central of Gisborne. easy to access and the pool in the middle relaxing. unfortunately the breakfast in the hotel is too pricy but the food was good and nicely prepared

Friendly service- got a bit turned around in the hotel as room signage was not the best. Quite a rambling venue but right in the middle of town. Plenty of parking.

The best place to stay in the to wn centre. Clean tidy and quality staff. A nice restaurant and attached to an Irish bar and restaurant. Brilliant.

The hotel is a bit tired but the rooms are spotless and nice and big. Comfortable bed and good location for the main road.

Large rooms and even larger halls. You could play cricket in one. In need of some upgrades here and there. Its a bit of a rabbit warren finding your way in, especially by car.

Nice rooms, balcony and pool, but shocking food service - wouldn't serve us dinner after 8.30 pm and not even room service was available after this time!!

Good location right in the town, short walks to shops of all sorts on one side, views of the harbor on the other, I like to cook but our room had no kitchen just a basic kitchenette, disappointed about that!

For the price I would have expected slightly higher quality. Renovations or maintenance was being carried out in the pool area at the time which was a bit disrupting.

Beautiful courtyard, nice sized room. Bit of a shame about the state of the fittings. Aircon was noisy, phone didn't work and the internet was rubbish. Real shame because it's a lovely place

The employees seem to be well motivated. Very friendly service. The long corridors and paths to the garage I think now not so bad, rather the missing window. (Original) Die Zimmer sind unnötig groß und in zwei Räume aufgeteilt. So ganz chic, jedoch fehlt dem Schlafzimmer das Fenster! Ansonsten ist alles ganz gut wie man auch an den Fotos sehen kann. Die Mitarbeiter scheinen gut motiviert zu sein. Sehr freundlicher Service. Die langen Flure und Wege zur Garage finde ich jetzt nicht so schlimm, eher das fehlende Fenster.

朝食バイキングがなかなか良かったので、個人的にも泊まってみたい。観光にはお薦めです。とても大きなホテルです。夜遅くに到着しましたが、チェックインに問題ありませんでした。

昼の１２時すぎに着き、すぐチェックインしてくれました。食事は種類が非常に多かったです。立地が良く非常に便利です。
