I highly recommend Balance Pilates! I attended the 7 week prenatal pilates course with Bron and Sarah and they were both so helpful and considerate and made everyone feel comfortable and capable. Invaluable to learn breathing techniques and about your pelvic floor going into something as big as birth! I hope to get to some more classes before giving birth :)

I attended the 7 week prenatal course with Bron and Sarah - I absolutely loved it! Both Bron and Sarah were very caring, warm and welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure that myself and everyone in the course was comfortable. I am now attending the regular class with pregnancy modifications and hope to continue post baby as well :)

I started at Balance Pilates at 19 weeks pregnant, continued until 39 weeks pregnant, and with Brons help started back at 8 weeks post-partum :)
The postnatal reformer 8 week course was a great way to get back into exercise - and it was great to be able to bring my baby along. It was a very welcoming and supportive course.

Bron and Sarah have been absolutely fantastic teachers - taking us through a 7 week prenatal reformer Pilates course.
Super caring and accomodating to our growing and changing bodies, I felt really safe and well looked after.
I’m really looking forward to returning for their post-natal course once bubs is here.

I can't recommend Balance Pilates more highly. Bron and her team are amazing teachers - very patient and professional but also incredibly friendly and welcoming. Plus the facilities in Cashmere are a pleasure to be in - such a beautiful spot and building. Pilates has become my me-time - time to focus on my breathing and to recharge and strengthen my body. Since coming to see Bron and her team my posture has definitely improved and I feel a lot stronger in my core. The option of a 6monthly membership works well for me as it allows me to do as many classes as I can without worrying about paying each week or how many classes I have left on my plan - one less thing to have to remember to do!! Joining Balance Pilates Cashmere is the best thing I've done for a long time. The teachers are amazing - so knowledgeable and always there to ensure you're getting the most out of each exercise, to challenge you and to adapt for individual needs. The facilities are fantastic (including a brand new medical grade infrared sauna), plus there's lots of classes to choose from and it's a super friendly, supportive environment. Who knew you could have so much fun while working on core, strength and flexibility. I'm hooked!

I found Balance Pilates by accident when a friend gifted me a few classes there and it quickly became my home away from home. I felt immediately welcomed by both the staff and the other clients and ended up going to at least 3 classes a week (thank goodness for the weekly unlimited classes package!). The trainers are excellent and encourage you to work hard while being very mindful of injuries that may require special attention. And the studio space itself is amazing. Very peaceful, modern and clean with a stunning view of the Southern Alps (believe me, the fantastic view helps when you’re pushing yourself to get through the exercises 😊) If you’re looking for a great Pilates studio, this place is top notch!

Back pain? Balance Pilates may just be your golden ticket to a better, stronger, more supported back. I have a compressed lower spine and hypermobile sacrum. My chiropractor had been telling me all year to practice Pilates. I knew it would but better but didn't realise it would be life changing. This week's sequence of Pilates has made my back feel better than it has in months. So good, that I just had to share it with ya'll. No more anti-inflammatories and pain killers for me this week! Give it a go, what have you go to lose? ;-)

After a 2 year journey visiting a never ending trail of clinical practitioners a wise Massage Therapist suggested I try Reformer Pilates as a way to restore better functioning in my shoulder.
I visited Balance Pilates for an assessment and introduction to the reformer machines, Bron (pilates tutor) and Michelle (physiotherapist) immediately collaborated to come up with a programme that has helped me resolve problems that other practitioners couldn’t.
I invested in a package of 10 private reformer sessions with Bron, her observant feedback and attentive adjustments have been invaluable; Bron’s enthusiasm and friendly personality certainly eased me through some painful and difficult days.
Michelle carried out a comprehensive physio assessment (a very patient and empathic listener) and provided physio intervention to release whatever was jammed, alongside a graded rehab programme of homework exercises to stabilise the joint – I learned why “less is more”.
The Balance Pilates studio is friendly, peaceful and calming. The facilities are always immaculately clean, and parking is easy; all staff greet you professionally. If you’re thinking about giving Pilates a try, this is a safe, accessible and welcoming place to be. The studio still feels nice and new and Bron has exciting plans to develop the services further, so there is always something happening. I found the bookings reminder system very useful, there are plenty of options for participating and it helps if you can be flexible with your diary.
Now I’m less anxious and guarded about my old injuries and I'll be forever grateful for the expertise and care of these highly skilled practitioners, they helped me create space and time for my body to heal itself, just wish I had found this place sooner 😊.

I had my first Pilates class with Bron in May, since then I haven’t stopped going to her classes. Bron showed me how Pilates can support to heal aches in your body and bring yourself in a balance. She is a very experienced teacher and really takes care of your individual situation, gives tips and advises in any direction you want to push your body. After 7 months of weekly classes ( single-, duo-, and group classes) with Bron I feel a lot stronger and in a better balance with my own body. Can’t wait to have my next class with her in 2019!

Hi I absolutely love Balanced Pilates. Since joining I can honestly say I feel stronger, more in tune with my body and on top of age old weaknesses. I look forward to classes with Bronwyn and the team they are a professional and fun mix of challenging exercises and relaxation.. The atmosphere is great and the studio beautiful. I feel so very lucky to have found Bron at Balance Pilates. After moving from Auckland to Christchurch I was worried I was going to have trouble finding a Pilates studio that would work for me. I was used to a highly trained, enthusiastic and fun instructor and I got everything I wished for in Bron in fact I got more. She rates with me a 100 out of 10!!
She is very experienced and is able to impart that experience in a way that those of us who are not can easily understand. Her knowledge of how our bodies work is incredible if you arrive with a few aches and pains she always has some suggestions to help. Her enthusiasm is off the charts she is so committed to giving her clients the perfect experience. Her love of Pilates is obvious in all her private and group classes. Whichever class you choose you will have the best time ever and come away feeling fantastic.

I've been going to Balance Pilates for a year now & have really enjoyed the friendly encouraging atmosphere that Bronwyn and her team have created. Even just doing classes once a week I have felt the benefits and get a lot less frustrating niggles/injuries than what I used to before doing pilates. Bronwyn & Balance Pilates are certainly a great asset within our community.

If I could give more than 5 out of 5, I would. I started at Balance Pilates to work on lower back issues as other exercise options were just making it worse. Each session has been tailored to my needs and Bron is consistently focused on ensuring that I am doing each movement 100% correctly. I am thrilled to be developing greater strength and flexibility. The bonus is that Bron is one of those rare gems, always making you feel welcome and respected.

I had planned to play Pilates for long time but I did not have time to play. Now, I had the opportunity while traveling to New Zealand, and my boyfriend recommended Balance Pilates to me. I sent a message to ask about how to start Pilates, and Bronwyn sent a questionnaire to me for knowing about me before my first lesson in order to prepare and design exercises for me. I had back pain and a knee problem before I started. After my first lesson, I felt better about my back pain, and my knee did not have crepitus anymore. After the second time, my back pain disappeared, and i felt good about my knee. My posture when i walked, stand and sit got better. I feel good, as my stomach muscles feel stronger. I fell in love with Pilates and my body after I played. I recommend “Balance Pilates” for everyone interested in Pilates. It is a great sport, and Bronwyn is a great teacher.
Some people can not run because of knee problems, some people can not do a lot of sport because of back pain. I recommend Pilates, as it can help to strengthen core muscle and cardio. It does not break your bones and knees, but it helps growing muscles for supporting the bones. I do not feel pain when I have period anymore since I play Pilates, because I have more muscles around my stomach. Ask Bronwyn, she is a good teacher and trainer. It’s not necessary to have a reformer machine, because you can do at home with a mat, too.
