M.What a magical location. High on a hill overlooking the ocean. We enjoyed the train carriage for accommodation and a beautiful clean kitchen (with adequate fridge facilities). There are only 2 showers but the limited facilities fit the vibe of the place.
Make sure you walk down to the beach. It’s a scenic and steep 2km walk down. Also check out the stream on the property, past the tipi - it’s great for a dip.
We visited as part of the Solrise gathering and loved the creative atmosphere. Plenty of spaces for dancing and yoga.
A must visit if you want some peace and to re energise.
K.Amazing view of the ocean as your perched on a cliff looking down at everything. Not a party hostel but has that nice balance where everyone is social and will have afew drinks in the evening but you can still count on getting a good nights sleep.
This is a bit out of the town so consider transportation, I had a motorcycle so I was good but getting to town on foot is a bit of a trek.
J.Stunning soulful retreat nestled conveniently close to Manu Bay and Raglan town, the accommodation was meticulously cared for and all the little things thought of.
My girlfriend and I stayed in the Eco Bach and it was so awesome!
J.Incredible ocean view from the front garden area, which also has vegetarian/vegan wood fire pizza available to have for dinner from 5pm -8pm on Friday and Saturday nights as well as a plant-based breakfast menu. We chose the East room and it also looks out to the sea, so to wake up to this each day is very nice. Be sure to walk to the fresh water drinking fountain then onto the tipee tents further along. It's 15 minutes walk to the beach. We stayed three nights although two nights would be adequate. Our room had a quite large and very comfy sun bed. Highly recommend Solscape if you're into eco retreats like we are or keen to experience something slightly different.
L.I’ve had massages before, but not like this. I felt like I was professionally caressed and sometimes even cradled with Yvonne’s beautiful Ka Huna massage, leaving my body feeling completely relaxed and the tension released. But it went even deeper than my physical body - I felt my body in connection with my being, giving me an awareness of my own emotions, thoughts and spirituality. I couldn’t help notice the flow of breathing and beautiful dance-like rhythm Yvonne performed as she worked through each of my muscles. It was a gift. I suggest if you’re reading this, you should book in now! This style of massage was beautiful and soul-filling. It’s so healing. Thanks Yvonne. I loved it! I will be back for another.
N.What a gem! I had a fabulous stay at Solscape and fell in love with the place. Fantastic views over the ocean and a quick walk through beautiful bush to the beach. Friendly staff and great communal area, clean and tidy. Was very pleasantly surprised when they upgraded me into a private cabin and I could sleep of my jetlag. Had a wonderful sleep in a very comfy bed! Didn't try yoga or cafe but everyone who did really enjoyed it. Will definitely return. Big thanks especially to wonderful Dominic!
A.Love the views the provision of kitchen facilities at present, however I think a freezer for things like ice cream would be good, and power points in the caboose would be helpful. Staff were helpful and caring and volunteers respectful. Loved the yoga and hirage of suftboards and wetsuits. Be nice to have access to an indoor area after hours near the views.
F.Stunning venue! We went up to watch the sunset over the waves. The sun is just out of sight but the colours are full force.
Try the woodfired pizzas on the weekend (but call ahead to see if they are doing them).
They don't sell alcohol but you can BYO. Heard a girl saying that it was $3 per glass of wine, not per bottle or per person. If you were thinking of BYO, maybe confirm that ahead of time.
M.Very beautiful location. The cafe overlooks the ocean, and the grounds are well maintained. The concept of an eco hotel is well done here. We stayed in a Tipi. The walk from the carpark to the Tipi forest is only 5 minutes- but it's an uphill walk and feels a lot longer. Composting toilets are pretty smelly, but that's to be expected.

T.Yoga / surf / vegan OASIS!! This place is my favorite spot in Raglan. I actually didn’t stay here but I came a bunch to hang out, do yoga classes, eat their delicious smoothies and vegan breakfast + lunch and do some computer work with the amazing view (they have WiFi). They present their food/smoothies so beautifully with edible flowers from the gardens. The view is awesome from the top of the hill and going to Ngarunui Beach for a swim after was only a few minutes in the car. Also on Wednesday nights they have live music & vegan pizza (GF options) which is a great vibe / place to hang. Highly recommend this place while you’re in Raglan :)

J.I woofed here an it was amazing! the veiw and distance from the surfing beaches is unmatched! The staff are lovely and the vegan food is just a massive cherry on the cake! Wish I could have stayed longer!

K.Cozy stay off the beaten trail, we enjoyed bonding with nature during our stay hopefully next time we can try the ivy cottage! The most impressive feature is the view, absolutely breathtaking.
M.My absolute LOVE! Favorite vista ever. Could live here. The Caboos was cozy and bath facilities so-so, but the outdoor space, trails, cafe, surfing, yoga and views make up for it ten-food. Really good vibes and people here. Help out in the garden or take a stroll to one of the nearby beaches. Can’t recommend enough!
J.Very cozy place with a great view!! Large kitchen, bbq area, a garden, and an earth pizza oven. Unlike other hostels in Ranglan, they were very helpful with booking rooms for a large group (there was 14 of us). Staff was very nice. Highly recommended!

J.It was a wonderful place te be. From the restaurant you have a beautiful outlook over the ocean. The sleeping area is very nicely built and put togetter. We loved it. The food was delicious. And a very good startingpoint to explore the area.
C.The most exciting hostel you'll stay in. You can either sleep in old recycled train carriages, self made earth domes, teepees or self contained luxury accommodations. It also has the most amazing sea view!

A.Lovely place but wasn't prepared for the back and forth distance to tipi. No cars allowed and long walk when you are dragging a bag. Wasn't prepared due to it being a surprise. Disappointed that the cafe doesn't stay open after 3pm on a Sunday. Would have been nice to have dinner with the view.

M.Absolutely amazing place .We stayed in the tipi forest for 2nights. Tipi very warm clean and so peaceful in the forest. Everything is solar lighting also showers. We ate at the vegan restaurant breakfast lunch and dinner. we will be back again to visit and stay, amazing experience !

H.Very average tent sites with basic facilities. I understand it is more about the camping in yurts and huts and that looked great. The tent view wasn't anything special but the cafe sits with an unreal view and they were lovely people. Good place to meet others.

J.Beautiful place, great yoga, delicious food, a short and beautiful bush walk from the sea, great amenities (eg kitchen, BBQ), genuinely lovely place to hang out. I had a massage, it was so good. Highly recommend the pizza, vegan burger, and bringing a book to hang out with on the lawn reading between staring into the sea.
T.Beautiful site with a combination of camper spaces and upscale, unique cottages. The view is breathtaking and their is free wifi in the main cafe area, which a great place to read. They also have hot showers and a nice shared kitchen

A.There really is no better place on earth if you want to chill, camp, stay in a small cabin, motorhome, whatever. They cater for all. Great vibe. Just up the road from Manu Bay for surfing. Great place! Much love for Solscape.
S.Loved the vibe, views and earth domes at solscape. I’d recommend bringing your own kitchen utensils and dishes as the communal kitchen can be a bit greasy due to other guests :( Cant wait to holiday there again.
T.Interesting place to stay on a budget. Rail carriage was comfortable to sleep in but realize there is not much room for anything else and no power points. If you want to read a book in bed take a torch

A.Excellent place to stay, especially if you're interested in surfing or yoga. Their surf instructors are very patient and encouraging. This place also offers the cheapest surf rentals I've found in Raglan so far. $35 for a halfday wetsuit/board combo, $45 for the full. Definitely worth it!
A.The atmosphere is so relaxed that you can feel your body unwinding. The view out over the coast is breathtaking, coupled with a fruit smoothie and a good book you could spend the day there! I heartily recommend the vegan pizzas too!
M.Solscape is delicious. And the view is amazing. Full disclosure: I'm not vegan. I've had vegan food before, and I've liked it probably half the times I've had it. My Airbnb host highly recommended their pizza night and she's been batting 1.000 so far so off to pizza night I went. I had the special pizza, with asparagus creme instead of vegan cheese, topped with tomato, zucchini, and walnuts. It was delicious! I had their side salad with it. That was tasty and full of seasonal veggies from what I think is their on-site garden. Anyway, go to pizza night. I would have given this 5 stars but I felt a bit invisible there. No one checked on me, and ordering was confusing. One person told me to have a seat, another told me to go order at the till. Spoiler: order at the till. On their defense, I was eating solo and probably was a low blip on the radar. Ps. BYOB.

A.Love from first sight. I have been coming to Raglan for a few years and never knew this place. Now that I know it, I regret all the times I spent money on food somewhere else. This, and Rock-it Kitchen, are my favourite places to eat in Raglan.
I'm not even Vegan, but I loved the vegan burger, the chips and the aioli sauce. The views of the coast are amazing from here.
S.My favorite restaurant in Raglan. Beautifully located overlooking the sea, The Conscious Kitchen offers delicious plant-based food for reasonable prices. The only thing missing is a children's menu and a changing table. Other than that, amazing and a must-visit!

A.Had a great time at Solscape! We stayed in the Family Bach for two nights, attended a yoga class one night, and a surf lesson during the day. Beautiful and well-designed venue.
S.Ataahua (beautiful) place to stay and camp. Family of 5 stayed one night in the Belle tent and two nights in the Bush belle tent very tidy, spacious and comfortable. Both powered and solor light kitchens has all the kitchen amenities for a camping experience. The staff are ataahua souls who are very welcoming and friendly.
On our last day we ordered pancakes and the big breakfast from the conscious kicthen. The food was divine with the most tino ataahua perfect sea views. We are very blessed 🙏 thank you Solscape for a beauiful experience. We will be back.
L.Awesome property with a gorgeous view and many unique types of accommodations for a variety of budgets. Best food I've had in New Zealand! I took a yoga class and it was outstanding. Customer service could be improved. I walked up to reception and the two ladies working behind the counter noticed me but couldn't be bothered yo even acknowledge my presence until they finished their own conversation after a couple of minutes. Also, there are no towels available for overnight guests. You're in your own for drying off if you want to have a shower. Next to the bathroom sinks hangs a communal hand towel. I'm I'll for being environmentally consientious but a public hand towel is just unhygenic. Towel issues and spotty customer service aside, I would stay here again.

J.Solscape was a really great place with a beautiful view and a great vibe. However, I found the front desk to be a little checked-out a lot of the time, and although they were helpful they just seemed a little un-enthused (maybe the time of year?!) We stayed in a cute little caboose with a queen bed and nice bright windows. Again, however, the bed doesn't actually reach the wall, which is a bit of a nuissance and we felt like we were always losing out pillows over the edge. No plug-ins in the room which is a big drawback, and the Free wifi is down at reception at the café (which seems to be closed at this time of year). So, not exactly the ideal workspace if you are wanting to get some work done. Not too cozy and I froze! Again, not horrible, and this place does have a lot of cool stuff going on, I just wasn't blown away by any means. Just felt a bit....

Es un lugar muy especial. Además de ser hermoso y muy original, fomenta el cuidado del medio ambiente en todas sus formas. Practican permacultura, reciclaje y usan fuentes de energía renovable. Además tienen una pintoresca concious kitchen con comida vegana que es exquisita, incluso para los que no somos veganos.
Se ofrecen clases de surf, alquiler de tablas y unas excelentes clases de yoga.
Es recomendable contar con vehículo para ir ahí porque el centro más cercano es lejos como para ir a pie. Internet sólo anda en el main y enchufes sólo hay en las áreas comunes. A pesar de esto vale la pena alojarse unos días sin duda.

However, at our age, there was no toilet shower in the room, and at night, we walked on a gravel road without lights under the sky star and reached the toilet 10m away. The temperature difference between the local morning and evening in February was severe, the room in the daytime was hot, and the night was cold without heating, especially to my wife who hates insects.
Is it good for young surfers?
It is harsh for those who attend during daytime hot weather. A parasol is a must for women. The locals will not mind.

素晴らしい環境景色も文句無し、此処での結婚式に呼ばれ出席。
但し私たちの歳で部屋にトイレシャワーも無く、夜は満天の星の下漆黒の灯りのない砂利道を歩き10m 先のトイレ迄。2月の現地朝晩の温度差が激しく、昼間の部屋は暑く、夜は暖房も無く寒い、特に虫の嫌いな妻には酷でした。
若いサーファーには良いのかな？
日中炎天下の結婚式、参列者には過酷です。女性には日傘がマストです。現地の方は気にしないでしょうが。
