S.I have adopted two kittens from here, one last Christmas and one this past January. They are both happy, healthy bundles of fun, I can't imagine my life without them.
The people that work there are very friendly and let me take my time in selecting the kitten that I was going to give a forever home to. The cages are kept tidy and kitties have toys to play with and post for scratching, all the comforts of home.
I highly recommend adopting from the SPCA, you won't regret it.
J.We got our beautiful staffy from here! I like their application process of matching the animals to the right owners + a visit to check if property is suitable. The Staff are friendly and helpful. Very happy with our experience so far.

P.Arrived in Nelson from the UK in 1996 and did volunteer work at the SPCA for a short period, during which time we adopted a kitten which had been named Flint due to her colouring (which we kept). Moved to Perth WA in 2000 and took Flint with us. She finally succumbed to old age in 2017. Thank you Nelson SPCA for my beautiful Flint (still greatly missed).

T.Fantastic support when I adopted a kitten. Advice on how to introduce him to my older cat. A well trained, healthy happy kitten. Foster carers did an amazing job.

S.I was visiting New Zealand and was able to see how the SPCA operated with dedicated staff looking after the welfare of animals. The staff seemed to care for the animals with many taking home their work, to feed newly born and dumped kittens.
E.Always choose to adopt, if you can't adopt. Choose to volunteer, if you can't volunteer donate, if you can't donate SPREAD THE WORD!!!

M.Very knowledgeable staff and lovely animals, they always try to match people with the personality of the animals in their care which is awesome and keen to make it work for every animal in their care and find them a forever home.
L.This Op shop offers a great range of second hand goods, clothes and shoes. It can be a bit messy at times, but a real bargain shopper wouldn't be stopped by that. In the back of the shop you can fill a shopping bag with clothes for only 5$. A great place to find nice Swandri clothes in a good condition for a really good price and other warm clothes for the colder season.
During Feijoa and Lemon season the shop often offers free fruit for the customers. With shopping at the SPCA shop you also help supporting the local animal shelter.

m.Parking can be an issue as is getting into the place. Compared to like marlborough which is more interactive seems a little basic.
A.You can find over there more than four paws friends. But a bunch of nice people trying to protect and respecting the rights of all the live beings.
A.Great initiative with excellent housing for the animals, staff are better with the animals than the customers however.
