E.Super helpful and efficient team - despite unexpectedly being low on staff, they did an amazing job of seeing to my needs and fixing my car both quickly and effectively! I did have to remind Reception of the second of my two vehicle issues, as I found the second issue hadn't been passed on to the workshop - but once they knew of it the staff kindly went back to my vehicle to sort the issue before I left, and they gave me a good price deal on the spot. Will definitely come back here for future work, and to deal with a crew who are friendly, helpful and bring quality work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

D.Dan, Carol and the guys at Shore Automative are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, I backed into a power pole and needed a new boot lid for my old Toyota. They searched through out NZ and found one. They also had to replace rear tail light unit and straighten rear bumper and bumper iron plus rear panel. It looks great now! Thank you 😊

I have many work and private vehicles and now only use this company. Excellent communication but more importantly the owner knows what he's doing and is also honest and straight up.

J.I have lost count of the number of years and the number of vehicles I have engaged Shore Automotive to service and repair - from a range of Mercedes down to small Holden Barina 's and everything in between - it must be close to 20 years of consistent, reliable service from Dan and his amazing team of Liam and Shane, who without fail have fixed everything that could possibly go wrong with a vehicle and have done so in a most amazingly professional manner with 100 % success, at affordable and reasonable cost and most importantly in a manner where someone such as myself (with limited mechanical background ) can actually understand just exactly what may be an issue or consideration at time of service.

Not only that but they also help with my mechanical DIY challenges, either lending some tools or removing stuck bolts for me.
L.Booked to have our Aircon regassed. When given back the car we were told A/C doesn't work but because instructions were to re-gas that's all the guy did. Have spent over a year without working A/C. Went to get it fixed just now and was told all it needed was to be regassed. I am furious that we paid shore automotive for this and got nothing.
Update: Shore Automotive had a good response to the feedback and have refunded for the error. I am pleased with the effort in correcting the experience.

J.We always use Shore Automotive for all our vehicle repairs, they are reasonably priced and always do a great job. Recently we needed a fair amount of work done to one of our cars. At the end the price was a fair bit higher then we had discussed, but I was busy and just paid and left. Less then an hour later they phoned me back to say they had made a mistake and over charged me, they immediately refunded the difference. There are lots of examples of the excellent service these guys provide, but this is an example of how honest they are. Cannot recommend them high enough.

R.My car bumper fell off while I was out at an appointment with my preschooler. We walked into Shore Automotive (which was close by) looking for help. They were very accommodating and was able to fit me into their busy schedule. One of the mechanics walked back to the car with us, taped up the bumper and drove the car back to the premises to fix properly. The car was ready within a couple of hours. I really appreciated the excellent customer service.

B.The boot of my car stopped locking and I called around to many other mechanics who didn't want to give me a quote for an assessment, which made me pretty nervous to just go ahead and book it in! Shore Automotive were great. They gave me the cost for a 30-45min assessment so I knew what to expect. Once they found the problem they called me to give me an updated quote see if I would like them to fix the problem before they put everything back together. The cost was very reasonable and came in 10% under quote. All done in a few hours. Great service thanks.

R.Shore Automotive has been servicing my car for several years now. I recently had a WOF and service done and what I really appreciate from them is they always phone me and let me know in advance what needs doing. They tell me what has to be done, what the cost of that will be and what is coming up and will keep that car running optimally, what the costs will be and then give me the option of what I want to go ahead with. As a female not knowing a lot about cars I feel like I can trust them and they are not just doing work I don’t need. On top of that they are always friendly and easy to deal with, I will continue to keep using them and would recommend them to others.

Dan was able to give us options and further time frames to stagger the work required in a priority order.
This was great as we were able to decide easily over the phone rather than the back & forth experiences I have had with other mechanics.

L.Not 100% sure on these guys, hence the three stars.
Took my car for a warrant and service and needed a lot of repairs to get up to warrant standard. I couldn't afford to get everything done in one go, and payment plan wasn't an option, so I got the repairs done at another location.
I then wrongly assumed they would be closed during L3 lockdown and missed the 28day cut-off for the WOF recheck - all good, that's on me, though some form of communication letting customers know that they were open during L3 would have been nice.
I then requested the WOF checklist/paperwork from the initial check for my records, as it hadn't been given to me previously.
First answer I got was there is no paperwork, it hadn't been done as it gets rolled in with the service, and they do the paperwork on the re-check once it has passed. They offered to reprint the invoice from the initial service for me instead. Sounded odd to me (the lack of paperwork) and I'm not really impressed, but not much I can do about that so I leave.
About 20minutes later I have a missed call and a text saying the checksheet has been found and I can come collect it. When I get back I'm given a patchy photocopy of a WOF checklist - they only have their copy of the form, not the customer copy so it's all they can give me.
Overall, I went to these guys based on the online reviews as they seemed very positive, and I can confirm they are friendly and polite to deal with. However my interaction has unfortunately left me feeling less than confident in their service and I don't think I'll return. Not having a complete record of the WOF check (failed or not) just doesn't sit right with me, and the explanations and reasoning felt a bit vague to me, which was off-putting.
O.Hands down the best operators around. I've used Dan and the team for years and the service is outstanding. They're happy to provide advice and I know the work is always done to a high level. Would (and often do) highly recommend Shore Automotive.

s.I don't often feel compelled to write a review but I just want to share my experience for anyone looking for a reliable, pragmatic and trustworthy mechanic. Dan and the team are amazing and have often gone well over and above. They are a pleasure to deal with, provide a great service and are really considerate around finding a cost effective and quality solution. I wholeheartedly would recommend this place and will be a return customer.
N.I chose Shore Automotive based on other reviews I read online. Having never used them before I was very satisfied with the service they provided for my shock replacement. They were also by far the cheapest quote by nearly $200 from other well known shops. Based on this I've decided to use Shore Automotive moving forward for all my vehicle needs. A+ Team!

J.Engine light came on earlier in the week, so wanting to get it sorted I called Shore Automotive to see when they could fit my car in. Was able to get a diagnostic done 1st thing the next day, then take it back in the afternoon to have the repairs done - all despite a busy schedule on their part. No surprise costs, fault and fix details were easy to understand, plus friendly service and great communication - big win all around!
S.Wow! I booked my car in for a replacement regulator & motor for the window on the driver's side. I arranged a courtesy car thinking that they would need a couple of hours, what with their other business, but when I got home (after 15 minutes), I saw a text that said your vehicle is ready to pick up! What! I thought you are kidding! You have sent this text to the wrong client, but no it was true. Shore Automotive had fixed my door and installed a new mechanism! L.I wouldn't say my experience has been as easygoing as the other reviews, but a combination of bad luck and bad days. When I first arrived I had a really good feeling about them, but when I left, I didn't.
First, there were quite a few things out of their control when the wrong part was delivered late, and then a misunderstanding that led to me wasting my time (50 extra km, getting there on a work day) and money ($160 extra) to go out of my way to reach their garage for a service when I could have used a closer, cheaper local one. When I calmly confronted them about it I did not get a great response, similar to when I asked details about what I was charged for.
Secondly I have a lot of respect for Dan for calling me the next day and apologizing for the way he handled the misunderstanding, and offering to remedy it-- that's why I'd give them 4 stars. I think they are probably good people because of all the other reviews, but caught them on a bad day.

A.Great service I'm very happy with they sorted my car c out it's the only mechanics I've been to that I didn't check the bills I think 3 this year totalling about $3000 plus and I felt very comfortable secure about the whole job

S.Shore Automotive are great! Needed to get my brakepads replaced. Many other places I called would not give me an estimate of pricing over the phone or said that I was not able to pay just for my brakepads without getting the disc rotors machined without even looking at them (which is not true). Shore Automotive gave an estimate over the phone, booked me in on the same day, were honest, competitively priced and just lovely to deal with all round. Thank you Shore Automotive!

친철하고 요청한 사항은 다 체크해 줍니다. 하지만 한국처럼 알아서 차상태 확인후 교환해야 할거 알려주고 그렇진 않아요 한국과 뉴질랜드의 문화 차이겠죠. 차 맡겨야 할 경우 근처 왔다갔다 할수 있는 차량 대여 해 줍니다. 거리당 얼마로 대여료 받고 최소 이용 비용이 7불인데 약 10키로 거리인 집까지만 왕복으로 이용 했더니 대여료 7불 나왔어요. 차량 맡겨야 할경우 꽤 유용합니다.
