Awesome job guys was stressing out about my warrant and these guys help me a lot and took that stress away. There has been an issue with one of my headlights for a while now. Last year went to different place for warrant and I keep telling the guys about my headlight telling them it isn’t an issue with the bulb anyways they pretty much judged me because I didn’t look like I knew anything about cars and I’m new to Hamilton so they sort of took advantage of me failing me on my warrant because of my headlight saying it was the bulb when I told them it’s not the bulb it’s the wiring they decided they knew best and that it just needed a new bulb and made me make another appointment to get my warrant done which is a pain when you just need it done in one day as you can’t afford to wait around. Anyways they pass me with a new bulb. Fast forward this year warrant I was stressed going back to them and decided to change company’s and try collins repairs. Best decision I made honestly the best. My warrant fail the first time due to the “light” like I mention I knew it was the wiring and it just had a new bulb last year I told these guys I had this issue last year and 100% sure it’s the wiring. These guys actually listened to me and found that yeah it’s the wiring that’s been melting away. They fixed it that day had my car finish with a passed warrant and everything else that I was concerned about everything was done in a day and I do not have to go back until my next warrant. Thank you guys for helping this southern chick out and actually listening to your customers making sure they are getting the right things done to make sure your car is safe for the road. Any issues and next warrant I will be back to see you guys. Awesome place awesome service highly recommend to anyone and everyone. You guys are awesome!

Very pleased with the work completed by Eddie and the team at Collins Automotive. I have wanted this work done for so long, I thought about doing it myself, glad I didn't because I never would have been able to do this install as good as it was done. I purchased an idrive throttle controller directly from the supplier and was having some trouble getting to the accelerator cable, so I dropped in to Collins automotive. Right from the first interaction they were super friendly, and the young guy Ryan that I dealt with, went over and above. I arrived pretty much as he was knocking off, but he was happy to do the job for me. Great service and very professional. Definitely be back!

Great experience and great deal. Todd comes across as a mechanic who really wants to look after you. He was efficient and knowledgable, and didn't do anything to my car that it didn't need, saving my money. He saved me from spending $600+ with a previous mechanic who didn't know what he was doing. I'm usually only loyal to my wallet but I won't take chances with bad mechanics anymore, I'll stick with Automotive Technicians.

The thing that I appreciate the most is that there was a minor mistake made but they were upfront admitted the mistake and made the repair at their cost and little inconvenience to me. Totally recommend Collins Automotive for anyone needing a WOF. Friendly professional receptionist, fast service team. My vehicle needed both headlights replaced for a WOF. Options were placed to me for new or 2nd hand replacement of headlights, the new headlights couldn’t be delivered until next business day, Collins Automotive fitted 2nd hand headlights for my road safety to get myself home until the new headlights arrived the next business day. If anyone requires a trustworthy, professional mechanical service, Collins Automotive are the go to team.

What a amazing company, brilliant staff and excellent service. I’ve travel down from Auckland for more than 5 years to get my vehicles specialist needs tended to and I would travel much further. I’ve just had them do some wiring and system up grades on our new Caravan and would have to say you would honestly think that they were all there from the factory as they have gone the extra mile by running all the cables etc etc though existing ducting and cable cavities and placed the controls and fittings where we wanted even though I’m sure caused a number of bad word moments.If you need any automotive work done and not totally happy with your current provider, give Collins Automotive a go, THEY TREAT YOU LIKE YOU MATTER . Wof on car. Was quick with no Hassell. Also purchased oil for car. They guy was really helpful and pleasant. Only this was when I went second time too find the shop closed due to a staff meeting every Wednesday yet was advertised that was open. Can't get head around that as a business. All and all good experience.

Worked relentlessly to diagnose the electrical fault among a few other minor things with my 2000 daewoo lanos (korean car) that multiple other services id tried prior had come up empty on an answer to what it was and why. It seems almost every automotive electrician in hamilton were unable to diagnose the unique problem with my Korean shitbox. However the team took on the challenge and spent a few days doing an intensive search to locate and isolate the issue. Soon enough they were able to give me a run down of what it was and how they were going to fix it. By the end of the week my car had been completely sorted, and was ready to go. These guys did a fantastic job, and for a very reasonable price for the lengths they went to, to fix it. In the end they saved me over $1000 going through my last resort route of steering wheel replacement and a cert to get it woffed. Will be going back for future work on the daewoo if the time arises.

Had a problem with reception on a new radio Collins installed in my van. It took several return trips to the workshop before they solved the problem, but they stuck with it and put a considerable amount of uncharged time into it until I was satisfied.. Turned out the fault wasn't their workmanship but something quirky in the electrics in the van. Top marks guys.

I really appreciate the teams assistance with my vehicle. The team picked up my car, took it back to their shop, prepared it for WOF, addressed all issues for me to fly up and drive it back down south. I don't think I could have got this kind of service at such a competitive price let alone from such a great team of professionals. Since my car has an issue of no cranking sounds only with a flashing immobilized indicator and a flashing keyless indicator, the car was towed away to this shop. They got my car on Thursday and I've got a call next morning on Friday, they need further time to figure out the possible root causes. I decided to wait for till next Tuesday as Monday was a public holiday. On Tuesday, I was explained a battery looks highly likely the root cause of this issue with an invoice reaching just below $800. They changed into a new battery with higher CCA than recommended for my vehicle model. Jase, who is a electrical part foreman, showed a level of professionalism in terms of the way of approaching this issue, but I was not 100% sure that I paid the value I am supposed to pay for as I don't get the real and exact root causes but only I was forced to be satisfied with a fixed car moving with a new and higher CCA battery...

Good tidy shop which generally indicates a high workmanship standard, dealt with my problem in a timely manner and the technician personally described the fault and repair which I thought was a nice touch as a lot of these larger shops don't do it, just adds a personal touch to the service. $63.25 for a diagnostic scan and reset was cheaper than most places so I was happy with the pricing, I will go back again when I need automotive work done and am happy to recommend their service.

Had the daunting task of trying to find a battery suitable for my 4X4 ute with a 11000lb winch that would fit in the factory battery box area. (Had been unsuccessful at two other stores previously) The two gentlemen behind the counter were very knowledgable and helpful, particularly Ryan. He went above and beyond explained the differences and understood that I required a big battery that would have big current draws from time to time. I appreciate the honesty and professionalism that the team at Collins offer. I had an issue with the Aircon in my car not cooling. The initial inspection they assumed it was just low on gas and topped up. This was a temporary fix as it stopped cooling a few months after. They offered to relook at system and went over with a fine tooth comb using all modern techniques -Dye, N2/H2 gas and sniffer tools etc and reactive agents with out finding a leak sadly. They have promised to continue the testing and checking in a few weeks once driven around for a bit. Air con is blowing very cold now and lets hope that the problem does not come back. Recommend to all - They had good communication always and always friendly.
