D.This place is AMAZING. Meinolf was so friendly and helpful when we had questions. The sourdough bread is perfect and they have traditional German pretzels that were still warm when served! We also had a danish pastry that was very delicious. I think everything from here probably tastes incredible. I’ve never been so happy to have visited a bakery! I will be returning here as often as possible!
Y.My Favourite bakery! Love the pretzels, I buy at least 9 for each time I visit. The owner always welcomed. Should come earlier otherwise the most would be gone.

S.This German bakery is a hidden gem! Don't be put off by the parking or the unassuming shop front. The inside has recently been renovated by the new owners and they make everything from scratch, specialising in authentic German artisan baking. Growing up in Germany, I can assure you this is the real deal. 😊

G.Absolute gem! The carrot bread is fantastic, the Bretzel rolls are perfect also for freezing and rebaking. The Cheesecake and pigs ears so tasty The people are super friendly. Yes the parking is a little of a challenge BUT it is soooo worth it.

E.The pricing for the quality of the product is very fair and no different to what I've paid for other specialty baked goods. I've tried things from here in the past that others have bought for me and went today myself and got the pan au raisin and it was excellent, the customer service was also excellent when I asked what the different pastries on offer were. I could not recommend this place more.

R.The bread made here is exceptional. We buy their rye sourdough and there isn't anything else we have found in Auckland even close to their quality. The master baker is a true artisan and a through gentlemen.
T.Absolutely fantastic. I'm fortunate enough to work near by so I gladly walk over to buy some lunch when I have the chance. I'm still working my way through all the options but some favourites so far are the sauerkraut rose, sausage roll, and cheesestick.
You won't be disappointed! You get what you pay for, and it's worth it.
S.Diehl's is an authentic German bakery with a delicious selection of bread and pastries. I've been getting my bread at Diehls for years - if I could give them 5+ stars I would. The staff are also extremely helpful and hospitable.
M.This place is awesome. It is a little bit hidden away in an industrial estate and doesn’t have the best parking, but don’t let that put you off. The bread is some of the best you’ll find in Auckland. Great Pretzels and a good range of delicious sweet treats too. Highly recommended!

This is quality bread baking of the first order. This is the best place in Auckland for German rye bread in the pumpernickel style. Their country sour dough is genuine and it's extra tasty. I've been coming to Diehl's since it opened. Totally recommended.
L.People here are so friendly and kind. I ordered a beesting cake to take to a German friend 6 hours drive away. They had it ready on time, had kept it extra chilled and wrapped it in paper in preparation for its journey. They also lent me the aluminium plate it was on to keep it stable. It survived the drive and my friend cried when I gave it to her because of how much it reminded her of home. Obviously it also tasted fantastic!

R.Best german Baker in Auckland. Good variety of bread, buns, and sweet things. I love the Vanillekipferl. And the Cheesecake is unsurpassed, its a dream. The location is perfect. Hidden in a recessed place, so not everybody can find it. A secret place for lovers of great food.
R.I love the plum cake it has a nice tartness, and the cheescake is also great. The onion bread has a nice chewy exterior and is beautifully soft in the middle.
L.Good variety of authentic german baked goods, not the mass produced gunk sold in most NZ bakeries. The Quark Schnecken and Berliner's are particularly good. Not 5 stars though due to the long wait (there's a queue out the door on Saturday mornings), the bread rolls aren't that good, and it's a bit pricey.
M.Update: (ingo no longer owns shop) Bread and pastries here are awesome. Gluten free products,owners are friendly cool guys. Staff are always smiling as well. Our German gourmet butchery sources it's bread from this shop for years now.
B.Everything looked delicious. I'd been here once before and hadn't made it back in about 10 years. This time we just got a pretzel for old times sake but I could easily have bought one of everything. Definitely will be heading back next time I need some top quality bread.

Z.A small bakery tucked away in commercial part of Glenfield but well know by most of European immigrants and locals. It features large variety of breads and other baked goods including cakes. If you are luck enough to get there when pretzels just got out of the owen it is impossible to resist buying some "for the road". Most of the times I'm goin there for pretzels bit I alwsys come out with more than I planned. If you lake cakes there is decent choice and those are not usual kiwi bakery cakrs. They are great and not too sweet.
