V.My coffee tastes burnt, fresh cream doughnut was way too sweet! The wagyu beef with red curry pie was good but disappointed with the gourmet deluxe steak and cheese pie, which had too much gravy.
M.Hands down the best pies (vegan or otherwise) that I've had in New Zealand. The shells are flaky and fillings are so incredibly moist. Very happy for the wide selection of vegan pie options available.
C.The food is generally quite nice, however twice now I’ve been given the wrong pie. The first time was a delivery order during lockdown, so I understood a mistake could be made. But this time it was in person. I asked for a smoked fish pie, and when I got home I found it was a steak pie… lucky I don’t have any particular dietary needs…
S.Thankfully my chiropractor is based in Ellerslie, which means I have an excuse to go to Richoux Patisserie afterwards... I have tried every Cafe on the Ellerslie strip and now only go to Richoux. Why? Because the food is incredible across a wide range of items.(Yes their pies are to die for, but so is their ginger crunch). Staff are so friendly. Coffee great. Next step would be to buy the shop next door and put in more tables!
B.Broth brought some pies back home. I tried the duck pie and the pork belly one. The duck pie was quite nice. Nice flavours and huge bits of duck inside. The pork one was a bit different, peppery and slilghtly sweet. Both were quite tasty and decently sized.

L.Today come to try award winning pie of this year. Wagyu beef curry is very delicious worth drinking all the way here. Sit and eat in the shop its constant queues during lunch time . Not even 1:30 in the afternoon the other winning Pie Steak and Cheese is solid out. Tried one dessert is just ok. Will come back again to taste the steak pie . Thanks for the lovely pie !
f.This place has a great selection of yummy vegan pies - about 7 different varieties. Plus loads of vegan sweet options too. Finally, a bakery I can go to with plenty of options for me. Keep up the good work. Oh, also, the guy who served me was so nice!

J.Good pastry but not liking how they treat coffee. Even when asked if milk can be warm and not hot, it was still on the brink of burnt. Happens every time. The lady has put the steaming wand in the jug, then left it there until milk literally burst out of the jug. As a coffee enthusiast I get sad seeing things like this, so just sharing this to warn other coffee lovers.

S.Dam - the pies are good. Fillings are delicious and the pastry the pies are cooked in is really really good. They've obviously given it some thought and come up with with a unique recipe. Had a jam doughnut too. Haven't had a doughnut as good as that for a long while. Again, a very good pastry. Yum 😋
P.We came from Hamilton to try this place out. And WOW they did not disappoint. The Vegan steak and cheese actually reminded me of lasagne toppers i used to have as a kid and the vegan butter chicken pie was even better than the non vegan.
The vegan custard was oh my God!!! To die for yummy when you have not had custard in a while. And the vegan apple and passionfruit pie had us fighting hahaha.
The decision now is do we get some for home or do we make it an event to come up just for a fix hmmmm....
B.This is a nice French inspired patisserie. Yum sweet delights to choose from here and they have won a stack of awards. The fair trade coffee and milk is organic too.
S.The pies are tasty and good for the price. One of the best pies I've ever had in Auckland. Staff members are friendly and welcoming. Prices are good for the standards. Overall ambience and seating arrangements could improve.
C.The vegan pies are to die for!! I got a vegan mince and cheese pie, there was such a decent amount of cheese and it tasted so good. The pastry was the delicious. I also got their custard filled donuts, best donut I've ever had! Not greasy at all, couldn't fault it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and I will definitely be back.

C.One of the best bakeries in Auckland!! If you're looking for a pie, check them out. They have recently expanded their range to include a variety of vegan pies and sweets. Minimal seating available, but they do have some outdoor tables.
P.The place is buzzing, even though lots of people have left Auckland for Christmas. They have more varieties of vegan pies than they have space to display them, and all of those I've tried have been yummy. They've really jumped on board with plant-based goodies that people who sometimes eat meat will nevertheless love.
There are gorgeous sweet things, too, and the staff are really friendly. Not everything is vegan, and I'm sure that stuff must be good, too.
The doorway is a bit narrow, but should be okay for most wheelchairs, I think, and there is outside seating on the pavement in case the inside is cramped when you visit. Again, the staff are really friendly and I'm sure they would do everything they can to ensure access for their customers.
I don't work for them; I just like them!
S.Consistently excellent food. Usually Not a massive fan of vegan pies but these ones really give real meat pies a run for their money, incredible. Even at the end of a day when it’s not as fresh, everything I’ve tried is still amazing. Great service too, everything you’d ever want from a bakery.
q.I can not describe how delicious they are, especially the steak and mushroom pie. It is full of flavor, when I bite it, the soft steak and the creamy source pour into my mouth, It’s sososo yummy, I cannot stop even though I finished my lunch yet. Also the blueberry muffin, it’s so fluffy. Will come again.
M.Fantastic new discovery for me!, popped in for the first time yesterday after my daughter told me about this great vegan friendly bakery. I was over the moon to see the lovely selection of plant based fare from pies to donuts, I chose the vegan chicken and mushroom pie and jam donut and they were both so yummy, it's no wonder why this lovely bakery has won so many awards. The staff are so lovely too, the lady who tended to me was so friendly. Richoux has now become my fave, looking forward to my next visit.
A.Had a delicious vegan steak, jalapeño and cheese pie. It was really delicious. Better than the meat alternative, in my opinion. My wife also loved the vegan custard doughnut she got. She couldn't spot any difference to the dairy alternative.
D.So good I'm going through the effort of reviewing it. Best pie I've had in recent times. I had the chicken cranberry and its nice to see vegan options for my partner too, which they seemed to enjoy thoroughly

A.Just ate their Vegan Steak Cheese Jalapeno pie for lunch. By far, one of the best pies I've had so far...just the right amount of flaky crust and the filling was brilliant. I'm not a vegan, but am going to try all of Richoux's vegan offerings I can. Totally worth the 10 minute walk from work.

M.I'd heard a lot about this bakery but never managed to get to it.... until today.... 30mins ago. On my way home I stopped in to grab a few things to give them the good ol' taste test. 30mins, 4 bites into a few vegan pies and a vegan custard donut....... I AM SOLD! BEST VEGAN BAKERY OPTION OUT THERE!!!!! Will definitely be going back to try some vegan sandwiches!!!
C.For the last two days we bought pies for our family dinner. We enjoyed 4 pies daily with red wine. Excellent quality and this is the only pie not giving me heartburn. It says a lot about the great quality of the mince meat. Thank you to the team making these excellent pies, keep doing the great work you are doing and you won a repeat customer.
K.Good bakery, smells of old new york bakeries with classic goodies and sandwiches. Has some GF options but never seems to have their daily GF Friond muffins which are suuper delicious. Disappointed cause ive come here from West Auckland on 3 separate occasions just for that Friond muffin/thing.
Н.Would say 3.5, but there's no such thing in Google rating so let it be 4. Didn't quite get why the place claims to be French? There's literally nothing from French baking there, not even plain croissants. Was attracted by the French name so was somewhat disappointed 😞 My apple strudel was cold as, another minus. However, my hubby was quite happy with his pie, and the coffees were good.

M.The queue is worth standing in, the drive is worth it wherever you are. Bring some money though, the carrot cake is great. Apple pie interstellar. Leave the coffee, grab that somewhere else.
Y.Got a blueberry tart for dessert, and it was a bit disappointing. Custard inside was blend, and so was the tart shell. $3.20 the price was in an average range for a small tart. My friend got mince pie and he was unhappy with his pie. Can't stop thinking this breads are a bit overrated.

A bit late to the vegan pie party, but I’m glad I’m on board. Will try other vegan flavours later or perhaps frozen vegan ones to take home.
The mud chocolate cake was also good, not too sweet and very moist.

T.Used to come here a lot, when I was living here about 3~4 years ago. Some of their pies are still the best among all the ones I've tried. A few months ago, when talking about the delicious pies with a patient and I tried very hard and finally found it on Google map, however the session was finished. Today, the patient comes again and we bring up the topic again. Easily, I find it again on the Google map and just leave a comment by the way. Thanks for all the good pies you've made all the years.
V.Not the cheapest, but by far some of the best pies out there and some of the flavours while not the usual are stunning. Make the stop if you are in the area, I doubt you will be disappointed

A.This is a great pie shop/bakery - provided you get a fresh pie. There are lots of pies to choose from (classic, vegan and more fancy options) and dessert as well. Service is also friendly. However, recently I have had to update my review because some of their pies are not fresh depending on what time of the day you go. This has happened to us on many occasions as well. They have also changed the texture of their apple ruharb crumble (it's less crumbly now and a lot more softer - almost like its underbaked) but at least the flavour is still there.

I was disappointed with the pear tart, couldn't finish it. It was very bland, couldn't taste the pear and it wasnt fresh, it had a fridge taste to it.

E.I was late to the vegan party. No one invited me. Not the first time, but once I got over that, I had a great time eating a beautiful pie. Green curry is the best, fight me on it. Massive pies for the price, in comparison to Tart. And a trip to Ellerslie village is always a nice change of scenery.

Had a seat on some uneven small tables outside because there wasnt any room inside, but that's really to their discredit as it's a small shop.
