A God send, didnt feel well felt really tired. Pulled into Sam's got food and coffee to go. Found a pull in, ate and slept then carried on my journey refreshed. Totally in the right place, state highway 1, plenty of parking, good selection of finger food, pleasant staff. The prices are good too, Keep up the good work.

This is one of our favourite cafes and we always stop for a cuppa and sometimes a meal. They have a great food selection and customer service is excellent. Located on the main road it's easy to drive in/out with easy parking.

Too be honest, this place must be doing something right. This building has been home of many eating establishments over the years, Sams has been here by far the longest since I have lived in the Horowhenua. It has comfortable booths aswell as tables for larger groups. It caters for the locals, regulars and weary travelers popping in for a rest and refreshments. Our food and coffees were very hot (something I appreciated today), and the service was friendly. The food was fresh, but not exceptional. The place has an 'A' rating and tables, floors and service area looked clean; the windowsills and doors were not as clean. All and all a quite place, with hot food and comfortable booths to stop to rest while travelling through.

The coffee was good. Plenty of food, lots of different fillings in sandwichrs lots of cakes, lots of cream, good selection of fried food. The local tradies were buying their lunch... (good sign) alas for me no wholmeal or grain sandwiches and no gluten free food. Would recomend for anyone passing.

Solid bakery experience, service seems pretty into it. Coffee was actually nice. Flies seemed to be a bit of bother here, the men's bathroom was full of them and smelled. The food was actually really good, quite tasty considering. If it wasn't for the flies I'd rate it.

Tried 7 Different Chicken Burgers for lunch over a 7 day period to see who I thought had the best Chicken Burger going in Foxton both for value and quality. This Burger was #5/7. Very bland tasting Burger. Chicken Fillet was cooked average a little dry. The Burger bun was over toasted which didn't help as the Fillet was slightly over cooked. The sauce was nice but it was never saving this burger from being dry. Is this Burger worth its money=NO.

Five stars for the pie I had. No really, it was excellent. Real chunks of meat, perfect rich, flavorful gravy and lovely pastry. Otherwise the outside toilets transport you straight back to the 1950s. Despondent staff hide on a low stool behind the cake cabinet, head in hands waiting for the tourment of a life flogging (excellent) pies to interlopers in thier small town existence to come to an end for another day. A formica tabled distopia...with a magnificent crust.
