R.I popped in for some breakfast this morning and can say for certain that this place has now become my favourite bakery. Delicious food, tasty treats and great coffee. I enjoyed my quiche, donut and coffee this morning. Thanks again! Will definitely be back :)
M.Absolutely adore coming here for lunch breaks at work! The selection of yummy treats is to die for. Just one concern, none of the customer facing staff ever wear masks. I've come in consecutively the past couple days and no masks to be seen (there was one lady I saw wearing one earlier this week only)? In Orange it is mandatory, unless of course the girls at the till are exempt for a reason. Just would like some clarity as to why that is? xx

both orders arrived boxed for protection and in perfect condition. Both were of excellent quality. Best croissants I have had in the last 12 years here in Welly. will be buying again.

K.Got a steak and mushroom pie $8 didnt really find many mushrooms but did find some bacon. Not worth the price unfortunately but will be back to try something else as it all looks so good. Excellent service.

H.The Chubby Baker is a fantastic bakery. Their bread in particular is excellent quality as are the scones and cream doughnuts. My family are now going tthere several times a week. The staff are friendly and give a welcoming service. An exceptional bakery.
R.I am surprised at some of the other reviews here. Food is amazing and prices are really reasonable.
My vegetarian friends love the pies!! Also, the Chubby Baker is just the nicest guy, I couldn't imagine him giving bad customer service ever!!
Z.Went in for the sweet pastry. The fruit tart is awsome, not too sweet and just the right size for a late morning coffee break.
The almond croissant is very good, however, I personally like my croissants a bit less crunchy and a bit more fluffy (more butter in the dough perhaps?).
Definitely going back for more pretty soon.

D.Steve makes the best custard squares and hot cross buns I have ever tasted. A stop at his shop is compulsory whenever I'm going to the Hutt Valley.
