C.We stumbled upon this gem on our way to Omokoroa and we absolutely loved it! The cabinet food were very tasty, the Caesar salad was excellent, the coffee was great too! Most of all, their all inclusive non-discriminating attitude was the best in town. Make sure you stop by and support this local business run by these beautiful people! Xx
L.Had the absolute pleasure of stopping in here on our way from Mt Maunganui to Auckland. Beautiful large selection of cabinet food and some great menu items, especially enjoyed the mexe beef crepe and the iced coffee was great as well. Wonderful, inclusive friendly people, what more could anyone want. Stark contrast to the rest of the places in town!!!
B.Closing at 2pm we arrived about 1.15 to customers sitting with stacked chairs and tables all sround them. Obviously keen to go home so not very welcoming for customers passing through town. Took our own menus from shelf to sit outside and waited for a staff member to set a table up. Gave up and did it ourselves. Awkward looks from staff. Food was good. So would not come here again after 12pm. Left at 1.45 to empty store.
B.Off the main street, far end of a side street but still popular, which is a good sign. Five outdoor tables, complete with red blankets for the Waikato chill. Adjacent to a small leafy park which gives it a relaxed atmosphere. Lots of glass, on the three sides, it is at the apex of two intersecting streets. Only been here twice so far but the coffee has been good both times. Strong with good viscosity ( relative to what coffee should be) and satisfying mouth feel. Last trip I had the ginger slice, rich and satisfying. The staff are polite, efficient and invisible, just as they should be.
T.Hubby loved the bacon & egg butty. I had the French Toast, delish. Good coffee too

m.Opens at 5am making it a great stop for a coffee or something to eat. Great variety of pastries and food. Coffee is good too.

K.Nice little cafe in Matamata. We are impressed by the service of the staff. You could order hot, to be made meals, all day breakfast options, or order from the display cabinet. Pretty good coffee too. The kitchen does close at 2.30pm so do need to come earlier if you desire hot cooked meals. We will definitely be back when we go pass Matamata in future.

P.Best flat white I've had in ages! Delicious omelette and crepes. Salad/slaw alongside crepe could have been slightly fresher then would have given 5 stars for sure!
A.It was busy on Sunday morning, but service was friendly and fairly efficient. (Maybe a tad inexperienced) Coffee was good and the food options plentiful! We loved the kids ham and cheese pancake, the savory scone and the paleo bar! Would love to come back to try their eggs Benedict (they looked amazing!)
N.Stopped here for brunch on our way to Auckland. Service was a bit slow and we had to wait a while at the counter to have our order taken, but the food was generously portioned and quite nice. Good little corner location with a lot of outdoor seating - this is on the footpath, but is quite a way from the main road, and not a lot of foot traffic walking through. There didn't appear to be any bathrooms at the cafe, but the public toilets are right across the road and are usually very clean.
C.Best of coffee in Matamata! Del cooks up a storm early am to provide us with delicious treats for breakfast, we had a lovely cooked breakfast and would happily recommend to others.
P.Great food, the steak sandwich is great, especially with an added egg. Prices are reasonable, they are very busy, but they do well.

B.Good tasty food, loved the homemade toast with the meal though could have done with more than one slice with our meals. The creamy mushrooms were very nice with a twist. Nice clean tables and good indoor or outdoor options.
K.My partner and I came in and got the big breakfast, he had poached eggs and I had scrambled. Everyting was delicious, especially the mushrooms and he loved that his eggs were still runny. Will definitely be back.
C.Had lunch at this Cafe in Matamata, I the towns a good spot to take a break on a long car drive. Had their big breakfast which was very nice, particularly enjoyed the mushrooms in this meal and the bread was also good. Cafe is on corner and had tables inside and out, as it was a nice day we sat outside. Service was very good and the owner/chef chatted and asked about our meals. Worth a visit if your passing by.
S.We got greeted and seated. Then we got taken around to show how to order and what each kitchen has to offer. Service was exceptional. Each time we got up to get a new dish the table was cleared. I am dying to go back. I had yummy seafood, a plate of delicious Indian cuisine plus sushi, cheeses and delicious salad. The desserts were great including the best creme brulee.
P.Funky dog friendly cafe which REALLY knows how to make a good coffee. Baking's pretty good too.
D.The food was pretty good, we had three meals between us and they tasted great. Two of us had open sandwiches, both tasted amazing our only comment was that there was a bit too much sauce which made the bread soggy.
The coffee was a meh which was disappointing, not too sure on what it was but two sugars (which I don't usually use) had to be added to rescue it.
Ultimately there was a lot of potential, the food was pretty good but not amazing, service was good, the coffee left a lot to be desired.
B.Visited today
Had savoury mince.One with crepe and one with bread. Excellent. Third person had ham and cheese crepe and said was excellent too. Good friendly service..would definitely return if passing by again.
M.My favourite cafe in Matamata. Open from 5am for brekkie so you will never be there too early! The staff are the definition of caring about the product they sell. Each meal is hand crafted and always delicious. And their cabinet is chocka full of a wide variety of yummy goodies. Highly recommend.

A.I read about this place in The Hobbit a scenic view handbook from the movies. It's where Peter Jackson and the cast and crew would go for breakfast or coffees in the morning! Lovely atmosphere right on the corner opposite park, i-stop and shopping street. Cheap home made food.
P.I have been on school camp nearby so was looking for a cafe to pop in for a quick coffee. Derek and co at O-del-emz do a fabulous job. The Allpress coffee is very well done and on the second morning (yes I came back!) I had a terrific, fresh and delicious omelette; I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone living or passing through Matamata and will likely be back each day until camp ends!
A.The best coffee of Matamata ! The staff is great and owner really lovely ! As a french i can say that the food is really great and you can taste the french touch ;-). It's spacious and the service is good even on busy hours. Just go and have a look ! Try the Apple & Fidjoa smoothie or the french toast, you'll love it !

P.I went every morning for five mornings I was staying near Matamata; this is a very friendly place with good home-made food and great coffee.
