a.One of the best bakery I have been to!
Was driving from northland to Auckland when we did a quick stop here for a brekkie bite.
Me and Mrs ordered cinnamon doughnut, veg quiche, cordon Bleu and ham & egg sandwich all of which together only costed us less than 20$.
The amazing bit was neither of us felt bloated or heavy. The quality of food was really good, full of flavour and freshly made.
Definite stop on future northland trips.

v.This cafe is always open and friendly helpful staff especially during covid times. For the woman that wasn't allowed in to get a loaf of bread the cafe was only doing what this government has instructed them to do or face a huge fine. Please judge them on their food not your demands during a lockdown.
J.I tried the mince and cheese pie and a doughnut which were both very nice. The staff were friendly, and there is ample space to sit and eat in the bakery, which is a nice touch. The one improvement that I would make jsnfor a better selection of beverages - specifically those lower in sugar.

M.Always busy. Award winning pies. Everything I have had here tastes great. The last time I went was during level 3 lockdown, and they mixed up my order. I was down the road by then, so didn't return it.

C.Great value for money. My partner says it's the best coffee in the area. They also give you a free scone or muffin with every coffee. The sausage rolls are really good and also the Vogel sandwiches for when you want to be a bit healthier.. 😊

Anytime we go there for lunch or just a coffee, the staff spray and clean down the tables after the last patron leaves.
While this may be the law because of covid, it could be easy to forget to do this, but we have never seen this not carried out.
It makes you feel safe knowing that the staff and management are looking after their customers.

Still the best coffee in town, and it is always hot, de-caf if you need it as well.
Plus their steak and kidney pies can't be beaten anywhere, and you don't have to hunt for the meat inside to pie.
Covid, has to be hurting all of these excellent family businesses.

Sausage rolls to die for. They will make grain sandwiches for you if you don't want white bread. I don't think that you can get better food or coffee anywhere else locally.

A.You cant beat their sausage rolls, everything else is consistent and high standard. Very clean, no toilets on site, main street location. Ample indoor outdoor seating. Wheelchair ramp a permanent option.
E.Great for a quick bite. Reasonably priced.
A.Go To place for breakfast. Family run operation. Good selection of hot/cold food and drinks. Coffee comes with a free Scone /Muffin which are not made on site and are awful. Otherwise it's a great Bakery. Inside/outside dining.

Shout out to the freshest, softest lamingtons I've had in a bakery in NZ! So tasty I basically inhaled it.
Pies were tasty and as a group we tried a few - potato top was nicely spiced with herby mashed potato and peppery mince.
Pepper steak and mince and cheese were both deemed great.
Sausage roll was delicious, juicy sausage with onion.
My steak and cheese was mostly gravy but nice flavour (pretty normal by kiwi bakery standards)
The cheese pies are very generous with cheese (it was dripping out).
Additionally we tried some other sweet things aside from lamingtons - afghans are giant but not special as they didn't really have the right kind of icing and the cookie wasn't that dense and chocolatey as hoped.
Mini apricot pie was reasonable - very thick pastry and probably will taste better heated up.
I really like this place :)
M.These guys are the best! Always fresh sandwiches & pies, can't get any better. We prefer to drive into Warkworth than go to a bakery in Matakana. To top off the great food they are all so friendly and accommodating.
C.This Bakery has the best cakes.sausage rolls.my favourite is the Apple Slice made fresh each day followed by a Custard desert they have seating also. ALL Yum not that expensive
J.My morning stop on way to work! Wide variety of fresh, tasty baked, fried, goods, with a wide choice of sandwiches and rolls! Opens early, so popular with local workers, and people heading out fishing!

J.Best steak and cheese pie in New Zealand. Nobody does a pie crust like the Warkworth Bake House. Buttery and flaky and not too heavy. And actual nice chunks of steak. They also make a mean coffee, and every coffee comes with a free muffin or scone.
