no faults here came to this bakery as I wait for my embassy appointment spacious place very factory like as they are very busy crazy how busy this place gets but very manageable a lot of choices just a personal preference that the tarts are a bit too sweet and the tart shells didn't tasted very fresh nonetheless we enjoyed our food and drinks here clean place and friendly service

The service staff here are awesome, and the coffee is great but if you're looking for a patisserie/French baking go down the road to le marche francais, I hate to think people think this is what a croissant, canele, macaron or merveilleux taste like (they are fluffy and delicate, not crunchy, overcooked and sugary). Normally I don't mind when nz bakeries don't get it right but they don't usually don't sell at these high "authentic" prices. I've given this place so many tries but would not come here by choice any more when there's cheaper or better.

Authentic French bakery and cafe, except maybe the decor lol. Sandwiches and Baguettes are pre-made fresh daily, but get in early for lunch to make sure you get what you want cause they sell out quick and that's for a reason. Friendly staff. Soup came with fresh baked bread and real butter, perfect combo. It can get quite busy, but be patient it's worth it.

Bordeaux. Good bakery overall. Good variety of patisserie goodies to get. Some of them unique. Very tasty what I got so far. That's where the good things to say about this bakery stop. The bad: Even on a not so busy day it's challenge to get noticed by the staff unless you're in front of the till. The coffee preparation area is in the way of the customers tables. The portions of the cakes are small. The bakery lacking identity or ambience if you prefer. The drink options other than coffee is reduced to an out of place fridge. Toilets are tiny. Labeling of bread and sandwiches can be confusing but last and not least the PRICES are insanely high. $40 for sandwich coffee and cake is not impossible.

Yes I know it's just a smidgen out of the CBD, but well worth the effort. Coffee is superb - smooth, tasty, and hot in a generous cup. An absolute mountain of tasty cooked scramblies on two large toasted rounds of Brioche - a major triumph! Great service, friendly, and excellent value make this place a top contender in my book so far!

So full of people. Great menu though - for dishes like big breakfast it's (dare I say it) too big. I'm a massive fan of it's burgers, and my partner is a fan of the soup. It's clear the chef takes great pride in the quality of their bakery products. Very high quality fine baked dishes and desserts. This is a nice place if you want up impress your girlfriend with a relaxed brunch.

Cakes are fabulous, and really are French. My only gripe is every time I've been in I've been standing at the till for a few minutes before someone comes to serve me. But for cakes, and savory, it's a pretty good choice. They also have a small area outside which is pretty chill

The coffee is really good. Plenty of tables and quick service. The patisserie products and some foods have changed with limited variety now. They seem to be quantity focused now with monster danishes and large toasted cheese /bready slabs. Changes seem like those connected to a change in ownership. A bit disappointing.

Been to BORDEAUX BAKERY and BRASSIERE twice now and there is plenty of variety to choose from. The staff are very friendly and on there game, certainly, l don't think anyone can complain about the staff, Excellent. Plenty of room to sit, as there is a upstairs as well as the ground floor. Plenty of parking places outside, that's no problem. My only gripe would be is the prices, but, hey l suppose at the end of the day you pay the price for what you get, that goes for any where. But please go and try BORDEAUX BAKERY and BRASSIERE in WELLINGTON. Thankyou Louise.

Amazing place, had my friend who is in a wheelchair. Got access around the side of building. Food is delicious, the staff were very helpful. Plenty of space for the wheelchair and a toilet. Will be going again soon.

Don't go hungry, everything smells and looks soooo tempting. But bring your full wallet, too, it does not come cheap. We were there on a busy morning and unfortunately the staff was unable to keep up with clearing tables, so that we were sitting side by side with our predecessors' leftovers and dishes for the whole 45mins of our stay and had to wipe the table ourselves before hand with a serviette. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

2019 WOW I love this place. What an awesome team of people. They always have a smile on their faces. The recent uniforms look great as does the whole new layout of the shop. Coffees are great. Our staff also frequent Bordeaux. Keep on doing what you are doing :) Thanks you for fabulous service. 2015 When we moved our office from Murphy Street to Thorndon Quay, we hoped that Bordeaux was as good as our café on Murphy Street. While we miss our old café, Bordeaux fantastic, it is close to our office so I am there most days. We also hold all our business meetings there. I have always had great service. Erickson and Ryan are awesome coffee makers and Monique and the other ladies (who serve me) are wonderful (sorry ladies, but I cant remember all of your names). They are friendly and always greet me with a big smile. I would suggest that if anyone has issues, at a café, don't post it on social media. Talk to them as that way they can put it right. My policy is that if you have an issue, then phone them. How can they fix things if they don't know who you are. Just having my say as it happened at my old café too.

Mixed review- got a nice box of petite fours to take away but the food and coffee I had there were disappointing and not what they appeared to be. Minimal avocado on an avocado toast hiding under melted cheese Almost none. Decaf long black wasn't decaf but I'd drunk a third before I found out.

As a child, Bordeaux was the trendy authentic french cafe/bakery in town, but over the years, it has lost its glamour. It now feels more on the verge of a gloomy 'Mr Bun'-esque kind of vibe. I don't know whether it is the presentation of the sweet treats or the treats themselves being lack luster, but i feel the place could do with a livening up. The staff are lovely.

There are a number of bakeries, patisserie and food places of charm in Wellington, but Bordeaux Bakery has been running for years, is iconic, and imho the gold standard against which I measure all other bakeries in the region. Whether it's a hot and fresh crossoint, a sausette, a vegetarian dish or a delicious eggs benedict this is my favourite place ever to start the weekend with an early morning breakfast and read of the paper. They have a great range of French treats, make wonderful birthday and special occasion cakes that are beautifully decorated in simple European style and always a big hit with family and friends, are children friendly, have an upstairs seating area as well which makes for a great place for a quick business meeting with the larger style tables - all in all one of my favourite places to go in Wellington for tasty and high quality bakery treats for the family, early morning starts to the weekend and quick business mtgs.
