Reviews of Grace Patisserie
L.
The high tea here is absolutely amazing! Incredible food, amazing selection of drinks, and the service was so good, very thoughtful and attentive! I can't wait to come back here, so many menu items and drinks I'm excited to try. Please support this business!
R.
I ordered a cake from Grace Patisserie and had a great experience. It was straightforward to choose the flavour, decoration, and colours, and the final result was much admired at afternoon tea. Most importantly, the cake tasted delicious! I would recommend Grace for cakes for a special occasion. Their prices reflect the great quality of their products.
J.
Best cafe / patisserie I've been to. Absolutely exquisite pastries , they were works of art, so many delicious flavours to choose from. And they didn't just look good , they tasted divine! Definitely worth the price. Had a lovely soda also.
L.
My first visit to this beautifully styled Cafe with pastel tones and peaceful environment, I must say I was very impressed . The food looked amazing, little pieces of art in the display case. We had the croissant which was divine, a soft paste inside with a crunchy flake outer, best I have had for awhile. Service was spot on, friendly but very professional. I will be going back as I want to try the high tea which looks amazing.
A.
Good and bad. I loved the macarons, the babka was pretty good. Was sorely disappointed by the almond croissant though as it was filled with chocolate instead of marzipan which I feel like is what I look for in an almond croissant. Otherwise good quality.
A.
Amazing patisseries. Certainly deserve a visit. 5/5 for taste. Would be unfair to not try everything. V almost had everything :) too bad didn’t take more pics as got right into it :)
Delightful place and products. Would visit any day if lived in welly.
Although is pricey ..
A.
Absolutely one of the best place to have pastry and desserts in Wellington. Some incredible unique combinations and some Grace take of classic desserts that are just magnificent. Without forgetting there croissants, always crunchy on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside, just like a croissant is meant to be.
S.
As always a beautiful business, with lovely staff that make the most delicious creations! It is an absolute must visit when in Wellington ❤
W.
First time went to Grace Patisserie and will definitely keep coming back! Lovely service. One of the best almond croissant I’ve ever had! Earl grey macaroons were amazing! Love the ambience as well. Will definitely try more of their sweet selections! Recommended!
C.
Grace patisserie where you can eat cakes with an elegant and modest sweetness. You can eat and drink in the cafe space inside the shop. Closed on Monday and Tuesday.
H.
Gorgeous desserts. Incredibly delicately made with such care. They look stunning and the taste is fantastic. The best desserts we’ve had in a very long time. Good allergy options also
C.
I had some of the most beautiful desserts I've ever had here and not only were they beautiful but they tasted incredible. If you want a dessert that's on another level you should give this a try.
C.
Holy mouth party! You must try the pastries at Grace. This is our go-to sweet spot now. They are incredibly friendly and provide great service too. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a sweet treat for yourself or want to impress a friend. You won't regret it.

So happy that we discovered this lovely dessert cafe. This is exactly what Wellington needed. We have tried something different on the menu every time, we are always amazed at the amount of flavours, textures and excitement every dessert brings us. The staff and owner is very welcoming. The atmosphere is bright, relaxing and there is always beautiful fresh flowers. Very thoughtful touches through out, have a look at the opening hours - great place to meet after work and extended hours over the weekend. We can't wait to go back! :) Raven and Hugo

Mariah created our two tier wedding cake and IT WAS AMAZING! Not only beautiful, but so beautiful on the palate. The taste and textures blew everyone away. I wouldn't hesitate to ask GP to do your wedding cake. We also received GF cupcakes and those were also divine.
The regular goods they sell are also to the highest standard. And for me, the hot chocolates really stand out! Everything they do and provide is done with finesse. Thank you to Mariah and the team.
H.
This place is amazing! The food is 10/10 and the staff are so genuinely friendly and welcoming. They even took a few photos of our group that we could have. The came around with water all the time to make sure our glasses were full and it made us feel really nice. Thank you, it made our special get together even better.
E.
I have been here several times and each time it's awesome. Amazing cakes, not only delicious but also unique flavours and works of art! The other selections are yummy too, the coffee's good and the service is friendly! Bonus is you can sit outside in the sun in the morning 👏👍
N.
Desserts are well balanced, not too sweet.
Love their macaroons. (I think I can eat it everyday😆)
PS. The latte art on my coffee was the best I ever had in town.
L.
Love the macarons here. Recommend yuzu. Matcha latte (with classic sweet taste added, Sweet tooth.) <3
D.
We had the high tea for two. So damned delicious. Wonderful sweet treats, beautifully made and presented. Expensive, so a one off treat. But I would definitely come back and buy an individual treat from the lovely counter selection. Coffee was average. Tea was nice and well served.
S.
The desserts here are amazing 🙌🏻 Ive stayed in Auckland for abit and had tons of desserts there but this place really blew me away! Cakes are really yum and i usually take a box of macarons home every time i come down to Wellington! They usually don't last through the trip back because everyone finishes them on the ride up 😂 Best chocolate macaron ive had hands down!! Owners are really nice as well with excellent service!

A small patisserie slightly off the main drag, but don't let its size deceive you! It holds a collection of authentically made pastries that will excite your taste buds. The patisserie I have found that does do Rum Baba since being in NZ (12 years). This place holds so much taste and delight. I am sorry but the food was so good I couldn't wait.
Back here a week later with only more tales of joy. The pastries here are to die for and offer so much flavour. Each pastry is prepared with care and attention to detail, the chef is from France and has so much passion for her work. This is a must Visit. I had to add a few more photos.
D.
my one and only fav sweets store
reserve a table is recommended especially on weekend
M.
The Canelés are easily the best in Wellington...
Actually every pastry I've tried so far is the best of it's kind that I've had in New Zealand. And I haven't tried everything yet.
Exquisite.
D.
Great coffee... consistently good. The patisserie on display look incredible but for me it was about finding Wellington's best almond croissants. This is definitely one of the best I've had.
S.
Beautiful and decadent cakes made from interesting quality ingredients. Beautiful textures. A treat for the eyes and tastebuds.
The cakes we had -
LINETTE: Passionfruit meringue tart.
RAVEN: chocolate mousse, sea buckhorn crémeuse, hazelnut moelleux & praline feullientine.
PHOEBE: coconut tonka bean mousse, raspberry confit, chocolate sponge, coconut & cacao nib streusel.
d.
Such a beautiful dessert cafe. The desserts and macaroons are just so amazing and perfect. The team are so friendly aswell. Since we were there to close, they gave us the last dessert in the display. <3
b.
Top quality, love the work. Highly recommend. More power to chefs …
H.
Great coffee and dessert! Clean atmosphere and friendly staffs! Great for quick coffee catch up with friends and family. Seatings fill up quickly due to high popularity, especially during peak times!
N.
Beautiful and delicious pastries! The canelé and croissant were the best I’ve ever had. Couldn’t recommend this patisserie more highly. Thanks!
K.
Beautiful and delicious cakes, lovely staff. Highly recommend. We ordered several and did a tasting!
C.
10/10 service, Fast and super nice staff
Amazing flavours and great food
T.
Grace Patisserie made a fantastic vegan birthday cake. Both vegan and non-vegan friends thought it was one of the best cakes they have had. Grace helped me to choose from the flavours and the design I chose turned out really well. I will be back.
S.
We first saw this place and fell inlove! Staff are very welcoming and the desserts are amazing, totally worth the visit😍
J.
Had multiple high teas here, a panda cake for a special day, and lots of small treats. Never disappointed!
G.
When Strawberry Fare closed its doors a few years ago, it left a huge empty space in Wellington's heart. I have to say that Grace Patisserie not only fulfilled that gap gracefully but also they keep surprising me every time I try their new additions! Please grow your space, we need a bigger place with more tables :)
M.
That's definitely my place for an amazing desserts! All of them are their own kind of perfection, starting from good old classic almond croissant to the very complex cakes, which are piece of art! Highly recommend!
A.
Delicious macaroons in very creative flavours, loved it. Also super friendly staff, overall a great place to have dessert!
J.
I had the best almond croissant I've ever eaten outside of France from Grace Patisserie a few weeks ago. I will definitely be going back for more.
W.
Spectacular patisserie, amongst the best in Wellington. Highly recommended.
I.
Finally a truly excellent patisserie in Wellington! Artistically crafted cakes with creative combination of flavors. As always, I gravitate towards the chocolate ones! I have yet to try their croissants and canele. Very friendly staff who are always keen to please their customers. Have already started telling foodie friends about them. Definitely recommend!
M.
We discovered this French-style Pattisserie by chance when we wandered down Tory Street and much to our delight, discovered it was a hidden gem for afternoon tea, morning tea, dessert and any time-of-day treat! The premise is small and intimate, service is excellent and you can tell how popular the food is because by 3 pm cakes have almost sold out.
As for their lemon tart the finesse of its presentation was superceded only by its delicate but exquisite tastes and textures! The almond croissant was also good. Take time to savour each bite when you visit GP because your taste-buds will be gleefully delighted with every mouthful and reward you with a flood of endorphins!
F.
Mariah created our wedding cake for us and it was absolutely spectacular. She was super nice to work with and was able to turn our vague description into a reality. We would definitely recommend grace patisserie to anyone looking at getting a wedding cake.
S.
Lovely atmosphere and caring service! Would highly recommend. The cakes are gorgeous 😍 visiting from Auckland for work and would be on the top of my list to visit when I return again.
A.
Finally a dessert place for those date nights! Loved the food and the service. Welly On a Plate "Egg" was delicious and so creative.
D.
I love this place, I get an Almond croissant 🥐 almost everyday, they are the most amazing thing I've ever had. The staff are super nice too and the place is always immaculate and spotless.
J.
Tea ,hot chocolate, pastries and macarons and they were all amazing, a must do in Wellington
J.
Just having your macarons right now and they are amazing as usual. The shell is so airy and fresh, the filling taste perfect. It tastes better than it did when you first opened as well, so well done in improvement. I'm sure I'll visit again soon for more :)
C.
I ordered a cake from Grace Patisserie and it was delicious. I really love how you can choose the flavour of the sponge, filling and icing. I now want to go through their whole catalog of flavours. They put alot of care and attention in their cakes and food. I've also dined in and really love the ambiance and friendly service. Fantastic Patisserie.
J.
I have never tasted a croissant as delicious as the one I had here. Still warm from being freshly baked the morning of it melted in the mouth. Having tasted both the almond croissants and the chocolate croissant I was blown away. Can not recommend this place enough! Bring friends and be prepared to take away gifts for the family. Get in early before the crowds - this will be a Wellington institution in no time.
L.
I had the pleasure of ordering a cake from Grace Patisserie for my daughter’s christening. The whole process of dealing with Mariah from Grace Patisserie was a breeze. She worked with me to design the cake, sending me suggestions and drawings of what the cake might look like. I ended up with a gorgeous christening cake that both looked and tasted delicious. My guests raved over how stunning the cake looked and tasted. If you’re looking for a cake for a special occasion, do yourself a favour and get in touch with Grace Patisserie.
E.
Love this place! We had the canele and have never seen in any other shop in Wellington. They also have many unique macaroon flavours. Keen to come back to try the other desserts. We enjoyed the coffee as well. Highly recommend this place :).
T.
The loveliest hidden gem in Welly! Most amazing combination of subtle tastes and well balanced flavours. Well worth a cake pilgrimage. Talented and friendly staff to create this wonderful experience. The cafe has a warm atmosphere.
L.
The almond croissants are a go to! Probably the best I've had. I have found myself spending far too much time gazing at the cabinet but everything is so beautiful! The staff are very friendly, definitely recommend popping in.
M.
What a beautiful shop! The pastry and cakes are all gorgeous, with creative, delicate flavor combinations. My lemon thyme meringue tart was perfect, and I can't wait to come back and try some other goodies!
C.
Delicious and beautiful pastries in a relaxing atmosphere. Thank you!
a.
Loved the classic almond croissant and pain au chocolat. Rest of the desserts on display looked alluring. Classy !! Staff were welcoming.
Mocha was quite disappointing :(
S.
OMG!!! Very good and fresh patisserie, her homemade pain au chocolat and croissant are to die for. You can see the different layers and the crispiness of the viennoiseries, they are as good as my favorite bakery in Paris.
Let's talk about her cannelés, soooooo yummmmm! They are even better than la Toque Cuivrée from Bordeaux, they are moist inside, crispy outside and very well balance with the rum! 😋😋
I had the feijoa gâteau (Jie), the mousse is so light, fresh with that delicate flavour of feijoa, the sablé underneath is so buttery and crispy, loved it!!! 😍😍
Her macaroons are also so amazing and appealing, they have a perfect shape and the filling is not too sweet, bought a box of 5 and they offer you a beautiful gift box.
Very good coffee too!
Can't wait to go again and try more delicacies!!!
S.
I’m not saying Grace is infallible...but anything under 5 stars and you’re soulless.
Warm owners, world-class (but actually) pastries, and cozy minimalist decor...the only thing not to love is that they’re not open late anymore (or maybe it’s for the best, so they don’t take all my money).
Golden addition to our in-town community.
b.
From French mouth, I can tell you that you gonna taste some proper French pastries. The cannelé are amazing 10 / 10 ! Same for the macarons, especially the lemon one.
P.
BEST French fusion Pâtisserie store in Wellington!!!
H.
Had the most exquisite high tea, amazing food, tea and service. Other patrons came up to us to take photos as they were also blown away at what was on offer. Treat yo' self and do it.
K.
Thanks so much Mariah for the great bespoke birthday cake. It was incredible - everyone commented on how delicious it was. There was loads left over so I took it to work today where everyone was most impressed. It looked fab too. Will definitely be back in future.
M.
Incredibly good! Had the 'Abigail', the Choux and a cinnamon swirl. Great coffee, too.

(Translated) I had almond croissants, flat whites and coffee cake. The almond croissant was moist and delicious during my favorite crispy. Cakes are not too sweet, which is common overseas, but they have a moderate sweetness and a very delicate taste. The clerk was also very nice and the inside was bright and nice. There were a lot of cakes and breads I wanted to eat, so I will definitely go there again. Thank you for the meal!

(Translated) I would like to say that it is a French dessert house close to perfection that you can eat in Wellington.
I am really grateful for the house that makes these delicate desserts delicious, as it is an area characterized by rustic desserts.
White, Milk Chocolate KANASHU is in harmony with cookies.
There are no photographs, but the Almond Chunko chocolate was really delicious.
The face is coated with almonds and sugar, and the creamy almond cream is not too sweet and harmonizes with blood.
Petit dessert here is also Nice Hardiman Pastry is really delicious.
Other menus are out of the question! It is a shop to challenge.
