The staff were friendly, and lots of happy customers. I can't fault their attitude or the vibe of the place, and I was able to book a Beard Trim and Hair Cut at short notice back in February 2022. Perhaps I didn't describe what I wanted well enough, but I left with a very average beard - not horrible bad - but a bit of a disappointment. I would not recommend Mankind for a Beard Trim. However, their other services may be excellent (I have only been there once), and there seemed to be lots of happy customers and a positive vibe about the place.

First time getting my hair cut by a pro and Mia did a phenomenal job rescuing the disaster I walked in with. Bonus for the free beverages and excellent pricing. Super cool cats working here. I will be back.

Great wee barbershop, Natalie has cut my hair for ages now and there's no one I trust more! If you're looking for a great place to get your hair cut, look no further. It's located inside the Tannery so a great excuse to check out some of the other shops there too.

This place is easily the best in Christchurch. Been back and forth due to me living rural and usually I would just go to wherever suits but this place is just worth the trip. First time here warm welcome, was offered a drink prior to starting spent time discussing how I wanted my hair cut. Genuine interest in getting to know me as a person. The stylist stopped several times to allow me to put on my glasses to see what she was doing. She then logged my cut preference into their computer so if she was unavailable the other styles new exactly what we had agreed on in the way of style length. Amazing customer service ,great haircut. Will definitely be going back.

Got an appointment 1h later a Saturday for a complete grooming. Nice and clean shop, skilled hair dressers, result as expected, got advices and not very expensive. They deserve their marks.

Still a great barbershop - just returned after a few years away and it’s worth travelling across town to go here. Even better is they keep a note of your cut / style, so it’s an easy rinse and repeat!

Cannot fault the attention and care I received at this wonderful establishment. Definitely the best experience I have ever had when visiting a barber. Marg was everything you would wish your barber to be, providing a level of service second-to-none.. Loved the experience and I will of course return.

Great shave, good haircut. I got no complaints. Make an appointment for the shave, they sometimes accept walk-ins for haircuts. Awesome location affording those that accompany you the chance to do some relaxed shopping while they wait for you to finish. A bit pricey but we'll worth it if you can spare the cash. I'll be back.

Make sure you book as it can get quite busy! Although they do allow walk-ins. Great service, haircuts and banter to be had a Mankind. I live in Brisbane (moved from Christchurch) so whenever I am back visiting family/friends & I need a trim. Mankind is my go to!

Fantastic thing they've got going here. Had my hair cut today and I enjoyed every second of it. Donna, the owner, was there; she was an awesome barber and, quite refreshingly, actually knows what she's doing! She offered some nice conversation and a cold beer as well as a rejuvenating scalp and shoulder massage and I left feeling fresh and new. I'd recommend this place to any gent coming through and I'd have to say this is all part of the Tannery experience. Far too often I'll head somewhere to have my hair cut and end up dreading the next 15-20 minutes in the chair because I'm not confident that it's being left in the right hands. Donna knew all the right questions to ask and had some sound advice on her products to offer. The entire experience felt very organic and I was glad to have been.

The best hair stylist I ever seen in christchurch they are good but costly but they make you satisfy with their work and I recommend everyone to try this place it's at the tannery bit typical to find and get used to arrive early as it's a busy place all time . I was the person who was not able to keep up time and met then for third appointment .They are good highly recommend to try arrive 10 min before your appointment.👍✌🏻😊

Pretty average cut but very nice customer service and hospitality, don't get me wrong i liked this place but it was way over priced $45 for a hair cut is too much. Save your money and go to Jeff OLeary Barber Shop half the price and way better cut.
