P.I first found this place because they fitted me in in short notice. I am now 100% loyal and won’t go anywhere else because these guys know their stuff.
I’ve got Chloe and she, like all of them there, can pick up on when you want to talk and when you want quiet time. This is VERY important!
Each time I’ve been incredibly vague with my expectations and yet they still seem to know exactly what I’m after.
100% recommended.

This is a place where stuff gets done. The staff to me seem happy in their job and I’ve only ever had 10/10 professionalism. But I also like alternative music myself, and so I just think this place is COOL 😎
H.Steph is the consummate stylist. Always has ideas on easy to maintain styles. Her knowledge & expertise is second to none with colouring. It looks amazing every time. Every time.
I have also had Clöe do my hair, an excellent cut & professional finish. Keep up the great work y'all!

H.A very overdue review - Steph cut my hair on 18th February. After so long without a cut my hair really needed a good chop and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to do it. I had a cleansing treatment, wash and cut by Steph. She taught me so much about the benefits of certain products etc and was very knowledgable. I can’t thank you enough - my hair still looks fab now!
E.I've lost count of how many times I've been and I have nothing but good things to say! My stylist Steph takes my vague ideas and turns them into plans that turn out fantastic every time. I'm well looked after with a hot tea or coffee (the blood orange tea is my favourite) while she works her magic, checking in with me regularly to make sure we're on exactly the same page. The rest of the staff are absolutely lovely too and they make the salon such a friendly place to be. I could be here all day but you get the idea: you will get great results here and enjoy yourself while you're getting them.

H.I was new to New Plymouth and looking for a new hairdresser - The Cutting Edge came up top of the google search, and had an appointment free for when I needed it, so I booked. All I can say is that I am so glad that I went there. Donna was my hairdresser, literally for the whole day. I had a crazy idea for my hair, going from dark brown to silver - and she spent all the live long day working on my hair and making it awesome. She was so patient with me and worked hard to get it looking right. The salon has a really relaxed atmosphere, and the two girls that where there for the day - Donna and Steph, made me feel so welcome, and were so down to earth, friendly and fun. Not only did the colour come out amazingly, but Donna did such a great job on the cut. My husband said it's the favourite style he's seen on me, and we've been together for 16 years, so that's saying something. ;) Thank you so much Donna, you are a legend!
C.Literally the best hair cut I have ever had and I feel like iv travelled a bit now. I came with a plan, Steph asked if she could change it up, and then created something way cooler. Also you can have the option of getting your hair cut with a knife, which is cool as. In regards to the 1 star review I saw somewhere on here. My haircut was 50 dollars, which I think is totally reasonable. If your in New Zealand and need a hair cut go to Cutting Edge, it's good :).
J.Walk into the warmest welcome and engaging atmosphere! Take a seat with a cup of coffee, tea or even a hot chocolate (they'll even throw in a little chocolate heart).. have a yarn or two if you like and the conversation would just flow with such ease. Trust your hair to the experts who might I add are beyond excellent at what they do and walk out well with a hair that now accentuates you ☺️ It goes without saying that Steph is amazing at what she does, is super insightful, has an excellent eye for detail and honestly give her free reign and she never disappoints not ever! Love the team.. they only keep getting better.
P.Amazing hair cut. Steph went above and beyond to correct a hair cut gone horribly wrong (mall hair cut, should have know better). She took the time to understand my hair and know what I wanted. Even though it had to be cut shorter than I would have wanted she did an amazing job with the hair I showed up with. Highly recommended
C.i absolutely love coming here~ its such a welcoming little salon and everyone is always incredibly friendly. Steph has been my stylist since i first came in and she always does an amazing job. im really indecisive and never really know what i want done when i come
in so i am always relying on her judgement and skill to know what would work best. its always amazing and she hasn't let me down yet!
