A.Great hair dresser. I've struggled to find a good hair dresser as I have long thick wavy hair which can be difficult to style.
I felt quite nervous at my most resent visit, as I was completely restyling my hair, but she always takes time to consider how my hair falls and cuts it accordingly.
Since getting it cut I've had so many compliments on how beautifully my hair falls and what a wonderful job the hair dresser did!
r.I have naturally curly hair and found Tina is the only hairdresser in Wellington who knows how to handle it. I'm always very happy with my cut and colour. It's very good value for money and I find my conversations with Tina are fascinating, not the normal banal chit chat you get at a lot of hairdressers. Would highly recommend.
R.Tina was amazing! At my initial consultation she was clear about what could be done, did an allergy test, colour test & gave me an accurate quote. At my appointment I was able to relax and she took my damaged hair and has helped it back to its natural colour and state.
She knows how to handle thick curly hair and doesn’t try to upsell you on products or services you don’t want. I’m delighted with the results already and will be back for further appointments.
M.Tina was great! I had no idea what I wanted to do with my hair and I went to her only because my regular hairdresser was busy until after the new year. She helped me decide what would look good on me and I've been loving my new style ever since! What's great is that it looked the same on day 2,3&4! Very easy to style!
J.After several bad experiences with stylists at other Wellington hair salons (and with hair that badly needed a cut), I decided that I was going try finding a hairdresser that listened to me. So, I did the obvious thing- I googled 'hairdressers that listen to you', and found Taboo. I booked a haircut and met Tina, who was lovely- and listened to me! In fact, she asked for feedback throughout the cut, and made sure that I was happy and we both had the same style in mind. I went away with a haircut that made me feel amazing, and to be honest it was probably the first time in years that that had happened. I went back earlier today with ideas for a different style, and Tina gave me another great haircut!
I absolutely recommend Taboo hair salon, Tina really knows how to cut curly hair so it looks amazing. In the past, I have found some hair stylists very intimidating to talk to, but Tina is really lovely and will give you honest feedback if you have a cut in mind- but not at the expense of what you want. I think I've finally found my Wellington hairdresser!
S.Being new to Wellington I wanted to start 2019 off with a new look, reinvent myself, with the help of my niece we found Taboo hair salon and more importantly Tina...I've had long hair all my life, my hair is also crazily curly, I was super anxious /nervous, and nearly chickened out a few times, but with Tina's amazing patience, listening to me without any pressure, and giving me sound professional advice on how to rock my short hair and really love my curls...Tina achieved all that and more .. K.Best hair salon in Wellington by FAR! Tina got me in straight away, did an amazing job on fixing my colour and was super knowledgeable. She's fast, friendly, talented, fairly priced.... Just all around amazing. Don't waste your money at all the trendy salons in the CBD like I did- go to Taboo first! :)

N.Tina was awesome with my hair! I have just recently moved to Wellington from the States and my hair was in a bad state. Busy packing and moving and settling in, my hair was trashed. She knew exactly what to do with my over processed, naturally curly, bird nest. My hair has been happy and manageable, and I can't wait until my next appointment as it is a work in progress to get my hair back on the right track to full health. And I had my eye brows threaded by her instead of the usual waxing I used to torture my face with. Much nicer for my skin and seems like it has lasted longer. :)
N.Tina was absolutely wonderful. She's extensively trained, and it shows: she's extremely skilled at her work. She's friendly and pleasant, and makes certain of your satisfaction. I've been discontent with everywhere else I've tried around Wellington, but Tina gave me exactly what I've been looking for. I will certainly return!
