My partner and I purchased romance duo package and couldn’t recommend it enough. The cocktails and antipasto platters were delicious. The poolside service was second to none! Our evening massage left us feeling extremely relaxed. Huge compliments to the staff and therapists. We will definitely be returning!!

A fabulous place to visit is very tropical reminds me of Balli. The hot pools are relaxing to soak in. Cold drinks,.cocktails and a platter of food can be enjoyed while soaking in the pools. Also a restaurant our lunch was delicious. Highly recommend

A gorgeous oasis that provides an idyllic sanctuary from the summer sun. A variety of pools to soak in with poolside service offering a quenching cocktail to enjoy. We expected the restaurant to be an afterthought rather than a standout but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the food was one of the highlights of our Whitianga stay. Of particular note was the garlic bread - chosen on a whim but proved to be one of the most delicious things I’ve tasted. Excellent mains, well presented and full of flavour, we’re finished off with a deconstructed affogato. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the Coromandel.

What a surprise package. Beautifully designed topical oasis. Full spa package available. Very professional. Pools with varied temperatures. Caves & waterfalls. Mood lighting & music. Cocktails and snacks served to you while you are relaxing in the pools. Pina Colada was delicious. Very clean well organised. Live music playing in the lovely restaurant.clean well appointed bathrooms. Good range of Fiji Pure products in stock. We were very impressed. Pays to book (a 2 hour slot) as numbers are restricted due to covid rules. Adults only.

Very pretty place to visit, but an average experience. Only 3 pools, 1 being right out of the restaurant window. So not so private or comforting to swim in. One bigger pool that was lukewarm at best with a very small "hot" area. And only one hot pool that was absolutely packed. We couldn't even get up the stairs to look at the hot pool, that's how packed it was. We were very close to sitting on the steps with a tiny stream of warm water just so we would warm up a little. Grazing platter was actually quite nice. I really enjoyed that and the cocktail. Not sure if it was worth $100 for a package though. The price includes entry, a towel, a complimentary cocktail, grazing platter and a robe. Still really pretty and overall an alright experience. Just wish there was bigger hot area's for those who enjoy the hot part of hot pools.

Very nice place 👌The main pool is not warm enough for winter months and suggest you would go there in autumn or spring! Great food and cocktails though. The changing rooms and showers definitely need to be upgraded, chipping paint etc.

Both the pools and the restaurant were great ! We were a bit hesitant as some reviews mentioned that the pools looked a bit aged, indeed it's a bit pricey but we were very positively surprised. We'd recommend to go at night though for an even better experience. The food at the restaurant was excellent, good quantities and definitely fair price. Note that we took a pool entry + ordered the food separately, as the food options in the 'package deals' didn't seem so exciting.

A very relaxing place. The pools are nice, lots of nature around so feels like you’re in a jungle really. However I do think it’s a bit expensive for what it is. You have to pay extra for towels and even a locker. For the price paid it should at least include the basics, it would not cost them anything to provide a locker for instance, and the entry is not cheap.

The place is like a tropical oasis! The facilities are amazing and the environment oozes relaxation and charm with its lush, green setting and pristine water. The pools offer a temperature for everyone and if it gets too warm, you can order a drink from the pool. Its definitely somewhere I'll be returning to again😊👍

Nice place to spend a few hours, and the restaurant was excellent. Had the version steak, and cooked well. Main pool a little on the cool side, so if you prefer it hotter head to the separate pool at the far end of the property.

Overall nice, staff are super nice and helpful, but when I compare the price versus what you get with many many spa and hot pools I visited in last years in NZ, it's overpriced. Extra charge for towel, robes, shampoo etc. The main pool was even cold for us and we spend the whole time in the only hot one. It was lovely to have the wet bar and that you can order drinks and snacks from the pool, I was just expecting more.

Was a bit underwhelming. Cost $100 each for pool entry, a tasting platter (average to good) and a cocktail (good). The main pool is lukewarm and was quite crowded with empty plates and glasses a common sight. The cave area smelt like hot chips due to the poolside eating. There is a small hot pool that was a decent temperature. The entire place feels quite tired/dated, including the poolside decor and the main building. The place has potential but just wasn't quite there in my opinion, and I don't think the current price is justified for what it is currently delivering. Save your money and go to hot water beach!

Perhaps a little overcrowded, but a pretty unique experience with lovely staff and pools, a range of temperatures to suit your preference and a really nice restaurant. Recommend the dip and dine deal for a good combination and reasonable price. Cocktails are a little pricey! But overall can recommend for an experience as a couple or a small group

From the moment you enter the driveway, you feel like you've arrived at a tropical island. Everything is spotless, stunning, atmospheric, beautifully maintained. I could have stayed there for days, it was such a therapeutic, relaxing 4 hours of pure bliss. During the Auckland lockdown I have been craving to head back here and will do so with friends in February 2022.

Really good experience. A bit pricey and the need to book ahead makes it a bit exclusive. Dining in the restaurant was very good though having people walk past our table, shortcut ti g to the changing room in wet swimwear wasn't quite right.

It's a nice spot. Pools are big enough to find your own quiet corner. Good pool side drink service. The best bowl of fries I have heard in ages

Went to the Lost Spring with BFF to have a girls night out. We had Dip and dine $80 each. The food is awesome. We didn't know robe and towel not included as not mentioned on website, hence we didn't bring our own. We hired the towel $5 each. Not suitable to bring children. More suitable for couple and adults only.

Spent over half the day here. 4 hours in the hot water pools, followed by a meal in the restaurant. Couldn’t experience the spa treatments as they book up quickly. You need to book at least two weeks ahead if you want to enjoy the spa, but the earlier you can book the better. Friendly attentive staff and good food as well but maybe a little expensive. Would go again, but making sure to book the spa well in advance first.

The Lost Spring is a truly luxurious experience like you have been whisked away to a tropical island. Hot pools where you are waited on, providing whatever you desire, cocktails to die for and something scrumptious for the hungry. Nestled amongst natives and palm trees this has to be the most idyllic spot you could wish for. Coupled with a meal at the restaurant with great food and wine choices this really is heaven. The options here are extensive and the service outstanding. True indulgence, worth ever minute.

Personally I liked it. But at the same time I felt it's bit costly as their hot pools are quite small compare to number of people they allow. Specially the highest temperature pool was extremely small and many of us couldn't get a space to enter. The best deal was fries.

Not as natural as we preferred, drinks at the drink shack were also very expensive. However I found the food at the dine was quite nicely cooked. The pools were relatively well designed and our first plunge of experience was pretty amazing. They were just a little small to accommodate so many visitors and not much space to have some privacy. Towels and lockers are available for hire, so remember to bring your own towel. Pure Fiji products can be purchased here, really fabulous smells.

Hidden treasures I ever have been. Best staff will help you around pools and good food and locally brewing beers. Best man made cave.

Mixed feelings. We did the Dip and Dine experience. Positives were friendly service, fantastic pina coladas, and great hot pool. Negatives were the $40 main pork was dry and not worth price, small portion sides were additional $9 each. Overall it was very overpriced for an average experience.

Unfortunately we couldn't use the pool there because we didn't have reservations, so be sure to BOOK before going there . Kids under 14 years old are not allowed in our around the pool. The place looks so so beautiful and the restaurant is so beautiful and the staff are very kind and friendly

AMAIZING! Allan and Alanah have done a truly amazing job of this. First time there and after a 8 hour drive, this was the perfect way to finish the day. Beer, wine and nibbles "in" the pool and then dinner at the window on the pools edge listening to the waterfall in the background. The grounds are incredible and the food and service was first-class. We will definitely be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place is definitely worth a visit. It is slightly over-priced for the facilities provided but a great experience none the less. There are not enough showers, the drinks are over priced and weaker than a wet paper bag and the time frames are limited. But other than that, the pools are nice, mostly medium heat and not too deep

If you're in the area this place is worth it. No one would ever know this type of place is in the area. They have done a wonderful job creating this spot. My husband and I got a couples package that included a massage, 1 and 1/2 hour swim, a mixed drink and antipasto platter for each. It is well worth the money to get a package and easy to spend a few hours of your day relaxing while you eat, drink and swim. The staff were attentive and the massage was one of the best we had on the island.

Had a great time here with my partner. We did the dip and dine package. The facility itself was very nice. A little smaller than I thought but still great and super nice. Very romantic place to spend a day with your other half! The hottest pools are up behind the main pool with the cave. Don't bother bringing your own lock as you can only rent out their lockers. They also have towel hires if you forget yours. The food was decent, wouldn't say it was worth the money. For that price you can eat very very well in Auckland. The restaurant staff was very nice and kind. But I can't say the same for what seemed to be the manager near the front desk. She almost seemed like she was bullying the other front desk lady and was just unpleasant all around to interact with. Other than her. Was a great time! A+

Happened to be in Whitianga for the weekend and EVERYONE kept telling me about this place... Went online and thought it was a bit pricey to lie in a hot pool so decided against it, but their food looked reasonably priced and went for lunch. Had a fresh juice and calamari and I can honestly say it might be the best calamari I've ever had! Also while having lunch I was a bit disappointed that I didn't book to lie in a hot pool! The atmosphere is great and it's absolutely beautiful! This will stay on my bucket list till next time. A perfect escape with the girlfriends or someone special❤️

A wonderful, relaxing day with both my husband and son. Soaking in the thermal waters, in a tropical setting (my son said he felt like he was at a Hawaiian resort), while enjoying a cocktail and platter was such a great, unique experience but I have to say that the outstanding part for me was the back massage! Gina is a genius at massage! I have never experienced one even close to whole back massage that she gave me, absolutely perfect pressure and so thorough and professional and she provided such a relaxing atmosphere. I can't wait to go back, and a repeat massage with Gina is definitely on my itinerary!

Lovley pools to relax. There are 2 pools. A hot crater pool which is quite hot and the main lagoon which has little thermal spots and a cave you can go in. The shallow bit is the hottest. Food and drink is delivered to the poolside and you can even eat in the water. Staff vey friendly. It is quite pricey for what it is. There are other thermal spas that are bigger and cheaper but they dont offer the waiter service. All in all had a very nice time. You can choose 90 mins for 40$ or all day 70$ 90 mins is an okay amount of time but id go with all day if you have all day.

Wonderful relaxing hidden gem. We had a couples massage that was absolute bliss. Could easily spend the day lazing in the pools with a cocktail in hand. The restaurant food was great too!

Slice of paradise in the middle of Whitianga suburbia! From when you enter the car park you feel like you've been transported into a pacific island. Reminded us of Rarotonga or Fiji. There are two pools - main and Crater Lake. The latter is the warmer one. They currently only do package deals, but on the expensive side, but worth it! We went for the 1.5 hour soak with a grazing platter and cocktail each, which set is back $200.

What a great experience. We did a package that included a drink, platter, massage and 2hrs in the pools. The staff were all extremely friendly and when we arrived we were given really great instructions about the experience worked. The platter was huge and ours included, olives, sundries tomato, prosciutto, salami, crackers, cheese and bread. Like most platters it could have used some more bread. I’d visit again and it’s great for a girls weekend away!

I had a mixed experience. The setting at the pools and staffing top notch as always!! Our party of four decided on dinner for my friends birthday 🎂. Whilst three of the meals wasn't up to the standard as we hoped we all ordered the same. The pork belly was amazingly delicious!! The staff and restaurant manager went over and above and took on our feedback on board and followed it through by giving a decent discount. Well handled professional and without a fuss. The service was outstanding!! 👍

Beautiful Polynesia style spa. Various temperature natural hot pools set in a tropical environment. Waiter service and cashless wristband system makes the whole experience relaxed and easy. Flavoured water stations keep you hydrated while floating in the incredible pools. Recommend the day pass and then buying food as you like, which touch xan have delivered to the water or your sun lounger. This isn't and cheap place however it is a wonderful treat, popular with hen dos, tour groups and couples alike. The meals at the restaurant are very generous and delicious. The mussels you see are an entrée, incredible.

Prepair:swim wear,big towel or robe feel like relaxing in the forest. warm water, many greens.. I really love it. but water is a bit dirty, cave interior is a bit look like for kids.

Overl priced there's just 3 pools inside overly crowded. Not sure why people comparing it to Bali it stands nowhere when it comes to Bali. As well as the price is too expensive limited number of changing rooms but I understand why it is so popular maybe there's no option in Coromandel there was Miranda pools but it's closed temporarily so, Lost spring is the only option left for people craving for hotpools

An enjoyable experience; not too busy, delicious drinks, attentive servers, and the music choices were a nice touch. Would like to visit after dark with the lights lit up :)

A really quirky jungle/ tropical themed spa with genuine thermal hot springs. Nothing too volcanic or eggy but a good variety of pools from the very hot to the pleasantly warm. It's an independent place with an individualistic vibe but all in all it is good value, friendly and well fun with decent facilities and food/ drinks.

The lost spring is a hidden treasure, so beautiful and the staff are fabulous they take your orders from the pool (you never have to get out haha) beautiful cocktails, food was amazing. We had a couples hot stone massage, I have had many massages but this one was by far the best massage I have ever had. Will definitely be back.

What a beautiful place, we definitely got lost but that's all part of the fun, great cocktails too and loved the poolside service. Only let downs were the cost was ridiculous for the very little time we spent there, the change rooms are so tiny, no where near enough room for the amount of people. Also they should have a limit on how many people are allowed in the pool at one time, it was pretty crammed when we first arrived.

Superb choice of a romantic getaway venue. Super cosy, warm mineral water to soothe your skin and relax your body while enjoying some fine drinks with your loved one. Really enjoyed our time here, except for it being a bit too crowded than optimal. Well, can't expect too much since it had a lot to with the long weekend rush!

Great day out in the open pool spas - with the weather being serene, the glow from the blue/green water gleams across a beautiful setting at the venue. A lot of sun tan lotion on the bed of the pools dripping from the visitors, so be weary of dipping your head under water.

Such an incredible spot in what is already a beautiful place (Whitianga). Everything about The Lost Spring is fabulous... the surroundings, the tranquility, the food and the service. Definitely a must do when you're on the Coromandel!

Dissapointed with the cleanliness of the pool. Even the locals said it was dirty. Leaves and sticks in the main pool. Especially as the cost is not cheap.

This is the best hot pool spot in New Zealand. Great for couples. It's adults only.

An amazing place to relax the mind and body. Just soak the aches away. We got the all day pool combo for $120. Great deal, all day pool pass, a platter, a cocktail, a robe and towel. TOTAL BLISS. Love coming to The Lost Springs. My friends and I try and come to celebrate our birthdays or just a girls Day. AWESOME!

Quite underwhelming and crowded. Please note: Borrowing a towel will cost you 5$, a locker 3$ and a robe 15$ (with the normal entry not sure what's the case with the packages they offer) so keep that in mind when you visit :) Thought it would be bigger but the entrance fee is worth it for the amount of time you can stay! I loved the drinks they offered inside, too.

Simply amazing. We went here for our anniversary and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Relaxing ambiance, peaceful music, hot pools, and cool drinks. Had a soak and then went for a couples massage. Didn't want to leave and there is no rush. The staff are friendly and the owners took care of us. Everyone takes pride in what they do and it's well deserved. Will definitely be coming back.

We have been here several times and have enjoyed every moment of it... every time. A wonderful escape from busy life and just relax to replenish and recharge, and meet/see some interesting people from time to time. Definitely, a place to visit if ever in Whitianga. Just be mindful of opening times. It is nicer to visit at night time when all the different lights make a big difference to the ambience and atmosphere, in my opinion. Lovely place to go after a hard day doing the tourist things or just a relax after work. The pools were very nice and the setting was excellent. several options available for example adding cocktails or food to your order while you relax in the pools. Changing rooms were a little congested while we were there so we just wrapped ourselves up and went to the motel

Absolutely magical experience, albeit a tad expensive. Did the pool combo with drinks and grazing platter. Very attentive staff and lovely facilities. Beautiful pools, swing bridge, cave and lots of flowers and plants. Only thing I didn't like is we were not acknowledged for several minutes by the front desk when we walked in and there was only one shower.

Nice to relax in the hot sping water. Pools are at different levels, the hottest at the top. Food and drinks are available and can be delivered to you whilst in the pools.

Perfect afternoon, an incredible water park creation, ask to see the history book in the restaurant full of photos showing the construction. Good food and service at a fascinating venue. Even had a bike rack!

They did a great job creating a whole atmosphere that made us feel like we'd entered another place.

It was absolutely gorgeous! I went during Easter, so was a bit crowded and couldn't order alcoholic cocktails without a big meal. So I'm definitely going back when it's less busy, and float around different pools with my Pina Colada 😍

Came here for my second time in 2 years. Had the honor to meet the owner Alan that had the incredible vision of building this amazing place. Had such a great time talking to him about the history of the Lost Springs. I would rate this as one of the best experiences to do in NZ. Alan has made this place incredible. What a visionary!

5 stars for the spa itself - poolside service, lovely environment (possibly a wee bit overcrowded), gorgeous pools. However was very disappointed with the restaurant - when you charge $40 for steak, it should be great quality. It was tough & too fatty. I'd highly recommend the spa, but skip the restaurant!

Not cheap but well worth the money for a lovely day out. The pools are lovely but the steps do need to be marked as it is very difficult to see where the step is. I know I was not the only person there to stub a toe on the edge of a step. The meal was absolutely amazing.

Mini tropical paradise to while away a couple of hours in tepid to comfortably hot. Love the floating menus with a good variety of food and drinks. Book ahead would be a key piece of advice. :-)

We had the pleasure of visiting this on Sunday night... Great experience. Locals all helpful.... Sent us in the direction of the hotter pool.. Drinks not over priced.. Was so nice... A shame its over priced.. And then don't even give you a towel... Or a locker.. One drink each and a 2 hour soak for over a 100 is pretty steep..might work for overseas people but we are trying to help you guy's.

Very cool place. Well run and friendly service. Staff will take your drink and food orders from the pool and you can enjoy your drinks and food in the pool. Loads of options in addition to the hot pools with spa treatments and fine dining. Feels like a tropical resort.

Take yourself there for a treat and enjoy the surroundings you really feel like you are at a resort. If you can take the Friday off and miss the crowds then do... and Its a must to try the Pina Colada's they are to die for! The only small gripe would be the main pool could be a little warmer. Enjoy the time the lovely staff .

Beautiful, rainy day is a good day to go, the warm waters are appreciated. It looks like the photos, nothing I post would do it justice because it was overcast, and, I was relaxing so dumped my camera! The cashier was a bit too efficient, you should have a good idea of what you want before going as they look slightly stressed if you take more than a few seconds to make a decision. Another person at the cafe made up for it though, mega-friendly. If you are solo I don't think you need more than the 1.5hrs, it's plenty of time to transform into a prune. Pricey experience @ $45. $60 is for 4 hours. I didn't have food or drink but it was delivered to people around me. Apparently the coffee was nice but too hot to hold... I hope the milk wasn't overcooked! Pro tip; I didn't try this but a local told me if you leave your credit card at the front, they will give you an extra 1/2 hour. Let me know if you try it and the result!

This place is absolutely stunning. It has beautiful caves with crystals throughout them that you can both walk through and swim in. They have a few different pools of varying temperatures so something for everyone. My fave part about it is the poolside service!! A staff member takes people’s drinks (by drinks I mean amazing cocktails) and food orders whilst in the pool and brings them too you, what more could you want! The reason I didn’t give it a 5 star however, is due to the size of the changing rooms, they are tiny, like you could fit 2-4 people max without it being crowded!

A very nice place to relax in a beautiful setting with 3 pools each with different temperatures. Upon arrival you have the option (at extra cost) whether to be served poolside snacks & cocktails while you bathe, tucked away in a grotto or lounging on the poolside chairs. Polynesian music, tropical & native plants sets the idealic scene for romance & relaxing. You can also dine here or get a massage from one of the team.

Pretty nice place, quite funny the options they offer, we chose dip n dine and found that was better value for money by the end of our experience. We were going to choose the platter and a drink 1 but we saw what you get with that and we soon realised the option we chose was the better option 💯

Beautiful spot, great service. My skin felt amazing after soaking in the geo thermal pools all day. Massage and facial was of high quality also. A very fun and relaxing day all round.

Never been disappointed, however since Covid I would recommend booking even for a swim as they limit numbers into the pool to prevent over crowding. This is not a negative, it's a great idea. Food is beautiful, but once again book a seat. It feels like you have stepped into another country once you hop into the pool.

you must book, we didn't know this from the brochures. We found the pools a little cooler than we would have liked for winter time. Hottest pool was great, but main pool being a little warmer in parts would have been nice, Lovely surroundings to relax in and plenty of space in the main pool.

Amazing adults only hot pools. Very atmospheric at night. There are different temperatures throughout the pools so easy to find the perfect spot. The pina coladas are delicious. It was crazy busy but the drinks came out quick enough. The music was mostly classic hits. Only criticisms are having to walk through the restaurant area in my togs to get to the toilets, Awkward! And not being able to make a booking by phone as no one answers it all call back when you leave a message. We had to turn up to make a booking and then wait in a local bar for 2 and a half hours. That is how busy it was. It was still worth the wait.

Beautiful place to relax and visit, can't turn down cocktails in the pool and very clean. Spa is also available on site as well as togs purchases and skincare items. Restaurant available on site as well.

Dinner was delicious, good service, & reasonably priced. Massages were as expected, but over priced compared to other places with similar service. I expected more pools with greater control of temperature given the relatively premium price for a hot tub. Drinks in the pool were quite relaxing, but had an extensive wait until pool side service came around. Overall, would recommend to anyone willing and able to spend excess money.

Came here with my husband for a couples treatment and it was sooo good! We got the twin journey package and felt so refreshed afterwards. The staff were wonderful and friendly and they didn't push you to buy their products afterwards. The pools are beautiful and well worth a swim of you have time.

Great place. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot pools and paddling around the larger warm pools. They offer drinks for the pool and have a lot of sugary cocktails + wine and beer. The staff is super friendly and it's amazingly well put together. The only reason I docked them a star is because they're somewhat liberal with their interpretation of 16+. We were surprised to see a few kids who were clearly not teenagers floating around the pool.

Great place to relax and unwind. Order food and drink by the pool or go to the restaurant. Had an hours facial. Excellent. Antipasto platter for lunch which was delicious and best of all are the mango margaritas. Stayed 4.5 hours and loved every minute

The Lost Spring is an "adults only" hot pool. It is beautifully sculptured so that it resembles a small river set in an out door environment gently winding its way along. It is like an oasis. You can order cocktails and have them bought to the edge for you to drink. There are three main pools ranging from cool to hot. There is a restaurant, bar and a beauty spa.

Having visited many thermal pools, hot pools, etc I can say for sure that this place is one of the best and most unique in the North Island of New Zealand. A very different (in my opinion better) experience than the Polynesian spa in Rotorua, for example. Not a cheap place!! Just spent $175NZD for me and my wife to have a 90 minutes soak with 2 cocktails, 2 beers and 3 tapas dishes, but by Odin's belt it was worth every cent. Will definitely be returning, probably to do a half day instead of just 90 minutes (and bringing a bigger credit card).

Went there for a girls weekend on the dip and dine package, while a little pricey the pools and staff were lovely. Limited drink and dinner menu. A member of our party ordered the pork and it arrived barely cooked. When we mentioned it to the waitress she took it back to the chefs after agreeing it shouldn’t be like that, we then proceeded to hear the chefs arguing about it and generally packing a sad. It was extremely unprofessional and put us off our meals, as it wasn’t busy and we could hear everything. Also felt sorry for our lovely waitress who they gave a hard time to.

Lovely way to spend an afternoon. Very good staff and enjoyed the Pool Plus package with platter and cocktails. A labour of love for the owner still working to make it his dream. Good job

The place is awesome! The water temperature is perfect, it can relax all the sore muscles. Lots of people were there when we visited. They have their own beauty products like body lotion and perfumes. I love the different scents.

Been to lost spring last week, it was a great experience. Tried the natural pools and it was very relaxed and calm. Definitely will be back to try the spa and massage option. Anyway I lost my phone and left a message to the reception and they were very helpful and found my phone the next day and they sent the phone by courier. Im so glad and appreciated their cooperation. =)

So beautiful and romantic lovely crystals in caves such friendly staff. The cave was stunning took amazing photos we went at a time not many people would go so had a favtastic time running from Area to area testing the waters. They even bring your food and gorgeous cocktails to you in the water. The good is so lovely and the surroundings with trees and plants makes this place a little treasure. Great areas to get dressed shower hairdryers etc,and a cafe on the grounds too. Would love to go back soon.

This place has 3 pools. Hot medium and cold pools. There seems to be enough room and seating for all who visit and I appreciated the fact that is wasn't completely busy. You can order poolside which is a plus. They provide lockers and a changing rooms for each gender. We did not try spa due to booking schedule but I'm sure that would be good too.

Very much a couples destination. $40 for the pool but everything else seemed quite over priced. ** the gate closes before the spa closes so if your getting picked up, your ride won't be able to get in.

Food was/is consumed in the pools, i saw quite alot of cocktails being slopped in the water as the glasses were not big enough or were over filled and sloshed over when people walked thru the pool 😒 did make feel nervous how clean could the pools be? I am not comfortable in public pools at the best of times! The restaurant food was nice, i had an early dinner, went to the pools and then came back for dessert, the kitchen was overwhelmed (restaurant wasnt full) and i was told it would be quite awhile for any food (why there wasn't a dedicated chef doing only desserts i don't know) so it was suggested i get an affrogato - great, 45mins later i got the affrogato....how long would dessert have taken if icecream and coffee took that long? There were lots of waitresses in the bar area - it looked like unorganised chaos To be fair I did get a discount on the drink and an apology

1st time in summer, Great experience. Staff are friendly. Full body massage was amazing. Bit pricy though 2nd time is winter, pools were cold, every one was huddled around 1 hot vent. Food was average small and over priced. After dinner we all went home and ate toast lol.

Nice place. Worth going once to get to know it, but not worth going back because of the expensive price. I think the lockers should already be included in the price, it is already expensive. People end up not paying for the locker and leaving stuff everywhere.

Amazing place, so relaxing, friendly staff, food able to be delivered to you pool side. Lots of space and different pools. Definitely recommended. The only thing that bites really hard is the price so they loose a star here. $70 for the day or $40 for an hour. Compared to Wairakei Terraces at $25 for the day which is just as nice.

The best mineral hot pools I've ever been to in NZ. Love the natural outlook. It felt like we were in the Fiji or Hawaii with the music playing quietly in the back ground. The service is awesome. Love that they take drink orders and serve them to you while you sit and relax in the pool. Available are Complementry jugs of fresh lemon and orange iced water at stations around every pool. We didn't eat here but the menu looked great. They have different packages available that includes massages and entry fees. Entry fee for 2hrs is $40 or all day is $80.

The BEST relaxing experience in Whitianga. An out of this crazy world experience of tropical surrounds, warm and hot pools created to feel like you're on a volcano, by the very clever visionary, owner Alan Hopping. Imagine floating under lush hibiscus which droop down over the pools, that gently bubble away whilst you're sipping on a drink of your choice. Nibbles can be served poolside or you can eat and drink in the beautiful restaurant, inside the converted and beautiful appointed historic school, which over looks another cooler pool and waterfall. Step out of this world for a day, enjoy a massage in the day spa or even just sit and swim in the pools, for an hour and a half. Various options available.

A friend recommended this place to relax. It looked ok from at the entrance but once we got in it is like a wonder land. It felt like there weren't many guests as the pools are spread out, super cool. You can order drinks by the pool or sit in the restaurant by the fire place to enjoy a drink.

We held a mature hens evening here and the service, food, drinks and soak were second to none. The staff and lovely owner looked after us all night and the atmosphere was fun. All round a very special night with some very special ladies - I am sure we will all be back!

My wife and I had the TLS signature package consisting of 90mins in the pools and a 30min massage with a cocktail and grazing platter. All excellent especially the massage which we both wish we had extended to the full hour. Not too many other people so felt quite private.

Went here yesterday; same-day booking was great and very quick. Had a 30min massage along with my mother; attended by Kana and Jocelyn - they are VERY talented and made us feel very relaxed. Bought an all-day pass to the pools, which was AMAZING. Even though there are only three pools, (cold, warm, hot) it's well worth it. Layout is like a little tropical resort in Fiji with music and even a little bar where you can order drinks and they bring them to you poolside. Provided with a warm robe and a locker. If you're looking for a time recommendation: go at night, 6pm+. When the weather is chilly, sitting in a steaming pool is awesome and you can see the stars. Although it might seem quite pricy, it is definitely worth the spend; great place to visit and we'll be returning again!

Wow, this place is crazy cool. Expensive as but you can find deals. As thats how we got in. All though our visit was limited to 90 minutes the lady at counter gave us an extra half hour . They have restaurant but they were fully booked. So didn't get a chance to check it out. The water did have a lot of dead bugs and stuff floating around. Other than that it was a good visit.

It was real cold in August. Even after asking the receptionist before we paid and went in.. We were very disappointed and shivered so we left after a short time. As did many other people. I said I would not go back as it's very expensive. Especially after we were told ,it's our usual temperature, by the grumpy receptionist. which certainly wasnt true. We Gave it another go today with family who hadn't been before it was warmer, but I don't think it's worth the money.

Magical place to visit. The pools are so warm and clean, the food exceptional.

Recommend you go there for a weekend relaxation get the works may be a bit expensive but you only live once. The massage was the best, the platter they served up was very nice and the variety was good. Pool was quiet relaxing.

We were rained out of our planned activities that day, and our hotel manager recommended this since it would be fun rain or shine - she was right! It's really cool approaching this hot springs spa, because it's seemingly tucked away between houses on a residential street, you'd never know that down the driveway is a lovely little getaway with warm water. While it was a bit pricey, we really made great memories there. So much better than a generic hot tub, the main attraction for us was the indoor cave with warm water, where you could swim outside and inside in one large connected area, all warm. They also have a much hotter separate area and it's nice but feels like a fancy hot tub. For us the special part was the feeling of being in heated cave water, it was very romantic!

Beautiful pools with lush gardens, a great place to relax and indulge in a massage and cocktails. A little overpriced I think, the changing areas are very basic with only one shower.

Sooooooooooo.... relaxing...not a cheap outing but really worth it if you want to relax and get away from the kids for a few hours! The poolside platter and cocktail deal was great way to spend the afternoon!

The Lost Spring is not necessarily a breathtaking attraction but is a great place nonetheless to relax after a long day. Users can choose to soak in pools of water of different temperatures. The water quality is acceptable, although the occasional debris floats by you. The poolside service was efficient and we were charged NZD$10 for a platter of chips at the end of our experience. There is only one shower. Be advised that the promotion described on a Go Rentals brochure is no longer valid at this location. The counter staff were friendly and receptive to negotiation when we encountered a problem.

Simply outstanding! A lovely little hide away that transports you to paradise. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the hot stone massage I had was bliss. Would definitely recommend!

Rather expensive for a 90-120 min soak, but a beautiful hidden treasure in downtown Whitianga. Water around 36 deg in the main lagoon, and 38 deg in crater lake, wonderfully designed and presented. Well worth a visit.

A perfect hideaway of luxury. We treated ourselves to a combo of relaxation in the pools with a delicious platter and cocktails and a couples massage - just devine! A lovely soak in the hot pools and a heavenly massage situated in the treetops. What a perfect way to end the day!

Went here with my partner for our anniversary. The staff are wonderful and it is a beautiful place to spend a few hours soaking and drinking cocktails. Can't wait to go back!!!

A delightful gem! Pools are hidden away amongst trees, shrubs and beautuful flowering hibiscus. The pool plan has several little alcoves to peacefully relax (it's not over crowded) - and also enjoy a hand delivered cocktail! :-) We visited on an over cast windy afternoon/eve and found it very sheltered. Quite possibly the best environment for natural springs pools in NZ!

Love coming here. It's always luxurious. The prices are a little up there so it has to remain an infrequent treat rather than a regular activity. Loved that we could dine poolside, literally!

Expensive but relaxing. Nice to be able to have a drink in the pool. They used to have a time limit of 30 minutes which was horrible but now you can get 90 minutes and they give you some extra time as well. So it is 100% better than it was.

90 min soak in hot pools and a great platter. Fantastic.

Perfect finish to a long day of hard work. Many pools with different temperatures so easy to find a comfortable soaking area. Cocktail was the icing!

Happy Hour Fridays. Not just 1 but 2 hours of discounted drinks and cocktail specials. Amazing nibbles circulated. Great place to be on a winters Friday night!

Amazing! We are going back. It's expensive but well worth it... go for the morning, get the full package of pamper treatments, and stay till the evening. There's an amazing French restaurant in Whitianga (Poivre & Sel) which is a beautiful place to end the evening. Make a night or a weekend out of it... can't recommend this place highly enough.

Not quite what I expected, but an enjoyable experience nonetheless. Pricey, a little touristy, and not the natural wonder or spectacle of other similar thermal springs around NZ, but still worth a visit if you enjoy hot pools.

The hot spring is four stars, however, only want to give one star for the restaurant: Waiting for an hour and only served us two plates of garlic bread. And it is not a busy moment. Very disappointed experience.

Absolutely amazing such a beautiful way to relax, rejuvenate and meet fabulous people. You would never believe that you are 5 secs away from town ... so picturesque. A absolute must on your agenda 👍

Fantastic alternative in Whitianga for a mucky day. Unfortunately weather is not always fantastic outside of Summer in this part of the world, the last thing you'd want is to travel to a holiday town and be rained in. However, The Lost Spring is the exact compromise you'd want, with three relaxing hot pools (three pools ranging from cool, warm and steaming hot). You can soak away regardless of the weather. Unfortunately, it can become a bit packed as all other travellers will come here when the weather gives in. Tip: They have promo store in the middle of town often with some nice deals. I was able to get a nice meal + soak special for a good price.

It's actually a really good experience.. Although new to New Zealand and travelling..I was like " oh here we hos other commercialised siring" yes it cost to enjoy..but it's set out nicely..you can pay for a 90 min soak or you can all our 100's of dollars and go the full experience ...be served by poolside with cocktails the list goes on.. But it's nice..neat and enjoyable..Also Romantic xx

Escape to the islands in the middle of Whitianga. Truely special experience highly recommend. Dip & Dine very good value. Food is always high quality never disapoints. Is a must visit while in Whitianga.

Great place. Very busy. Found one pool a bit too hot and the other one a bit to cold. Needed one inbetween. Needed more staff on to collect empty glasses .all around the pools and keep bathrooms lookibg tidy

An amazing place for relaxing and enjoying the natural thermal hot pools. Friendly, attentive staff, and the massage is a must for destressing and total relaxation.

Still loved the place. Just quite expensive to go. Aka put another mortgage on the house to go there type thing but really good none the less.

So different . Great food and ambience but question the need for folk to wander through the dining area in their speedos or swim in the dining area pool. They remind me of performing seals :)

A great place to visit, soak in the luxuriously built hot pools,with volcano`s, caves, gold and glow-worms, surrounded by tropical gardens drinking `pino coladas` or not...this place is a must while in Whitianga, and the meals have been good as well....can recommend it with five stars..

It's such a serene place which transports you and i always feel like your overseas at a tropical resort. The food is great too.

Great spa enjoyed it although I'd go back in the day time next time. I, however hated the drinks.

It was really worth driving all the way from Auckland to try there. Three pools with relaxing atmosphere and you can order nice cocktails while in pools.

Really good food and the layout of the facilities, and especially the pools, is fantastic but there are a few small things that need some good old maintenance.
