Stu and the Team organised a super fun Xmas bike challenge for our work Xmas event. Everything was taken care of including all the organising of the challenge through to the pick up of the bikes at our end location. The bikes were top notch (I love my bell!). The challenge was a fun way to explore the city through a different lens.

Me and my family booked a Urban Explorer bike tour with Stu, it was a very pleasant 2 hours ride with lots of infomations and history of the city, we enjoyed it, the bikes were great and the routes were easy and safe. Weather was beautiful on that Tuesday morning, we would do the City to Sea tour if we had more time, maybe next trip!

Stu was incredibly helpful and generously gave his time to help me with a bike rental and at the same time taught the kids how to ride their new xmas pressies better! Perfect example of someone going above and beyond - this is a great business run by great people who also really know their stuff!

Needed to get a bike boxed and shipped up to the North Island and Chill were more than happy to help! Nicole was super helpful and made the whole process really easy. Would highly recommend!

I went to the bike maintenance workshop. Adam is super knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Highly recommend this place.

Where do I start- I think firstly by saying how hard it is to nail customer service and affordability they don’t usually go hand in hand but Chill explore definitely have nailed it! From the start to the beginning they were just above and beyond amazing! Jono was a star, he fixed my bike and even went beyond my expectations and didn’t even charge me much for it. Came in for a puncture repair and got a full service and learnt lots about my bike I didn’t know. And was only charged for the puncture repair!
Thank you to you and your team for looking after me so well! I was very grateful!

I discovered Chill after signing up to a women's only bike repair workshop. As someone who relies on their bike everyday for transport, I know nothing about repairing my bike in case of an emergency. The team at Chill offered an intimate experience, teaching us how to change our tubes. The patience of the instructors was refreshing, and so was their attitude towards helping women! My friend and I had such a good time at the event and both agreed we'd be bringing our bikes to Chill whenever we need help. It was such a fun event and even better to leave with the confidence to change my own tyre!

Attended the 'Women's Bike Maintenance Workshop' at chill and it was excellent! Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, patient and happy to answer all my questions. I feel like I came away with really valuable knowledge and am better able to carry out some basic maintenance tasks now. Will definitely go back here and hope they put more workshops on.

Had my pram in for flat tyres. Staffs were very kind and welcoming, but I think charging 20 dollars for good inspection and putting the air in is a bit too much, not to mention that I wasn't informed of the "minimal labor fee" prior. Probably would't go back for another service.

Great service from this little bike shop. I've had both my bikes overhauled here and they've done a great job for a good price. They even gave me some free pads for my helmet when I mentioned that I'd lost mine. Thank you!

Awesome service great bike selection lovely Stu!

Lovely staff, easy location and definitely the cheapest around for the quality and selection of bikes they have on offer. Could not praise vintage peddled enough.
Thank you.

My fiancé and I went to this place to hire out bikes for a couple hours. The lady that was there was so helpful in choosing a bike right for each of us and even helped me learn to ride mine! You don't always get that kind of service.

Took my bike to get a flat tyre fixed, reasonable price and gave my bike a few little touch ups which was very appreciated!

Amazing, friendly and incredibly helpful team. Would highly recommend for all your bike and snow needs!

Helpful and friendly staff. Hired 2 gravel/touring bikes for a day for $150. The lady gave us lots of ideas for routes in the area. Thanks for a lovely day :)

Good and friendly staff, got me sorted out on a bike that would fit me properly (I'm 6'5" and accidentally booked a small bike online). The experience was ruined a little bit by getting two flats in about an half an hour, which they changed for me. They threatened to charge me for the new tubes but ultimately didn't because the reason I got a second flat was because they didn't check the wheel properly for the bit of glass that caused the first flat.

Great place for bike rental. Excellent service and very friendly staff.

Great service from Nicole, friendly and knowledgeable when sitting out some bike accessories and have some great pointers for MTB in the area.

Experienced and happy staff. Fixed bike with minimal fuss, pricing very reasonable.

Stu hired me his personal Schwin Brighton, a supremely comfortable and stylish gentleman's bike. These guys are super-friendly and uber-helpful, full of suggestions if you want advice on where to ride. Christchurch is flat, the bike lanes, parks and squares mean that biking is a great way to get around. I found motorists were courteous, not always so in NZ. Highly recommended!

I’d definitely recommend Chill if you’re a tourist looking for a bike to tackle one of the Christchurch cycleways. Our group of four hired bikes from Chill so that we could explore the Avon River Trail.
The owner made sure we all had a suitable bike, adjusted seats etc so everything was just right, fitted us for helmets, and made sure we were riding confidently and knew the route before sending us on our way.
It’s only a short ride through the very bike-friendly city of Christchurch and past a great playground (Margaret Mahy Playground) before you hit the trail which follows the Avon River and takes you through the residential red zone. This is pretty interesting - it’s the bit where all the houses have been demolished because the land was declared unsuitable for building after the 2011 earthquakes. Now it’s all just parkland, and all the trees and shrubs were once in gardens... you can’t drive through it, but on a bike you have it all to yourself.
Dealing with Chill was easy and pleasant, the bikes and helmets were in excellent condition, and Christchurch is so easy on a bicycle - give them a go :)
