Super friendly staff. Great bikes. We rented the e-mountain bikes. Feels like cycling still but with +100 to fitness. Suspension was great for the tracks. Battery was still at >50% after just under 4 hours and we had pedal assist on high the entire time. Bikes were still like. Highly recommend if you are considering. We went on a day forcast for horrible weather and it was just windy. (Pretty hardcore wind though)

Hired e-bike for 4 hours through online booking. It was easy to book online and got confirmation quickly. They are easy to locate using map. They have lots of parking space available near shop. Bikes were in good condition and came with a puncture-kit and helmet as well. Ride itself to Pencarrow and Baring head lighthouse was enjoyable and easy. Loved the views. Staff is friendly, we got acknowledged quickly and was able to locate our booking with ease. Highly recommended. Overall, I loved the cycling experience and will hire bikes again. 5/5

First time on an e bike and riding out to lighthouses by myself. The staff were so knowledgeable, helpful and reassuring. Set me up great. WAS SO MUCH FUN...had a blast!!!!!!!

If you are in the Wellington area and looking for something active to do, this is the place to visit. Very friendly and helpful staff, good selection of bikes and helmets and beautiful route to the Pencarrow lighthouse.

The guy was really friendly and helpful ajusting the bike so it was at best comfort for me. The ride itself out to Pencarrow is really lovely and easy. We hired bikes for 2 hours which was a nice amount of time but also would have been good for more exploring if we'd gone for the longer time. I'd suggest 4hrs for exploring and some time for lunch with beautiful surroundings :)

The best customer service I have had in a long long time. Firstly the trains in Wellington were cancelled so we couldn't get out with our bikes to start the trail, Wildfinder came to get pick us up instead. They even had a quick look at our bikes and fixed the gears on one of the bikes. Offered very convenient luggage transfer that was very out of their way as we were staying on the doc campsite. And finally when we were exhausted on the final day dropped us the last few km to the ferry! All and all very friendly, go above and beyond and really made our experience of the trail. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Loved the ebike rental and the ride along the ocean without any cars and almost no people. There is a small area with sewage smell on the trail but was still a great time. My bikes chain squeaked but otherwise was fine. Love the electric bike experience.

The man was so friendly! We booked super last minute and he was still able to accomodate us as it was a slow day. We booked for 2 hours, but he was happy for us to stay out a little longer and explore. The bikes were great, but I’d probably go for an electric bike next time just because I’m weak 😂

Amazing experience using ebikes and cycling around the bay and up to the lighthouse. Our only regret is that we only booked for two hours - we could have easily used four hours to explore more, and stop for a more relaxed lunch. Definitely will return! Staff were friendly and helpful. And the shop is close to a new plant-based food truck which topped off a fantastic day!

Lovely cycle ride down to the lighthouses. There's three to see plus amazing black swans on the lakes down there. Hired our bikes from the Bike Shed. Really helpful and friendly staff. Great service and knowledge. Mostly flat going but will come back for the Rimutuka Cycle Trail circuit soon.

We went over on the ferry from Wellington yesterday and then rung the BikeShed from Days Bay. We were told to get the bus to the end of the road past Eastbourne which we did (the kind bus driver didn't charge the $5 fare!). We hired 2 E mountain bikes for 4 hours. It was a spectacular day with blue skies and no wind. We got out to baring head lighthouse and back within 3 hours and a few stops. Not bad for a couple in their 50's and for me i havent ridden bike for years (just very saddle sore afterwards! ) . Loved the ebike assisted riding options making up hill a breeze.. a fantastic day and so worth $65 each and helpful and friendly staff.

Stopped in to ask about hiring 2 bikes with 2 baby/toddler seats. Told to do it online to ensure we got our bookings as they have very limited number of toddler seats - fair enough. Did the booking online for the next day 12pm-4pm got there at 11.55pm ready to go, noticing a lot of people standing around and not a lot of bikes and none with toddler seats attached. Finally get to talk to staff at 12.15pm to be told the seats were hired out and they won’t be back till 1.30pm at the earliest! We have a 2 and 3 yo standing there waiting - you really think they going to be cool waiting for an hour and half ?! Plus we have plans later that day hence the time we hired .. got a full refund. My husband rang the owner / operator we believe who also offered $100 comp but we only took $50 to pay for the gas we’d used to make the trip. He also offered vouchers as well which we have received. I hope you invest in more baby seats to ensure this doesn’t happen again I doubt you get what it’s like to have young children not comprehend why we aren’t doing what was planned. Bookings should trump walk in or even if your running late .. Update- the business owner has really tried his best to make this right for us so I’ve changed it from 2 stars to 4. I’ve never had a business try and make a wrong so right so am happy with their resolution process.

staffs super friendly and helpful. The bike ride was pleasant but the gravel road has some big dips. On the way back it was sooo crazy windy we had to stop and walk the bike at some parts. Next time def getting the eBikes!!! duh-!

The service at Wildfinder was excellent. Hired a bike, hired the bike helmet. Loved it. They took the time, to make sure it was all systems go. 10 out 10 from me.

Really excellent service from Noah. Bike was great condition and easy to ride. Came with puncture repair kit with thankfully was not needed. Great way to enjoy the costal views of Pencarrow.

They were closed on a Sunday and I called up at least 4 different numbers and left a voicemail but couldn't get to anyone. Finally ended up walking 16 Kms instead of cycling. Book in advance, they might have good bikes, who knows? Not me at least. Edit - Been here again after two years and managed to get someone on the phone. There was a good 40 minute wait from the advertised opening time of 10am. I guess it was because we didn't make a booking early on. The bikes were hardtails and pretty used. They did the job, so no huge complaints there. Will have to check out their days Bay shed bikes.

The Bike Shed at Pencarrow is the best! Really friendly staff and the e-bikes were so much fun, we spent two hours cycling around the coast, past the lakes and up to the lighthouse, the e-bike function made the hills so much easier will definitely be going again!

Got a voucher a while back from grabone. Bikes were lots of fun and in great condition. Perfect idea for a sunny day and not too demanding fitness wise.
