We had just finished Old Ghost Road and was headed towards Wellington shortly after. We wanted to get our bikes checked before we crossed over from Picton to Wellington and we were VERY HAPPY with the SERVICE, KNOWLEDGE, and EXPERTISE ALL STAFF had for us when we headed into the store. We called upon arrival to see if they had time to fit us within their busy day of getting a lot of other bikes in and out of the shop on the same day. There were a few things we were unsure of with regards to our bikes, and we were very fortunate for the service and education we got from all staff members. We picked up a few bits and bobs at the shop and were thankful to find exactly what we were looking for! When we are back in Nelson, we know the bike shop of our choice! Thanks for going above and beyond during our experience at The Bike Station. ALSO SERVES COFFEE AS AN ADDED BONUS!

The team at The Bike Station are outstanding. Finally took the leap to an ebike, shopped around and came back to them because of the great deal and awesome follow up service I know they give. Love keeping it local and supporting Nelson owned and operated businesses that I know are in for the long haul and give awesome follow up service.

Help ! We needed help and bike station gave us HELP. Our adult daughter’s bike tilted off the bike rack on highway 6 and needed work because the tire shredded and the rim scrapped up badly. This was 23 December! We needed work on this european road bike and quick. Checking sources, and thinking hard with replacement parts, bike station came up With creative solutions and quickly! Amazing dedication to bikes and to customers! Thank you.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I had an accident on my Tour of Aotearoa ride and they fixed my bike the same day despite being quite busy before weekend. They even shipped my damaged parts to another city so I could claim warranty later.

Fantastic bike shop! We happily bought my son's bike there after Brendon took the time to clearly explain and show us all the details of the bike. I also go there for my Friday coffee treat. They make great coffee. And in winter there is a beautiful fire roaring. A great place with great service (-:

Over the years The Bike Station has set our whole family up with bikes, we called in one day to look at bikes for the kids and found the service so amazing that we just kept going back there. Nothing is ever a problem and hubby enjoys the banter with the guys. Be careful though, you might go in for a hardtail and walk out with an EBike and then find you really love being out on your bike.

I've taken my bike to the team at The Bike Station a few times during the past couple of years. I've always been super impressed by their customer service. I didn't buy my bike from them (and they don't even stock the brand) but they've always taken great care of my bike. They know how hard it is for us MTB addicts to live without our bikes and make sure it's always back as soon as possible! When a big service took longer than expected this year they lent me a replacement bike until my bike was out of the shop. Thanks guys!

Genuinely helpful and attentive service. Only a small purchase with a decent bike mounted pump. Good product knowledge and took the time to explain the comparative features. First out of five shops to do so.

Outstanding service from Caleb and the team. My ebike chain snapped on Christmas day causing more serious damage to other parts of the bike. The mechanics had all the parts replaced and the bike back up and running on boxing day morning within 40 minutes! Highly recommend these guys for all your biking needs 👌

These folks are friendly, informative, serviced our bikes well, make a really good coffee (with A2 milk) and seem to run a shop that the employees enjoy working at. They also have a comfortable couch in front of a fire that you can drink your coffee by and even take some time out to read a biking magazine or your book whilst the crew work and have interesting conversations around you. Great local, family owned business.

We’ve just passed through Nelson on the Tour Aotearoa, where we were advised that we should get our two bikes serviced. We called Bike Station as we crossed the Cook Straight the day before and our bikes were immediately prioritised for as soon as we had completed the Maungatapu saddle the next day. Both bikes required chain and cable changes and one needed a crank set change. Both bikes were turned around in a few hours and all of the work was completed professionally at a great price and the work done was explained simply on collection. We can’t thank the Bike Station team enough for a top level service that should see us through to the end of the tour!

My wife and I spent a fair bit of time talking to the team at The Bike Station in regards to mountain bikes for our boys. The customer service was awesome and we enjoyed talking to the team there. There was never any pressure and even our silliest queries were answered thoroughly. We since bought 2 bikes and have been more than happy with the after sales support etc. A great team and a great experience (nice coffee too!) This is an awesome bike shop! The guys here really made a huge effort to get me the bike I was looking for. I hung out in the shop having a good laugh with the crew while everything was getting organised, they even invented me out riding with them to try out my new whip.i would highly recommend going down and grabbing a coffee, getting some advice and supporting an awesome local bike shop.

Incredible good shop. We just pop it to get an spoke replaced and wasn’t any problem. Next day needed a thread fixed as well straight away. Their coffee is as well very good. Last but not least: the stuff is absolutely honest and lovely. Thanks again

This was my first time with The Bike Station and I what I found there was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. My commuter bike needed a fair amount of servicing and the team there did it perfectly. Great communication as well keeping me informed of when my bike would be ready. Definitely going back!

Ive recently started using Bike Station and bought new MTB tyres and got some advice on a new rear wheel and been really impressed by their customer service. So few, if any, bike shops in Nelson region really take the time with you and I often am made to feel slightly stupid by these other shops because of my lack of knowledge. Bike station dont do this. Their knowledge is great and they dont make me feel small when i ask them simple questions. Ill be using them from now on.

I purchased my E bike from the bike station nelson . The team were fantastic to deal with so helpful and willing to give me a test ride etc,. I could not have been treated better with a great trade on my existing bike. So happy with my new bike and happy to recommend these guys to anyone needing a new cycle. Tom Harvey

Nice local bike shop. Helpful owners, I believe some sales staff need help due to trying to charge for a flat tire. Even after I explained it was flat on purchase. But was sorted very fast. Maybe I'm having a bad day though not my problem.

Excellent service! They totally understood our needs and offered us two second-hand bikes, which were exactly what we wanted. It's the only shop in town with several second-hand bikes. The guys were friendly and really efficient.

We have purchased 2 E bikes and are thoroughly impressed with the knowledge and service offered by the staff. Our experience with this store has been outsanding. We are a retired couple who have now found our love for biking again since riding these amazing bikes. Cannot reccommend them enough!

Run by good people who know what they are doing, came in without notice with some bike problems and only a few hours later it was ready for pickup. They identified the problems and had the skills to fix it. Would highly recommend this shop.

The folk at the Bike Station are approachable, friendly and very helpful. They truly love bikes and if you're a cycle nerd yourself, you can enjoy some good bike chat. Oh, they make really good coffee too.

I thoroughly recommend The Bike Station if you are intending to purchase a bike. I have had amazing and enthusiastic help from Brendon when purchasing my E Bike. His knowledge about the bikes helped me decide that what he had in store was just what we were looking for and I absolutely love the bike. Their back up service is great and I would absolutely recommend them.

Staff there is very on to it and knowledgeable . Could help me directly with my mtb. Background I ride mtbs for many years and do maintenance myself, had some trouble when I was in Nelson and they were able to help me with ease in a professional way. Can only recommend.

Great job sorting my dura ace disk brakes on my road bike (as I had no brakes), quickly and excellent value. And the icing was that the young and "older" guys all knew their stuff and had the passion!

Update: Much of your response is valid. Although there is a fair bit of gilding the lily! However, as a human I took exception to the somewhat Jekyll and Hyde nature of the various responses I received - sometimes ignored; initially warmly greeted to be followed by a sharp when are you going to buy something? - I can understand the frustration but would have expected and appreciated a more reasoned and reasonable response/treatment. My original review was emotional but it was a measure of how emotionally provoked I felt at the J&H treatment. At the end of the day I took my business elsewhere. Original: Nice face, shame about the boat race! I rocked up to this shop uncertain of what I exactly wanted. So, needed some patience and guidance. Yes, the staff are first up very friendly but collectively they had reached a verdict that I was a tyre kicker and started to give me the bums rush! Finally, I had decided the Merida bike I wanted and their attitude cost them a sale - no that version isn’t available in NZ in your size, no another version is not available at all in NZ 🤣- meanwhile, across at Kelvins Cycles, within 5 minutes of walking in the door I had ordered the model I wanted, no wocking furries! 🤣

Checked out four local shops. Bike station have been awesome. Good advice. Excellent knowledge. They don't try and sell you stuff you don't need. Quick turn around on repairs and fair prices.

Was in Nelson doing the taste trail on our ebikes and had a few issues. Took my bike into these guys and they sorted it quickly. Explained a few things without making us both feel stupid. Would be happy to go there again next time we are in Nelson.

I took my nearly 4 year old grandson in for a bike and we took home a sturdy but light pedal bike with handbrakes, chain guard and trainer wheels. Already competent on his balance bike Lloyd asked dad to remove his trainer wheels 6 days later, and then surprised the whole family by riding up slopes and cruising over bumps! Strongly recommended... get your kid a bike they're gonna LOVE riding!

The owners are very friendly and helpful with great advice about local riding conditions. With a roaring log fire and great coffee this is an awesome place for repairs and sales or just a chat about bikes.
