J.The best butcher in Auckland with a good variety of meat and other premium deli products. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of sausages. Though they have won many awards, the price is not very high and in fact cheaper than Countdown and other supermarkets.
L.My favourite butcher and there’s not really many of them around these days with all the supermarkets. Awesome selection, quality and friendly service. I love their special marinated chicken packs, so versatile. Lots of good cooking tips and the bay leaves on the counter are a great touch!
a.Easiest way to turn a barbecue into a gourmet experience - the chicken & truffle sausages, the beef& blue cheese sausages and the mini kofta were delicious, just served with a simple green salad. What a find!

E.Excellent butcher, very helpful, friendly and has a great range at a brilliant price. Highly recommend. If they don’t have what you want out it’s likely they have it out the back so just ask. Try the Goan sausages (for an instant curry), the pork and fennel sausages (amazing) or any of the meat – always buy our Sunday roast here.

E.They’ve got these “extra spice” versions of their Goan sausages that taste exactly like the ones I remember from Goa. Owners are very helpful and friendly.
For those who haven’t had Goan sausages before, Goa is in India but the food is influenced by the Portuguese. Goa is famous for their sausages which are an acidic and spicy smoked pork sausage and taste like ‘nduja or a more flavourful chorizo but eaten cooked.
Here’s my favourite recipe to get the full punch of the sausages. If that’s too strong for you then you can dilute the spice down by adding other vegetables, rice or lentils.
Recipe:
1 large onion sliced thickly
2 agria potatoes, chopped
2 Grey Lynn butcher extra spice Goan sausages, slides into 2 inch pieces
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1-2 green chillies if you want it hot or extra hot (optional), chopped or thickly sliced if you want the option of picking them out
1/4-1/2 cup water depending on how much gravy you want it to have
1/2 tsp salt
Cooked white rice to serve
Method:
Sauté the sliced onions. Add rest of the ingredients and pressure cook for 1-2 whistles. Or you can also pan fry it with a lid on till the potatoes are cooked.
That’s my favourite way to eat them to get the full spicy flavour of the sausages :)

K.Awesome butchers, they helped me with meat for my partners big birthday party for which I had to feed 70 people. Eddie was great and helped me organize pork and lamb spit roast meat. Everyone was well feed and loved the meats. Looking forward to doing next spit roast now.

A.This butcher has a fantastic selection and very skilled butchers who are extremely helpful and friendly. I would recommend only buying their freshly cut or packaged products though. I have found that their vacuum packed products frequently taste spoiled despite being well before their expiry. They taste as though they have gone bad. This happened with 1 X dry cured bacon, 1x lamb rump, 1 pack of 2 sirloin steak (which were ineddible), and 1 of 3 baby back ribs that I bought. All up over 50% of the vacuumed sealed meats that I've bought there have been tainted. I won't buy their meats in vacuumed packs any longer. Their fresh meats are fantastic and keep well in the fridge for as long as they indicate on their printed labels. I should add I have a science degree and monitor my fridge temperature so I am very confident this isn't spoiling at home.
G.The lady there is always friendly, and their meat is great quality. Mince is very lean and $2 cheaper per kg than supermarket. Sausages are made in-house and are also very good quality.
