J.Big parking lot where people sell their cars or campervan. Plenty of choice if you want to have a look around as a buyer. As a seller you really have to be lucky, the right buyer is there. I sold my car within two hours!
R.I bought and sold my van at the Auckland City Car Fair. Both times, it was a really straightforward process. The selection isn't as big as the Ellerslie car fair, but there seems to be only people selling their own cars/vans, not dealers trying to make a buck. As a seller, I sold the van within the first hour of arriving at the lot. To be fair, the couple had seen my post on facebook and were expecting to see me there, but it was still really nice not losing a whole morning. The guy who runs it was really helpful with the transaction, producing the necessary documents and walking us through where we would need to go to officiate the transfer (sorry for walking off with your pen). It cost $30 to put up the van for sale, but the actual sale is free, and there's no cost for buyers (aside from the cost of the car, of course).
V.Went to sell a campervan for friends. Plenty of interested people and made quick sale. Very pleased. Small fair but was busier than the fair I went to on Sunday. Glad I gave this one a try and will come back next time.
H.Came here on April 20, there were about 40 vehicles, mostly campervans and then a number of camper cars and wagons. We used the fair as more of a place to show our wagon to several people that we had been communicating with via Facebook Marketplace. We ended up selling to a couple that had seen the vehicle online then came to view it. There were very, very few buyers and a handful of dealers as well, but they didn't seem too interested in most of the vehicles there. So, we came away happy but I believe at around 12pm we might have had the only sale of the day so far...

T.(Translated) The car market takes place every Saturday in Auckland. Private individuals as well as dealers can offer their cars. The size is manageable - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. There are many German sellers and buyers on site. We found the right car for us, but I think too often cars that are almost 30 years old are being offered for outrageous prices.
In the parking lot, you can have a "check" carried out by a car mechanic (Mr. Paul Rall) before buying. Thus, the first major defects can be excluded.

Der Automarkt findet jeden Samstag in Auckland statt. Es können Privatleute, sowie Händler ihre Autos anbieten. Die Größe ist überschaubar - was nicht unbedingt schlecht ist. Es sind viele deutsche Ver- und Käufer vor Ort. Wir haben das passende Auto für uns gefunden aber ich finde es werden zu oft teilweise fast 30 Jahre alte Autos für unverschämte Preise angeboten.
Auf dem Parkplatz, kann man vor dem Kauf einen "Check" durch einen Automechaniker (Mr. Paul Rall) vornehmen lassen. Somit können erste größere Mängel ausgeschlossen werden.

There were few buyers there and for the many part age old vans, which were not sold, I was really sorry. But you know that before, if you want to sell in autumn. Many tried to sell well before (1.5 months) the end of the trip ... we had luck and eloquence. You should also appeal to the buyers, that works wonders.
All in all, friendly staff and you can register in the corner. Well central. We did not use the paul rall mechanic service.

Wir kauften hier unseren family van Mitte Februar und haben ihn auch wieder verkauft in der off season ende april. Es waren wenig käufer da und für die vielen teils uralten vans, die nicht verkauft wurden, tat es mir echt leid. Aber das weiß man vorher, wenn man im herbst verkaufen will. Viele versuchten schon weit vor (1,5 monate) ende der reise zu verkaufen... wir hatten glück und redegewandheit. Man sollte die käufer auch ansprechen, das wirkt wunder.
Alles in allem freundliches personal und registrieren kann man un die ecke. Gut zentral gelegen. Den paul rall mechanic service haben wir nicht in anspruch genommen.
