I was in the market to upgrade my trusty Mazda Familia and John Andrew Mazda Grey Lynn was was my first port of call.
From the moment I stepped onto the showroom floor, I was welcomed by Taron.
It can be rather daunting when up close to these beautifully designed, shiny new cars. Where to start?! There is a lot to take in, but Taron was brilliant at guiding me through the range and different trims available in each model. He listened to my needs and throughout the following week I test drove the CX-5 and CX-30 at length so that I could really get to know these two models. I also visited other showrooms and test drove other cars to compare, however this was really a process of elimination. For me it was Mazda hands down and I settled on the CX-30.
It’s a big decision buying brand new for the first time. It certainly helps when you have a competent salesperson that you feel you can trust.
In fact all the staff there were really helpful, and gave me advice to help me make up my mind.
Once I’d made the decision, the rest was easy. It was a busy week but the team put an urgent to the workshop so I could have my brand new car (with roof rack installed) in time for the long weekend. Taron even came in on his day off for the handover. Sophie was also on hand, she has a lot of experience and made sure everything was covered. What a fabulous experience! I am so happy with my CX-30, I love it! Thanks Taron.

After a terrible experience with haval i decided to check out Mazda in Grey Lynn. Top notch service from entering the dealership to leaving with my new car. Zero pressure sales and they let the cars speak for themselves. These are trained professionals that know what the customer wants. 5 star service and 5 star car.

To set the tone - we intended to start the leg work on which 2021 new hybrid we would buy and spend no more than $35K once we decided. We visited Mazda, Toyota and Mitsubishi. After 2 weekend's and not really in a rush - we brought from John Andrew Mazda a 2021 MX-30 Limited and spent $47K!
Why, well on the first weekend and our first stop we arrived at Mazda - their sales staff where all dealing with customers and super busy, but they took the time to approach me straight away and ask if I wanted to look at a specific vehicle, offered coffee or tea while we waited and they would try to make themselves available soonest. We had limited time so I booked in a test drive for the following weekend. We drove straight to Toyota and my wife as was interested in their Hybrid - no customers and 2 sales staff but not a single movement to ask if we wanted to look at anything. My wife then approached the salesman who [with little interest] ran us through the car and that was it. We thanked him and then drove to Mitsubishi - same thing there!
What happened at John Andrew Mazda the following weekend was Roland talked to us about who the MX-30 might be meant for and the purpose behind the concept - his manner was calming and informative NOT sales speak. Taking it for a drive and the usual discussion around the cost and financing with Lyle, meant that our decision was based on how he factored in what we wanted that finance to look like. Once we knew it was done, Sophie went through the process of how the vehicle would be released to us and it was like we were purchasing a Bentley. The entire process with Roland/Lyle/Sophie was non invasive, informative and pleasant! We were just ordinary people who had the ability to buy and we decided to buy that day because of the experience we had with this group of people. Exceptional really....even though we brought on the 14th Aug - Lockdown was the 17th Aug and with great hope I can pick up our new MX-30 on the 16th Sept if we drop to L3 Lockdown. I wont change from Mazda ever - and I don't even have my car yet!

We recently bought a Mazda CX-9 from John Andrews. We dealt with Sophie Mo and honestly the experience has been amazing. The team there really do care about their customers and want to make sure that every experience is a special one. We couldn’t get our car due to level 4 and Sophie was regularly texting me and updating me on the status! One of the only places where I didn’t need to be the one to chase up to get a status update! My husband & I needed to replace a car that was starting to cost too much in maintenance so we visited several different dealers over a few weekends where we were either not approached at all, or approached but felt like we were brushed off. But at John Andrew Mazda, Roland approached us while we were looking at the cars in the yard, even in the rain! When we explained what we were looking for, Roland took the time to go through stock, look at options and he didn't do the hard sell but listened to what we needed and helped us fill that gap, he was very knowledgeable and excellent and helping me understand the different cars and features. I suppose if anyone else asked the questions Roland asked, they could have sold us a car in the previous weeks. In the end we bought a brand new CX-5 on the spot paying over and above our budget because the finance made sense and worked in our favour. Then we went into lockdown, and Sophie and Jessica were great at communicating throughout the weeks with paperwork, answering any questions I had, sending me links to information I needed on add on products. Even organising contactless pick up at level 3 was a breeze! Roland and Sophie were there to ensure everything went smoothly, kept in contact on the phone while I was there, and followed up a few days after pick up. I would definitely recommend John Andrew Mazda if you're looking to buy a car, and they will be my first stop next time I need a car.

Venki, Lyle, Sophie and the team were very helpful with the purchase of my new Mazda CX3. I walked into John Andrew about 5 weeks ago, slumped that my car had just been written off. Thankfully to Venki, he was able to snatch up the very last (for the next few months) like for like vehicle, while it was on the vessel. As stock issues continue to rise, my choices were very slim.
Once the decision was made to purchase, Lyle and Sophie made the process super quick and easy and reassured any doubts I had. They also answered all my questions without hesitation and were willing to help out where possible.

Purchased a vehicle which was regularly serviced by these guys and was also just given a new 12 month WOF.
Next day I noticed oil on my carpark..Called previouse owner and was advised he was never made aware of this by mazda grey lynn.. advised to contact mazda grey lynn as they should take full responsibilty for this.
I called these guys and was told someone will call me back within 2 hrs..never got a call back so i called them back and spoke with a staff memeber who wasn't really helpfull and not willing to listen to what i had to say.
I asked to speak with a manager..guy said ok and went to have a chat with the manager..comes back and says ok il transfer you now..puts me through but goes to vm!!..after awhile I got a call back from Simonè, the manager who agreed to have the car checked on the same day..toke the car in..manager was polite and professional. Car gets checked, after awhile manager and the mechanic comes back to me saying its the oil cooler which has been leaking.. and it would cost $1012.93 to repair. I said shouldnt this had been checked at the time of WOF. Mechanic says we are not going to pay for this because this is not part of the wof check and would have not been leaking at the time. Clearly it would was because there is so much oil at the bottom of the engine. Yet mechanic says its dangerouse if not fixed!!

I bought my 2018 SP25 from John Andrew Grey Lynn in Oct-18. The sales rep. and service was great, but I was not quite sure about the workshop.
I was offered to install weather shields and when I drove in from Onehunga a week after and expected to wait for an hour, and then service department got back to me and advised that weather shields were out of stock, and asked me to return the following week! Quite unbelievable eh? They should have advised me at least a day before to save me from traffic!
Another minor issue about the workshop that I forgot to mention from my initial review is that the car appeared no grooming at all since my test drive (before the sale). Some coffee stains (or the likes) on the gear box; grass debris and sands were still on the floor mat. The workshop appeared too busy to clean after counting money :P

The servicing department is honest and doesn’t overcharge. One thing they could improve on is the number of courtesy cars, or lack there of, as I forgot to reserve one and there were none left.

Got our CX-9 from JAM for our business, dealt with both Marama (from Fleet sales) and Alex (sales consultant). Both were very professional even through the long delays with the leasing process (not their fault). They even allocated overnight test drives and also a loaner vehicle for 1 week while I waited for my car to be ready.
The showroom is clean and very modern, I felt comfortable and welcomed.
The other sales consultants that I dealt with was the only disappointment with service. Their jokes and conversation were too awkward and 'typical sales' guy type.
Too early to say how their after-service is like. Buying a new car is definitely long-term journey so I will be updating this when the time comes for service, repairs and maintenance.
However, I look forward to experiencing other Mazda vehicles for both business and personal use with JAM soon.

I've had good service here before, although the waits can be long. But today I was kept waiting for over half and hour just to get a recheck for my warrent sticker for two new tyre, nothing more. I told them I had dogs in the car, so the mechanic shifted the car around the corner where I couldn't see it and it. After another 15min I went around to find it and the dogs and nothing happening. So disappointed. I stood in the service area until I got the sticker and could leave. . I also found that pitstop will change the gearbox oil for $75 less. That's a big difference for me. I would rather pay less, wait less, and do without the carwash and extra glam stuff. Unfortunately sometime we have to use them as only they have the computer technology to work on some parts of the car, like the seatbelt light that wouldn't go off. Very expensive to fix and no one else can do it.I appreciate the apology and offer of amends.

I visited service on Monday 25 th of March to replace a side mirror.
I asked the receptionist ( I don't know her name , but I haven't seen her before ) how long it's gonna take. I was a very specific about timing because I had my dog with me. She said it's gonna take maximum 1.5 hours.
I spent 1 hour in Western Park. Came back in 1.5 hours. When I asked another receptionist ( name Elyssa Monson ) how far till my car is ready, she said that mechanic hasn't finished yet and it will be ready only after 2 pm. She didn't even asked the mechanic about time !!!
I had to walk home with my overheated dog. It took me 30 min. When I came back home I received voice message on my phone from the service that my car is ready. The call was made in 10 min after I left Mazda office. If your lazy receptionists cared about customer's time I would give you 5 stars reviews.
I had to cool my dog for 20 min from the heat, get the Uber and pic my car up instead of just stay at the service for 10 min.

Good and bad, Low battery for my car keys and car, they carried out a long time of maintenance (because there are too many vehicles they need to take care of this may be the cause of kept me waiting for a long time!) but the result is good. bad for their ask fee to me, I think this is a mistake, they said expired for car maintenance, It's not!so that is why before detection problem to charge to me and I want to charge $135 or more, in fact I pay the $18.
