Recently purchased a car through Chris at Dave Allen Motors. He was awesome to deal with. He wasn't pushy, he let us take as much time as we needed to go over & think about the car. When it came time to actually purchasing the car, both Chris & Shelley were great to deal with & so friendly & helpful. The team at Dave Allen are EXCEPTIONAL. We purchased a vehicle sight unseen under finance and had it delivered 4 hours away to our door. They made the whole process easy as pie and super enjoyable. This place is top rated in Hamilton for a reason. Full marks across the board on service, Chris and the sales team were very helpful and accommodating answering any questions I had and assisting me every step of the way. The mechanical team also deserves praise for their professionalism, courtesy (And for rescuing me a couple of times when things went wrong) Bought a 2009 Mark X Zio Wagon that had an undiagnosed alternator problem and they were extremely efficient getting it fixed, so you can rest assured if anything goes wrong they'll do anything they can to fix it. All in all it was a completely hassle free experience, I have no hesitation in recommending Dave Allen and will definitely be buying my next car here.

I have had my car for almost a week now and I am absolutely thrilled with it. Chris was so helpful in getting everything organised, even met me at the airport with my future car. As I didn't know my way around Hamilton Chris also took my for a drive showing how to get out of town the easy way and on to the Expressway so I could make my way home. Shelly was so helpful with all the paperwork and reminding me to get my insurance sorted before I drove away and explaining the Autosure Insurance warranty on the car. Absolutely fantastic service. I bought a car about 4 or 5 weeks ago and it was so simple, from the finance application to picking it up. The service is second to none and I would recommend to anyone wanting to buy a car. Chris was absolutely fantastic and went through the vehicle with me when I picked it up to show me all the features, tyre pressure, petrol, how the radio expander worked. Very knowledgeable guy and friendly. He even arranged to get a tow bar fitted before pick-up. When I had to go back a couple of days ago to point out a couple of things that were loose, I was offered a courtesy car for the day and left my car in Chris's capable hands, and picked it up later all sorted. Shellie was fantastic at helping to arrange the payments to come out on a specific date each month and I can't rave about the whole team enough. Will definitely be going back when I need another car.

With the purchase of a Subaru Outback for the family the team at Dave Allen were outstanding. I was only in Hamilton for the night and they took the car fresh off the boat and dirty, with the overseas radio still installed had it fully serviced, stereo swapped and it ready to go in just over half a day even put in a rear backing camera hooked to the new screen. Without saying anything they were also offering to have paint touched on the boot next time i was in town as it was "Not Good Enough" for sale from their point of view (so newly painted boot as well). There was 2 minor issues that came up in the first 3 weeks 1) The passenger wing mirror would not auto open/close correctly, no questions just said to bring in the car (after confirming the mirror model number) and swapped out for a new one in about 10 minutes. 2) The battery was incorrectly sized for the car, again not a single push back told me to go to REPCO and get a new (correct) battery, i took a photo of the invoice and the reimbursement was in my account the next day. I have not had any issues outside of these 2 minor ones and the car is just perfect for the growing family. Thank you for all your help and the friendly attitude of your whole team

The only minor issue i had was that the car I bought had a Dave Allen sticker on the rear view mirror, despite the license frame already advertising their motor company. That really is just a minor issue though. Fantastic service with a helpful team. The staff at Dave Allen motors provide no-nonsense deals and see that you are satisfied with what you initially want. They did not try to sell me any thing I did not need. Just one payment and you get your car in a few days with a small amount of paperwork included.

My wife and I traveled up to Dave Allen Motors from Kapiti after seeing a Nissan Xtrail 2.5 for sale on the web. We arrived and we were promptly greeted by very friendly staff. We explained that we were interested in an Xtrail that was for sale and they immediately got the vehicle. We had all our questions answered promptly and then we were offered a test drive. Any issues were followed up and responded to quickly. We got the same good service from the different staff members we encountered. The best car dealership around! Firstly, they have the most looked after cars I've seen, but that's not just for show. They are a MTA Assured Dealership, each vehicle has a VTNZ Safety Certification, AA Appraisal Inspection, and odometer certification by (OIS) Odometer Inspection Services. Pick any car with your eyes closed! Secondly, they have the best staff! I can't thank Chris and Shellie enough for all the patience and help. I have a couple of things to thank for: 1) my old car has a transmission problem and even if Chris already knew what it was worth, he insisted he'd do things the right way, with all the paperworks and inspection. He even rang a transmission specialist to get a more accurate estimation of how much it'd cost to fix my car. We calculated from it, how much the trade in would be; 2) I had 3 cars (including the apple of my eyes, Accord) in mind before dropping by. He let me test drive all of them, answered all my questions honestly and patiently and made sure I was comfortable and safe; 3) I had a hard time choosing a car, because the Accord was such a temptation! But the Avensis ticked all the boxes. Shellie was very patient and very careful with her advice, making sure that the final decision is the best decision and is mine to make, not theirs. No pressure at all. She also explained every detail of the finance, all the possible options for me, and built a package for my individual needs 4) lastly but the most appreciated of all, my battery died while I was out grocery shopping. I was gonna call AA, but remembered Chris and Shellie telling me to ring if anything. So I called Chris instead. Now this was after hours, he was at home with his family, but he told me he's coming. Not a minute later, he was there, with his cute daughter, ready to help. We drove back to the the office, picked up a battery, went back to my car and he replaced my battery. All this in just half an hour. Better than AA! Thirdly, they are one of the few to offer a no deposit finance. I advise you find out how much you can/want to borrow first and also, bare in mind about what your repayments are gonna be. Shellie can help explaining this. They are very flexible and patient. I just think it's easier for everyone if you already know your budget and limitations. Lastly, they also offer a mechanical and electrical insurance and would go lengths to assist as mentioned earlier. Biggest thanks to Chris again! Overall, I very much highly recommend Dave Allen 🤩 I have to mention too, all these happened in just 24 hours or so. What a journey!

Went to Dave Allen Motors looking for a new car. I was expecting a pushy salesman (my experience of other car sales yards), but what a pleasant experience I had. When I first walked in no one leapt out straight away trying to sell me something. After just the right amount of time Chris came over and introduced himself. He asked if I needed help I said I was looking to buy a certain car. He took me to the car and then asked about my needs and expectations of the car. I explained what I planned to do and my price range. He said he had other vehicles that I may be interested in and asked if he could show me those to help me make a good choice, I agreed. He showed me 4 or 5 other vehicles and told me the pro's and con's of each and compared them to the one I originally went to see which he said was a good car. They were all in the price range I had told him. I was able to make a good choice that suited all my needs without any feeling of being rushed or sold something that I didn't really need. He then took me in to meet Shellie who was awesome she arranged the finance for me and explained every little detail so I was clear on everything. She checked I was happy with what I was buying, that I clearly understood all the paper work and that I was happy to go ahead. I needed the car quite quickly wh ich they managed to do without making me feel like I was being a nuisance. I will be recommending them to all my friends when they are looking for another car. Chris and Shellie were great Shellie was terrific with organising the finance for the car, she explained things clearly so that l understood everything. Chris would have to be the best salesman that l have ever met, he answered all my questions and gave honest answers. He did not Sell me a car, he guided us through the process of finding the best car for our needs giving our family the type of purpose that we have (touring, moving around a lot and general stuff). I originally looked at the Subaru wagon which is a great car, Chris showed us through MPVs Golf wagons and sedans and the Toyota crown that we eventually bought. The whole process took 3 Hours plus. This was because we had to decide what was best for us. Chris, unlike a lot of salesmen who would have walked off as soon as they realised that we were going to be a while, stayed with us in the background helping where he could. Which showed me that me that l could and do trust him to be fair, honest and someone that was more interested in finding us the car for our needs and not dumping the yard s box to get rid of us. The best example of his and Dave Allen's commitment to us was after l drove away on picking up the car. I ran over a serious pot hope and onto the curb puncturing the front tyre (actually l took out both left tyres) as the tyre was still okay to drive on l drove back to the yard to get help (l was only a couple of streets away). As l arrived Chris and the mechanic came out saw the tyres and immediately Chris was on the phone to beaurepairs to source two replacement tyres then HE started fitting the spare and another tyre from one one the yard cars to the crown. My wife was upset l was mortified that l had pranged the car after five minutes. Chris was calming and focused on getting us on the road and to the airport for our flight home. No many if any other salesmen would be that customer focused. Chris put the two new tyres and the company account and Shellie is letting me pay them when l get paid in three weeks time. When it comes time to buy my next car l will not even think about going anywhere else. I would definitely recommend Dave Allen motors, Chris and Shellie they are a credit to the industry and to NZ

I looked at the vehicle (totally un-valeted) they said they could sort things out and they did. Picked up the vehicle three days later, with a toe-bar. Just one thing to fix was the display on the dash board (all in Japanese) we went around to a local dealer and it was fixed quickly. Saved me having to look around the Auckland dealers!
