Great place to get a secondhand car, the process happens online then they get you in to look over the car of your choice and test drive the rest is history. And if you have been referred by someone that has purchased a car previously then that person will receive $100 in petrol vouchers.

Very recomended second hand car dealership in wellington , they have a range of different vehicles lots to choose from , great price too for the vehicle , i bought a white Vw golf and i got it on a bargain compared to other second hand car dealerships , definitely coming back

After an $1800 repair bill for a WOF for my old car, I threw in the towel and decided it was time for a new car. I’d spent a few days by this point looking on Trade Me and Boycott but was apprehensive to commit as there are too many dodgy sellers and these, in turn give the genuine sellers a bad name. A friend of mine sent me the link for Clearance Cars and having my heart set on another twin turbo Subaru Legacy, I instinctively changed the listing order to lowest price first so I knew I’d view all cars within my budget. Needless to say, when a 6 seater Ford Falcon came up, my search stopped as I’ve been trying to find one for years. At that point the Subaru no longer mattered. Without any further thoughts to what I was doing, I sent my inquiry through and got a phone call from Pan almost immediately. I decided to try for finance and despite almost loosing it due to me messing up my income, it was resubmitted and approved. I’m in Napier so I packed the man child and kids into the Jazz at 5am and headed to Wellington to collect it. Naturally, I got us lost in the main city for 2 hours and was ringing every 5 minutes for bearings but staff laughed it off unfazed and we found our way in the end. Valuable lesson to invest in a Navman discovered. As I made my way into the showroom, I found staff very inviting, willing to help and invested in their customers. I made my way to my blind purchase for a final inspection and was informed by Pan that a new WOF and 3 months rego had just been done earlier in the week. True to Falcon form, I was greeted with the roar of the engine and the memories of the thunks and clanks of childhood from me stepfather’s old Falcon. The car drives very smoothly, is comfortable and very, very spacious. We stopped in Masterton to feed the sprogs and discovered that the remote batteries didn’t work and we couldn’t unlock with the key. New batteries fixed that problem. Can’t complain. New dash switches missing which I was informed of upon purchase but minor 'problems' to say the least. A week in and I am very, very happy with my purchase. Though upon looking at NZTS as I wanted a yearly cost for rego, it came back with an error that the vehicle is exempt from registration which make no sense to me as it had to go through the system to obtain both a current rego and WOF. I assume it’s a delay in processing ownership papers as they have yet to arrive due to covid so if one of the sales staff can contact me ASAP, that would be fantastic. Despite the ‘glitch in the Matrix’ my overall experience has been great. Thank you Clearance Cars!

I had initially a bad experience but things changed. Initially it was a Honda Jazz sport i wanted, but Jaden steered me away from due to it being not up to standard. Good call. I then took a 2004 suzuki swift home. It had some issues that caused it to almost stall when idling. They offered to foot an over $1000 repair bill privately, but I decided not to take advantage and not take risk on a car with that many issues. After some conversations Jaden agreed to exchange it for a 2006 honda fit. Tyler, an excellent young salesman with a very approachable demeanor showed me the honda fit. I really enjoyed his service! 5 stars from me! I live in kapiti and each time they have nearly filled up the car completely which was gas I needed to get home and excess! The finance team are a lovely bunch of ladies, both times I visited they were very kind and helpful, and enjoyed a laugh. I have also spoken with nick, the manager. He was very understanding and apologetic in my conversation regarding the Suzuki Swift, and okayed me on the exchange. Any issues with a vehicle they will be there to help. Just don't expect to barter on cars under 8k. Would I reccomend it? If you need a car on a budget then yes. But then again, they had some excellent choice of higher value vehicles too. Looking foward to a visit again in a few years. Just watch the pocket dials 🤣🤣😂

Highly impressed with the service we received at Trade in clearance. We initially dealt with Taylor who made purchasing a vehicle from afar a breeze. Unfortunately the vehicle we purchased was faulty however on contacting them a few days later to get the problem remedied Nick was very happy to help. They organised a truck to collect our car and then Covid struck again!! Nick was quick to try sort the problem when the country reopened unfortunately the vehicle couldnt be repaired but Trade in auto clearance replaced it the very next day. Kevin helped test drive vehicles and made sure the process went smoothly. Thanks again team!

Got a lovely car from them. But make sure you do your own due diligence before purchasing any vehicle. Its on you to make sure it is functioning as intended. Staff have been nothing but amazing to work with and helpful when I've had to bring my car in and get issues fixed post-sale. Amazing place, just be smart in your purchases!

Have recently bought a Renault Clio from these guys. There have been a couple of small issues with the car, but sometimes with Trade In cars that's what you get and noone knows until it happens. Can't speak highly enough of Kevin and Steve who between the two of them dealt with the issues professionally and allowed me to use courtesy cars in the meantime. Excellent follow up service, unlike some dealerships I've dealt with in Auckland. Thanks guys!

On Saturday I bought a lovely little Suzuki Swift from Trade In Clearance. I traded in my Mazda Demio to them and got about as much as I was expecting for it. The whole process was super easy. The only difficult bit was finding the perfect car when there are SO MANY cars here! I definitely recommend giving yourself a couple of hours here to look around. The salespeople are all very accommodating and the office people who complete the sales are professional and know what they're doing. On my car buying journey, I went to a few different places, one of which was a very uncomfortable, weird experience. It definitely did not feel like the kind of place you go to buy a reliable car. This bad experience showed me what I definitely did not want in a car or car salespeople. One of the things I like most about Trade In Clearance is that they're New Zealand owned and operated. The salespeople know what they're talking about and are easy to talk to about what you want and any concerns you have. The warrant on my new car was not completely up to date, so the salesman told me to come back later in the week and he would sort it out, which means I will get a whole year out of it. The warranty offered makes me feel safe, as if anything goes wrong with the car in the next 2 years, it's covered. A car is a big purchase but the option of a warranty takes some of the risk out of it. I definitely recommend Trade In Clearance. Next time I'm looking for a car, they will be one of my first stops. But for now, I love my new car and I'm hoping it will be a good, reliable car for me for the next few years.

Helpful staff and vehicles presented well considering they are all used trades. Prices reasonable. Not prestige so don't expect coffee and cake. Good for what it is.

Many cars overpriced. Way too many cars on the lot. So many that getting a test drive is time-consuming and frustrating. They don't negotiate on price. I would do SERIOUSLY RIGOROUS mechanical checks before buying here, given the state of some that I drove. You might get a deal? But frankly I've seen better for a lot less. Service was friendly and they were willing to help. Lots to choose from if that's what you want. Great advice on vehicle inspections and they were happy to allow you off lot to have your own inspection.

Outstanding customer service. Everyone was polite, friendly and enthusiastic. They also were very quick and efficient. Jaden and Jaime clearly take pride in thier work and do a fantastic job. I look forward to purchasing more vehicles through them in the future.

I have only praise for this firm..I dealt with a salesman called Aaron, he was Awesome!!. I was after a certain vehicle and as I was so far away he took close pics and sent them directly to me. Great communication even at 9pm when I got home from training. Gave me his honest view of the vehicle, which was still very good in my eyes. Even gave me contact details for the car inspection service. I pulled out of the deal last minute, and after all his efforts he still maintained sincerity and never changed his mannerism towards me at all. Great to deal with. Thanks Aaron this is how people need to be treated, up here in Auckland 90% of dealers I've dealt with could learn alot from you mate.

The guys were super helpful and didn't try all the typical used salesperson tricks. Just genuine, you get what you pay for. They are fully aware that there might be a few things wrong with the car but don't try and hide it or make you find out the hard way. The prices a reasonable keeping in mind that it's a business that sells cars, therefore it's in their best interest getting the most someone is willing to pay. All in all it was very nice dealing with them, they had a wide range of vehicles and I got the car I wanted.

We've just today bought our 5th car from there, Nick has always looked after us and i will continue to buy from him as his trade in prices are far better than anyone else, just a all round good experience.

My daughter brought her first car today from these guys. Jayden was absolutely amazing to deal with, made the whole process very easy. He even showed her how to check the oil and water, plus gave her a brand new battery. If you are looking to buy a car I would highly recommend heading down to Trade in Clearance.

Best place to get a car. Instead of wandering round multiple car yards, here you have it all in one place. Vehicles all registered and warranted and checked for defects. Great staff esp Manager Steve, and Kevin

Can't fault these guys. My son bought his first car from them and service was excellent. A few days later a warning light came on and we of course worried that having driven it away we'd be left to sort it ourselves. The opposite happened - not only did they fix the problem, on a Saturday, but also lent my son a set of wheels whilst they had his in for repair. Absolutely first class customer service. I see the negative reviews here but everyone wants a bargain, right? They have to make a profit, so you're going to pay a little bit more than from TradeMe, but if you get treated the way my boy did then I think it's worth it. Thanks, and we'd use you fellas again.

Lots of cars that should be sold for $1 reserve, very high mark ups and insist on an AA Inspection if you find something you like. Most of the vehicles require some repair or are on their last legs. 1 in every 3 cars are most likely needing mechanical attention- however negotiate that in the price if you really want to purchase it. Also make sure there is some sort of warranty insurance taken out.

These guys admittedly have an awesome range of cars and are packed to bursting point. Some of the cars are in very average condition but again I suspect that is because they just take everything so as to have a complete range. The only thing is the pricing seems really really high. Staff are great and they are hopefully paid well, but I have purchased 2 vehicles in the last 2 years, each time they have been half the price or less than what Trade in Clearance have advertised.

Plenty of cheap cars. Quality of vehicles displayed are somewhat average as majority are 2ndhand. However, great staff.

Bought a car for my wife, great car for a good price. Had a small issue with the car about 3 months of owning the car. Nick came to the party and had it repaired. Great service. Good to see a car dealer standing behind their product.

Big variety of cars with smiling faces when you visit them. No complaints about customer service but prices are way too high. Business need money but there is no point of holding it for a little profit in so many cars. Keep rolling the moeny

I've had my car for less than 3 weeks. Every time it rains the floor of the car gets soaking wet. Today the car overheated and lost power just as I got back to Upper Hutt. It's now standing on the side of the road. I would reasonably expect a car to last longer than 3 weeks. I will make contact in the morning and might place a different review if they can help me out. EDIT: I AM PLEASED THAT TRADE IN CLEARANCE HAS COME TO THE PARTY. WELL DONE CHAPS!

Loads of cars onsite and the staff were very friendly. I must say they do have the best hot chocolates there too☕😁 I had a problem with the car I got, but the way they handled it was GREAT. Now my cars good to go problem solved = "Happy Customer" 🖒

Great floor staff, when it came to the crunch re haggling over the price the manager was not prepared to haggle, the vehicle (Ford Ranger) was over priced, aging stock, needed work etc ect. Ended up buying a Colorado, less K's, newer model and at a good price. Would I recommend "Trade in Clearance" NO WAY!!! They gotta learn haggle. It got three stars for the efforts of the floor staff only, management gets a big fat zero!! Reply to their reply......Whatever....3 different accounts....please!!

The staff here are amazing, but the car I purchased was not, I got a honda with 220k on the clock for 4950 from the beginning it had: -a broken right rear brake light which somehow managed to pass a WOF - they did fix it -the right rear passenger central locking was buggered - they fixed this too -I didn't know this at the time but the -passenger wing mirror had a broken motor and was held in place with a screw - I fixed it -I had to get new brakes within a month because they were warped, but they were like that when I bought the car, i thought it was just rust from the car sitting for a while - I fixed it -within 3 months of owning it the transmission blew up - they fixed it thank goodness -now after six months of owning the car the engine light has been intermittent for the past week Overall the staff are great, Nic especially but I would definitely recommend having an aa inspection done before buying

I ended up going to another car dealer but Mike that I dealt with was really good and the office staff were efficient but it really is hit and miss regarding the quality of vehicles available

A lot of the cars seem pretty worse for wear but the staff don't jump all over you when you visit, so they got that going for them which is nice.

These guys are great. I dealt with Tyler and traded in my old car for a fair price against a new one. Easy as, very helpful staff, and got everything sorted no bother! Would deffo recommend!
