Great welcome and easy to deal with lovely lady who looked after us. Car was perfect for us but cleanliness of vehicle let company down. Definitely worth the outlay though.

Exceptional service from airport. Staff were a bit rushed, but obviously not a norm and probably due to COVID sick leave. They managed to deal with the difficulty with smiles and great customer service.

Very good late.model car.. pick up and drop off from Auckland airport.. the car ran faultlessly..... was a little dirty on the inside but overall I was super happy with the deal.. would hire from them again next yr when I'm back in NZ

Highly recommended. We rented a RAV4 2WD for 9 days during our stay in Auckland, we got what was exactly as pictured on the website, it was a 2017 model with only 38k mileage, the vehicle was odor-free, came with adaptive cruise control, onboard infotainment system, a few USB/12V ports (for charging phones). Overall the vehicle was in excellent conditions. The check in and out processes were swift and hassle-free , staff were always super friendly and smiley faces everywhere, even we had some good laughs with the van drivers. There was no hidden cost, the total cost is exactly the same as what's printed on the website when you make an online reservation. This is our first time renting a vehicle in NZ, and we were glad APEX did not let us down, and we will be sure to consider renting with them again in the future. 大推APEX Auckland Airport。我們第一次在紐西蘭租車選擇了APEX，因為背包客站的網友的推薦。租車費用便宜到令人訝異，我們租了RAV4 2WD with Zero Excess & Roadside Assitant 換算下來一天49紐幣，網站上報給你的價格就是總價了，沒有其他隱藏費用 (當然如走了付費道路Road Toll是需要自己另外付的)。我們領到的車是2017年的，里程數約3萬8公里，車子的狀況非常好，非常乾淨沒有異味，也有ACC自動跟車與大尺寸中控螢幕這些高端配備。領車還車手續也非常快速，基本上APEX的價格已經真的很便宜了，所以租車時一定要選則Zero Excess以及Roadside Assistant。我們總共租了9天，跑了北島很多地方，車子完全像是自家車一樣(甚至比我自己的車還要高端!) ，非常滿意。 P.S. 建議不需要額外選購導航，可以在抵達奧克蘭機場時，尚未出關前的免稅店購買免稅價的Travel SIM卡，比出關後再買便宜很多。例如60天10GB傳輸200分鐘通話的卡才51紐幣，可以拿它來用手機導航比較划算。

Very helpful and professional. My flight got cancelled and my family were stuck at the airport with literally 12 suitcases! I called Apex they picked us up , I had organised a sudan to squeeze everything in on my budget and the manager came out with an upgrade to a Outlander for only a fraction more to make sure we were comfortable. Great prices really appreciated it Apex Thankyou!

Apex Auckland Airport is Number 1. Best in customer services. Got a vehicle from them , served by a lovely staff member who was brilliant . The Branch Supervisor Anil Kumar is a real customer Service King . I had a minor issue and he went out of his way to sort it even though he didn't really have to . He is very suited for his role and is in fact best for the Branch Manager's role. I am extremely delighted with his approach and these are the few words I can put it into. Thank you Apex and thank you Anil.

Anil Voomi (Branch Supervisor) at "The Apex Airport Branch", is a "Super star", when it comes to providing a "Wow Rolls Royce Service". Anil was extremely Professional, efficient, helpful, super friendly & went the extra mile, to assist us, comprising our rental process, at the branch. Anil made the overall experience seamless. Fast efficient rental car process when I arrived. Large selection of cars in the yard and competitively priced. They also dealt quickly with the crowd of arrivals very quickly which showed excellent customer service.

I hired a people mover from Apex from 14 to 19 July at the Auckland Airport. The service was nice, staff were friendly and responsive and the price were good. I initially was little bit hesitated to book APEX as other car rental companies have a better google rating. But the price was too good to beat and i gave it a try, which was a right decision. Some google reviews talked about a long wait time for the pick up, luckily it did not happen to me. The pick up car arrived quicker than i expected after i made the call around 6 pm Auckland time in the evening of 11 July. The driver ( Anthony or peter) was very helpful. The reception girl was very sweet and knew how to read the customer. She skillfully asked about road side assistance and return petrol option but did not push too hard when i said no. I appreciated her understanding and i know some other car rental company push aggressively even the customer said no. The drop off experience was like a breeze. The shuttle bus driver saw i was moving baby seat off my car and he came over and sorted out the return procedure for me and then moved our luggage to the bus. Off we went. I will use apex again and the service i received deserve 5 star rating

Rented a car recently to explore north island. The shuttle bus from Auckland airport pickup to the rental site was smooth. The entire experience with the staff was good as well. The rented car was in good condition. I had to cut short my trip and was able to return the car at wellington airport middle of the night without much hassle. Overall very good experience with the company and most important good value for money.

Fantastic Price and lovely staff. Shuttle driver was great. My only issue was the time it took to have car seats installed. After getting off a 4 hour flight, with 2 little ones and it approaching rush hour, then it would have been nice to have the car seats in the car and ready to go when we got there. However it took nearly 30-minutes just to find the car seats let a lone have them installed in the car. Otherwise the service is always lovely.

Our flight was cancelled due to bad weather. These guys really looked after us, gave us a new Corolla at very reasonable price. Didn't charge us a transfer fee when we dropped it off at their Napier branch. Amazing service, will definitely be coming back here.

Service was friendly and a little slow, but I’ve had a lot worse. Car was not very clean - detailing left a lot to be desired and I had to wipe out some of the smaller pockets on the door etc before feeling comfortable.

A great price on a deal for the car I hired for a week. The shuttle service was fine - I had concerns about this initially, but the driver helped with all my bags and it took me from the doors to the International Terminal, right up to the doors of the hire building. The car I hired was satisfactory. It ran well and the tyres were in good condition. However, the windscreen wipers were old and didn't wipe away water very effectively, particularly on the driver's side of the windscreen. When I called and asked about having these replaced, I was told this wasn't possible due to the car not being due for a service. I was very disappointed with this as it rained quite a bit while I was driving between Auckland and Hamilton. Overall, the quality of the car was good, the customer service was terrible, and the price was great. No dodgy charges on the credit card, and no unexpected fees at pick up. A mediocre experience.

We managed to lose the car key over the Orakei dam - ooops. We called Apex and they said come out to the airport we have the spare key. After Ubering it back and forth between Orakei and the airport, the replacement key did not work. ooops. So, Apex sends a tow truck and we get towed to the airport and other passengers etc sorted out. Sort of a bust of an afternoon. Although we started the mess by losing the key, Apex did not help by giving us the wrong key which was labelled the correct key for the car. Apex immediately took action to remedy the situation and arranged a replacement car for us. Subsequently, Apex was very helpful with paperwork issues related to our credit card insurance claim (which was paid out!) regarding the cost of the replacement key. Rather than posting a belligerent comment over Apex giving us the wrong key, we can all acknowledge that we all drop the ball (or the keys) sometimes. In the end Apex, made sure we were safe and taken care of. We are happy to state that Apex still has your back even when things do not go so well. Additionally, a friend of ours who needed to leave New Zealand at the start of Covid (yes she had valid reasons for not staying) was treated well and given a full refund and assistance with early cancellation.

It's relatively easy to book the cars, then head straight to the office to pick up the cars. If you're tight on budget, then Apex is your answer. When we picked up the cars, they looked a little beat up, but were mechanically fine. The staff was helpful enough to brief us the traffic rules, and got the paperworks done swiftly.

We hired a Toyota Rav4 from Apex Car Rentals from 25Dec to 30Dec. Everything from online booking, complimentary airport pickup to returning the vehicle went smoothly. I would highly recommend Apex Car Rental for your vehicle needs.

The good - very cheap rental, unlimited km, no qualms upgrades, very fast return. And the car was not *so* new that we worried about minor “wear and tear” scratches on a shiny paint job. The bad - a bit further from the airport than all the others, had to take a shuttle to/from instead of walking from the terminal. Staff were not rude but were not very friendly. We had to fit a hire child seat which we booked in advance - understandable, but I’d have been happy to sign a waiver than trust my bleary eyes after 14 hours in aircraft/airports.

Apex picked us up from our hotel to take us to their offices. The collection of the car took 10 minutes then we were on the road! Painless! We dropped the car back that afternoon and that took 5 minutes before we were in the shuttle back to the airport. Great service and we use them all the time. Consistent efficiency. Well done Apex.

Didn't rent a brand new car but the 5 year old Toyota Corolla was clean, safe and never missed a beat. Wouldn't have know it was older as it ran like a new car. Great service and pick up from airport after hours.

I hired a large sedan for 9 days, unlimited kms. Great and reliable for my family roadtrip. Price I thought was very reasonable and NO BOND to pay which was nice on the wallet. The car I was given, late model Toyota Camry, was sufficient for my small family , and was also very tidy with great handling. Friendly helpful staff. I had to return my vehicle as Level 4 was setting in during the Covid 19 lockdown. The staff advised me on what to do as I was concerned that I would be forced to pay unnecessary extra charges. I am planning on using Apex for my next roadie for sure.

We walked out of airport at 6.30 am and one phone call got us picked in no time and were greeted by smiling customer service rep. She explained us the dos and donts and guidelines for road rules in NZ. She also gave us all emergency contact number details for any breakdown, accident or flat tyre repair. Next thing was our Toyota corolla clean and emaculate, for 2 people it was great car. Since we had received a deal there was zero excess and unlimited Km cover. It was smooth drive along the north island. After we returned the car, it took us 5 minutes to complete the procedure, and had shuttle waiting to drop us at airport. Will book our car with them next time we visit NZ.

Reasonably priced car rental company. I found the cars on offer to be quite high mileage but the one I rented worked fine. Staff were efficient and polite at the Christchurch and Auckland offices that I visited.

Pickup and drop off from airport is pretty timely with only very short waits. Fair price. Car was in good condition.

I rented a Toyota Corolla with Sat Nav. The pickup process was easy and quick. The car was nearly new and the Sat Nav worked well making negotiating the Auckland roads easy. Drop off was quick and trouble free. Pickup and dropoff was by shuttle van which arrived quickly and was modern and comfortable. Overall an excellent car rental experience.

Recently hired the Nissan Wingroad and was an excellent choice. Very spacious but not too big, and fuel efficient! Definitely will hire again, and this is my second time using the same service. Awesome customer service, friendly and helpful staff especially the guy who drives the shuttle bus between the airport and the rentals place. Thanks again!

Brilliant service experienced here, courteous and efficient staff. Airport pick up is a great addition as it's not easy walking distance with luggage etc. Maps of Auckland etc are free and good leaflet explained all the rules and regs of driving in New Zealand. Rates very favourable and the car was great for the month of touring New Zealand.

I liked Apex overall. Good cars, not unnecessarily expensive. And their terms and conditions are simple and transparent. The cars may be 5 years old or something, but if that doesn't affect their performance, then I'd rather pay half price to Apex as compared to Hertz or Budget. And then, at least at this particular location at Auckland airport, the staff were lovely. And because they are not located exactly at the airport, they offer a free shuttle service that made my day: we were planning to go to our hotel at the airport first to drop off our luggage, and then return the car to Apex, but we were running late, so we had to go to Apex first before they closed, and then carry our luggage 2 km to our hotel... BUT NO!! BECAUSE APEX DROVE US TO OUR HOTEL!! This was particularly good after having past bad experiences with Hertz or especially Budget, which being double as expensive should be double as good, but it is exactly the opposite.

Was in Auckland for a two-week trip. Staff was friendly and patient when explaining the terms and conditions to my friend and me. Price was reasonable and the cars are in pretty good shape. They offer after-hours drop-off at an extra cost, and there is free shuttle to and from Auckland Airport. Staff managed to get an upgrade of car for us without extra cost and it was a pleasant surprise.

Fast, convenient and cheap. We rented a Toyota Camry from Auckland and dropped it off at Wellington. The car was in good condition and newer than we had ordered. We were efficiently picked up at the airport and taken to the depo and then out the door in a reasonable time. Dropping off the car was super simple, no paperwork and then we were quickly whisked away in a bus to the airport which was very close by. Would use them again and happy to recommend.

I always use Apex when travelling for business and usually have 5 star everything. Sadly not this trip. The booking was great as usual, but when i called for my Auckland airport pick up i was VERY disappointed in how the call was handled. The lady was not clear, i cldnt hear her name, and the instruction on where to wait was minimal at best. But the crowning moment was when she put the phone down on me while i was trying to confirm where i had to go . I was not happy. Then we get to the office and being used to Christchurch and Wellington branches where all staff jump in to ensure customers are not waiting around, i look up and there are at least 3 staff sitting chatting while we wait. Again not happy. Thank goodness I did not have any meetings to go to. This was not what I expect from Apex but it will not hinder us from using their service or recommending them in future. I just hope these issues improve. On the plus side our van driver was awesome!

I rented my car for a week between 2-9 February. All I can say is that I can't recommend this enough for anyone looking to explore the best that New Zealand has to offer. I really liked the cheap price, transparent pricing structure, airport transfer (Auckland International) and the car was delivered exactly as promised. I received a Nissan Tiina that delivered great fuel performance (~15.3km/l). Really, I have nothing to complain about and I want Apex Rentals to succeed because they are a good and honest business, which is a rarity in this time and age

Shuttle service works efficiently. No hidden costs. Fair and reasonable price. Cars clean and in good condition. Check-in and checkout quick and painless. All you could ask for really.

No problems at any time. Car pick up was a doddle..3 people for Apex , more like 20 at Avis. Car was a bit older but clean & comfortable & went well. Drop off also easy. Well done...

Mixed feelings Good: - shuttle service - pick up and return quick and easy Bad: - incorrect advice from staff at the Auckland airport rental. They assured us that we could easily add on another driver at any Apex or Avis location, as I was arriving a few days after my family. This turned out to be NOT the case. We tried at Avis in Hamilton and Rotorua and were told it couldn't be done. Luckily the woman working at Avis in Rotorua was kind and went out of her way to fix the problem for us.

The frequency for airport pick up shuttle is too low! We waited like 20 min for the first one but it ended up being too full and so we could not board and needed to wait for the next one. It was suppose to come in 10 min but ended up being another 20 min wait instead. Super frustrating after a long flight and a drive ahead. The counter staff was quick and friendly fortunately. The car was not well maintained. Overall, I won't want to book with them again.

I just love the place. Amazing experience will recommend to all people looking 2 hire big and small vehicle service was great...leave your car in a huge big mess the cleaning ladies love to clean. Definitely this place is a keeper if you love making messes but don't like to clean.

The car rental price is very acceptable, actually one of the lowest among all rental service. However, the service here is below our expectation. People are always waiting, and they don't seem to obey the first come first serve policy we are used to. They welcome people returning car first, and all people picking up are waiting like half an hour, even if there are not so many people queueing. Be careful when returning car. There can be serious traffic jam around in rush hour.

I have rented from Apex on two different occasions and was very pleased both times. I really appreciated that the price that you're quoted at the time of booking is the price that you will actually pay without any upsell, hidden fees, or anything else of that nature. If you're getting picked up from Auckland Airport don't forget to call to let them know you're ready for a pickup as their vans only go to the airport when they are actually picking somebody up or dropping somebody off.

This is the second time we used apex and just like the first time there were no issues. The car pick up from the airport isn't much of a hassle, prices are low and service is good. The cars are a bit older than most other rental agencies, but they drive just fine.

Really friendly and helpful staff. They were a bit understaffed which made it a bit frantic for the workers there, but they were courteous and helpful with everyone, despite having some rude and disrespectful customers. Car was great too.

Great cars and value for money. Even during the peak holiday period. My car was a 2018 model, had done only 25k and had all the bells and whistles that you'd normally see in a high end model.

Have used Apex twice. The first time we had a car with about 90k km. It was clean and tidy and was a few years old. This time (our second time) totally different. Car had 225k on clock. Car stereo buttons were broken and being a japanese import the radio has different khz reading so trying to tune radio was nearly impossible. Drivers door had dropped so didn't fit properly. There was a clunking noise everytime you accelerated. And we received car with a nearly full tank of gas but were expected to return it full. When it rained the carpet smelt like wet dog so were led to believe it had a leak some where. Head lights were faded yellow. It also had saggy seats leading us to believe it had more than milage stated. I would be surprised if this car cost $1000. Yes I know they advertise higher km cars for cheap but believe this was stretching the advert a little to far. I can hear people say "why did you take it if it was so crappy?" We had booked it weeks in advance and the rest of our holiday was contingent on travelling that afternoon. We will give them one more go next year and will give final review then, we are unsure if the first car we got was luck or if the rest of the fleet is like the clunka we got 2nd time around.

After getting stuffed around by another car rental (drivenz) that we already booked a car from and decided to cancel once we landed. Apex car rental helped us out while having 1 hour before closing time and also being a last minute booking. Thanks heaps guys for the help. Highly recommended 5 stars plus

We recently traveled to NZ and were looking at different car rental places. At first I was abit hesitate to use Apex as the online reviews were a mixture of bad and good but I was so happy we decided to take a chance on them anyway. We hired their toyota Rav4 2015-2016 as they were having a sale which offered full cover with the car. The process of getting the car and dropping it off was fast and easy, prices were so much cheaper than other places i looked at, the car was clean and staff were friendly. We had family drop us and pick us up so as for the shuttle we didnt actually get to experience it but I can honestly say that personally we had no trouble with Apex. I would definitely recommend Apex Auckland Airport to family and friends travelling to NZ.

Rented with Apex last month... Very easy process.. Landed and caught the free shuttle and before I knew it we were at the depot, signed up and on our way. The two staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful and offered us a GPS which was worth it weight in gold. Car was virtually brand new and much cheaper than the other guys like Hertz and Europcar. Couldn't fault Apex and would rent again without hesitation.

Love Apex for the quality of the cars they provide for the cost. I keep coming back to Apex as they have great "no fuss" service and there are no surprises like extra costs or hidden fees. They even helped put the baby seats in for us :)

Always good value and the staff really true to help you. The car can be "value" or premium, so expect that, it is part of the deal! They always good and safe.

We had a nissan tida for hire. People where friendly. And let you check over the car to point out pre existing damage to record. Car was marked everywhere even tho it was pretty new. Car ran sweet. Could of interior could of been cleaned better as it has cleaning product not wiped off properlly . Not a huge issue. Price was good too. Could use toll ways with out etag just log onto website. They give u a bus ride to the air port. The only thing is be carefull on the way back as the mini bus fills up quick as everyone is wanting to go home, this could easy make u late for your return flight.

Process is smooth and straightforward here. Staff is friendly, price is reasonable so nothing much to complain! You have to call them when you arrive at the airport, they'll come pick you up within few minutes. Easy peasy

The cars are fine but the whole process is painfully slow. DON'T come here if you are in a rush. Also, if you return car early you don't get a refund - you get credit for your next hire. Which is annoying, especially if you aren't in the country again...

We had a rental car over 3 months with apex and the service was very good, the staff friendly and helpful and even in the case of a low battery we recieved an immediate support. Highly recommended!

Very reasonable rate. Collection from airport was fast however a little slow for pickup as they won't process your card or do paper work until you arr collecting the car which makes it a bit slow.

Great customer service! Car was kind of high miles. They *upgraded* us to a smaller car. The A/C didn't work; so, they refunded a day of the rental.

Know that I and my family really appreciated your call to my daughter yesterday morning - the car we were given yesterday is perfect and the refund is fair and just. I made sure to check all the seatbelts too - perfect. Thank you "angel" for caring! Many blessings to you and your family! " 1 x faulty seatbelt that does not click in the buckle and an alarm that goes off randomly on our first night with the vehicle did not qualify for a swap of vehicle. What about the safety of the back seat passenger? Apex you are supposed to provide a safe vehicle and we have paid for the rental of the vehicle for 3 days @$74.25 per day. CHECK YOUR VEHICLES BEFORE YOU RENT THEM OUT!!!! Twice we have hired from you between December 2018 and January 2019 and the vehicles were perfect and cheaper than the current one that we have with a faulty seatbelt and whatever. We asked for a swap of vehicle for our own safety and apparently we dont qualify for one - your warrant of fitness is to be questioned! I care about the safety of my children and apparently you don't! Poor service. From a concern mother from the Cook Islands on a short visit.

There we a huge wait, but not their fault. Renting cars is much more difficult compared to USA and they don't always rent cars that are new. Ours had lots of dings and rust. VERY IMPORTANT..make sure you photograph the car before driving off the lot!

Quick and efficient. Quick pickup from the airport, and had us on our way. They sent us pictures they took of the car on pickup such that any damage would not be disputed.

Last time I hired a car the guy serving me went out of his way to get us a car from airport as wife had booked pickup from city! There was a back log of people but he treated us with such patience and coutersy I will always hire from apex and have told all my whanau travelling in and out of AK to use them.. Great deals too

Cars 4-5 years old prices can be up with newer ones small damage doesn't seem to be fixed just mark it on the paper

Staff were so friendly and we got a great deal on a Mazda and Rav 4, both which ran beautifully. Their airport shuttle service is really convenient.

+ good prices + got the car we requested in good condition + no pushing for upgrades and extras + no hidden costs + website allows you to book Interislander as part of your booking. This makes cross island travel a lot easier

What is there to not like. Great prices, awesome phone booking service and onsite service very helpful. Even took up to the airport in the rental rather then having to unload and reload bags.

Great local company, significantly cheaper than the international names. For airport drop off, budget at least 25 minutes for car drop-off and shuttle to the terminal even at non-peak times.

Had a bad experience where a car failed mechanically and I was tasked with fixing it on the side of the road at 6pm in the dark, didn't get a thanks or anything when I had to bring it back to have it swapped out for a new one.

Landed in Auckland in midnight. Found a bit difficult to get the car as they are closed after 8pm. Had no clue how to take the pre poked car. Finally some how we went close to rent zone and got the car along with ready pack. Car condition was really good. We drove the car for 3 days, nice experience. While returning the car the staff were really helpful.
