This was our first time taking a motorhome and after looking at multiple companies over 2 months we narrowed it down to KM. Luigi was our cosy, comfortable home for 36 days and we absolutely loved every bit of our trip. Leon and Varrnier are friendly, helpful and passionate about giving good customer experience -they were always on hand and reachable with advice, tips & solutions. They made hassle free arrangements to fix couple of issues that we experienced during our trip. Absolutely highly recommended company for motorhome rentals

What a lovely company to deal with! Varnier and Leon were super flexible with arranging a short notice hire of a motorhome. Auckland was in the middle of a Covid-19 lockdown at the time of the hire, but they had approval to travel outside of the lockdown area to deliver "Awhimai" to Hamilton airport. They provided a comprehensive, socially distanced handover of the van to a couple of "newbies" like us. We had a fantastic 9 days travelling around the East Cape, and down to Napier. The van was well designed and perfect for us as a couple . We particularly appreciated the proper (and comfortable) island Queen-size bed, which we did not have to make up each night. The van was immaculately clean, well prepared and a pleasure to drive, and within an hour, I felt very comfortable behind the wheel. This whole experience was first rate and has kindled a real interest for us to do more travel of this nature in the future. Thank you Varnier and Leon for making this such a painless and enjoyable experience. We hope to travel with you again in the future.

We hired jordy for 11 days and what an adventure our family had, including our bulldog Stella. Amazing service the camper was out of this world and so easy on the road. Accommodating to the whole family and was cheap to run also! Thankyou again for trusting us and allowing us to make some amazing memories together ❤

We hired the van which (on pickup) we learnt is called Jordy - our son's name! So we were off to a great start.😉 We travel extensively, but this was our first motorhome adventure. We appreciated the collection from Auckland airport and comprehensive practical advice on pick up. The van is very comfortable for two people and came fully equipped- including the extra e-bikes we booked (well worth it). Bed was extra comfy which was a pleasant surprise. We spent 7 nights touring the Far North of NZ out of season and it was fantastic. Cycling, walking, kiwi hunting and (just!) warm enough for sea swimming. Excellent food and wine too. Leon and Varnier were helpful, kind and friendly - highly recommend Kiwi Motorhomes.

This was our first motorhome trip as a family and we were so lucky to have Te Hiiri for the week. We had a great time touring up the West Coast of Northland to the top and then back again down the East Coast. Leon and Varnier were awesome at handover taking us through all of the inside and outside of our new home. It was really clean, and had everything we needed and having outside tables, chairs, boogie boards, and bikes (all of which we used) included in the fee was a great point of difference and really appreciated. The layout was awesome for a family of 4 – a double bed made up all the time with lots of storage around it and then the drop down bed above the seating area for the kids which we just pushed back up in the morning. Really comfortable motorhome and really easy to drive. Again at dropoff Leon and Varnier were so lovely to deal with and dropped us off at the airport – a pleasure to deal with. If we hire again in the areas Kiwi Motorhomes service we will only hire from them in the future.

We took Muscles on a 2 week spin around Taranaki . What a lovely vehicle to drive, so smooth and easy just as a holiday is meant to be. He came with everything that Leon & Varnier promised and more . They certainly put the effort into the things that matter like every thing was spotless , all the little things to help cook , sleep . cruise and entertain were all neatly placed ready to make for a most enjoyable trip. To anyone with mobility issues who may consider a motorhome option ........ With Margaret having to use a walking frame we found this no problem at all . The steps are easy to climb , there is plenty to hold onto and move around within the motorhome and the walker slides away easy in that massive garage in the back . Of coarse we highly recommend Kiwi Motorhomes and their wonderful service and of coarse we are already planning to do it all again .

We've just had an amazing holiday of almost six weeks in Jordy, touring both islands. A brand new, very comfortable and easy drive motorhome, with everything you need to enjoy your holiday. Chris & Leon brought Jordy to us in Christchurch and we were able to hand back to Leon & Varnier in Auckland. Being such lovely people, who we could contact at any time, and nothing ever being a problem, made it feel like we truly were amongst friends. Meeting other campers & hearing their tales of problems, charges (some daily!) and really poor service, we knew we had gone with the best. Having everything included in the cost, no hidden extras, and such friendly people in their "family" team made all the difference. Huge thanks to everyone :D we highly recommend Kiwi Motorhomes as being the only place to go for hiring a camper in New Zealand!!

This was our first time venturing into the motor home world - so pleased we came across these guys with their easy as system - no extra fees for a second driver or bike rack or bikes or outdoor tables and chairs - just pay the one fee, hop in, take off and everything is all there. Wow! First time experience travelling in Campervan and way to travel to see our own country Aotearoa. So grateful to Kiwi Motorhomes and Leon ,Varnia and Chris who were absolutely awesome from pick up to drop off. 'Jordy' the campervan took us on a fantastic journey through parts of the South Island after we were met at the Christchurch airport by Chris who did the handover which took about an hour . Jordy was fully equipped and the fridge had gifts of wine,cheese and crackers for us to enjoy. What can I say? Reviews all sound the same don't they. You're never quite sure... But Kiwi just has to be top dog in the Motorhomes business in NZ. I booked a four-week tour from the UK with my two brothers. Everything went like clockwork. Leon and Varnier picked us up an dropped us at the airport at either end of the trip. They were delighful company, and always helpful, from booking to returning the vehicle. The motohome was comfortable, clean and really well-maintained and didn't give us a single moment's worry. Now back in UK winter! Now, it all seems like a fading dream.

We have rented many motorhomes in many counties including NZ. This one was a super easy rental! Varnier and Leon are very fast to respond, which made booking easy. Pick-up and drop-off were equally easy. "Jordy" was in good nick, and we really enjoyed driving him. Apart from the eBikes (rental at a very reasnoable fee), everything was included, i.e. insurance, bedding, towels, kitchen equipment, GPS, camping chairs & table. etc. (elsewhere you pay extra for all of these). We’ve just experienced 3 weeks traveling in Lil Pete to Nelson area during mid winter. This motorhome was extremely warm, spacious and comfortable with many extras. Drop off and pick up from our home in Christchurch was a bonus and Pieter and Melissa were so lovely to deal with and fully explained all the workings of the motorhome. Absolutely loved Bella from Kiwi Motorhomes! We had an awesome trip during the 2 weeks in the South Island of New Zealand. Highly recommend, esp if you are going for your honeymoon and require some additional added touch. The campervan was luxurious, spacious, and modern, with added personalised touch in the form of Venetian blinds on all windows, which gave us total privacy. I compared that with many other campervans that we saw during our trip, and there were none with these blinds. Loved it! Driving was a breeze, and we enjoyed the front swivel chairs as well during communal dinners. Hot shower in the fully self contained campervan was a huge plus when we tried our hands at freedom camping. We even had a movie night with the DVDs provided, not to mention the fun board games that were included. We even enjoyed a view of the night sky littered with thousands of stars at Roys Peak, and had a lovely meal with the BBQ set and outdoor tables and chairs provided too! Service from Kiwi Motorhomes was excellent and beyond expectations. Chris, who handed over the campervan, was liaising with me throughout, even providing me with updates on the weather and suggesting itineraries for us. Leon and Varnier constantly checked in with us from time to time, all to ensure that we were having a blast. Felt really well taken care off, hats off to the team for going over and beyond. After much research we chose Kiwi Motorhomes and we were not disappointed. From initial contact and throughout our travels they have been responsive and supportive, providing excellent service. Our original choice of camper was Maggie but as she was undergoing major surgery we were upgraded to the lovely Rita. She was immaculately clean and very well equipped with more than basic equipment. The kitchen equipment looked brand new and was plentiful. Basic provisions were provided and much appreciated. Throughout our travel Leon kept in touch providing weather updates and wishing us well. We could not have chosen a better company to hire our camper for the experience of a lifetime and we are truly grateful we found them. Please look no further when hiring a camper. They are head and shoulders above the rest!

Great service and a very modern and clean camper. Leon, Chris, Kathy and Jamie were very friendly - we even had an overnight stay in the driveway at Jamie & Kathys house in Nelson - wonderful, warm and very friendly people. We were welcomed and treated like friends of the family - fantastic. There is the odd time in your life when you make a right decision. Hiring a camper from Kiwi Motorhomes was one of those right choices. Leon and Varnier were just great people who couldn’t do enough for us. They were always on the end of a phone for any advice and never made us feel like the total campervan novices we were. We did nearly 2000km with ‘Sasha’, and still wish we had longer together. We intend to reunite with her when we do the south island in summertime. Leon and Varnier are the most genuine, caring couple, Kiwi Motorhomes really treat you like a celebrity, they went over and above to ensure that our 7 day trip from the south Is to the Nth Island, was amazing ! small touches like full cutlery, utensils , tea coffee stocked up etc , Immaculate and clean Motorhome. They gave us suggestions of places to visit and apps to download to help us on our way. Leon also sent us lovely messages to ensure we were ok along the way. We hired a motorhome (Rita) for 40 days and we travelled all around NZ; Rita was perfect for the trip, she was so reliable, very good space inside, super clean, everything worked perfectly, and she also drives very smoothly Leon and Varnier are super friendly, always happy to help us, they responded to every single question and they responded very fast. Took Luigi on a tour up north to the cape, visited lots of bays and beaches and had a fantastic time. Leon and Varnier were the consummate hosts taking us through the booking process , the options and some advice. Maybe we didn't hear or listen but our only mistake was to take too much stuff with us! When we arrived they gave us a comprehensive introduction to Luigi and then let us get on our way. We had a couple of technical "moments"which required some phone assistance which was perfect and after the first couple of days we felt confident and really got into van life. When we made contact with campervan hire companies Kiwi Motorhomes stood out for its timely responses. Varnier and Leon were forthcoming with information and ideas from the time of our initial enquiry and understood how new this was for us. They trusted us with Luigi for our tour of Northland! We really appreciated their willingness to enable us to have our two little dogs with us and their parking for our car while we were away saved us money and hassle. We took our first campervan holiday in May. At first, we were in awe of the responsibility of using such a luxury vehicle that didn’t belong to us, but Varnier and Leon were relaxed and reassuring, and thorough, with their induction. Luigi was a dream to drive and was well appointed, including good quality supplies and equipment. Varnier responded quickly, even though it was a Sunday, to our request for information about something we hadn’t worked out for ourselves. We had a lot of fun with this mode of travel. We travelled up the west side of Northland and down the east side and poked into places we would otherwise have driven past. We loved making decisions about each day’s destination over the breakfast table. For two weeks we became part of a little community of travellers who we kept bumping into along the way. And we made a point of going to particular bays that fellow travellers recommended. Thank you Varnier and Leon for your major part in our memorable, restful holiday.

Our recent trip in Awhimai started and finished in Auckland, with more than 4000km covered in 22 days in both the north and south islands. Our motor home was a little larger than we expected and had the island bed in the rear, along with a full sized shower and separate bathroom/ toilet. The unit was beautifully clean and tidy and included everything from salt and pepper, teabags, utensils to outdoor seats and a table. The Ford Transit was a six speed manual and was able to travel at the speed limit almost everywhere! It was an easy drive, economical, giving close to 600 odd km per fill.We were well treated by Vanier and Leon both at initial pickup time and at drop off. They are easy to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for an upmarket motor home with excellent service, it would be hard to better Kiwi Motorhomes. Highly recommended!

We had the pleasure of taking Luigi on a tour of Northland and as this was our first time holidaying in a motorhome we were apprehensive. However collecting Luigi Leon and Vanier were awesome taking us through the inside and outside of the vehicle and the extras on board included in the price were fantastic. Biles chairs tables etc. After a fantastic week exploring old and new places, beaches and bays meeting delightful fellow campers it was time to return Luigi home. On returning Luigi once again Vanier and Leon were amazing and so efficient which made transferring all our gear back into the car for our journey home a breeze. This generous couple gave us a holiday, the result of buying a ticket to a Hospice Open Home, for which they kindly donated the 5 day motorhome holiday as the prize. What a pleasure to deal with people like Leon and Varneier from Kiwi Motorhomes! Everything from a first contact with them to an actual experience of driving their motorhome was an absolute high standard. They are professional but very warm and hearted people. They do really care for customers and want to help us enjoying our holidays. They even gave us some lemons from their garden!! There were no problems with our vehicle. It’s VERY clean, reliable and easy to operate( even for first time users like us). It’s also important that owners on our return asked us about our experience of using it and what can be improved. They were fantastic to deal with and did the handover and motorhome rundown after picking us up at the airport. The motorhome was super clean and in great condition. We contacted Leon and Vanier at Kiwi motorhomes when we were looking to hire a motorhome to travel from The Waikato to Wellington for our daughter's spinal surgery. Our booking was very last minute as our daughter's surgery had been changed to Wellington and the booking was during the school holidays and leading into a long weekend. Many motorhome hire companies were booked out and trying to find a motorhome to suit our family of five was very difficult. We just wrapped up an epic one month journey around NZ in this amazing motorhome! You can not ask for better hosts. Leon and Varnier were absolutely wonderful to communicate with as they were super personable and highly responsive. Our first experience booking with Leon & Varnier from Dec 18th 2020 to Jan 9th 2021 (21 days) and we are extremely happy from the first point of contact which was warm & welcoming right through to dropping off ‘Little Pete’ perfect for 2 adults & 2 kids. We needed a Motorhome that would take 2 adults and 2 large dogs comfortably on a 7 day East Cape tour in Sep 2020 and we found that with "Muscles" and Kiwi Motor Homes. On payment of a pet cleaning fee, and a comprehensive briefing from Varnier and Leon from Kiwi MH's we set off from Auckland. " Muscles" was very easy to drive and was superb and "he" meet all our requirements. Unfortunately " Muscles developed an electrical fault on our second to last day and stranded us in the middle of some major hills 2 hours from Napier. Leon very quickly organized a tow company and a garage to look at the problem, but sadly we had to leave "Muscles " in Napier and rental car back to Auckland on our last day. These things happen, but its how they are handled by the hire company that determine the best outcome... and Leon and Varnier could not have done a better job. They were considerate and kept in touch regularly while they came up with a plan B . Yes we lost a day and a half but as I said these things happen. excellent accountability and ownership from Leon and Varnier and Kiwi Motor Homes. I would not hesitate to use them again and we will.

For our 6-week trip to New Zealand, we were looking for a comfortable and inexpensive motorhome. From the many offers, we have selected the kiwi motorhomes (Benji), this was a good decision. The whole process from ordering to return was perfect. During the trip we also received weather warnings via the Wahtsapp, when asked they responded and helped immediately. The car was clean, well stocked with very good kitchen equipment including coffee, salt. Get in and drive. We are very satisfied with the Kiwi Motorhomes and can definitely recommend the company. Enjoy a great experience with Kiwi Motorhomes. This was our first time travelling around the lower North Island of NZ in a Motorhome named Rita. Our experience has been nothing short of fantastic. From the very first time meeting Leon and Varnier with their superb friendly and welcoming customer service through to showing how everything operated in Rita the Motorhome we traveled in along with a warming welcome return when bringing Rita back. Rita is a medium size automatic Motorhome which has an internal standard ten times better than other companies Motorhomes I inspected personally prior to hiring Rita. My parents and I have just had the most incredible 3 weeks trip in Awhimai, a beautiful motorhome from Kiwi Motorhomes. Leon and Varnier are exceptionally wonderful people, they responded very quickly to all queries both before and during our trip and the vehicles are maintained to such a high standard. Whole heartedly recommend using this company to explore beautiful New Zealand!

After searching on line for a campervan for 2 weeks, we came across Kiwi Motorhomes. Leon & Varnia could not have been more helpful and the price was one of the best. The van was spotless when we picked it up from Auckland. We will definitely be using Kiwi Motorhomes again.

We went to new Zealand and travelled with a motorhome for 19 days. From our experience it was tricky planning the trip as it was jungle when it came to choosing motorhome vehicle and motorhome company. The larger providers have standardized, rather expensive offerings that travelers probably choose out of convenience, unsecure about other options. We instead decided to go with Kiwi motorhomes which we eventually found googling around. It turned out for the best - In short: For a better price they provided us with a top notch motorhome, gave us the best of service and really went to extents to help us optimize our trip. We really had the best of times going with them. Some details about it: Pickup. Pickup was really convenient. Either you could come to them, or they could pick you up at the airport. We had a warm welcome by Leon and Varnier and it was smooth to get ready. As for the motorhome itself we had a thorough walkthrough and they took their time and helped us with all their questions, inexperienced motorhome people as we were. Everything was super clean, and we could choose from a variety of extras for free such as (new) mountain bikes, barbeque etc. in addition to the regular stuff such as camping chairs and tables etc. The kitchen had all supplies needed and in the fridge there was a bottle of wine waiting. We were travelling with a baby and they provided us with a proper new baby chair - no cheap stuff. As we set out it felt really comfortable. Travelling Throughout the trip we could call or contact them through watts app at any time if there were any issues or something we wondered about. They always responded swiftly. In addition they kept out for us, for example when the Milford sound passage was flooded they instantly got in touch with us and made sure that we knew about it. Along the way we also had the options to stop for free at partners to the company. For example we stayed in Napier where we were greeted with a delicious cheese platter and wine and also got good tips about were to camp and what sites to visits in the area. Along the way it was also fun getting complements from various people, such as the cabin crew on the island ferry or the lady at the gas station, regarding that we had such a nice campervan. Returning the vehicle. Also convenient. They came to our hotel in Christchurch and it was really smooth to sort out all of the details. They took photos as we picked the vehicle up and took similar ones as we returned it. We got our own copies of all of the photographs so it felt really safe and that things were properly done. We managed to forget a baby cup in the van so we called them about it and two days later as we were departing the drove to meet us. As they were heading close by they had the kindness to drive us and all our baggage to our flight! All in all everything turned out for the best going with Kiwi motorhomes and we would really recommend it to anyone travelling to NZ. We usually do not write reviews but we felt this time that it was the least we could do, as they really made sure we could have our dream trip.

A cut above the rest. We were thrilled with the immaculately clean camper which also had all the equipment we needed. It was wonderful being allowed to take our little doggie with us on holiday too. Now that we've experienced the best, we will only hire from Kiwi Motorhomes in the future.

The service they provided was in top. contact before the journey, pick up at the airport, contact during our journey and dropping us off at the airport again. We rented a camping car with Kiwi Motorhomes for 3 weeks in order to visit New Zealand. We really enjoyed it. We travelled all over in the north island and the north of the south island. We did 3100km and never had any problem with the camping car. We found very nice places to stay all over the country. Thanks to the owners : Leon and his wife. They are very friendly and helfull persons. We appreciated that. The camping car was very comfortable for 2 persons and the camping sites in New Zealand are well equipped and cleaned compare to some of them in France. We keep such a good memory about this experience and will be back.

We recently hired a MH for a 7 day holiday to the South Island and we were super impressed with all aspects of the experience. Booking was a breeze and Chris delivered the MH to our hotel. A quick run down on the workings and we were on our way. Being a 6 berth it had heaps of room and came with everything one could ask for. The MH was a late model auto with cruise control and easy to drive. My wife and I shared the driving so we both had the opportunity to take in the awesome scenery as we made our way around the island. Complimentary mountain bikes were included and were great fun. The MH was spotless and well stocked with everything needed for the trip. We would highly recommend Kiwi Motorhomes to anybody considering a holiday in one. Great company, great people, great vehicle.

Our trip with Kiwi Motorhomes was Amazing. It's a family company and they are actually listening and very proactive to your needs. We were hit by the statistics when in the week 2 out of 5 our first camper decided to climb its last hill in the middle of nowhere in south Island (engine failure). We managed to call an assistance, in the next hour a mechanics took us to the closest city for the night. The day after, Kiwi Motorhomes managed to get us a brand new big motorhome so that we could continue and end our trip the best way. Thanks so much to the people who took care of us (and drove the motorhome 5hrs straight to us!). Please note we were lucky we could have a replacement camper : it was only the beginning of peak season and I guess some people in our case may have to end their aventures in car + lodges but that would have been fine anyway : I'm sure the staff would have come up with a solution for us! Once again my wife and I are absolutely stoked to have people like Leon and Varnia (Kiwi Motorhomes) to deal with and we’re over the moon for the luxury of good reliable mobile accomodation to enjoy. We had to attend a tangi which lasted 5 days and COVID meant the Marae wasnt as available as usual for whanau to sleep in, so we called on Kiwi Motorhomes and asked for the camper named Muscles again. It was the perfect solution and many whanau commented saying “wish i thought of that”. Our kids were free to play amongst their many couzies and could retreat to the camper if they needed some peace or snacks meaning my wife and i could devote to the tangi without worrying. What and absolute joy!! Our family are often trecking off to different localities for weekends, booking batches and whilst travelling, we’d pass a motorhome or a convoy of them but never given it a second thought, but now where hooked. Our trips have been solely intent on getting to the destination yet we now realise, thanks to Kiwi Motorhomes, that the ‘journey’ can now be a whole series of wonderful destinations that ‘you’ choose. Instead of pulling into a crowded auto barn or a busy food mart, you can pull over at a scenic sight you’d always bypassed and soak in the atmosphere in a relaxed fashion without the normal stress and urgency of “getting to the place”. Our children enjoyed the relaxing travel experience and all the comforts that ‘Muscles’ had to offer which meant our holiday started when we left not when we got there. We’ve learned that we can see and enjoy more places in the same amount of time that we would usually devote to a ‘Book-a-batch’ arrangement and you have the freedom to go where-ever when-ever. Sooooo Cooool. Almost as cool as Leon and Varnia who are the nicest people you’ll meet. So warm and accomodating, going out of their way to tailor the comforts to your liking. We love the name and story given to the campers also, giving a sense of travelling with their guardianship (kaitiakitanga) keeping us safe, so ‘Muscles’ felt great to be in. Lol My wife and I are already planning another trip next month and Kiwi Motorhomes are our choice. Good people with great values and a genuine desire to share joyful family experiences. Absolutely brilliant! Getting to spend our last month in New Zealand in Jordy the Camper was a dream. It felt like a luxury hotel but on wheels!! Having the shower and heater were a god send. The van was delivered to our house and Chris was brilliant taking us through all the gadgets and explaining how everything worked. We were a bit nervous about driving the van due to the size but she drove like a dream and felt almost like a car, the comfy captain seats spun round at the end of a long drive to give us even more living space and made a nice "second sofa" during dinner. The kitchen was brilliant having an oven was such a treat and a mini freezer in the fridge meant we didn't have to worry about food going off or having to miss out of fish and chip night or ice cream. Cupboard space was more than adequate. After living in New Zealand for 2 years and having all of our belongings with us when we moved into Jordy we were worried we wouldn't have much room but we managed to get everything in without any hassle. People visiting New Zealand on holiday will be spoiled for choice on which cupboards to use. A really great bonus was the tv and DVD player for the few raining nights without wifi that we had with a good selection of movies and a warm bedroom you wouldn't have thought we were on a freedom site on the west coast in the rain. Overall an amazing experience and opportunity to explore New Zealand in style and comfort. Massive thanks to Leon and Varnier for helping us organise everything and for their continued support during our time with Jordy it was so lovely to know they were just on the other end of the phone whenever we might have needed them. We will definitely be back to take Jordy for another spin.

My husband and I hired the campervan Felix from Leon and Varnier, it was hands down the best experience of my life! so easy to drive and plenty of get up and go for the hilly south Island roads! We went from Auckland to Christchurch so crossed on the ferry which was a real treat! Wow....We are looking at purchasing a motorhome so we first wanted to try driving and living in one even though it was for 6 days, Leon and Varnier helped us make a decision based on the quality of the vehicle, how clean it was, the process for handover was amazing giving each individual there own responsibilities in keeping the vehicle functional and safe (Even though my missus forgot what she was told to remember lol) So friendly and welcoming and even excited for us and our trip.
