Very accurate description of their service and they kept exactly to what was advertised. Pick up from Auckland airport was swift and straight forward. No hidden costs and their insurance waiver was best value from those I compared. A good reasonably late model car. Drop off they went out of their way to be early and efficient when we changed flight plans to get in early to beat the cyclone. I recommend the company and their staff were great.

We recently hired a small car from Omega for pick up and return to Auckland Airport. We spent 4 nights in Auckland and then travelled north to the Bay of Islands with day trips further north as well. Shuttle service is great (as depot is about a 5-10 min drive from Airport). Hassle-free pick up, friendly and helpful staff and car was perfect for our needs. Reasonably priced rental - vehicle we had was an economy level vehicle so a little older (2016 model) but perfectly adequate and still in good condition. We have used Omega a few different times and will continue to use them as we have had no problems. Happy to recommend.

Pick up from airport was fast. After getting our luggage and walking outside van was there in less then 5mins. Picking up car was quick and we were off on holiday. Great pricing! Had to extend vehicle due to unforeseen reasons but was easy done. Overall great experience with Omega! Will be back on our next trip :)

Had 12 days hire of a Toyota Aqua. Great for getting around and very economical. Had a bit of trouble getting it into reverse for the first time. Solution- leave car in park, turn on key, look for the word 'READY' on the dash - then all good to go. Please put radio band expander into the vehicle. Otherwise great vehicle and super good price. Picked up after hours with no issues.

We rented from Omega over the festive season. Their service was superb, from selecting a car, to the collection and drop-off. Car was in good condition, and the staff incredibly helpful! I recently relocated a car from Auckland to Wellington. This was the only way to get my bike and four dive bags back to New Plymouth due to the level 3 restrictions. I spoke with Norton at the airport branch, and he was incredible. He was super helpful and went and measured the back of the car to see if my bike box would fit with the seats down. The pick-up with the shuttle was very convenient and everything was easy and seamless. I will hire again from Omega next time I am in Auckland or at a town with an Omega branch.

Had trouble hiring a car because I don't have a credit card. Rang the company 1 day before flying to Auckland, and bingo, all sorted in a very short time. Hired a little "Tonka toy," a Toyota Vitz, did a lot of traveling around Auckland and some outer regions, car was a dream. Omega Rental Cars were great - excellent, friendly service and a very clean, tidy and well maintained little car. We also appreciated the free shuttle to and from the airport terminal. When we returned the car the shuttle was out on the road, and even though we said we were not in a hurry they brought out another shuttle for us to take us to the terminal straight away. Impressive.

I had an excellent experience with Omega. Communication was good and there was no fussing around picking up the car when I arrived outside office hours and giving it back was equally easy. It would have been handy if the minibus driver had said in a clear voice, 'This is the domestic airport' because I got off there when I was going to Australia. I had allowed plenty of time and enjoyed walking the green line to international (10 minutes), but it could have been more of an issue. I'll be using Omega again for sure. I had a good, late model car for a fair price and have no hesitancy in recommending this company.

On our 4 weeks trip to New Zealand we used a rental car (Luxury SUV category = Toyota Highlander) from Omega. Although Omega was priced higher than other car rental companies, in the end it was important for us to work with a reliable company where we don't have to worry and can simply enjoy our holiday. I had a rental car for 3 weeks and had a very good experience with Omega. The afterhour pickup was very fast and easy. Unfortunetly I returned the car with a big scratch on the side but as I booked the gold insurance waiver it wasn't a big deal and I didn't have to pay anything for that, I just needed to fill out a form before taking the shuttle to the airport. Very impressed with Omega on a recent business trip. They offered the best value car and the car provided was new, and immaculately clean and presented. We hired a car from Auckland from sat-wed. When we arrived at Auckland Airport we followed instructions and a van came to collect us. We arrived at the depot and very friendly staff helped us with the car. We were hiring car seats and a staff member checked to make sure they were the right kinds for the kids (I thought this was awesome) checked the car and that was it. Off we went. On return we gave back the car and they drove us to the airport. I do wish they ran later shuttles as we had to wait 4 hours for our flight but really was a faultless hire. Thanks 😊

Ok, Where to begin.... The Price - Amazing & that's what took me to Omega firstly. I got a car for THREE days for under $80!!! First time I have ever also paid for the insurance against an excess in a case of an accident as the whole package was so cheap. Yes they are off airport site but I waited no more than 5 - 10 minutes for a shuttle pickup. 5 mins to the depot where the car, paperwork, everything was organized and I spent no longer than 5 minutes @ the depot before I was off & on the road. My car was clean and ready to go. In short I cannot offer higher praise for dealing with Omega. B T W the drop off & immediate transfer back to the airport was also seamless. My total Omega experience was fantastic.

Such a great experience from the start! I had to switch pick up locations and they did this with no problems at all. Our radio stopped working and they drove over 2 hours to switch cars. It was such a good experience, we'll use them next time without a doubt!!

Omega provided a good car at a great price. Their airport pick up & drop off was great. It would have been great to have had a band expander fitted to the Japanese radio so we could have kept up with the yacht racing. Also I had no aux cable to run off my phone. I would reccomend Omega. I had booked a while ago. Took full insurance and the 7 days total with full insurance was still cheaper than most or even all other quotes! The cars aren't new but from my viewpoint it doesn't matter. My own car is 9 years old. The car was clean, reliable and as advertised ( Nissan Tilda). The collection and drop off at Auckland Airport was no problem and a courtesy van collects you when you arrive ( just give them a call when you are ready) and drop you back to the airport on your return. I will use Omega in future. Good prices and service.

We picked up a car after hours and the pickup from the alternate site was seamless, so that was a really great start. What wasn’t so great was that the car rego expired the following day - we had a 6 day hire over the Easter weekend and as we travelled through some roadworks, I went to clear the screen with water - which was completely empty. A pretty decent hire but they just need to up their vehicle maintenance.

One of the best car rental experiences I've had, no BS. The Omega shuttle (free) picked us up from the Auckland airport and a short drive later we were at their office. The check out process was smooth and easy. The vehicle was pretty much brand new and very clean. The check in process, which we have had numerous issues with other car rental companies, was straightforward with Omega. We were checking the vehicle back in before they opened at the Christchurch airport. The instructions they gave us were spot on and once again, a free shuttle to the terminal. Omega were very accommodating answering emails before we booked our car. Pick up on arrival at the airport was very smooth and the paperwork was ready when we got to the office. All details were explained to us and all staff appeared courteous and efficient. After a final check we were given a car big enough to accommodate our 4 suitcases and 4 carry on luggage bags as well as 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Traveling in our rental car was smooth and using the technology in the car to navigate with maps offline was invaluable. Returning the car was quick and easy with a final check over. In all it was a great experience and I would recommend Omega Rentals to anyone.

As has been my customary experience with Omega they provided a good car at a very reasonable price. The Car was good (Demio) but I must say I found the i-Start engine feature quite disconcerting at times, given the engine will just stop when you are at lights etc. Sure it restarts as soon as you put your foot on the accelerator, but sometimes the power seemed to come on a little unevenly. Still the car was fanstastically economical on petrol. I drove from Auckland to Hamilton and back, and had quite a few extra journeys in Hamilton and back in Auckland. And there was a nightmare on Friday when it took about an hour and a half to get from the Airport to Drury. Despite this is was just under $50 to fill the car up. If we all had fuel efficiency like this our carbon footprint would be much improved!

My great experience with Omega started with a very easy booking process online. They were very reasonably priced compared to the most other rental companies. The pick up was a few minutes from the airport, and I was promptly picked up at the terminal. It was a great little buzz box to travel around the North Island, and was pretty efficient on fuel. The drop off again was quick and easy, and dropped immediately back at the departure terminal. Overall a great experience, and can highly recommend.

I compared 2 other car rental companies to Omega, and while the other 2 dropped their daily hire rate to match Omega's low rate, they couldn't match the insurance rates that Omega offers. Great smooth service. We come to New Zealand yearly, and have previously rented from another company. They made us crazy with long waits and indifferent service. Also, not every company would do a one way rental to Wellington. I was impressed that extra drivers were free to add, we added two drivers. I found them an excellent company to deal with. Our plane was delayed 4 hours, meaning we arrived after the office closed. At all times, the staff were extremely responsive to my frantic emails from an overseas terminal, offering solutions, which through no fault of theirs, I was unfortunately unable to do. Renting my car from Omega Rental Cars - Auckland Airport went very smoothly. From the very start of doing the rental online, everything worked as expected. I had a question about insurance coverage, and Omega was very helpful. The pick up at the airport was prompt, maybe 5 - 10 minute wait for the shuttle. Paperwork at the counter went quickly. The young woman at the counter was very helpful when I asked her a question about multi-lane round-abouts. Within minutes I was on the road. I dropped the car off in Wellington, and that also went super smoothly, and they gave me a shuttle ride to the Interislander ferry. Overall not bad. Online booking etc was great. Pickup from airport was also good. The quantity of the car was not great though. we chose the luxury SUV so we had enough room for lots of luggage, but on collection the car was so badly scratched, dented and stank of smoke inside. The friendly lady offered us a different vehicle (also badly scratched and tired looking, but slightly less) and a days free rental, which was appreciated. Have holidayed in NZ every year and rented same cars through omega a few times now, and it's the exact same cars since 2016/2017. They are getting very tired, old and beaten up! Also extremely expensive to run, but that's expected with a large petrol SUV. 3/5 would recommend, but with caution.

Booked a car with a “first tier” rental company because of a bad experience with a second tier company in the UK. However, read some reviews at the last minute about some troubles with certain first tier car rental company and decided to consider Omega Car Rental. The reviews were great and their product was of good value. No regrets. I saved at least a third of the original cost (that’s including comprehensive insurance cover and GPS rental) compared to the first tier company. And I got the car that I wanted, no so called an “upgrade” I previously got from a first tier company in the past. When I researched car rental hires for my trip to New Zealand, Omega Rental Cars came up much cheaper than all the other rental company. I read other reviews on Omega and many had said that it wasn't a first tier rental company. I took my chances anyway, because it was very cheap. I booked an 8 seater with pick up after hours from Auckland Airport and returning in Wellington for 9 days. They provided a baby seat and a booster seat free of charge, the $0 excess insurance that would usually cost a lot, was low, and didn't charge for additional driver and different location return. I had low expectations but when I collected the car, I was pleasantly surprised that we got the current model Toyota Previa. There was a check sheet given with relevant existing damages noted. The car was clean. The drop off at Wellington airport was about 1.5km away from the airport. The Omega operation there was large. We were provided a courtesy shuttle to the airport. Everything was seamless if instructions are read carefully, as they were thorough. I would highly recommend Omega Rental Cars and would love to rent from them again if I'm back in New Zealand.

Having never rented a car before I was a bit worried about such a good deal and wondering if I would get stuck with some fine print fees but the worry was all for nothing. The price was more than fair, the service was customer oriented and very relaxed even after I changed the time of the drop off AND accidentally got a rock chip and huge crack in the windscreen. The cars were in great shape and as clean as could be. What really impressed us was when we returned the second car before our flight home, running late with no time to spare, the woman at the counter knew our situation without being told, came out to meet us as we drove in, told us she would take care of everything as we moved our bags to the van, and handed us our receipt through the door of the van just before it left for the airport. We had not had time to fill the tank, so returned the car with a half tank. The administrative fee for filling it was NZ$30, on top of $66.15 for the half tank of gas, which seems high. So be sure to allow time to fill up. We will definitely rent from Omega again if we return to NZ and will recommend them to friends travelling here. We fell in love with this beautiful country and hope to return someday.

Staff were pleasant and efficient at pick up and drop off. Their office is a little distance from terminal. (Glad we had GPS to find it for return!) Was a bit hard to figure out how to contact them when we arrived at airport and had to wait almost 1/2 hour for pick up by shuttle. Quick return to airport with shuttle with car return. Car was older model with fairly high mileage, but it ran well. Radio/screen instructions were all in Japanese which made them useless. And front window fan was noisy at high level. Unfortunately we got a stone chip in front windshield. But this was dealt with in a pleasant and efficient manner. And cost I was charged for it was reasonable. ($57). I did not leave feeling like the rental company had ripped me off. Rental cost from Omega was significantly less than other companies - I would definitely rent from them again and recommend them to others. I am happy to have an older model (which is what I have at home anyway) and pay less, as long as car is reliable.

It was a very busy morning starting at around 4:30 am to get our 6am flight to Auckland. We had to wait for the shuttle to take us to the Omega Car rental place. I was dubious especially when the quote was probably 40% cheaper than the mainstream guys. We got to check in and the reception person handling the booking was quite abrupt to start with, but halfway through doing the paperwork, there was a change that came over the whole rental centre, and like magic the person serving me started to become extremely helpful and interested in what we had planned, the driveway staff were really good offering help with luggage etc. That change opened my eyes to what can only described as negative retail magnetism. Where the customer will be treated the same way as they treat the assistant. Or simply your mood ) off on them. Anyway a bit of a digression, so we went on our way with our car which was exactly what we ordered(unusual these days) and it was the same when we checked back in. Remember to give yourself an extra 30 minutes travel time, dropping off, you need it. But we'll worth the $ 300 saving for a weekend rental compared to the big boys. (BTW we rented a toyota highlander, and had 5 in our group,) And the Coromandels were beautiful.

We booked our car through Omega about 3 months before our 3 week driving trip around New Zealand and right from our initial enquiry they were quick, friendly and efficient with their responses. Picking up the vehicle was the same experience. After having an accident on our first day which rendered the vehicle unsafe, we found out just how good Omega were. Our whole experience was great! Booking was easy online. They contacted us quickly after the booking to double check everything and answered our questions promptly and accurately. There were no hidden fees and the price we were quoted was the best I found of all the car rental places I researched (and I researched quite a few). There is no ca on km, so you don't have to worry about that either, and they provide a driving in New Zealand manual for foreigners. They also offer free shuttle services between the building and the airports. We didn't use it when we arrived in Auckland because we were already staying at a place outside of the city when we went to pick up, but we used the shuttle in Queenstown to get the airport after we dropped off the car. She was quick and friendly and got us there in time for our plane (we were pushing it and a little stressed). Overall, we had a great experience and we strongly recommend to anyone needing a rental vehicle to explore this beautiful country.

Omega Car rentals were pretty good. We hired a car for 9 days and it was a good deal for a 2014 model. Car was nice, clean and easy to drive. They are not located at Auckland Airport and you can call them to get their free shuttle. Pick up was outside the Jetstar terminal side, but I would suggest allowing extra time for them to pick you up and travel 3km to their depot. Also, allowing extra time for dropping off the car and getting a ride back in their free shuttle. We would hire again from them.

We rented a Rav 4 on 7th September 2019 and returned it on 13th October. From our very first contact nothing was a trouble. A gentleman arrived at Auckland airport to transfer us to the Omega office to pick up the car, the paperwork was a breeze, the car was clean and ready to go. When we returned the vehicle a very helpful gentleman took our paperwork and checked the car immediately. The service was fast, smooth and reliable. The instructions we received for after-hour pick up were clear and easy to follow. We managed to receive/return our car in just a few minutes. The car works well. The only minor issue is that the child seat was not necessarily of good quality. The belt was not adjustable, mostly likely that it was not well maintained. On choosing Omega I realised that the vehicles were slightly older models but this didn't phase me. However when picking up the vehicle I found that it was significantly dented and marked, in fact such that I could not honestly sign off on all of these damages. I must add that I had chosen not to take out the next level of insurance as my travel insurance was such that it covered this amount. The corolla I had drove quite well but we had to stop the air conditioner on several occassions as some hills were really steep and the engine surged when the air cond. was on. The service personnel we encounted were very friendly and helpful at the Auckland airport outlet with delivery being prompt. Pickup from the airport was rather slow and we were just about to ring again when the vehicle arrived. All things considered It's hard to justify renting from the bigger rental companies at the premiums they charge, so Omega is well worth considering. The only downside was the damage already on the vehicle which gave some concern to me that Omega may make a claim against me. Thankfully no further damage occurred when in my care so all was ok.

We booked a hire car for 18 days to pick up in Auckland and drop off in Queenstown. The price was much lower than any offered by other companies and so we were constantly suspicious that we would get stung by some unexpected fee. We never were and it turns out that these guys were just excellent value for money! Service was good throughout the process including, e-mail with customer services to get the contract sorted, insurance arranged and a few questions I had. Picking up the car was easy form the airport and dropping it off was quick and simple and they gave us a lift to the airport from the depot. The car itself was budget but then this is how we got such a low price and it suited us wonderfully. We were just two people and needed room for us and our bags and that was it. The car was a nearly 10-year old Toyota Vitz so it was always going to be a bit dated. Nonetheless, it was clean, well serviced and the mileage was surprisingly low for a car that age. A trusty steed that we were pleaded to have and made us very glad that we went with Omega Cars.

Jasper was very helpful when I came to pick up the car - we found a scratch to add to the sign-out paper. The car was great - good price, extras I found very useful. Having to pay a $5 airport fee was a bit irritating - I picked up and dropped off at the depot and went nowhere near Arrivals and Departures. But I'll be back if I need to rent again.

We had an older car and for that we had a better rate. The car had over 103,000 kilometers on it and was not in the best shape. It needed new windshield wipers and we did have rain a couple of times. It was difficult to see out the windows and had to stop and wait for the rain to subside. It had a rattle in the door the whole time we had it which was annoying. we had stopped for several hours and when we returned to the car it had a dead battery. We had left nothing on so were quite concerned. Fortunately, someone came by that had jumper cables and was able to get the car started. We were quite relieved since we were in a low traveled area. The interior was clean but the radio was very old as well and the type that was added after and not part of the original car and did not work well. We had a great experience with Omega in Christchurch and were disappointed with the car in Auckland. The checkin and return was smooth.

Best car rental we have ever had. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the car was in perfect shape. We had a headlight go out and we contacted Omega. The representative actually gave us the light bulb number and told us the closest gas station to get it fixed. Omega also allowed us to drop the car off in a different city at no additional cost. This has never happened in over 25 years of car rentals. I recently hired a Mazda 2 from Omega Rental cars. This is the second time I’ve used their services and as a return customer I guess that says enough. On both occasions the rental has been for 10 or 12 days and we traversed the North Island. Both vehicles were approx 9 years old but were comfortable, very clean and mechanically sound. Omegas service is friendly and efficient and airport transfers to their Auckland depot 2 or 3 kilometres away are pretty seamless. On the first occasion I picked up the car from Auckland airport depot and delivered it to their Wellington city depot without any problem whatsoever. Omega rentals was a gem amongst the sea of overpriced vehicle rentals in New Zealand. We took advantage of their mystery rental car program and saved ourselves a bunch of money. We ended up with an older Nissan sunny that worked perfectly for us. The car was a bit beat up but clean and ran well. The staff was very friendly and even showed us a helpful video about driving on the opposite side of the road. The video was extremely helpful in educating us and making us feel comfortable with this new experience. They even offered an after hours drop off right near the airport because our flight was before they opened. All in all the experience was exceleexc and would highly recommend!

I have booked a car three times with Omega in the past 7 weeks and had exceptional service each time. The company do not hassle you with tiny little scratches etc because the cars are not perfect but run well, and are in a reasonable condition. This allows the renter to be relaxed and not worry about manufactured faults to scam the customer. They have picked us up from our accommodation and dropped us off each time, all complimentary. We returned the car 2 hours late due to leaving something at the hotel and having to go back for it. Omega were sympathetic and didn't suggest any additional fees to be paid. My wife and I had a great experience with this company. We rented a small vehicle (Mazda Demio) for 2 weeks while we were visiting New Zealand in February. We're from BC Canada, and this was our first time in NZ and my first time driving on the opposite side of the road. Our total cost was $650 NZ ($574 CAN) with the Gold insurance (the best insurance they had). Picking up the car was painless and the young man that helped us was very informative and so polite. He said that insurance would cover any damage to the car, except damage to tires. We would be responsible for that. The vehicle was in decent shape, but the tires looked pretty worn (with around 25% tread left). I was concerned and actually talked to the agent about them and as usual I took a video of them and the car before we left, just in case anything happened. (Something did happen which I'll tell you about) He said they were worn, but still in decent shape. After practicing driving near the airport for 45 mins to get accustomed to the left side of the road and all the roundabouts, we left Auckland for the Coramandel and many other locations. We drove around 1200 kms during the 14 days. We had zero issues and the car ran perfectly with decent power and the tires kept us on the road. On the last day, 40 mins from Auckland to return the vehicle, we had a flat tire. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it soon enough, and drove on the tire for a few minutes and damaged the side walls beyond repair. It was the tire I had questioned the agent about. I quickly changed the tire and we searched for a repair shop. We stopped at a couple places and they didn't have the tire size in stock. The price they quoted was $130 NZ and they'd order it in. We checked Manukau Cooper Tyres in Auckland and they had the exact tire for $92 NZ! They confirmed the tire was beyond repair (& that it had been repaired before) They were incredible, had the best prices and had the new tire installed in under 15 mins. We dropped the car off at Omega and I went to show them the video I took as I wanted to dispute the tire issue. Unfortunately the video couldn't be found, so we ate the expense. I still give Omega 5 stars as they were great to deal with and their prices were still lower than everyone else's. I will definitely rent from them again and refer them to others, but in the future I will make sure to document any concerns and double check that I actually recorded a video or took pictures of the vehicle beforehand. Drive safe :)

I was impressed by the car we had. It was clean and tidy and newer than I had anticipated. It was a good fit for our family of 5. I have tried other budget car hire firms and none have been as good as this one. The personnel in Auckland City were professional and informative. We were most scared of the return to Auckland Airport because the Omega Return Depot was 3 km from the terminal and we weren't sure of the way. Also, we had a narrow window to catch our flight. In fact it was no hassle at all. We were provided with a map, we managed to find it no problems. There was a shuttle service back to the Airport free of charge, so that was a great relief. We will definitely use Omega again.

Hi, my wife and I have just returned after a three week business and family trip to NZ. The hire price for the Tucson LV was that brilliant, none of the other companies were even close. The vehicle was near new. Fantastic fuel consumption with all the bells and whistles that is important in car travel. The LV drove well, plenty of power and zero breakages. Staff support was helpful, well mannered and most accommodating. We extended an extra week to finish off business so I needed to extend on keeping the car. Unfortunate for us the car we rented was hired out on the original departure date and we had to return the car. Omega offered very friendly service at Auckland City and the airport office. There was no extra charge for picking up at one and dropping off at the other or for the shuttle service which made getting to the airport so easy. The price was so much less than the big international companies but the car was still very comfortable and reliable. I thought the staff and service were outstanding. I actually had problems in that my flight was delayed leaving me very little time to get where I was going. The staff tried their hardest to help and called ahead from the shuttle and had the car revved up to go when I got to the depot. I would say that if you’re using a depot based company you need to build in a lot of margin to get where you’re going and back to the airport on return. It’s not a super fast service but I imagine it is standard among depot based companies (rather than on-airport) to take a while to transport you by shuttle. I also had a gps that was not up to date - the roads round there have obviously changed recently meaning that you can’t turn left where you used to get to the depot more quickly. You have to go close to the airport then double back. Again you need to allow for this. I was very pressed for time but Omega were as helps as they could be. Next time I will allow much more time if I want to use this off airport company. They were MUCH cheaper than the on airport companies and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

I found Omega to be very easy to deal with. Collection was quick. The transfer bus arrived within 5 minute. The car was perfect for the holiday.on dropping it off in Wellington, a member of staff jumped in the car and drove us to the ferry terminal and helped to unload our luggage. My only issue was with maps on my iPhone. It took me to the old address which needs updating.

We enjoyed our experience with Omega Rental Cars! They even assisted us with ferry tickets which was tremendously helpful since we did not have much experience. We were shuttled to and from the airport which is priceless. The car was clean, had great gas mileage and was very reliable - we drove it for 15 days. The only reasons I would not award five stars is because, even though the car was great - it was older and needs some maintenance. The trunk would not stay latched closed and flew open twice while we were driving. You had to really slam it shut, which in turn would pop the petrol compartment door open. Also, our GPS completely crashed and we could not use it for 3 days. We managed ok but it was near impossible to find a petrol station near the Omega office by the airport (for us non-locals anyway) so we could not turn the car in with a full tank or we would have risked getting lost and losing our flight. The attitudes of the customer service representatives were fabulous and very friendly but I wish they would have discounted the days that our GPS wasn't working and given us a pass on the tank only being half full considering our frustration, respectfully. However, we will absolutely rent from them again. Cheers!

Hired Corolla Sedan (the larger Corolla on offer), fitted 2 pretty large suitcases in the boot with a bit of extra space either side as well. The car had done 49,000 klms (2014 model as guaranteed) had a couple of squeaks but performed great (only 2 adults). The car was in good nick as well. Booking online (initial hire) was easy as was the return to Auckland Airport office. Had to arrange pick up of car after hrs when 1st landing and that process was pretty much straight forward, just catch the free "park and ride" shuttle bus at the airport and collect car at the 3rd stop it makes. I was very pleased with my car rental at Omega. They picked me up at the airport, were quick in getting the paperwork completed, and had me on the road in the type of vehicle I requested in no time. There are two reasons I did not give them 5 stars: 1. I had to wait over half an hour for pick up by the shuttle (had I known the wait was so long I would have had a snack) and 2. the vehicle they gave me was extremely scratched up (had I not purchased total insurance coverage I would worry about charges for scratches caused by previous drivers.)

Would 100% reccomend getting their silver insurance (at least) as we had one car stolen, which was replaced as quickly as they could.manage and another had a stone chip on the windscreen (apparently quite common) again Omega replaced.the car as they 'didn't want to delay our holiday' by sorting out a repair or replacement. With all this, I had to call them quite a bit and they were fast to answer, nice to deal with and always knowledgeable. The lady at reception was lovely. Very fast and efficient with the paperwork. Having taking out gold insurance, it made the process so quick. The car, unfortunately had been valeted twice and still had mud clogged in the wheel wells and hot chocolate or something splashed down the inside of the windscreen but I was more annoyed with the previous renters for leaving the car in such a state than Omega for not having it spotless. The return was even easier. A young guy came out, checked my name and took the car. Again, because I'd paid gold insurance, no inspection was needed. Having paid gold and not having to hold a large excess for insurance on my card was a bonus. I would have no hesitation hiring from Omega again.

Both rentals were older (3-5 year old) Toyota RAV4s, and each rental was for over 3 weeks, one rented from Christchurch and the other from Auckland. Reasonable prices each time. We drove all over each island and really enjoyed the reliability of the cars - that was one less thing to worry about as we navigated NZ’s challenging roads. The shuttle bus even has baby car seats for those that have young children. The car only had 30,000 kms on the clock and drove really well. I had no issues at with the car. I will use Omega again when in NZ and I'm happy to recommend them.

We rented a car for 8 days last week and can't rate Omega highly enough. We rang from the airport as soon as we got our bags and by the time we walked to the pick up point the shuttle was pulling in. It was a 5 minute drive to the rental office. We got a late model Toyota Corolla in perfect condition. The transition from shuttle to car was efficient and fast. On our return we pulled up to the door and by the time we had taken our bags from the car and checked nothing had been left behind, the inspection had been completed and our shuttle was ready to leave. Shuttle drivers were competent and friendly. We couldnt fault Omega have already promoted them to friends and suggest you save a lot of money by choosing them!

Rented in Auckland and returned in Queenstown, twenty days later without any issues. I will say I was happy I rushed to the counter after the transfer from AKL to car lot. Two shuttles arrived around the same time and the place was super crowded when we left with rental car. Everyone was very friendly and helpful during initial pickup and return. The car we rented was model in actual listing. I paid more to reduce excess to zero as I was a bit worried to drive on the left for the first time. Now that I've done it, I would have been fine with taking the additional risk, but the peace of mind was nice. It was also nice to not have an obvious rental car sticker on our back window like we saw on others. Omega also arranged the ferry for us and the car, which went smoothly as well. We were glad not to have to deal with returning a car, riding the ferry, the crowding another rental counter after the ride to pick up another car! We were a family of 3 adults needing space for suitcases & carry-on bags. Omega guaranteed us a 2014 model Toyota Corolla sedan which suited us very well. I arranged for the hire a few months beforehand. We appreciated the courtesy shuttle bus that collected us from our first night's stay. The shuttle was suggested on Omegas website as an option for customers, especially if they arrived late the previous day. Our car was as described. Although it was a little muddy on the outside just at the door, the inside was clean & fresh smelling. Omega also offered to collect our hire car from our last night's accommodation, an offer I gladly took up. I had occasion to call for advice during our road trip as I had concerns for a tyre that was losing air a little too quickly. I spoke with Mike who was friendly & explained Omega's policy for our situation. After the call I was confident to go ahead & get the tyre checked & repaired. Efficient pickup (Auckland CBD) and very efficient drop off. We took shuttle from their location at the airport to the airport - easy and quick, about every 15 min. They had one child seat installed in the van and at least one booster available. We had our own infant seat, assume they would be able to provide if needed. Car ran well. Some scratches on the outside but didn’t affect our experience. Price reasonable compared to 1st tier. Easy online booking.

We hired a 2006 Mazda Premacy for 3 weeks. These guys picked us up from the Airport and dropped us at the depot. The car was clean and comfortable. We didn't need a fancy brand new car so this suited us fine. We hired a GPS which wasn't entirely up to date. And a baby seat which was a bit old. On return to the depot I missed the last shuttle bus. But the lady at the counter drove me the 1.5km back to the Motel. Was greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately we had a breakdown in the middle of nowhere but the AA rescued us and a new car was sent down from Ak overnight so we were away again within 24 hrs. Friendly and efficient staff - they were out of Auckland maps at their Auckland Airport office, so they printed out google maps directions for two of the destinations I needed to get to. The Omega Shuttle arrived 10 min after I called them on arrival in Auckland. On arrival at the office, the cars were prepped and ready outside for all customers on the shuttle (3 parties). Staff were ready for us inside the office, and it was all very quick. Our Nissan Tiida was very tidy indeed, and perfect for our young family. Omega had the baby and child seats in there as requested, and they didn't even charge for these. Great staff, good car, professional to work with, and very very competitive with the price. First time I have hired a car and I love Omega rental cars. I hired a rental for 30 days originally and I ended up extending our hire to 44 days and they were able to do everything over the phone hassle free. They hire to under 25s and I was so surprised you could use a debit card for bond (they only accept debit card with your name engraved) , as many other car rental companies require a credit card and payment before you uplift your rental. Transition from plane to the shuttle was a breeze as they park right outside the airport and there is always someone in the office if you’re needing assistance, or a shuttle after hours. Would definitely hire from this company again they make everything so easy and the price was also fantastic and better than any other car company I looked at I wish I could rate 10 stars :) thanks so much Omega Rental Cars.

We were travelling in NZ for three weeks and had two opportunities to rent a car from Omega: one week out of Queenstown and three days out of Auckland. Both experiences were great. Was happy to pay a cancellation fee but not that impressed that it was a percentage of both the car and the insurance premium, since not using the car meant I was never going to require the insurance or make a claim, so see no reason for the fee to include that part of the cost. Easy and up front about booking process and costs. My trip involved a ferry ride and changing rentals part way through it. Omega Rentals made this process extremely smooth. Their communication was seriously impressive. Shuttle service between start airport, ferry terminal, and end airports was quick. Cars rented to me performed very well. I had no trouble renting the car on line and getting it at the rental. I had asked for a GPS as I did not l know the area. I rented the car for 4 days. Everything was good. The only trouble I had was with the GPS. It worked 1 day out of 4, but after I told Omega they refunded my money no questions. I regularly use Omega Car Rentals and have found them consistently friendly and helpful, as well as providing the cheapest prices online that I can find. They are happy to arrange for drop off and pick up after office hours for an additional fee (usually how much it costs to exit the car park) which is really useful for me. The cars I hire are usually the budget model, and whilst they are usually old they have never failed me and provide enough space. They provide free child car seats which again is very useful for me. I look elsewhere but consistently come back to Omega Car Rentals. I can't fault them on price or service, which is what matters.

We recently rented a car from Omega for about two weeks. Picked it up in Auckland and dropped it off in Wellington. There was a glitch during the booking process, when the confirmed price was much higher than the quotation, but it was easily fixed with an e-mail. We also had a very long wait to be picked up at Auckland airport, but it was at the start of the World Masters Games, apparently the airport's busiest day on record, so there was an excuse of sorts. For the very reasonable price we paid we expected an old banger, so we were pleasantly surprised when we were presented with an almost brand new Corolla. The car was clean. The staff at pick up and drop off were friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for much more. We will use Omega again.

Rented a SUV for 6 days. The car was good and staffs were kind. However, I am giving 3 stars because of the excessive waiting time at the airport for the shuttle bus to their office on the first day. It took us 50 mins until we get picked up. I could see the traffic was running bad on the day, however, the shuttle bus for the APEX rental picked their customers more than 3 times while I was waiting for the Omega shuttle bus and their offices are only a minute away by driving. Other than the waiting, all good.

Had two vehicles. The first vehicle was mechanically sound. However the interior light did not work and it had a Japanese GPS the continued talk as you drove. I also thought the tires were a little worn as I did not feel comfortable on wet roads. We returned this vehicle for a replacement and there was no problem. The replacement vehicle was in good shape, good rubber and a working interior light. The staff were excellent, accommodating. and helpful. Would rent again. .

The depot is a reasonable distance from the airport. The only thing Omega can't fix is the Auckland traffic. It was many years since we had driven in Auckland. We found it quite overwhelming trying to find our way to a small place in Glen Innes.

We came in from Canada and toured New Zealand for a month (March - April 2016). We started in Auckland and took the train to Christchurch. After about 8 days we rented an Omega Car and toured the rest on NZ by Car. I was a little concerned about driving on the left but after about 10 minutes this was no longer a concern. In fact we drove over 5000 km before turning in the car in Auckland. We left one car in Picton and picked up an other in Wellington without a problem. The service at pick up was very pleasant and both cars fully met our expectations. We had a GPS from home and that was very helpful in Auckland and Wellington. The gasoline prices are higher than we're used to but the flexibility a car gives you is well worth it. The views are especially spectacular on the South Island. In the end we're very happy with our Omega car experience as it allowed us to stay at many lovely AirBnBs along the way. I certainly have no hesitation in recommending Omega. We rented an older car and had no issues whatsoever. They were in very good condition given their age. Loved New Zealand. Thanks Omega.

We hired our rental car for the long Queens Birthday weekend. We have used these guys before and had a great experience. We always go for them as they have the best rates when you include the insurance waiver down to a zero $ excess. We ended up bringing suitcases that were too large to fit into our corolla hatch so they quickly swapped us to a sedan version for same price - no dramas. We were advised to fill up at Waitomo Fuel just up the road which was 30c cheaper than the airport stations when returning the vehicle. Great service again. Will use them again in the future.

Had no problems with pick up and was able to drop off at the after hours airport parking easily enough. The car was fine and was happy with the service. They did call a week or so to confirm that we didn't want to cough up extra to avoid the 2000 or so excess and we would hire from there again. It's about a 5-10 minute drive from the international terminal.
