I can't fault it. The booking was easy and communication was great from the guy who picked us up. He said he'd be at the airport in 5mins and he was. Easy check in and they gave us a fantastic car. Best rental experience ever.

Reasonable car rental! Option to rent super saver car with reasonable insurance ($0 excess)! We ended up with a Mazda Hatchback. Interior & exterior was well maintained! Quite clean! Another plus point was that ACE car rentals quote unlimited mileage in all their rentals! Some companies charge per KM. Registration & drop off was super simple & quick. There's an option for online check in to make registration time even shorter!!

Too easy! Much cheaper than the competition and picking up was much quicker and easier than other places I've used in Australia. When we flew in we found our plans had to change due to some flooding and they were very accommodating when we asked them to change our plans a little.

This morning we returned our one-way rental car to the Ace Christchurch Airport office, after 25 days on tour ex Greymouth. We were greeted on site by Sam before we got out of our car. Then Sam loaded our travel suitcases into a van and took us to the airport, where he fetched a luggage trolley for us. Great car (new Kia Stonic), great hire deal, great service both at Greymouth collection point and Christchurch. Highly recommended rental service

I got to the airport and absolutely had no idea how to get here... called the number from the booking confirmation email, this very friendly lady instructed me to go to the shuttle bus stop and wait there. I waited for about 5 minutes, someone came to pick me up and dropped me off at the rental car office. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Smooth and nice service I absolutely loved the car I used while I was staying in the south island. I would definitely come back to Ace rental cars again when I'm back.

I used AceCars for the second time and was always very satisfied. Also this year I will rent there again. Friendly staff picking up in Auckland and returning to Christchurch

Definitely recommend Ace Rentals, and really appreciate the service we were given by Marama. After being let down by another rental company, we walked over to Ace Rentals and i explained our situation to Marama. She quickly sorted out a car for us at a really good price aswell. The car was clean and exactly what we wanted for our trip. Thank for so much Ace Rentals and especially Marama for making our trip so much better!

Easy communication with the staff (Sam) to arrange shuttle, took him less then 5 minutes to reach the airport and friendly too. The Corolla cars were new with GPS equipped benefiting our road trips.

Fantastic service at Christchurch. Shuttle comes to airport promptly to pick you up. All the operators are friendly. They have nice clean bathrooms and complimentary hot drinks machine. Gave us free lego packs for out children on latest trip. Was not a problem when we needed to cancel one of the cars we had booked due to sickness. We use them every time now.

The car although older reflected in the price and was great. You can't beat a Toyota even at 97000km. Very quiet and fuel efficient and we'll presented. The dropoff was very smooth and efficent.

Having been away for 5 weeks across 3 countries ACE car rentals were the 4th car hire firm we have used. The rental was going to be for 2 weeks and covering 2500km over South Island. When picking up the car in picton I was dismay/horrified to be give a rather tired 167000km vehicle. However over the next few days we got to love our rather dated Tiida. It had the most comfy seats to date, it had the best air conditioning of any of the 4 we had rented and it fitted two large suitcases in the boot along with a box of shopping. None of the other cars had large boots. It never put a foot wrong over the next 2 weeks. Hoping it has a long life yet - it probably knows South Island better than most. Returning the car to tomorrow. Not given 5 stars as I don’t know how good Christchurch office are going to be.

Wow, the best car rental company in my life. I took the cheapest automatic car with the best insurance. They were super fast and efficient. No useless questions asked and no special car checks needed. Also I had no waiting times.

Ace isn't as ubiquitous as bigger rental companies, but it's at least half the cost less, and is perfectly adequate if you plan ahead and book in advance. They do pick ups and drop offs at airports, although those especially need to be planned--they are often only there until 6pm or so. I had to get to the airport several hours earlier than I would otherwise have done in order to return the car. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I forgot something in the airport van and they found it when I called the next morning, made sure it was mine, and said they'd hold it until I came back for it, which was a big relief. On the North Island the car was much better car than the one on the South Island (the latter squeaked and made some other troubling noises, but there were no actual mechanical problems). One-way rentals were easy on both islands, and reasonably priced (it's an extra $50 to drop off in a different place than you picked up the car). The cars were pretty dumpy, standard 4-door sedans, but they drove fine. The staff pushed the full insurance, which is to the company's benefit, and didn't end up being necessary, but it brought nice peace of mind, and even with it the cost was much less than through other, bigger companies, so it was still a good deal. I don't think they had an offer to pre-pay for gas, so it was either fill it yourself or pay a lot on the back-end. You can call them from the CHC courtesy phone and they come to the airport at the car rental transfers area. They gave us maps, directions, and suggestions.

Simple and fast process to receive and return car! Very nice and clean car given and a the office has a very bright and modern setting. Thank you for fufiling my request by giving me an Elantra. PS. This is my second time renting with Ace. It is still so great and up to my expectations!

I got a free 2 day car relocation from here. I picked up in Queenstown and dropped off in Christchurch. If you're traveling from one city to another I highly recommend using these car relocation options. They're great. The company was good and flexible.

Generally always been well organized with a good level of front staff service and capability.... I have relocated and rented vehicles from Ace Since 2006... and other than the usual staff not crossing off free fuel or removing a Bond.... ACE have been almost exceptional...

Brilliant service from start to finish . Both shuttle drivers Bob and Gary and the girls at check in/out were fab . The car was so much better than i thought it would be and never missed a beat . In fact it's better than my own car . Lastly , their prices are seriously good value when you compare with the corporate behemoths . Don't be put off , use Ace cars without any worries at all .

What a fantastic hassle free company to deal with, car was ready when stated. People were friendly, car was unbelievably economic. Wouldn't go past Ace rentals if I ever needed a car again. So easy to recommend to anyone wanting a great runabout while away. AAAAA+++++

We recently travelled down from Auckland and used the services of Ace Rental Cars. Upon arrival at the airport a gentleman promptly collected us from the airport and drove us over to Ace Rental Cars, where we went through a fast friendly transaction and in a few minutes were on our way to Ashburton. 16 x days later we dropped off the car and met Mel, whom checked the car and signed off all the boxes with a smile. In summary, we found Ace Rental Cars a friendly, professional family whom genuinely provided us with an awesome service. And having travelled all over the world, it is great to come home to kiwi hospitality! Thanks Ace Rentals! :)

Very basic cars (must check for problems) for rental. We've spent more than an hour to get a correct car from the Auckland branch right at the start of our journey.

Picked up at Christchurch airport ok. Small drive to off airport garage. Car fairly old with lots of scratches and dents, but seems to run ok. Ok for the cost compared to the likes of Avis. Plus I am taking the car to Auckland with no one way charge. Good customer service by email prior to arriving in New Zealand.

They made hiring a car at short notice very easy.

So super fast service, we just drove in with our car (drop-off) and the shuttlebus was ready as we were. No waiting time, just returning keys and that was it. Very friendly driver aswell!!

2nd time in 3 Months we have hired a rental from Ace. 100% satisfied once again. A couple of hiccups minor ones, they were very busy at their yard due to the fact they had a staff member go home sick plus another Rental Co was sending customers to Ace because they had run out of cars which was explained to all and apologies for the delay. We had a Gremlin in our car that kept turning the radio on different stations and full volume it was quite a hoot. Thanks Ace ChCh staff you are a great bunch of people plus cant forget Gary the shuttle driver what a great Ambassador for your Company pity there isn't more people out there with the people skills he has. Staffs are very kind and nice. Price is very cheap. The car was as much I paid. The car is very old and smell like smoke, I felt sick of that. For budget travellers not that bad.

Hired a car in Picton and toured a large chunk of the South Island doing some 2200k's without any bother, dropping it off in Christchurch. Car was a major factor in us having a fantastic time.

Friendly and very efficient staff. Free coffee :) Cars are a bit old but work well, and this allows a very good price.

Cheap, rental cars. Only issue was that there Christchurch Depo was understaffed and ended up having to wait over an hour in queue to be given our rental.

Value for money was very good. Business appeared to be short staffed and very busy. Wait time until service was about 30 minutes.

It took a little bit of looking to find where to go but there was no long wait and Ace rental staffer was super friendly.

The car was fine - older but cheap compared to other rentals. Our flight was delayed so we arrived late, around 6:30pm on a Tuesday. Because our flight landed after they "closed" at 5pm - they charged us an additional $60.
